Google
Absolutely my favorite spot for a salad! The ingredients are always incredibly fresh, and the portions are generous especially the chicken, which they pile on (just how I like it!). I come here often and gladly make the drive every time because it’s that good. Consistently delicious, and totally worth it. 😊

My husband and I have been doing takeout for our Sunday dinners from this place for over three years. Sometimes we even order it twice a week. The quality has NEVER changed. They are so consistent with the food portion size, flavor, and price. It’s something that’s hard to find at other places. And you're always greeted with a friendly smile. I can’t believe it took me this long to write a review — and I’m doing so as we enjoy a family platter from their menu. Thank you for such great food and service!

Google
Freakin shawarma mountain!!! Meat and veggies were excellent. Salad was a bit lacking but I don’t come here for their salads… I couldn’t give the atmosphere five stars because you can’t dine inside but not the end of the world. Employees were very friendly and timely.

Google
Wow, best middle Eastern food I’ve had, and I’ve had a lot! Had chicken combo platter for 4 and all the chicken was so moist. Hummus was great and the bread was warm. They were great substituting within the meal (hummus for garlic). Thanks!

Joe H.

Google
Great food. Ask for the kibbeh spicy with fresh jalapeño on the side if you enjoy heat. Each element of the vegetarian platter was tasty. I especially enjoyed the grape leaves.

Quinn B.

Google
The food is sooo good! It is delicious and nice. They have the best bread and their humas is great

Google
Boukie's has some of the best Mediterranean food available in the area. Not only is the food fantastic, the staff is friendly and fast. Also, every order we've placed has been 100% correct every time, which is oddly rare with many restaurants these days, it seems. I highly recommend this establishment, and the grape leaves.

Julie B.

Google
We had our son's high school graduation party catered by Boukie's- it's his absolute favorite. To say the food was outstanding would be an understatement. The food was high quality, fresh and plentiful. All of our guests loved it. Everything from planning the menu, setting up delivery and execution was flawless and simple. For the quality of the meat (we had meat and chicken kabobs and meat and chicken shwarma) and vegetables (fattoush salad) and everything else (falafel, garlic, hummus, tahini, bread, rice) it was very reasonably priced. Thank you for making the big day even more enjoyable!

Yelp
Best takeout in Royal Oak! This place is consistent in the quality and always tastes so fresh. Highly recommend the mix plate to get a little bit of everything. The proteins might be some of the best I've had as each bite bursts with flavor with the combination of fresh herbs. Great customer service, you won't be disappointed. No dine in seating as of now, just takeout only.

Yelp
Honestly some of the best food I've had in my life. 10/10! Pro tip: bite off one end of the bread and pack it with the meat, tabouli, and garlic spread for the perfect bite.

Yelp
Always a perfect meal! Everyone who works there is just the best :) Always faster than promised! The bread OMG

Phil R.

Yelp
Best middle eastern food in RO! Always fresh and delicious! Service is good and they always make you wanna come back!

Yelp
Very, very good. Got the chicken shawarma salad ($11.50) which was a wildly generous portion of chicken on top of a very yummy salad. Chicken was charred and flavorful. The salad was served with a delicious pita bread and some whipped garlic spread that was so good I jokingly said it made me believe in god. The salad is almost enough for two meals but of course being that I have the appetite of two people I ate it in one. They have great lunch deals as well. Chicken and rice soup was pretty average and the rice pudding was straight up bad. Would order again for the salad alone, however.

Elaine B.

Yelp
We ordered chicken kabobs, beef kabobs, spicy and regular hummus, chicken schwarma ,grilled veggies, the lamb shank with rice and everything was very delicious!! Their pita is really fresh too!! Definitely ordering from them again and often..carryout only.

Dank D.

Yelp
Always fire, go to is the fattoush salad with chicken on the side . Best middle eastern place in or near Royal Oak

Yelp
They are currently open for carry out only. This was my first time trying this place. It was ok, mr kebab is definetly a better tasting option. I placed an online order at lunch time. We had: lunch shawarma plate with lentil soup, falafel plate with tabbouli salad ($1 extra), sautee Cauliflower and side of fresh bread. First of all I saw people saying you get their fresh bread with order which wasn't our case. We got the shelf stable pitas. Maybe because I already ordered extra fresh bread and paid for it? Thankfully I did because I would be upset if I would get only store bought pita. Lentil soup was delicious, dense and flavorful. Husband said his chicken was good too. Falafel was a disappointment, it was very dry, falling apart and brown inside instead of bright green. It also had a big pieces of lentils? Not sure but I wasn't a fan. Cauliflower was good but nothing special that I would order again. Fresh bread was ok, it dried out very fast and it was hard as rock. The garlic sauce was delicious. Shame we only had a tiny portion of it. I though it comes with fresh pita too. It does not. Overall, it was an ok meal. Some items better than others but nothing stood out.

Pam G.

Yelp
Highly recommend! Enjoyed delicious falafel roll-up with hummus and tabouli, lentil soup, baklava. The service is welcoming, quick. Takeout only, but find a cozy, local park for an instant picnic!

Bob B.

Yelp
Friendly staff, great food, reasonable prices. I have been here twice for lunch recently and the food and service were consistent across visits.

Yelp
I attended a wedding with Boukie's Grill as the caterer. So many people were impressed with the delicious food! It was really nice to have something different than what's often served at weddings. Staff was professional, but seemed unapproachable. They arrived on time, and did a great job setting up at two locations at the venue.

Ken P.

Yelp
This is on of the best Middle Eastern restaurants in the Detroit area with a fabulous location. The chicken kabob sandwich is the best I have ever had. The hummus and lentil soup are fantastic. They do not have table service since COVID, but they have a gorgeous patio and you are welcome to eat your food in the restaurant, too.

G M.

Yelp
Sad to say, another restaurant that didn't make it back to its former self after the pandemic. Once the home of a very good chicken shawarma, the current-model sandwich is merely grilled chicken (sans any perceivable hint of shawarma seasoning) with a couple of slight pickle shards and, if you can find it, perhaps a half-teaspoon of garlic sauce, served in an ungrilled pita. Perhaps it meets the current post-hipster standards of downtown Royal Oak food . . . but it used to be so much better. (did they put a shish tawook in the bag by mistake instead of a shawarma? we'll never know . . . but if you sell a shawarma, you get reviewed as a shawarma.)
google avatar

Farhad A.

Yelp
Nice staff, solid go-too good. Always consistent. The garlic sauce and bread is a must. Solid flavorable food.

Yelp
While I was in town, I was reallllllly craving chicken shawarma. I had a few meetings I could not get out of, so I searched the food delivery sites for some good Lebanese food. I was delighted to find Boukie's offering delivery on GrubHub through Yelp, so I booked it to be delivered later in the afternoon. I couldn't decide what I actually wanted, so I ordered a bunch and ate the leftovers for THREE more meals. Here's what I got: Chicken shawarma salad - there is an option to add chicken shawarma, grilled chicken, etc on the salad. You do not need to add anything. It already comes with the exactly perfect amount of chicken. I *did* add feta, which was an unnecessary luxury, and so so good. Garlic sauce - this came with puffy pita! I didn't realize I would be served a side of garlic sauce and flat pita with my salad, but you can never have too much garlic. I delighted in the puffy pita and have stored this leftover garlic sauce in an airtight container in my fridge. It's still good after 5 days! Lemonade with mint - This was so obviously just freshly made. It's soooo yellow and pulpy, that I assume they just juice the whole lemon. It was very tart and delicately sweet. The mint leaves add a great herbiness. It took me a while to finish the whole drink because it was sooooo tart, but a great treat! Grape leaves with meat - I am so glad I got the meat grape leaves. I;ve had Boukie's vegetarian grape leaves before and they're great, but these were sooo substantial. They were served hot and tasted fabulous. The actual grape leaves had a good bite to them. Cooked perfectly!

Yelp

Yelp
We are regulars at Boukie's Grill and this is probably my favorite place to get take out from. At this point we have tried nearly everything on the menu but our go to is the deboned chicken plate, starter plate, and the extra bread. They are consistent, great portion sizes, the service is excellent, and honestly I think it's the only Middle eastern restaurants worth going to outside of going to Dearborn. We really love this place, give it a try and you won't be disappointed. Also, the raw juices and smoothies are amazing!
google avatar

Virginia R.

Yelp
This is THE place for fresh, flavorful and plentiful middle eastern food. The fattoush salad (small) with chicken schwarma is big enough for two people for dinner. The lettuce is always crispy and fresh. The schwarma spices are spot on. I place Boukies up against any of the so called high rated middle eastern restaurants in Michigan. I work near Dearborn but order dinner from here for dinner almost weekly. The sautéed cauliflower with tahini sauce should be called Crack Cauliflower. I could eat it every day. The restaurant is always clean and comfortable. Carry out is quick and friendly. Just get it. You can thank me later.
google avatar

Yelp
Very consistent Mediterranean food. This location does takeout only. The one downside is it is located in Royal Oak so parking can be a problem. However, we a regular customers. The food is good and you get a lot. Great hummus and pita. That's always a plus. They are very accommodating when you need a large order at the last minute.

Yelp
Came in for dinner while driving around in Royal Oak, not sure where to go. This place has been here forever, standing the test of time, and if it survives in Royal Oak, a Mecca of moderate to mid priced restaurants and bars. Our server was Chloe, and she was amazing. Service can make or break a dining experience, and Chloe took very good care of us. She thouroughly explained the difference between the 3 different spinach pies on the menu. One is $5, one is $7 and one is $12. Well it was an easy decision, at went with the $5 cheapest one. It was very good, I was pleasantly surprised. I will definitely be back, and will ask for Chloe.

Yelp
Came here once because I was told the food here is delicious. Most of the reviews support this too, so I decided to stop by. The inside is larger than I thought, so I think this would be good for groups. Our table got the chicken shawarma, tabbouleh, and babaghanouj. The food was not the best, the chicken was lukewarm, and the tabbouleh was not well-flavored. While the table did come with free bread, the server would only give us 2 at a time... we would ask for more, and she would still continue to give us 2 at a time, and even said "don't eat too much bread." Like what??? We were eating the bread with the meal, and it's not like we were asking for an excessive amount. The basket was never full. With the 3 times we asked, that equated to one full basket. If a restaurant is going to cheap out like that, then I would rather take my business elsewhere. Definitely will not be coming back.

Yelp
You haven't lived until you've had their garlic sauce and bread! I live in another state now but thank goodness my best friend still lives about a mile from here. I always get ambitious and order two large garlic sauces whenever I visit, which comes with plenty of piping hot bread. If you happen to have leftover bread, simply reheat with a damp paper towel to restore that pillowy goodness. My go-to wraps are the shish tawook and chicken shawarma, but everything I've had here is amazing!
google avatar

N S.

Yelp
The garlic dipping sauce and hummus are very tasty and pair well with the generous portion of chicken on the salad.

Yelp
How am I an avid yelper/foodie and have never been to Boukie's??! This review will be short and sweet as I only just ordered from GrubHub and haven't been to the actual restaurant. I ordered the Shish Kafta Pita sandwich and a minty lemonade. The shish kafta was really delicious! The meat which was a beef meatball, was seasoned so well I could taste the cumin and all the wonderful flavors and the meat was very tender. Ugh, I could eat that everyday! The minty lemonade was everything it should be, refreshing, tasty, full of FRESH lemon flavor...it literally tasted like they juiced the lemons themselves, muddled the mint and turned it into a refreshing lemon slushy! so good! and it killed 2 birds with one stone and freshened my garlicky breath. It's safe to say that I will most definitely be back and I'll recommend them to my office for catering lunches. s/n my grubhub order was super fast!

Akia M.

Yelp
This is one of the BEST Mediterranean restaurants! I eat a LOT of Mediterranean food and I KNOW good food. Now with that being said I have only had their veggie platter and bread. Excellent! When I try some other things Ill come back and update post.

Mary M.

Yelp
Wonderful, tasty food. Excellent service and frieNelly staff. Will recommend and will be back.

Chris P.

Yelp
Okay, first off, I don't write many reviews on Yelp, but when I do, I make them count! Check out my previous reviews of a few poor quality establishments that I called out in the past. They ended up closing! I tell it as it is, so listen up! This place (Boukies), is AMAZING! Folks, the quality of the food is spectacular! The portions are righteous! The dinner portion is often times equivalent to a dinner + lunch portion. The meet is tender and usually prepared as it should. The owner is cool too. A down to earth good guy! With their consistent quality and generous portions, if they keep it up, they'll be around longer than humans!
google avatar

Yelp
Always delicious. I've been going to this location for middle eastern food since they opened and it's always fantastic. The fresh baked bread , hummus and bababa ganoush are great starters. The falafel is great too. I usually get the mixed shawarma with rice and fatoush salad but the kebobs are outstanding too. They have really tasty smoothies as well . The staff is great and the food is always ready on time. I miss dining in but things change, what can you do?

Yelp
My boyfriend and I stopped here last night after an awful experience at a restaurant nearby. From the second we walked thru the door the service was outstanding! We were greeted as soon as we stepped our foot in the door. Water glasses were served and drinks were ordered immediately. I've never been here before and the menu had tons of Mediterranean options. Plenty of sandwiches, salads and entrees. Not to mention desserts and smoothies. I ordered a fattoush salad. Waiter asked if I would like chicken with it, which I had the choice of grilled or shawarma chicken. I choice grilled chicken. Salad comes in small and large and I ordered a small. Boyfriend ordered a chicken shawarma sandwich. We started off with garlic spread and pita bread. Delicious! The bread was fresh from the oven. Garlic spread wasn't overpowering with garlic. Texture was spot on. Huge portion for a small! My salad was also huge for a small. Excellent taste and wasn't swimming in dressing. Pita chips in salad were very crunchy- my pet peeve is when they're soggy. Boyfriend loved his sandwich. Can't wait to come back. The service rocked. Table stayed cleared. Waiter checked on us all evening and drinks stayed refilled.
google avatar

Juan C.

Yelp
NOBODY prepping or handling food is wearing a mask!!! Used to come here religiously. Was super sad to see NOBODY in the kitchen was wearing masks. So there's a statewide order that if you go inside any business you need to have a mask, but the guys talking and laughing next to all of the food (including two huge spits of meat that rotate right at face level)! Genuinely sad when I saw that. We're done with this place until they take the virus that's killing us a little more seriously.
google avatar

Grace S.

Yelp
I want to start off by saying that my family LOVES Boukie's Grill. We have been ordering from them for years, and the quality/taste is pretty consistent... With that being said, we recently had a carry-out order that made us all sick; we all had food poisoning symptoms and there was nothing else we had that day that would've caused that to happen. The food quality was also off... the chicken was overcooked, and the bread was crunchy and not freshly made, like it usually is. My husband called and gave them all of this feedback, but they denied that this would've happened and told him that it was impossible, because their food is always fresh. He was also told that the bread was made for me while I was waiting to pick up my order, and it was not. We are just feeling very disappointed that Boukie's dismissed this feedback, and I wanted others to know about our experience.
google avatar

Alex S.

Yelp
This place is great. Get the fries extra crispy. Get the starter plate, and order the 6 pieces of the fluffiest, softest, warm pita buns. They're a little sweet, and use those instead of the large pita wrap to dip all your delicious condiments in. The shawarmas are great too.
google avatar

Hillary S.

Yelp
Soooo much food! Stopped in here for dinner and got the vegetables with hummus for an appetizer (just about enough food for three or four people already) and the two of us split the Mix Shawarma Plate. There was so much food that we took half of both home and we were stuffed! The hummus was good, and there was a variety veggies that were all fresh and tasty. The shawarma was great. Absolutely huge portions, well seasoned, and it comes with amazing garlic sauce on the side. Staff and atmosphere were pleasant, everything was very clean, and parking wasn't too hard to find nearby. We paid around $25 for two full bellies and two meals of leftovers to go--great deal!

James B.

Yelp
Nothing we got was very good. I've worked in middle eastern and Mediterranean restaurants and the Kafta was dry and lacking flavor and the accompanying onions with sumac, tomato or other garnishes. The lentil soup was also lacking flavor. My girlfriends shawarma was disappointing as well. Maybe this place used to be better or maybe we had an off day
google avatar

Joe B.

Yelp
We GrubHubbed Boukie's last night feeling too lazy to cook while we packed up our house. It was fantastic! I've wanted to try this place for literally years and just haven't ever made it in but GrubHub hooked it up. A lamb gyro, a chicken shawarma dinner and pea soup. It completely hit the spot and it was all completely delicious. The soup was warm and had a little cumin for flavor that was warm in itself. The lamb gyro was fantastic...well filled , tender meat and a really great tzatziki sauce. The shawarma dinner was huge. I've never seen so much chicken come in a styrofoam box. The rice was delicious, the garlic sauce was smooth and perfect and the pickled veggies were the right shade of neon purple and packed a vinegary punch. All in all a great carryout win!

Yelp
I'm so late writing this review because of the drama that followed after we left Michigan. Anywho, Mediterranean food is one of my absolute faves and this spot did not disappoint. Me and my friends decided to stop in for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Not crowed at all, we were seated right away. If I had to describe the place, it was average seating. Nothing bad but nothing to talk about. It was clean though. One of my favorite things to order is the tea because they use fresh leaves and it also taste so good! My girl ordered the fresh lemonade. She said that was thee best lemonade she had ever tasted. She couldn't drink it all and asked for a to go cup to take it with her, lol. For appetizers, we ordered spinach pies, and the fresh pita bread with hummus. Those spinach pies were so good. So so so so good. Omg, they were good! The pita bread was extremely fresh and very delicious with the hummus. We asked the waiter to bring more bread. Yeah, it was that good. Our meals was a falafel wrap, chicken shawarma plate and the lamb gyro platter. When I tell you we all enjoyed our meal, we really did. Everything was so fresh and delicious! Their portions are large so we had some to take away with us. And on top of the the waiter was divine! I can't remember his name but I do remember he was a young 20 year old that was going to enlist in the military. He was so good, we left hin a $20 tip for our $45 meal. This place was excellent!
google avatar

Carol E.

Yelp
The food is excellent and staff was very pleasant. I just wished the atmosphere of eating and dining was back to normalcy. People need to start getting back to reality and realize that dining out is the whole experience of uniting with human beings. Life is too short to not enjoy being Normal. You need to open up restaurant again for seating and not have to - go containers every where or plastic utensils for eating. Then I will come back.
google avatar

Tom R.

Yelp
Doing it again....love this place. I usually get their food 3-4x a month. Never been disappointed. Great food and ok atmosphere for dining in. I carry out and dine in 50/50. Will be back...probably next week.
google avatar

Katelyn S.

Yelp
This is my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area! The portions are huge and the chicken is always so fresh
google avatar

Alesha C.

Yelp
OMG DELICIOUS. The best garlic paste I've ever had. The food was fresh n delicious. I had a trio. The only thing I didn't like was the beef kafta. It was burnt. The grilled veggies were DELICIOUS, the salad, the cut up chicken, the chicken kAfta.....ALL DELICIOUS! I'll be returning. Oh and they forgot my damn smoothie smh but the food was great
google avatar

Dree D.

Yelp
The food was great. I'd definitely order here again. My chicken The vegan grape leaves could use more flavor. Otherwise nothing to complain about.
google avatar

Will T.

Yelp
Always a good call ordering from Boukie's Grill! Been here a couple times and love the grub. Had the chicken kafta, beef kafta, shawarma, and rice this time!
google avatar

Geoffrey J.

Yelp
Had take out and it was terrible. Food was cold and not seasoned well. Won't be back again soon. I'd go to Bucharest if you were craving middle eastern food instead of here
google avatar

Abhishek M.

Yelp
Boukie's Grill is conveniently located on Main Street in Downtown Royal Oak. Metered Parking is available at the back. Having great been here almost 6-7 times now, I have found the food always consistent and delicious. Everything from their warm bread and garlic dip, to their fresh squeezed juices and salads are always on point. I have also had their deboned chicken and lamb chops on previous occasions and the only drawback is that it's a lot of food. Great value for money!!
google avatar

Marji L.

Yelp
This was our first time ordering from this restaurant and it was a major fail. We ordered food to go and it took a very long time, so I ordered a juice smoothie while I was waiting which was good. We ordered fattoush salad, tawook sandwich, extra baked puffy bread, grilled Mediterranean vegetables. They didn't give us any bread, not even what we paid for, sautéed veggies weren't Mediterranean veggies at all and tawook was ridiculously soaked with sauce. I wouldn't suggest this place
google avatar

Nicole E.

Yelp
Food overall was descent but I prefer the food and La Feast better and it's just down the street. I had their hummus, lentil, falafel and fatoosh and it was all okay, nothing special or that stood out for me.
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Best middle eastern restaurant I'm downtown Royal oak. Great food and the price is right
google avatar

Beth B.

Yelp
We absolutely love Boukie's, along with all of our friends and family. The quality of food is absolutely exceptional and you get so much food you can enjoy it for days. Our favorites are the Chicken, Lemon Rice soup, Lentil Soup, Chicken Shawarma, Greek Gyro, Grilled Veggies, Hummus, Greek Spinach Pie and Fattoush and Greek Salads! We keep saying we are going to try new things but need up eating our old favorites every time! We can't recommend this place enough, they have something for everyone. Even my very picky daughter is obsessed with the Chicken Shawarma.

Yelp
NOT GOOD for delivery... traveling for work and just paid $16 (plus delivery fee & tip) for a combo platter... description said dish came with rice and I was prompted to select a "second side," and I selected fries... Fries are disgusting... they literally are the same sickening batter-dipped fry that Long John Silver's has (if you've ever had the misfortune to eat there)... AND NO RICE. None. At all. With my kabobs. Really, Boukie's Grill? And the kabobs are so dry... I know they are meant to be fully cooked through but there are plenty of other places where that doesn't equal bone dry. And no hot sauce... :'( I'm so disappointed, your reviews were very good but I can't disagree with them more. I'm here every other week for business and was looking forward to finding a reliable restaurant to eat at/order from. You're not it. P.S. I did get the rice pudding I ordered... I think you should check the date on it, as it tastes like it is spoiled (or was made with spoiled milk)... again, severely disappointed... not understanding how you rate so high here on Yelp
