The Best Restaurants for Juicy Steaks Around Phoenix

"This local institution has grown to four locations within Phoenix, including overlooking the outfield at Chase Field baseball stadium. As the name suggests, there are lots of bourbons — as well as other whiskeys and Scotches — to choose from alongside a large offering of meats. All the standard steakhouse fare is here, and for a little extra flair, choose the table side flambé with the restaurant’s personal barrel. The extensive list of sides will round out the comforting, upscale meal." - Asonta Benetti, jamiekillin

If you’re new to whiskey or simply can’t decide, try one of over a dozen flights offered. And for those who are in the mood for something really special, pick a pour off of the Reserve list, which includes Glenfiddich 30-year and Woodford Reserve Baccarat Edition." - Asonta Benetti

Had an amazing meal here the day after Christmas. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, the food was perfect, and the overall experience was high end and worth the price we paid. It’s worth noting that we had a minor issue with the steak preparation that was communicated before it was brought to our table when we were offered a redo on the preparation. We declined and I felt there was no real issue at all with my meal. They made a point of providing a complimentary dessert to both of us at the end of the meal which was greatly appreciated. I’ll definitely return here in future visits to Scottsdale.

I really enjoyed my visit to Bourbon & Bones. The environment is great definitely a bit smaller than I expected, but in a cute, intimate way that works well for the vibe they’re going for. The service was genuinely good, and our waitress, Lindsay, was amazing. She had great recommendations and really helped guide us through the menu. My boyfriend ordered the rib cap steak and said it was pretty good. It doesn’t compare to Don’s Prime in Vegas, but he still enjoyed it overall. As for me, my steak, the side items, and the dessert were all really tasty. I’d definitely recommend everything I ordered. If I had to call something out, the cocktails weren’t my favorite I’ve had better so just something to keep in mind. But the food itself was solid, and the overall experience was great. I’d recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys a whiskey- or bourbon-forward dining experience. It’s a cozy place with good food, great service, and a nice atmosphere.

Google
Definitely a cute place. The hot rock A5 wagyu is outstanding. Everyone I was with had the 10 oz filet and I had the bone in ribeye. Everything was cooked to the right temp, however I will say there was far too much char on my ribeye which made it not as enjoyable. Some of the bourbon on the menu couldn’t be served as they didn’t have all allocated bottles in which was unfortunate. Sides were fine. Table loved the cheesy potatoes and baked potatoes. Mashed potatoes were fine but the Mac and cheese definitely could’ve used more cheese and seasoning. Espresso martini was pretty good. Dessert for all of us was extremely disappointing. Fudge cake was super dry crème brûlée was overly thick, bourbon butter cake wasn’t anything special. The bourbon float, if you’re looking for a buzz, this is it, probably the only one worth the money.

With over 600 types of whiskey and bourbon you're sure to find one for your taste. The food is excellent with several dining options to choose from. The wait staff here leaves you wanting nothing.

The ambiance was amazing at Bourbon & Bones as well as the service! The pork chop was perfection and the salmon was great as well. Drinks were strong and tasty. We will definitely be back

Google
Bourbon & Bones is easily one of the best dining experiences in Arizona. The atmosphere is upscale but comfortable, and the service is outstanding from start to finish. The steaks are cooked perfectly — tender, flavorful, and worth every penny. Their sides and appetizers are just as impressive, and the cocktail selection is top tier. Everything about this place feels intentional and high quality. If you’re looking for an amazing dinner spot with great food, great drinks, and great service, Bourbon & Bones is absolutely the place to go.

Google
Just wonderful. We'll get to the food in a minute but I've got to start with the service. From beginning to end absolutely spectacular. And not just the server (she was amazing) but at every level. Hostess, wonderful. Young man that filled the water glasses and brought drinks, fabulous. Even the folks that boxes up the take home, delightful!! Service at this level requires commitment and training at the highest levels. Just top notch. Food obviously followed suit. Started with buratta and it was just sublime and the plating was perfect. The star of the apps was definitely the grilled octopus. Just perfectly cooked and seasoned and tender as could be. That alone should bring you back but the entrees were so well done also. Wagyu ribeye cap steak (sliced) was just one of those pieces of meat that is memorable. So rich, incredible flavor, perfectly cooked. Also did diver scallops and lobster that was perfection. Thought we were done, memorable meal , home. But we did the creme brulee (solid, traditional) and the bourbon butter cake. I have to say the butter cake might be in my top 5 all time desserts. It created a new tier of butter cake for me and I've probably eaten over 100. Really, truly special. Must stop and do the whole menu. Gotta have the apps, mains (also did a wonderful wedge) and dessert. Just go.

Google
Katie was our server and gave great suggestions. Bison & wagyu steak were perfect. Hector checked on us to make sure everything was going well. All the servers were on top of it and the dining by the open windows was so nice on a warm evening. Definitely will go again when in town.

Yelp
What an outstasnding night! People at the bar here are always so friendly! Mom and I enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass (which she loved) and the Prime New York steak, Pittsburg Style - I loved it, though would have loved a bit more crispy char though next time I'd go with a fattier Ribeye! The creamed spinach was also great, and the truffle oil and truffle salt on the side were exquisite! Kahlil's service was outstanding as always! Such a treat to see him! Had great banter with several folks nearby us at the bar and can't wait togoback!

Yelp
The A5 wagyu steak we had first came out cold, I found out because I let a couple friends try it and they said it was not tasty, just cold fat, and then when they said that my partner and I took a bite and yes it was very cold. So they took the remainder back and brought it back warm, we got to experience half of the dish at the correct temperature. Even then, we felt the steak was so thinly sliced that all we tasted was fat and there was no texture to the meat. Mind you, we love A5 wagyu steak, but we've never had it so thinly sliced before we've only had it as a whole steak. Also, when I was at the restaurant the night before I was so intrigued by the Tableside Flambe, I wanted to order it, I thought it would ruin wagyu steak so I ordered rack of lamb so I can have the cool show with my meal. The only issue was even though I had discussed that I wanted that cool show and which dishes would go well with that, it was never discussed to me that I should change seats. So the whole show was going on so far away from me that I didn't get to enjoy or view it at all. I get it, this seems like a small and dumb thing to complain about, I even feel weird typing it, but when I go to Mastros I get the cocktails with the dry ice, or sit by the live entertainment, here I wanted the cool flaming effect to be in eyesight. So it was just a bummer. There was none sitting to the left of us, they could have also asked who it was for and pushed the table a little to bring the show. A friend of mine recorded it and sent it to me so I could see it. But it's not the same. It was our anniversary and when I made the reservation I asked the girl who in person the night before to put notes about that, the butter cake didn't even have anything special about it , and I guess they don't comp deserts for celebrations? Or maybe those notes never reached because many other people do get desserts comped and even have it decorated for birthdays and anniversaries. But we did not. The experience just felt not so special and it was all 6 of our first time coming. We split the check just the two of us spent $408 plus $80 tip. Almost $500 and I can say that we weren't very pleased.

Yelp
I've dined her three times, most recently on an anniversary trip with my wife. The vibes are good and they have a big selection of whiskey and cocktails. I've had their old fashioned which is really well made. I love their frozen whiskey and coke. Imagine a spiked coke slurpee/icee. The food is typical steakhouse fare. I've had their Prime Rib special which is great value. It comes with sides and is delicious. They have a big selection of steak butters/sauces you can add to your steak. I had the ghost pepper butter which was awesome, but they no longer had it on my last visit. The French Onion Soup is good as well. Service has bern great on my visits. Bourbon and Bone is a great choice for a nice dinner out while in Scottsdale.

Yelp
We had a holiday dinner party for 12 on a Thursday night. The place was rather packed and lively. In summary, food was underwhelming, service could be better, and the manager could use additional training. Would not come back anytime soon. The only person worth mentioning was our busboy who was super attentive, more so than our waiter. My husband ordered Diet Coke and I had warm water and not once we had to ask for a refill! Food was ok. We had a bunch of appetizers: Stuffed Dates - didn't try but looked good Calamari - nice and tender but nothing outstanding Beef Carpaccio - thinly sliced and served with crispy crostini Truffle Burrata - cheese was very fresh Grilled Octopus - cooked perfectly, very tender Caprese Salad - very fresh, the balsamic caviar was a nice touch Iceberg Wedge - drowned in blue cheese dressing so make sure you like blue cheese Entree: Bone-in Ribeye: sizeable but lacking flavor Wagyu Sirloin: definitely the cut to go for because my husband seemed to enjoy it Bone Marrow Butter - not much flavor Desserts: Butter Cake: they claimed it's their best dessert. Definitely not worth the calories. It's more of a lemon pound cake and not the gooey butter cake you would expect. Vanilla Creme Brulee: super bland. No specs of vanilla bean, and texture was not silky or velvety. At the end of the night, I had told one of the managers that we didn't get the broccoli we ordered and asked for it to be taken off the bill. Apparently he went to check with the kitchen staff, came back to the other end of our table to ask if they had the broccoli! Everyone was shocked and confirmed that we DID NOT get the broccoli. I asked why he would think I lied about the $16 broccoli which is not even 1% of our bill. He claimed he was doing his due diligence. What a joke!

Yelp
Came in for dinner. The bacon wrapped dates were incredible!!! Definitely must get those if you're coming in. Staff at the front was amazing and very accommodating. Steak was delicious, if you're looking for a spot for a dinner to treat yourself, I would check out Bourbon and Bones

Yelp
Came here with a large party for a birthday celebration. The atmosphere was relaxed but upscale. The drinks were amazing, the scallops melted in your mouth. The ceviche was so good, the cocktail shrimp was amazing and the flat iron wagyu was to die for. I would come back here for happy hour or another special event.

Yelp
Went here to celebrate my son's graduation from ASU. At 8:15 the house was quite full. Glad we booked a reservation. Aesthetically, it's perfect. Dimly lit but not too dark. Could read the menu easily. Tables were comfortable and elegant. I would say this is a fine steakhouse that is definitely bourbon centric. However if you do not enjoy bourbon nor steak, there are plenty of options. I ordered the sea-bass. Which comes on top a pea/orzo in a cream sauce. Oh wow. It was amazing. My son ordered the 22 oz rib eye steak. Fully knowing it would be too big to eat, which it was. It was thick, cooked perfectly and completely delicious. I know its pricey but it is well worth the 81 dollar price tag. He added a wine reduction sauce and bone morrow butter to enhance the flavor, which it completely added to the steak. For dessert we ordered the bourbon butter cake. Could taste the subtle bourbon inside it. That dessert I did not need to know about as I will want it now every time I come to Tempe/Scottsdale. Yum. Our server, Anthony was fantastic. He had a great personality and help guide our selections. I dont like bourbon and he helped me find the perfect drink, fizzing flower He and his busboy were attentive to every detail. Highly recommend him. Thank you Bourbon and Bones for making my son's graduation dinner memorable and special.

Yelp
Brought my hubby here for a special dinner for his birthday. The environment IS beautiful, but I can't believe they don't have some kind of buffer between the front door and tables. We were seated right by the front door which created a cold draft every time it opened. I left my coat on the whole time we were there because of the cold draft created every time the door opened. Our filets were delicious and perfectly cooked. The truffle butter and mushrooms were also tasty. The side dishes we ordered were just ok. The sweet potato soufflé had a thick crust of plain brown sugar on top and the best part of the brussel sprouts was the bacon. Service was excellent but still hard to justify the $250 cost for two filets (one regular and one petite) two side dishes and two sodas!
google avatar

Yelp
This is one of my favorite steakhouses to go to. The ambiance in here is always high energy and gives a low dark scenery. We finally tried the Japanese waygu steak and let's just say it's worth every penny!! And we also got the NY ribeye which was phenomenal. The service was good for it being a busy night and the drinks were on point. Definitely a place you have to go for a good steak. And the Brussels sprouts will blow your mind.
google avatar

Yelp
Inside is nice and dark, the way a steakhouse should be We came in for Valentine's Day and we're not disappointed. Everyone was so nice from the guy who opened the door for us to the waiters and bussers and everyone we encountered Got a smoked old fashioned with tequila and it was great. Nice presentation on the serve with a wine decanter filled with smoke For apps we got the onion soup and the tomato salad, and the sashimi platter For our entrees we got the 24 oz ribeye and the filet. Steak was cooked perfectly. For our sides we got the corn, the orzo and a baked potato. Everything was delicious Was a great meal, great experience

Yelp
Thomas and team did an amazing job again. Amazing food, great service, fantastic ambiance. Just as good for a dinner out or party/special event.

Yelp

Yelp
Amazing food and service at the bar. Steak was perfectly cooked, calamari was flavorful.

Yelp
Exceptional atmosphere and food! I had dinner at the bar and the salad, bone-in Ribeye, and potato were exceptional! Great service too! Scottsdale's top steakhouse.

Yelp
We love Bourbon & Bones. Great location , food and service. There are a lot of steakhouses in Phoenix/Scottsdale and some great national chains like Ruth's Chris & Capitol Grill...but for a local high end restaurant this should be high on your list. First of all, always bustling around Old Town and they have valet. Well worth the tip. For the Summer Menu it's $79 and I picked a shrimp cocktail, 6oz filet, mashed potatoes and crème brûlée . Upgraded to the pepper crust on the filet. What a great deal from now until early October during the week (not the weekend). Perfect for a Winey Wednesday. My wife loves their very dirty martini's on the rocks complete with ext tin a shaker. It can be expensive with alcohol so for many it's a special occasion place ...but with this summer special a great way to take advantage of a special place!

Yelp
My husband and I had an incredible dining experience at Bourbon and Bones! We started with the seared scallops, and they were so amazing we had to order a second round. The service was impeccable and so professional; our server, Tori, was fantastic and recommended we try the country mashed potatoes with the crab signature enhancement. It was a game-changer--so good! For my entree, I had the 10oz filet with chimichurri sauce. The chimichurri had a perfect zing that really enhanced the flavor of the steak. My husband's Prime Bone-in Ribeye was cooked to perfection. We also ordered the Brussels sprouts and the bourbon butter asparagus, which were both delicious. The lighting was well-lit, which made the dining experience that much more perfect. We left feeling happy and completely fulfilled. We'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible!!! If I could give this restaurant 100 stars, I would. The service is phenomenal, the food and drinks were delicious, and the ambiance felt like such a great date spot. I came in with one of my girlfriends for dinner and we were in awe. Jennifer was our server; so knowledgeable, attentive, and kind! We weren't drinking alcohol, but she had the best mocktail recommendations. The bacon wrapped bleu cheese dates and pork belly apps were mouth watering. Filet and sides were sooo good. However, the real stars of the show were the desserts we ordered. The apple crumble with ice cream took my breath away with every bite! I wish I lived in AZ so I could eat here every week.

Yelp
Went with a group of 13 for a Bach trip and was told we had to spend a $1750 minimum. Then after ordering food and drinking, server immediately came over telling us we were $600 away from minimum. Just a very weird vibe. We ordered dessert and was told we were still $414 away very Rudely. So we told the staff just to buy shots for everyone until we hit the minimum. Whenever we got the check we found out we already hit the limit and was lied to in order get extra money out and went another $260 over. Food was good but staff were very rude and made everyone feel uncomfortable. Very demanding and just poor management. I don't think I'd ever be back.

Yelp
Fabulous food. Large portions, great for sharing. Cocktails were fabulous. This was my first time here and I was impressed. Service was exceptional. Ambiance was relaxing, and all other patrons seemed to be enjoying it as well. Will be back. Loved it.

GD B.

Yelp
This place is over the top fake BS. Stupidly expensive steak. Cold atmosphere. Just a bad vibe all the way around. The previous steak house was over the top expensive but it had a good, warm vibe and good food. They should go back to that.
google avatar

Yelp
My companions and I arrived just before 4 p.m., the posted opening time listed both online and on the door. We were told the main dining area wouldn't open until 5 p.m., and that all tables -- even the bar high-tops -- were already "spoken for," despite the restaurant being completely empty. When I questioned it, a manager suddenly found a way to seat us, which only confirmed what I suspected from the start. By then, the staff's attitude had shifted from unwelcoming to defensive. It felt like a lack of respect -- and, frankly, like we were being judged for who we were. As an older guest with companions of color, that impression was hard to ignore. The meal itself was fine, but service and sincerity matter more. I left no tip, not out of spite, but because genuine hospitality was absent from start to finish. A restaurant can have great food and polished decor, but when hospitality forgets the guest, it forgets its purpose

Yelp
Great Steak! Great Service! Great Ambiance! We came to Bourbon & Bones for my 46th birthday, this place is amazing!

Yelp
The food was delicious and service staff was great. The filet with garlic butter was perfect and the baked potato was huge!

Yelp
So far, best steakhouse I've been to in Scottsdale. The braised short rib came off the bone and sat on a bed of smashed potatoes. It was amazing (see pic attached). I happened to sit across from the main bartender (bar) area where the restaurant manager was hanging out. She, Chantea was delightful and extremely busy but found time to explain the restaurant concept and dishes. The ambiance here is easy going. There's some upbeat music in the background but nothing wild. Their drinks did not disappoint.

Yelp
First and foremost, if you want to maximize your dining experience, make sure to ask for seating in "Katie's" section. Wow! She shows that there are levels to serving. Southern charm, extremely knowledgeable of the menu and makes you feel like she's a step ahead of what you're thinking you need. Definitely an asset to the team. We were seated which I feel oat the best seat in the house. Right at the corner where the windows open up to Scottsdale blvd. Front row. We had the grilled octopus (phenomenal) the pork belly (good) and a house salad w blue cheese (delicious) Then we shared the filet with crab over asparagus, and the potatoes au gratin ( everything was PERFECT) For dessert we shared the bourbon float (delicious and nice bourbon flavor) and the butter cake (WOW!! Sans the cream cheese this blows Mastros butter cake out of the water) This is the place to go if you want amazing service, upscale lively ambiance and to show your palette and array of amazing flavors.

Yelp
I had a nice dining experience at this restaurant. It's a popular venue and they have a modern design that is comfortable, classy but a relaxing atmosphere. The restaurant is large with a lot of seating options but it can definitely get full quickly so reservations are a good idea. They have a huge selection of bourbons and even have tastings which are very popular. The service was excellent and friendly. I had the filet which was very good and the prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. I would definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Amira J.

Yelp
Phenomenal buratta, great ambiance. Lovely bartenders. My honey and I rolled in here last night without a reservation and sat at the bar. The staff was so sweet and guided us through the menu with great suggestions. I ordered the braised beef with mashed potatoes as my entree. 10/10 great portion sizes, just a bit pricey. Would definitely recommend for a romantic dinner date.

Yelp
Not coming back and warning others from my experience. Came in for a friend's birthday Saturday and the wait staff and food were both extremely disappointing. Got the tomato and mozzarella 'salad' expecting it to be a Caprese salad and it was a huge tomato with the center cut out, a humongous ball of mozzarella ontop and ONE Basil leaf on the side... the proportions were so weird and off. They were trying way too hard to be different and fancy. If I wanted a whole tomato, I'd go to the store and get it myself not for $18. The sides were all off as well in terms of proportions. I got the Mac and cheese and it was a lot, my boyfriend got the fries and paid more than me for them and he got less than my Mac and cheese. My other friend got mash potatoes and it could have fed the whole table and it was the least expensive item under the sides? How does that make any sense? After leaving, me and one of my friends both got sick from the food all night. Then the wait staff were extremely unpleasant. One ran into the back of my friend's chair and never apologized to her just gave her a dirty look, keep in mind she was a person of color. My other friends shared sided and after putting in 4 separate orders of sides and 2 never coming out, a wait staff member was flagged down to ask where the other 2 were and he replied 'I never put it in I thought that'd be way too much food for the 2 of you' which is extremely rude trying to insinuate they were fat and broke. Also if this was his opinion, he could have told them how big the sides were instead of just never communicating that at all. They also don't let you split the bill for big parties or get separate checks in the beginning so that was also ridiculous. Not to mention how loud it was in the restaurant you could barely hear the person sitting across from you. Overall horrible experience never supporting this place

Yelp
B&B always once of my fave places!!! Thank you for the great services and the happy hour menu is TEA! lol but everything is so good my fave on the happy hour menu are the meatballs and the skewers. I also have had dinner here often and my favorite side are the mushrooms and I am obsessed with the wedge salad (chef's kiss)!

Yelp
We wanted a high quality steakhouse during our visit to Scottsdale. We found Bourbon & Bones meeting those expectations. We started with a Caesar salad as we often do and it was delightful. My husband and I both got steaks and had a few table sides. The steaks were perfectly cooked and the red wine glaze I got paired perfectly. The options of flavored salt and choosing your own knife exceeded our expectations. The wine selection was excellent and my husband had only good things to say about the featured old fashioned. The servers were very attentive and made sure our waters and drinks were full and empty plates removed promptly. This place is spendy but if you are looking for an upscale restaurant for a special occasion or date night. I recommend.

Yelp
4.5 stars Out waiter though I forgot his name was excellent. Food was really good. I was a little annoyed you had to pay for large ice cubes for burbon drinks. It's a burbon estblishment that should be a duh. Came here for a birthday and it was all good. Would recommend coming here.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here for a birthday I had the monsoon margarita, petite filet mignon and fries. My favorite thing was probably the margarita it was very good the steak was butter smooth with every bite which was amazing and was cooked very well but the Flavor of the steak was lacking. In my opinion I think the seafood options were much better I tried some ceviche which was very flavorful and delicious also the jumbo shrimp was very fresh tasting and good as well. If i ever go back on another special occasion I would definitely get the seafood options vs the steaks.

Yelp
Absolutely incredible dining experience thanks to Brad! He gave us the best recommendations and he really went above and beyond to make our experience a 10/10. From drinks to appetizers to customizing our meals, Brad ensured that everything was fantastic for our evening. We will definitely be coming back and recommending this restaurant to our friends!

Yelp
Food was good overall with a few sides that were okay. Our server, seemed like a bit of, well it's hard to say however he was almost like a jerk - or maybe he was having a really bad day -!but he wasn't nice and he was a little slow on bringing drinks or coming back to the table when he said he would. He just was a bit of a sourpuss. We tried the pork belly appetizer which was tasty however the sauce was a little overwhelming - sweet and there was just too much of it. My choice was the double cut pork chop. Seasoning was excellent with just the right amount of garlic, spice and salt. The beef ribeye and the filet mignon however were completely lackluster. They had little seasoning, the flavor was boring if you can say that about a steak.... The lamb racks really were underseasoned and had a fishy note which now I can say I understand why people don't like lamb and a lot of folks use mint jelly to cover that weird flavor. They just didn't taste right because they weren't seasoned well at all. They needed some garlic and /or some pistachio crusting - something to help the strange flavor that this particular rack had. We had a reservation for 745 and we arrived and they were trying to set the table, that was fine we only waited a few minutes however there was a large group in the middle of this main dining room probably 16 to 20 people and they were LOUD. We are not old or have hearing problems but this place was probably 80 dB maybe higher should've checked it on my phone. They really shouldn't put big parties like that in the middle of the main dining room everybody around them couldn't hear themselves they were so loud! The side dishes except for the asparagus I have to say were somewhat disappointing. The au gratin or chunky potatoes with cheese and bacon were tasty but needed salt, the corn was corn perfectly fine, the mashed we're good but nothing spectacular asparagus however we're nice and large, well seasoned and well cooked - not overcooked and not raw and crispy like some places. We didn't have dessert so I can't speak to that. For the price I expected more so I don't think I we would return for a regular meal unless someone else was buying which was the case this time.

Yelp
Excellent salmon. Pricey! Went here one evening after work. Very crowded, but the food was great!

Yelp
This place is fabulous. Service beyond compare. Steak melts in your mouth. Definitely an adult vibe which we appreciated! Was visiting from California and my only critique would be "why don't we have one of these close by". Enjoy Arizona!

Yelp
This was our first time dining at Bourbon and Bones in Old Town Scottsdale. . We made a reservation for Easter Brunch and had a lovely experience. We enjoyed Avocado Benedict, Lobster Benedict and Pork Belly. All were delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server was attentive and friendly. We are looking forward to dining again soon.

Yelp
Great service, delicious food and good cocktails! We got lucky without a reservation on a Friday night and scored two bar seats. We tried the bone in ribeye, mushrooms and creamy garlic mashed potatoes. Everything was flavorful and we enjoyed our meal. Good date night spot to come on for vacation. *If you want a table make a reservation in advance!

Yelp
Great food but felt that it should be better for the price. My friend's steak was ordered medium and it came noticeably overcooked. The loaded potato felt underwhelming, but the truffle fries were amazing and loved the mac and cheese. I got the petite 6 oz filet and I'm not super picky on my steak, nor am I a connoisseur so I was pretty satisfied. Our server was amazing but I'm not sure if it's because we came early or if they had an event or were super busy in the other room, but our table didn't get any bread while every table around us did. 5PM beat the dinner rush, we were the first table sat on the left side but they were pretty packed on the right. Again not sure if it was an event or we were just odd timing but it felt really cozy and was easy to converse without yelling. Loved the server and the support he had taking care of us, they were all super sweet and attentive.

Yelp
So for the last 10 years, we've been going to Mastro's for our annual spring training steakhouse dinner night. This year we decided to change it up and give Bourbon and Bones a try. It was a great decision. Taking nothing away from Mastros, our total B&B experience was frankly better based upon a number of factors. 1. Service- The genuine friendly greeting when we walked in to the restaurant. I always feel the Mastros greeters are beautiful and pretentious. The greeting at B&B was genuinely friendly and happy to see us. Our server, Katy Jo, was what every guest wants from a server: expertise and knowledge of food, spirits and wine and genuine Midwest friendliness that makes every guest feel special and valued. We loved Katy Jo. B&B is lucky to have her. 2. Food: we started with ceviche and a dozen oysters. Great start. Caesar salads were delicious for our next course, our steaks were all seasoned well and grilled to the correct temperatures. Notably, every steak and side was set piping hot! Desserts were the butter cake, apple crisp, and the boozy root beer float. The apple crisp was everyone's favorite. The food overall was a 6 on a scale of 1-5. 3. Ambiance: where Mastros is dark and swanky, B&B is bright and open aired...the opposite of Mastros. If you sit at a high top table in the bar, the windows are fully opened and enhances the openness. We had fun and really enjoyed our first experience with B&B. We will be back next year.

Yelp
You can't miss this if you love bourbon or high quality steak! Can you say Wagyu??? I only stopped for after-dinner bourbon delights, but I saw the food and witnessed people's bliss as they ate. BOURBON They must carry 99% of all bourbons in distribution. I lived their flights which were preselected themes to compare bourbons/whiskeys in a category. I enjoyed the high proof flight. COMPLIMENTARY BACON They surprised me by bringing a ball jar with high quality, thick cut, complementary bacon. It was perfect pairing with my bourbon! ATMOSPHERE Upscale atmosphere but I felt comfortable at bar in denim. They were busy but found a place at the bar after only waiting a minute.

Yelp
Dinner one night, happy hour second night. Solid food for the price. We order the shrimp cocktail both days as they are enormous and taste awesome. We went with wagyu filet with the salt trio which was tender and flavorful. Both trips we ordered the cheesy potato side. The sauce is awesome and we like it better than the lobster mac sauce which is a solid choice too. We did the hot rock which was fun and for the happy hour price quite the deal. It gets busy so when we are down here we usually do a drive by and if there are open seats at the bar we head in. Service is spot on and attentive and food comes out quick. The ambiance is nice in the bar area with a couple of tvs. It is on our rotation when we are in town.

Yelp
Came here for dinner and coming from La were used to some pretty expensive pricing but this place took the cake. The seafood tower which we did mess up by not asking the price was a whopping $650 per tower. It was just some thin crab legs not even king crab, couple pieces of prawns, oysters, tiny crab claws, and lobster tail cut in half so probably just one and a half lobster tails which were overcooked. As you can see from the photo that's probably $300 worth of seafood. Maybe I'm used to California prices and maybe it's more expensive in Arizona with the proximity of seafood I don't know. Got the petite filet medium rare and as you can see from the photo that steak was pretty much blue and it was a lot of our steaks. I don't get how you make such a rookie mistake at such an expensive steak house. Other than that the service and drinks were amazing but yeah overall pretty meh experience.

Yelp
All was wonderful! The service, the menu, our table, the food, everything was and tasted amazing! "Katya," our server, was incredibly sweet, knowledgeable, and provided flawless service! Fantastic atmosphere! Extremely charming for a date evening to captivate gentlemen [just saying]! Every man/woman would love to be wined & dined in this place! I would absolutely appreciate being taken out on a date here [would be a dream]! My mother and I pampered ourselves together [this night], and we definitely enjoyed everything [particularly watching the grilled fire steaks being served]! Such an amazing atmosphere & incredibly enjoyable experience! Kindly keep everything as it is, Bourbon & Bones! NOT a fan of living so far away, I would definitely visit more often! One of the best martinis I've ever had in Scottsdale! We appreciate the wonderful evening! Looking forward to returning one day. Thank you. Here are some pictures to share from our evening:

Yelp
I dont know why I have not written a rewview yet, however it is long over due. The dinner we had the other night was just a small portion of the best meals we have had when we dine there. The quality of the food is always on point, the service is top notch, and the knowlege is hands down. You can tell a lot about the leaders of the restaurant by the professionalizm of the team as a whole. From the moment I made a reservation for our last dinner last tuesday to the day after when I recieved a call thanking us for joining and asking how our dinner was... everything in between was top notch hospitality.
