Boulangerie Bouchard

I had the best croissant in a long time here. It was flaky but soft and buttery. I also picked up a pecan pie which was great. The crust was very well done. The patio also has a great view as an added bonus

If you're in Isle-aux-Coudres Boulangerie Bouchard is a must visit place! The food was so tasty, that I could only take the photos at the end after taking enough bites!! 🤤☺️. I'm definitely coming back for round 2 when I'm visiting Quebec again!! 🤩

5th visit back to Quebec and 5th visit back to Boulangerie Bouchard. Some modernization has been done since we paT visited but the outside seating ambience and the food quality remains the same. Almond croissant was crisp and fresh. The flat bread with toppings was nicely heated up and delicious.

If you like a lot of dough and no taste this would be your place. Ordered 2 pastries they were very heavy and had no flavor Sorry I had to throw it out. One pastry said it had raisins. There was no raisins in it.

Breads and baked goods are varied and very tasty. The view is pleasant while enjoying your meal at the outdoor table area. Staff is pleasant, helpful and courteous but the pricing is typical of an outrageous tourist trap - bad enough to reduce the rating by 2 stars!

It's great outdoor view, can see the océan while having some bread outdoor, I had apple bread (which is too sweet ^^") and nut bread (which is good not too sweet) and carrots bowel (if only add lemon juice or vinegar but sugar, then it's great) Pity there's no toilet ^^"

Worst sourdough bread I’ve ever had. I hope they made a mistake. But great spot to chill with the view for a quick stop.

Cheerful, friendly counter staff; a beautiful view; and yummy baked goods. Nothing not to like!

Was Ok, we bought some crostini, some pie and not much else. It was almost closing and we were doing our rounds pumping money into the local economy. It was late in the day for bread so we did not bother.

Was ok, a bit overrated. The bread was average. Sugar apple pie is quite good however. If you get one thing here go for that. Best part is outdoor seating with view of the river. The bakery has a cat on staff that will come to check on you as you're sitting and drinking your coffee. Be sure to pet him.

My uncle and I stopped in for some provisions for the way back to Vermont (hey, a bit far, but when the offerings are this good...). We purchased bread with dried tomatoes and black olives, garlic and cheese. So delicious. Their tarte au sucre was not as good as I've had elsewhere. Had we not been eating our way around Quebec, I'd have probably bought more. I meant to buy a tourtière and forgot. Next time!

So, if you happen to be travelling around 'L'Isle aux Coudres' by bike or car, then you will most likely want to stop at Boulangerie Bouchard. This is a bakery that also has a small lunch menu and we stopped by for lunch after biking around the island. FOOD With regards to the lunch menu, it is a pretty small selection of items, some of which are a bit over priced for what you get. Case in point, they had a chicken sandwich for almost $6 which I ordered and was essentially a dinner roll with chicken salad in it. Not larger, and in no way worth $6. When I saw it I changed my mind and picked up a bean salad for I think $5 which was tasty and probably worth the price. The missus picked up a lunch special which I think was a salmon pie with a salad for $10. For the amount of food she had, it was worth it. Since it is a bakery, I also picked up some muffins. They were both good. They were also I think $3.50 each. All in all, two muffins, a bean salad, and a lunch special (no drinks) was $25. Yes, it all tasted good but I can't help but feel they charge as much as they do because of the tourists. In looking over some of the bakery items, they had a mini chocolate chip and raspberry bread loaf for $6 which was way too pricey. I would have still bought it though but two tour buses arrived which pretty much killed that idea as it would have been too long of a wait (there was a line outside the door). There are a lot of other types of breads, pies and such as well. SERVICE It's pretty much self serve. Choose what products you want to buy and pay for them. With the exception of the small lunch counter where you order what you want. SEATING There is a small covered area at the side of the bakery for seating and some picnic tables with umbrellas beside that as well so if you aren't a big group, you should be able to find seating. PARKING You can park on the street before and after the bakery. It is a popular spot with the many cyclists and drivers around the island so expect to have a lot of cars. OTHER If you see a tour bus coming, make sure you get in and get what you want before the crowd comes. It isn't a large place. --- So, would I go back? Yes. There aren't that many places to eat on the island (or at least not too many places that aren't the chip stand style) and the food is good but due to the prices, just don't go crazy. Case in point, if you are coming from Baie St. Paul, you can go to the bakery there (Au chacun son pain), spend less, have more (their bakery items are big) and just as good if not better. In reality I'd give 3.5 stars instead of 4 (-.5 for the value) but as the food is still good, 3 stars is just too low.
