10 Houston Drive-Thrus for Boozy Frozen Slushies | Eater Houston

"A gigantic 32-ounce cup of margarita will only set drinkers back $9 at this daiquiri destination, which serves up drinks in flavors like cotton candy and the Obama, a mix of strawberry, White Russian, and blue raspberry flavors." - Claire Cahoon

The drinks were really good, but they were made before our food so by the time we left the drinks were juice and no slush. The food took a very long time to come out. As you can see in the pictures, nothing fancy. Honey mustard wings & hot sausage which all took over 30 minutes. There were two other tables, but only 1 there when we walked in and ordered. That hot sausage threw me off lol because I was expecting a link but it was actually good, not greasy & very flavorful. Not too spicy in my opinion but not without any spice at all. The place is decorated very nicely, lots of seating inside and out - they also have hookah that you can buy at every table.

I never write reviews, but the food was horrible. I usually go to the location on 12970 Westheimer Rd and I never have any issues. The food is always good and tastes great. I went to this location because it’s closer to my house, never again! The corn tasted spoiled and was just NASTY I literally spit it out. The potatoes tasted funny like they were old and the seasoning wasn’t good it just tasted old and it had a film over the top like when food sits out it gets that weird layer over it and the turkey necks themselves just tasted old like they’d been sitting, they were rubbery and hard. Everything tasted old and expired! However, the service was good, the guy at the window was nice and had great customer service.

The sausage and chicken gumbo was flavorful and great taste. As for the poboy & fries… it was ok… the fries weren’t crispy at all. The poboy itself was ok as well. As for services… there really wasn’t much of “Service” I ordered from the counter, picked up my food from the counter. I believe they thought it was Togo. All around a strong 3.5. I would like to come back and try the fish and seafood boil.

First, we are not locals. We are here on vacation and leaning on social media to find places with a nice vibe. Smokin’ Mirrors stood out to us and we wanted to see what it was about. For a place that is really cute inside the bar staff attitudes didn’t match the esthetics at all!!! From the time we walked in the door the customer service was horrible. The main female behind the bar spoke to us as if we owed her something or we had beef from high school. We came in for drinks and food that was advertised on IG as a Thursday night special. We didn’t see the menu items anywhere on the menu so we inquired about it with our not so lovely bartender and she spoke to my husband like he was stupid for asking about it. Her patience was nonexistent with our questions and inquiries. We made selections and processed with the night, but of course they took the order and then 10 minutes later there was an issue with supply of the food. The Kitchen staff came to us explaining that they didn’t have enough lamb chops so my husband got a steak instead and gave her instructions to make it medium in temperature. 7 minutes later we had a brunt steak platter that was wayyy over cooked and a lamb chop plate with literally two bones and no meat on them. We asked the bartender to take a look at the plate very nicely because it wasn’t worth paying even $5 for and she literally told my husband “I’m not arguing with you about it… I’ll just take it off” while rolling her neck and eyes and snatching the plate and his drink off the table. She then had the nerve to make us wait until she was finished her conversation across the room with other staff for us to pay so we can go. Whoever owns Smokin Mirrors please don’t let the staff drag your business. Anyone could walk through those doors or have some clout behind their name and y’all will miss an opportunity keeping staff that doesn’t contribute to the experience on payroll. This place could have been a vibe but $50 for 1 mixed drink, 1 water and 1 plate at the expense of being treated poorly is wild for the lack of better words.

Came here a few times. The vibes so far have been good, nice decor and friendly staff. There has always been music playing or a DJ when I've went. They have a small club attached that offer drinks as well. The shots are pricey, taxed AND small but they do offer a BYOB one day a week for $15, game day events and karaoke. Food was ok, I recommend trying the daily specials for better "bang for your buck" Overall worth a try

None of the frozen daiquiri machines were really working on the day I came. 🙄 I was so upset but cool because she just mixed random flavors that were working at the time. Then came time to pay and I noticed I was being charged and extra $2.69 fee for a $12.50 daiquiri plus tax, came out to be $17, I just walked out never to return. They make it so hard to support black owned business because of stuff like this. 🤦🏾‍♀️If I could give zero stars I would, definitely don't recommend to anyone. Try this daiquiri spot call Daiquiri Island and thank me later. 😘

Didn't try the drinks, just picked up 8 chicken wings to go. Opening the box when I arrived home I thought I had stepped in something from the neighbor's dog in the yard. Reluctantly I tried the wings. Not good at all. For $16 I was expecting awesomeness. Oh, well. At least I tried. They'll put food in your belly, but I'd have to have no other choice before going back.

Staff was not friendly when I came in and had frowns on their faces because I came in 20 minutes before they were closing. They did not want to serve me and told me the kitchen was closed. Wont be returning here! This restaurant closes at 10 not 9:40. I expect to be served 20 minutes before this place closes. So annoying and unacceptable. I Definitely tried to support this black owned business but I will not force y’all to take my money. 11-18-2022
