The 22 Best Restaurants in Ensenada, Mexico | Eater San Diego

"Javier Martinez’s inviting patio, located next to Revolution Park, is a brilliant choice for a glass of Mexican wine — there’s even a Contra wine shop attached — paired with modern Baja surf and turf delights. Order local shellfish, Baja-style ceviches dressed with a touch of soy sauce, creamy seafood risottos, and steaks cooked over an open flame. Share your feast with friends, along with several bottles of Mexican wine, and you’ll feel like you’re throwing a party on your own deck at home. If you’re any good at petanque (boules), grab your wineglass and head to the court for a toss. Maybe you can join the Mexican national team, because this is their headquarters." - Bill Esparza

If you don’t read Spanish you will have a tough time ordering exactly what you want. Their menu is only online and only in Spanish so one can’t use a translator app to translate it. It is an outdoor restaurant so dress for it. They serve only two wines (one red & one white). You can get on the next door wine shop and order from them if you want a bottle. Slightly above average food for one who Dines often. There was a pesky dog begging at our table. Their ribeye was good the rest of the items were just okay. After I posted this we (the four of us) decided to go elsewhere to get some more food at another restaurant.

Nestled in the heart of Ensenada, Mexico, Boules emerges as a culinary sanctuary that epitomizes the confluence of refined taste, impeccable service, and an ambiance that whispers elegance with every detail. As a professional reviewer with a discerning palate and an eye for the quintessence of dining excellence, my encounter with Boules was nothing short of transformative. The moment my family and I stepped into Boules, we were enveloped in an atmosphere that melded sophistication with an inviting warmth, a rare balance that sets the stage for an unparalleled dining experience. The meticulously curated decor and thoughtful lighting created an ambiance that was both intimate and uplifting, perfect for a memorable evening. Service at Boules was a seamless blend of professionalism and personal touch. The staff demonstrated an intuitive understanding of guest needs, providing timely and discreet service that anticipated our desires without intrusion. This level of attentiveness is a hallmark of true dining excellence, contributing significantly to the overall experience. The cuisine at Boules is a testament to the artistry and passion of the culinary team. Each dish presented to us was a masterwork, skillfully balancing flavors, textures, and aromas to create a symphony of taste that lingered long after the last bite. The menu, a celebration of local ingredients with a nod to international influences, offered a journey through a spectrum of flavors that was both adventurous and deeply satisfying. Equally impressive was the value that Boules provided. The exceptional quality of the food, service, and ambiance far exceeded the expectations set by the pricing. It’s a rare delight to encounter a restaurant that offers such an extraordinary experience at a price point that underscores its commitment to accessibility and enjoyment for all patrons. Dining at Boules with my family was a highlight of our vacation in Mexico, a cherished memory that we will carry with us. It’s a place that transcends the act of dining, offering instead an experience that nourishes the soul and delights the senses. In conclusion, Boules stands as a beacon of culinary excellence, a place where every detail is a brushstroke in a larger masterpiece. I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to those who seek not just a meal, but an experience that celebrates the joy of dining at its finest. Boules is not just a restaurant; it is a destination, a place where the art of fine dining is alive and well.

Amazing food, drinks, service and atmosphere. We loved the yellowfin sashimi and grilled octopus. Everything was fresh and flavorful.

Google
Beautiful eatery in the heat of Ensenada with a brutalist/minimalist architecture vibe. The menu is divine and highly recommend the Risotto con Borrego and the Rib Eye con papas fritas. The cocktails are amazing, especially the Naked & Famous (Mezcal, Chartreuse, Aperol, Limon). The staff were phenomenal!

I been coming here for years and it’s my favorite restaurant in Ensenada! Love the food and the atmosphere and most of all the people including the owner are amazing. The wine shop is a great addition to a great meal and fun evening. Just go!

Google
This place was cool but nothing special. The service was average. The seafood was good but nothing worth of note. The lubina which was recommended as fish if the day was bland in a sashimi sauce. The risotto with Parmesan and lamb was quite good though. The brownie we had for dessert was dry. They do have a petanca court which was a fun activity after the meal.

Google
A great place for a fancy bite, very much for the Ensenada one-percenters. Food was delicious, but the manager was the star of the show. Attentive and not missing a beat. We’ll definitely be back.

Yelp
Glad to have patron this restaurant during our Baja vacation. The food was cooked and plated with excellence. Must orders: duck risotto & octopus taco. Risotto wasn't great BUT the duck was amazing. It tasted like beef, juicy and tender, not gamy or chewy. The octopus taco was only good but the plating of the food was what made it worth ordering. We also ordered the yellow tail sashimi since that was the only option and oysters. Both dishes were fresh and delicious. Never had oysters with soy sauce but the combination was very palatable. My 16yo ordered the New York steak. The meat was cooked and seasoned wonderfully but too much fat. Tip: The restaurant brings out jicama with 3 hot sauces. Beware of the orange sauce, extremely spicy but extremely addicting. Also, there is no English menu and staff speaks limited English so good luck to those that do not speak or understand Spanish. Ambiance of the restaurant is very casual and relaxing with lots of greeneries that set a good vibe. I personally think the service could have been better since we had to track down another waiter after waiting 15 minutes for our server to return. There was also no refill on the craft of water or coffee. Nor did our server ask if we wanted more. The best part, our total bill came out to about $151USD. For this type of meal and culinary skill, it was very affordable. Overall, a real local gem!

Yelp
I'm glad to have found this spot through Yelp. Food is very tasty. food faves: you must get the octopus where you make your own taco. sooo flavorful. also had the bluefin tuna sashimi. the ribeye wasn't a good cut as it was fatty. service is a bit slow. a few servers who speak english. most seats are outside but they had a few tables with an overhang so ideal when it's rainy season. the salsa they provide at the beginning is varies in spice level. i enjoyed the jicama with tajin

Yelp
One of the best dining experiences in Ensenada. Not only was the food delicious and incredible, but the service and staff were fantastic. Standout menu items include: Tortilla Soup (Sopa de tortilla), the Potato + Shrimp Soup (Crema de papa con camarón), Risotto and Steak (Risotto con arrachera) and the lamb chops (Chuletas de borrego). The ambiance of the entire place is stunning. Outdoor dining with lights in the trees is truly perfect. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Super cute outdoor dining. The food was really tasty when we got it, but we had to wait over 45 minutes for some of the dishes for no reason. Ordered three drinks, of which two came at a reasonable time but we had to ask three more times for the gin and tonic and it arrived after the other drinks had been finished. Incredibly slow. Cannot recommend.

Yelp
Wow, this place really masters ambience, service, & quality of food. Such reasonable prices compared to restaurant in Valle de Guadalupe, but in my opinion better overall cuisine. The garden is beautiful and feels like you are in a magazine spread. Nice lively neighborhood with a park nearby for a stroll after dinner.

Chip S.

Yelp
Great vibe, good service, food good but not amazing. Grilled oysters gratinee were fantastic, but skirt steak tacos and pork loin in adobo just meh.. especially for the price. I might go again, but be much more strategic with my food choices.

Yelp
The owner here, Javier, is a gracious host that has set up a beautiful ambiance. With the large, old trees swaying in the breeze overhead, the bocci ball court on the deck below and a menu that can satisfy all food preferences, this place is a hit. We came to Ensenada last November and it's the only place we repeated except for Animalon. What draws us here is the bone marrow tacos. Four gigantic bones come with corn tortillas, a delicious pico de gallo finely chopped, carmelized red onions and a trio of hot sauces if you want them. Don't tell Javier, but in the states they would charge $20 and here it is $9. We also had the mushroom risotto which was rich and creamy, but the star was the seared, sliced duck breast on top. It was crispy, perfectly cooked and seasoned and made a great pairing. We split both and my husband and I both walked away full.

Yelp
The food here is great. I love the parmesan risotto with duck or with arrachera steak. Great service, the waiters here are awesome. I highly recommend Boules!

Yelp

Yelp
A bit overpriced; some interesting dishes; good, not great...venue eclectic as was location

Yelp
Oh what a treat this place is! So happy we decided to try this place based on the recommendations of a couple friends who live down in Ensenada. Everything we had (Except the flank steak tacos) was amazing. We got tomahawk steaks, lamb risotto, shrimp pasta, octopus tacos, sashimi, ceviche, fried mushrooms, asparagus & 2 different deserts- we ordered a lot!! Everything we ordered was fantastic, really fantastic! I would definitely come back. The ambiance is nice, big open air with big 3 sections to eat at. The service was good & the waiter made good recommendations. If you're down in Ensenada & looking for a relatively upscale place that won't disappoint- look no further. Happy eating!

Yelp
This place is probably a 5, but my experience was a 4. I had a great time there. The owner came to say hello and told me all about his time living in the random part of the US where I now live. I was only disappointed because it's really hard for me to make sense of places where there is a menu but it also seems like there's tons that's off menu and that most people are ordering the latter. I almost got the impression that if I talked the guy into it, he'd some how procure the beef bone marrow (tuétano) tacos that I had come in for originally but which were not on offer at that time. It's just like people say: this place feels more like it's someone's backyard than a restaurant. Despite that, the service was still excellent and the food was as well. I just really wanted that tuétano, you know? Like this whole town is full of fish and sometimes you need to eat something that had legs.

Yelp
Delicious casual fine dining restaurant in a quaint neighborhood in Ensenada. Poblano risotto with lamb is one of my favs. The staff and service are impeccable. I highly recommend you go check them out.

Yelp
Wow! Without a doubt, this is one of THE BEST dining experiences in Ensenada. We've been here multiple times over multiple years and it NEVER disappoints. 10/10 would recommend to anyone from 2 people to larger groups, amazing!

Yelp
Simply incredible. A truly enchanting, unforgettable dining experience. Hats off to Javier aka Javi and his team for what they've created. The location is magical. Hiding in plain sight behind concrete walls and a wine shop is an outdoor wonderland: gorgeous trees, string lights, and comfortable seating. The staff could not have been more warm and welcoming. Though it was our first time, we felt like regulars. Actually, we felt like family. Though there was a QR code menu, Javi asked how hungry we were and if we had any dietary restrictions. Then he chose two perfect dishes. 1) Grilled zucchini topped with feta, sun dried tomatoes, and olive oil. It was simply perfect. Tender, flavorful, delicate, and balanced. Light and delicious - the perfect way to start our meal. 2) Seabass: grilled to absolute perfection. As fresh as can be, well-seasoned, and paired with risotto and salad. The former was creamy, rich deliciousness and the lighter provided a great contrast to the other elements on the plate. By the way, you get a perfect side dish of jicama topped with spice and three distinct salsas to compliment your meal. 3) Dessert! corn cake. Sublime. Not too sweet or decadent. A perfect ending to the meal. It's hard to imagine someone not falling in love with this restaurant. A must-visit when in Ensenada. Cannot wait for our next visit so we can try more of the menu, enjoy the dining space, and of course, connect with the amazing staff. Thank you!

Yelp
Great place for dinner with a big group in Ensenada, with a great outdoor space beneath some trees with large tables. They do family style and will bring you out a few of each dish based on how many people you have. Our waiter made suggestions for all of our dishes and did a great job with the amount of food and selections - we loved everything we ate! For food we got: - Ahi tuna: really amazing seasoning on the outside, a mix of blackened and sesame seeds, and seared slightly so not totally raw with a side salad - Brie quesadilla: never would have thought to put Brie into a quesadilla but it was delicious, one of my favorite items - Spinach and artichoke dip: this was almost like a deconstructed artichoke dip with the artichokes on top of tomatoes, cheese, and avocado with some type of oil and herb based sauce on top and bread to eat it with. It was very refreshing. - Fish: very light in an Asian inspired soy based sauce - Octopus tacos: people loved this and it comes on a fun build your own board, but I could eat because I'm allergic - Scallops: also a favorite of the night from the table - Sausage tacos: surprisingly very good although not the type of sausage I expected them to come with - more of a hot dog type of situation - Steak frites: fries had delicious seasoning and steak was also good but I'm not a huge steak person Drinks: - carajillo: very delicious with strong coffee, will definitely put a pep in your step! - Mezcal drink with cucumber and pineapple maybe: refreshing and tasty - Whiskey drink: some people got a purplish whiskey drink in a coupe glass that was also delicious Our table ordered plenty for the group of 10 and about 3 drinks each and it was such a reasonable price. Great vibes, food, service And would definitely come back!

Yelp
Had an amazing time at Boules. We hung out with the owner and enjoyed a few yummy dishes, huitlacoche tacos, artichoke, tomato and avocado terrine and some lovely lamb chops. Nice atmosphere, friendly people. Can't wait to go back and have a game!

Yelp
Tasty food, good service and very cozy. As a foreigner my husband and I often get confused/wonder what is written in the menu because we barely speak the language but adventurous enough to explore the area. The owner came to our rescue and explain the menu. A very friendly guy and accommodating! Gets 5 star in my book not only for accommodation but because the food is absolutely tasty!

Payley A.

Yelp
If I could give it 10 stars I would. Some of the best food I've had, period. Every dish we tried was amazing as were the cocktails. The ambiance was also wonderful and the overall energy of the place and the staff were top notch. Worth the drive to Baja just to visit this place alone.

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. A hidden gem in Ensenada! Will definitely be returning on future trips!

Yelp
This place is awesome. Great food, great service, ambiance is nice. I loved it and have gone back a couple of time. Este lugar esta phenomenal. Excelente comida, servicio, y ambiente. Me encanto y pienso frecuentarlo mucho mas.

Richard L.

Yelp
Main issue here the service sucks really bad and out of 10servers 2-3 were great the rest are a bunch of young guys just cussing in front of customers and just standing ducks with no communication with customers took 15-20min for a server to even take our drink order. But! The food was great if it wasn't for the service I'd give it 5 stars the whole restaurant is visually appealing.
google avatar

Jolene M.

Yelp
It was okay. Setting is beautiful. Food was less than good. My pork chops were ALL fat. Grizzle fat. Inedible. And covered in sauce. My husbands octopus tasted like it came from a can. Exceptionally fishy & tough. But they are always busy. The restaurant was a nice break from the cruise ship vibe in town, but by no means great. We wouldn't return.
google avatar

Azkaser C.

Yelp
What a great place. Excellent menu, something for everyone. Geat beer and cocktails. Make sure you make a reservation for your dining. Workers from servers to the owner (Javier) are pleasant.
google avatar

Nina L.

Yelp
My friends and I loved everything about this restaurant. The service was top notch, the ambiance was perfect and the food was muy excelente! The sashimi appetizer was so fresh and perfectly seasoned. The seafood risotto was delicious and very filling. I loved my vodka and dragonfruit drink and my friend loved her margaritas. The servers were so attentive and helpful. And the bill was 1/4 of what it would have cost in the Bay Area or Los Angeles. I would definitely come back here.

Yelp
Had a reservation for my large group and we just happened to arrive right as the after party for a international bocci ball tournament was arriving, so we had probably a different experience than most have. Our waiter came over and with a laugh let us know that "the menu is shit tonight" because they had run out of a lot of things due to the amount of people there. He took care of us though and made recommendations based on what we were in to. He even helped find us something that worked for our groups dietary restrictions. We started with a some mezcal cocktails that were light and really easy to drink paired with some jicama and some incredibly robust (and spicy) salsas. From there we had some yellowtail sashimi that had a beautiful miso sauce and jalapeño. The hits kept coming with a savory tacos de cicina, tacos huitlacochce, queso fundido, and calabaza asada to name a few. It was all heavenly! After we were thoroughly stuffed someone ordered all the deserts, and though I thought I couldn't eat anything else - one taste of the each of the deserts made it all worthwhile. If you're in Ensenada and want to eat unique Mexican cuisine in a spot with a cool outdoor vibe and drinks, this is your spot!
google avatar

Joslyn C.

Yelp
FANTASTIC!! The food was superb. Best food I've had in all of Ensenada. Definitely will go back for the risotto & sushi!!

Mike M.

Yelp
This place is very special, and I'm not sure if it could be replicated anyplace else in the world. The wait staff and bar team was absolutely phenomenal, second to none. Negroni was perfect and there were many not so common spirits - and a variety of craft beer styles - behind the bar. Despite this place being more wine centric. There was something for everyone! The food came out quickly yet was prepared with a level that typically makes you wait. We ordered many different plates, but the ceviche and artichoke dip blew us a way. "Fresh" was the main thing that came to mind while we dined. The overall vibe cannot really be described, so you need to experience for yourself. It's probably going to be your favorite too. Tranquilo!
google avatar

Audren B.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible place to eat, get drinks, and meet with friends or family. The atmosphere is very modern yet charming and inviting. It's definitely a great place if you want to get away from the touristy areas of downtown. I can't believe how delicious the food was! Please come hungry because you're going to order plate after plate after you taste how good it is. This place will be a main stop for me and my friends!

Susana R.

Yelp
Good service and food. Delicious food everytime. Outdoors and comfy seating. Thank you. Great place. Highly recommend.

Yelp
Really disappointed with this place. From the beginning we never experienced a good vibe. This is the first time in a while that I struck out. My wife and I fell trap to a review from a pretty good reliable source. Crossing South (KPBS) host Jorge had a excellent review of this place. He got a recommendation from someone and he absolutely raved about this place. Unfortunately we will not be returning. The service was so lousy I could not wait to just exit after paying. Yes the owner probably did come by but it was not a real authentic visit. He just came by to check on how things were going, we were fooled. I kept thinking the ambience looks awesome and what seemed the clientele all seemed very well taken care of. I kept trying in mind that things would turn around. My wife and I felt like the service was just so rough for a beautiful place. From the start off none of the waiters seemed to give us any type exceptional service. You would expect something a bit better since the menu selection is pretty awesome. We must admit the food was good but it was not at the level of other places we have been to in Mexico. That was a big disappointment also that Tetuano was not available at the moment. When we got our dishes they were not brought even close to one another. The steak arrived 20 minutes after my wifes order. She ordered the fish of the day. Just to give you a heads up we did not even tip. Our bill came out to a little bit under 90 dollars, which is very reasonable for a steak dinner , fish of the day , and a couple appetizers, and a few drinks. It would have been a tab bit more if we ordered desert, but getting any sort of attention from any of the waiters was a horrific experience. Just a heads up if anyone does decide to experience this unique tragedy there is no set waiter. All the waiters seemed to be male by the way. Which usually is not a problem, but it seemed they were all just as bad as one another. They did a-lot of walking by and not checking up. When they took our order did not even give any type of suggestions. We mentioned to the order taker that this was out first time, that did not even matter. I feel bad the owner getting a bad review but I guess you have to either be a local to get better service or know the owner or maybe have a food show to get the real experience here. Here was my last and final statement, if you think I left a tip you must be insane. I love watching Reservoir Dogs, that is one of my Quentin Taratino movies , and if you know you know. You always leave a tip, even of you don't believe on tipping. They did not get any help from me. This is a special weekend for my wife, I brought her down to Ensenada for her birthday, and this place helped me out. I am sure we won't be getting this type of service anywhere today and tomorrow, the reason I will be sticking to places we know. I don't want to ruin her Birthday day today. Playing it safe! Usually I could say I would give a place like this a second chance but talking to a local, she told me that is a common thing around this town. Usually where the food is decent the service suffers. I rather go where my business matters and be treated a little bit like they appreciate your business than going to a spiffy place like this. Just know what to expect if you dare go to this place, I rather go spend my money somewhere else. A place like this would not survive anywhere else. If you want to know how to service your client-ale, take notes from a little hole in the wall place in Chula Vista. It's called Italgo. Its on Broadway, the service will blow your mind and the pricing is equivalent to this torture chamber. I have so many other reasons I can give but rather not, because I want to enjoy a nice day with my special date. We are celebrating life. My wife has dealt with so much in the past years with health concerns and is currently dealing with a new concern also. Life is short to be bitter about just having lousy service, but when you want to celebrate life you wish you could do in a place we thought we could. Thank you for letting us down so bad, enjoy your tip money, please share it equally. I am sure thats what you do with your tips anyways, and it shows. So when you don't get it a tip it really doesn't burn like how I felt with the lousiest service in Ensenada. Even my Fenix fish taco stand that I have been visiting for close to 30 years blows doors off your roof. Oh you have a partial roof. Loved your set up but you need to improve so much in so many ways. Hasta la vista baby, Never coming near you again. Me not love you guys, long time. Peace out, glad you are not in the national defense business because your rockets would suck probably.

Ryan F.

Yelp
Great food, drinks, atmostphere here. Hoping to visit again this summer! I would eat here daily

Yelp
Cute place, very "trendy" outdoors seating, great service Food is pretty high priced, menu isn't that broad in options Just don't sense given the amount and quality of food is worth the prices. The place is "cool", for students, younger folks, cute girls from colleges, but for a restaurant the menu options and prices just don't impress over 3 stars. Lo Se...

Yelp
Called and called to make a reservation with no answer. So we just showed up. We asked to be seated and they said they were full. They said they DON'T ANSWER THE PHONE once reservations are full. WTF?. THATS RUDE. We just left.

Yelp
Randomly came across this place when we were looking for a place to eat and lounge around Ensenada. We got there and was greeted nicely by the server and the owner. They explained the menu to us since we couldn't understand Spanish. Gave wonderful recommendations as well. The drinks were good and the food as well. It was very light and clean flavors. The salsa were so spicy though so watch out! Such an unexpected gem! The ambiance was very relaxing definitely a nice date place. Would come back here again when I visit Ensenada.

Yelp
This was my favorite restaurant in Ensenada. Cute, outdoor ambience, perfect for date night or a group outing. A hidden gem, away from the more touristy area. I had a super refreshing house margarita and the BEST sangria I've ever had. We weren't too sure about the menu, so our server helped us out and all suggestions were great. Octopus ceviche was very good, not chewy. I can't recall what else we ordered but everything was excellent. The little dog running around going after the bones was adorable too.

Simon S.

Yelp
Wow! I am blown away by this amazing place. Great outdoor atmosphere and very cozy, great waiter staff and services. The food is really the start of the show. Very flavorful food, clean and healthy. The owner and his son was very welcoming and great to chat with

Yelp
One of the best steaks I've ever had - I would say #2 or #3. The ribeye was so tender, cooked to perfection, seasoned wonderfully, and melted in my mouth. I'm basically drooling just thinking of it now. The margaritas were very fresh with slices of cucumber in them which added a nice earthy element. The flank steak tacos were loaded with steak and made a great appetizer. My friend had nothing but good things to say about the oysters as well.

Joshua G.

Yelp
The ambience felt the Night at the Roxbury...the only thing that was missing was Haddaway's 'What is Love' song playing in the background and the staff doing the head bob. It was that kind of vibe. The menu looks great, and the restaurant was nicely decorated. Made a reservation online for dinner, when we arrived there was no one at the door to help seat customers. After waiting for a while, I made my way to the bar to try to see if I could have someone help me. As I was waiting, a gentleman, who must have been friends with one of the managers, walked in and said he had some extra friends of his who needed a table. After a few bro hugs, they we seated right away. I was finally able to flag down a server to let him know I had a reservation. The floor manager, who was at the bar acknowledge it, and then said to wait at the door and they would attend to us. As we were waiting, people kept coming in going ahead of us, more bro hugs for the servers, and pulling tables that were unoccupied to join their friends at a larger table. After waiting for a while with no one checking on us, we decided to leave. Our reservation was for 8pm, which I read in other comments seems to be their peak hours. Seems like a lot of the local elite of Ensenada begin to just walk in at this time and find someone they know who works there to seat them. Recommend going earlier for dinner, before the Night at the Roxbury crowd arrives.

Yelp
Humble, unassuming entrance but magic awaits inside. I'm not going to lie, I almost don't want you to come here because I'm afraid that this place will become packed, because the place is so amazing!!! I don't give out 5 star ratings but this place takes my heart instantly. I love the vibe, drinks and food; it's simply delightful. I had a margarita, awesome - so light and crisp. We ordered 5 dishes to share and all had great tastes and flavors, wonderful! If you come here, order everything!

Yelp
This was our first meal in Ensenada and by far my favorite meal of the entire trip. From my understanding we went to Boules new location in downtown Ensenada, prior it was located next to the ocean. We had driven down on a Wednesday and the 5 of us were starving. Becky put this as the first spot to hit up when we got in. So once we settled into the house we booked through airbnb, we drove down to Boules for dinner. We parked right out front and walked in. We didn't need reservations for this place. Outdoor seating with bocce ball on the side. They've got an outdoor oven. Cute outdoor patio seating. The owner Javie, greeted us. He was so nice! Tristan told him to serve us whatever he recommended and everything was amazing! My favorite dishes here were the Blue Fin Tuna sashimi served with bread. The bread was perfect, not too soft and not too hard. Put a little tuna on top and it melts in your mouth. Also best salad I had was from here, I think it was the dressing that made it amazing. The salad came with the fish dish. They were so nice, we had a dog with us, and they gave us a good hunk of chicken to feed to him! While we were leaving we mentioned to Javie we were going fishing the following day, and he offered to grill up our fish the next day if we caught any!!! If I ever go back down here, this would be my first stop for food! It was delicious!

Yelp
DO NOT BRING CHILDREN HERE. Even after speaking with the owner they still did not bring our children's food, which was 4 asada tacos and fries. We told two waiters 2 times and the owner and they still did not bring anything. HORRIBLE SERVICE. NO TRAIGA NIÑOS AQUÍ. Incluso después de hablar con el propietario, todavía no trajeron la comida de nuestros niños, que era 4 tacos y papas asada. Se lo dijimos a dos camareros 2 veces y el propietario y todavía no trajeron nada.

Yelp
The food was excellent. Sadly, the host was pretty rude to us but the service and food made up for the bad start.

Yelp
The outside of the place is very low key. But when you walk in, the restaurant is in a big patio and the decoration is very chic. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We were walk in but we got a table immediately. The food is SO GOOD. Highly recommend the Pulpo Taquero. The price is very friendly considering the service, the ambiance and quality of food. The dessert is PHENOMENAL. Cheesecake and pan de elote, we finished every bit of it. Awesome experience

Yelp
Boules was phenomenal. I'm vegetarian and my fiance is not, and both of us can't wait to return to this restaurant in June. There were so many vegetarian options - 3 different risottos and 3 or 4 pasta dishes. I had the huitlacoche risotto and couldn't stop eating. And, as an added touch, Boules had local Ensenada beers.

Yelp
I love this place. I prefer to just have the appetizers. The ambience is great. Well worth a visit.

Yelp
I can safely say we were just served one of the worst meals we have ever eaten and can't believe we paid $40USD for indigestion. The quality of each dish was horribly inconsistent - the risotto was over salted, the fish was overcooked and underwhelming. I wish I had taken a picture of the carnitas "ravioli" which was just a mushy pasta in a bland white sauce covering bits of dried meat. tl;dr The ambience was nice - the service was fine - the "pulpo anchiote" was ok - but the rest of the food was overpriced and terrible. Please find yourself another cook.
