Bouldr Bar has quickly become my favourite local spot. It’s a microbrewery owned and run by Stacey, and we’d been waiting years for it to open on Cygnet Square — it was well worth the wait. What started as a pop-up outside over the summer became the perfect place to meet neighbours for a beer or cocktail on warm evenings.
The homemade, wood-fired pizzas (made by Stacey’s wife Alison) are fantastic, and the jollof rice burritos are a brilliant addition. The interior has been thoughtfully fitted out with hand-carved furniture by a local maker, and now that the colder evenings are here, it’s a cosy and welcoming place to sit in — there’s even giant Jenga!
A lovely touch is that many of the plants were donated by locals during their “plants for pints” scheme, which really sums up the community feel here. Stacey and Alison are genuinely warm, attentive, and care about their regulars. All the beers on tap are from their own brewery, Rock Leopard, and they’re excellent.
Bouldr Bar is fast becoming the heart of the Southmere Lake community — our own version of Cheers, where everyone knows your name. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
