Best Restaurants in Finsbury Park and Stroud Green, London | Eater London

"Since opening in 2010, this French bakery’s sumptuous window displays have raised baby pushchair congestion around Stroud Green to new heights. It combines staples of crepes, ciabatta sandwiches and brunch choices with a rotating array of sweet treats and savoury bowls; it feels like there’s something different on every visit. Good luck getting a seat on the weekend." - Riaz Phillips

Google
love this Boulangerie! The bread is always freshly baked and tasty. Today we had scrambled eggs and eggs royal for breakfast. Everything was delicious as always. Thanks to lovely ladies Lydia and Rose for hospitality ❤️

Cute quiet cafe. Perfect place to meet up with friends. The coffee is amazing! The food is really good, with generous portions and the staff are genuinely so lovely.

Lovely little café! I tried the pistachio croissant, almond croissant and a cinnamon roll — all absolutely delicious. Had two double espressos and friendly service by Kritika made it a perfect stop. Highly recommend!

Went to treat myself with a french toast, and was not disappointed! Nice caramelized crunch on the edges, compote and fresh berries. Lovely! Friendly staff members, and calming atmosphere!

We have been coming here for almost 5 years. Lovely place, good coffee and delicious pastries and cakes. The eggs royale is a 10/10. The staff are lovely and they even know my order, super chatty and welcoming. The best!

A little gem in London, excellent cappuccino, as well as the croissants and spinach quiche, which are delicious. Very nice atmosphere with classical music playing in the background. The dark bread is excellent. The freshly prepared dishes for a great brunch are very tasty. The staff is very kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.

Google
I went to check this place out because of its high rating. The pastries look nice, though they weren’t the best I’ve ever had. However, the customer service really made up for it they went above and beyond to make things right.

Yelp
Freshest, most delicious lunch I've had in a tiny, sweet cafe outside of Paris. This food is in the same caliber as NOPI deli in Belgravia! Absolutely loved this lovely cafe and its friendly waitstaff in (dog friendly) Hampstead :-)

Yelp
French coffeshop quite close to Finsbury Park. Excellent coffee, nice breakfast selection and amazing fresh baked french sweets/patisserie! Prices at normal levels and plenty of space to sit with your friends or with a laptop to work.

Yelp
I had a LivingSocial (?) deal for brunch and two hot drinks. I ordered french toast and a mocha. The french toast was divine. The mocha was strong. Had me on edge the whole day. That only really happens with strong coffee. The french toast had a few blueberries and some type of cream that tasted like sour cream lol. The staff was super pleasant! There was this guy that I spoke to when I first came in, maybe management, he had me seated immediately. My server was super nice and even allowed me to take home the salmon sandwich with dill cream cheese since I didn't have the other person from my party with me. That was not included with the deal but she asked if I could do so. I loved my food, my service and the decor is nice and quaint. I wish I could go weekly ):

Yelp
I do enjoy a good bakery in the morning, but, mouais. J'ai connu mieux. Typically French coffee (bad). Properly average food. Pretty out-of-the-way location. Poorly ventilated dining area. The pastries looked nice (too bad I didn't order any of them) and the service was friendly and hospitable. But, yeah, I've had better.

Yelp
If you can manage to not be tempted by the fruit of yet another wig shop along Stroud Green Road (both the centre and the world of wigs, among many other epic wig shop names, mind you) you may just stumble upon Boulangerie Bon Matin. If so, you'll likely be happy about your decision to trade croissants and french pastries for synthetic materials and yak hair, but I won't judge if you're not. As for me, I happily shoved as much of my savoury wholewheat crepe with ratatouille and french cheese in my face, sipped on a decent latte and nibbled on my partner's homemade bread. I really dig the breakfast until 4pm offer and while I loved my order, I had some serious food envy for some sweet brioche cinnamon French toast that floated by. Atmosphere, service, general feel was all very nice, albeit a bit stuffy from the kitchen smoke - but I definitely would make this a regular Sunday morning stop if I lived in the area. (If I had any money left over from all that wig buyin' I'd be doing...)

Yelp
Delicious food but undrinkable coffee. Difficult to know how to rate. We had cinnamon French toast and the chicken and salads, it was really great. Lovely to sit in the back with the skylight roof, really pleasant. Coffee tasted like coffee cleaner - really chemically - avoid. They forgot our order and had to remind them. Otherwise pleasant ambience.

Yelp
Oh sweet baby cheeses!! Oh my! It all looks frightfully delicious. I grabbed a couple of brioches to go and had to overt my eyes at what was being laid out before I was in danger. Must. Stop. Dreaming about their. Almond. Sigh. Croissants. ... I went back for afternoon tea. Bad Girl. His fault not mine. Buttery blueberry baked beautiful cake with a good coffee. Mustn't go back until jogging is a regular part of my life. Oh god all I can think of is jogging there in the morning for a Pan Au Chocolate. Stop it.

Yelp
Nice airy cafe with good variety and quality of food. All the salads seem to have a ton of oil on them, though.

Yelp
This morning, after going on a walk with my friend who lives in the area, we stopped in at this lively boulangerie to bring home pastries to share with her husband and daughter. I oggled over the fantastic pastries, ranging from different types of croissants and danishes to quiches and gorgeous mini cakes. We decided on a selection and I enjoyed looking around this cute boulangerie as we were served. The pastries were well-priced, too. When we got home we promptly broke into the bags and I can say the pastries were in fact delicious and a great treat. The cakes I mentioned also looked fabulous so I'll have to go back for them another time!

Yelp
I agree with the previous comment that it can get too hot in here, needs air con and fast! The food is decent and the service is really good and professional. Tasty pasteries and crepes.

Yelp
My favourite lunch spot in my neighbourhood. Great toasted baguettes and pastries. Well made coffee. Good coffee to have on the go! Their choice of roast could have been more delicate for the flavours of their food though, it needs to be more fragrant than roasty. So they'll have to improve the roast to get 5 stars from me.

Yelp
Light, airy and gorgeous food. Great for a sit in or take - away. Salads are delish and the coffees are fab. Lovely pastries and nice staff.

Yelp
Lovely cafe for a morning snack or weekend brunch and breakfast. Very posh and French but still nice. I see families in there all the time. I prefer the scrambled eggs down the road at the front room cafe but this place does great pastries and fresh bread...plus lots to choose from if you are a sweet tooth!

Yelp
This is a really fantastic patisserie with an authentic French flavour. Super breakfasts, great coffee and really beautiful pastries are all on offer. This place is contributing to the 'up and comingness' of Finsbury Park - hurray! The only thing that needs improving are some of the tables, which are wobbly, and the air conditioning machine. It's always on full blast and none of the staff seem to know how to fix it. If you sit in the draft, you'll have to move, because it's really uncomfortable. Apart from that, the food is great.

Yelp
Great place for coffee and cake. Really nice people running it. Our coffee was a bit delayed because the order got mixed up (we hadn't noticed even) but the manager came over and apologised many times and gave us the coffees for free. Excellent. On the weekend there is a queue and you'll have to wait to get a table. The menu for brunch could be better.
