The Best New Orleans Sports Bars to Support (and Order Game-Day Food and Drinks) | Eater

"Bourbon Street might not be quite as raucous as usual this season, but you can still cheer your heart out at Drinkery. The popular live-music venue is also equipped with big-screen TVs, a balcony, and attentive bartenders specializing in craft cocktails, so you won’t be waiting around for a refill of your Crown Royal Old Fashioned." - Vox Creative

It was Wednesday night arouns 8pm and live concert was on going. They are so good and i loved the local beer. All guest were happy with yelling and dancing. The bartender was very kind and cool. There are outsided table too and i am not sure about second floor. The mostnkey point of enjoying, you should keep on eyes on the guard. He has that mood.

The blues band performing that night was absolutely stellar—tight rhythms, soulful vocals, and a stage presence that pulled you in. The bar itself exudes a refined, sultry vibe with its dim lighting and polished décor, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and timeless. There's a back patio where the restrooms are located, but the charm takes a bit of a hit there—walking through the thick cloud of cigarette smoke from the crowd outside was noticeably unpleasant. Still, the music and ambiance inside made it a memorable stop.

Bourbon Street Drinkery – A Lively Bourbon Street Stop with Great Live Music If you're looking for a vibrant and fun stop on Bourbon Street, The Drinkery is a fantastic choice. I visited during the daytime, and the energy was incredible, thanks to the lively live band that kept the atmosphere upbeat and engaging. The combination of great music and a relaxed vibe makes it an ideal spot to take a break from exploring the Quarter and enjoy some quality entertainment. The drink selection is solid, offering a variety of options to suit different tastes. Whether you're after a classic cocktail or something refreshing to cool down, you'll find something to enjoy. Overall, The Drinkery is a great place to stop by if you're looking for good drinks and a lively atmosphere during the day. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to soak in the true Bourbon Street experience with live music and great vibes.

Had such a blast drinking down memory lane with Wade and Valerie!! Wade owned Drinkery on Washington Ave here in Houston, so it was a non-negotiable to stop by to say "Hi" when we were in town. We got drinks from Mabel at the upstairs bar and beads from them, for the full Bourbon Street experience. The tossing of beads lead to an even larger crowd up on the balcony with us... Everyone wanted in on the fun and who could blame them?! Definitely was a night we'll continue to talk about Cheers until the next trip!

Google
Stopped in for a couple of drinks as I was drawn in by the live music. Had a great atmosphere, lots of cocktails to choose from and staff were great. There are a lot of bars to choose from in New Orleans, but visit here and yiu won't be disappointed.

Google
Doesn't serve food, but the music is amazing! Nashville may be the vocal heart of America, but here, I can feel the musical genius, technique and skill of what may be, some of the best musicians in the South.

Google
Y'all are getting your money's worth with Angelica & The Selection! I hope this establishment pays the band. We were gonna just grab a drink and keep it walking but this band convinced us to hang out and keep ordering. Drinks are good, less sugary than your typical Bourbon Street fair which I appreciate.

Google

Yelp
My favorite spot on the Bourbon strip--hands down! Bourbon Street Drinkery has everything you want in a French Quarter bar: strong drinks, great music, and the perfect people-watching balcony. The bartenders are super friendly and quick (which is rare on Bourbon), and the vibe is just right--not too wild, not too chill. It's the perfect place to post up with a drink and take in the energy of the street below. Whether you're bar-hopping or looking for a go-to hangout, this place never disappoints. Definitely a must-stop whenever I'm in NOLA!

Yelp
Bourbon Street Drinkery is everything that's wrong with the tourist-trap bar scene in New Orleans. I walked in looking to enjoy the music and grab a drink, but apparently expecting basic human decency was asking too much. After ordering, I asked for a simple glass of tap water--you know, the free, legally required kind most bars don't blink at. Instead, the staff insisted I buy a bottle of water. When I politely declined and asked again for regular tap water, I was met with condescension and an ultimatum: pay for the bottled water or leave. When I held my ground--because I wasn't about to be gouged for basic hydration--I was kicked out. Literally shown the door for refusing to pay for something that should be offered as a courtesy. I wasn't drunk, belligerent, or causing a scene--I just didn't want to be extorted for a bottle of water. The staff acted like customer service was beneath them, and management clearly supports price-gouging over hospitality. In a city known for generosity and warmth, Bourbon Street Drinkery is a cold, overpriced disappointment. Do yourself a favor--there are countless better bars on Bourbon Street. This one isn't worth your time, money, or thirst.

Yelp
Live music is good, drinks are okay not much flavor and costs about $20 bucks. Would come back for the live music but not the drinks. I had the saint on the rocks, not much of a pineapple punch I was looking for but does have plenty of liquor in it. My boyfriend had the strawberry lemonade and it likes actual lemonade flavor with artificial strawberry taste. Mind you these are our first drinks of the night.

Yelp
This was the perfect spot for live music. The band was amazing. The main singer had an incredible voice for a bar band. The drinks were quick & tasty ( a little pricey) and the bouncer at the door was friendly & knowledgeable about everything. Even hooked us up with free tix to another place in the area for afterwards. The vibe here was super fun. Best chill spot we found on our 3 day visit -- please check it out !
google avatar

Yelp
Good music, the drinks are a little watered down (popular place on Bourbon street), the great service and a fun place to be with lots of people.

Yelp
It was getting late and we (Big Bro, Hubbers and me) decided to stop at one more place for a nightcap. We got pulled here because of the live band playing a song we were all familiar with. This place is deceivingly big! One would expect its space ending at the bar, but nope... there's a whole foyer in the back if your ears need a bit of rest. Bathrooms are located back there, too (and it's one of the cleaner bar bathrooms I've been to compared to the many bars I hit while in NOLA.) Drinks are fairly priced and they are generous with the amount of alcohol in my cocktails! Bartender was nice, so with the bouncer. We liked it here so much we came back once more a couple of days later. Good times! Will be back!

Yelp
This was an amazing establishment. They had a live girl band who were super interactive with the clients. Restroom was clean! Establishment was clean! If you love strawberries, you need to try their strawberry and vodka drink amazing!! It is a little pricey, but definitely worth the experience. They also had an upstairs area we did not go. We stayed downstairs due to the live band. there was a waitress that would wait on your table if you sat down. Service was good.

Yelp
Typical Bourbon Street spot but better than most. This spot beckons both locals and tourists alike with good times and a great atmosphere. The band (forgot their name) was the highlight for sure they played all the hits and provided a great time of entertainment. Whether you're perched at the bar or lounging on the spacious outdoor patio, you'll find yourself swept up in the energy of the crowd. The décor exudes a rustic charm, with exposed brick walls adorned with vintage memorabilia, creating a cozy yet eclectic ambiance. They have a great tap beer selection with choices for all pallets. The mixed drinks were not so good to the point that me and my party decided to stick to beer. The staff was attentive and did keep the beers flowing. Overall if you are hanging out, Bourbon Street Drinkery is a great stop and will give you a good time while you are there. With its lively atmosphere, great beer selection, and warm hospitality, it's a nice place to hang out with friends.

Yelp
Vibes are amazing! This bar is very cool and the food looks great. We stopped by for a drink before dinner. My husband got a whiskey diet and liked it a lot. I got the espresso martini and it was ok. Would definitely add cream and not the coffee crumb topper as pictured. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
Open until 2am great drinks had the Bloody Mary it was delicious. NOLA knows how to make a great Bloody Mary.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place to drink local crafts when on Bourbon Street. Good beer, good drinks and good music. You are definitely going to pay Bourbon St prices but worth the price.
google avatar

Mistey W.

Yelp
This is a great place on Bourbon St. to stop for a drink. Now that my favorite New Orleans performer, Justin Donovan, has a daily set, its even better. Everytime I'm here, I let the waitress choose my cocktail(s) and I'm always happy. This time it was The Saint. The bar is dark and casual and the live music make it the perfect New Orleans moment!
google avatar

Pete J.

Yelp
I liked the space, it's convenient on Bourbon St. too. The draft list was okay. I came for a particular beer and was surprised by the draft process when I cashed out. I had the same beer an hour earlier in the French Quarter and paid $4 less than here. They adhere to a big pet peeve of mine, no pricing on their drink menus. They had a nice performer that sang as I finished my drink. The venue had three people when I entered and I was the only one when I left.

P V.

Yelp
TERRIBLE!! Go some where else. Staff Elena was so rude and is a complete liar. We just purchased a new drink, went for a dance. When we came back, Elena had thrown it away. She was clearly the only waitress in our area and the bar was not crowded. Elena had a bad attitude from the time we walked in. Who needs service like that when there are hundreds of bars in the area that would be happy to have your service. I'm giving this post a 1 star because the music was good.

Donna C.

Yelp
Ambiance, service, and drinks were excellent! And always a plus the restrooms were nice and clean.

Yelp
My friends and I stopped in here for a couple drinks a couple months ago while we were in NO and it was a pretty cool bar. When we walked in, there was a guy playing piano and singing. I'm not a fan of live music at a bar but he was really good and he tickled them ivory's really nice. They have a great selection of local brews. I tried a couple and they were really good. The service both upstairs and downstairs were fast. The upstairs has a balcony over Bourbon Street so it was fun to be up there for an hour or so and people watch. All in all, this was one of our favorite Bourbon Street bars and we went there a couple times. If I'm on Bourbon Street again, I'd happily go back.
google avatar

Yelp
I would NOT reccomend this bar at all. Music was good, however the staff ( Elena ) was extremely RUDE. Went for a dance, when I came back Elena had thrown away my brand new drink. Then lied and said she didn't when clearly she was the only waitress in our area. I'm giving it a 1 star because the music was pretty good. Also like the gentleman at the the front door. Very professional and friendly. Wish I had gotten his name

Yelp
Last night in NOLA, and I walked by this place twice; first time the music smacked me on the street in front. Live Rock and Blues band (3 piece fronted by Steve Mignano) and I stood there for 5 full minutes grooving on the side walk. Second time, I had to stop in cuz I got a quarter of a way down the road and literally got lassoed by the power of their pocket. Can't tell you anything else about this place, other than they have possibly the best live music on Bourbon!
google avatar

William S.

Yelp
No food just drinks. Live band was hella loud but great musicians nonetheless. The AC was amazing on a humid day. I asked the bar keep did they have a certain beer, she says no then I looked up at the digital screen and saw they had it, I was almost about to cry because I walked 35 minutes to try this beer . Great vibes great beers, cheers
google avatar

Brianna M.

Yelp
Came here for live music and drinks. This place did not disappoint. Took to a while to get a waiter. Great indoor outdoor setup and the staff was great once we got their attention. Live band was a great way to kickoff the birthday shenanigans
google avatar

Pete B.

Yelp
After being walked past several times, I asked if I could place an order. I was treated like an inconvenience, and never revisited. The live music was good, that's the only reason I'm giving more than 1 star.
google avatar

Yasmine F.

Yelp
They don't provide food. The service was good even though they were very busy. The ambiance was cool. It's a modern style pub. They had indoor and outdoor seating and they had live music while I was there.
google avatar

Spirited R.

Yelp
All I wanted on this trip to New Orleans was a glass of bourbon neat on Bourbon Street, and I finally made it happen. The first time I visited back in 2016, I was all about wine and beer--not whiskey. Fast forward eight years, and my appreciation for the bourbon craft has grown immensely. Sitting there with something special in hand, on such an iconic street, felt like the perfect full-circle moment. Cheers to that!
google avatar

Alyson H.

Yelp
Awesome live music and good bar service! Drink prices are fair. Good beer selection. Bathrooms are clean.
google avatar

Lettie C.

Yelp
Drinks are always amazing, specially when you get a good server ! live music starts at noon every day !

Kathryn C.

Yelp
Drinks are over priced for the pour. Good atmosphere but way too expensive . My Sazerac looks like a shot of rye. $70 For 4 drinks. Nope. Not for this place.
google avatar

Brenda J.

Yelp
I love the drinks here. The bartender made them just right they weren't sweet alcohol wasn't too much. It was amazing to just sit there and listen to live music.
google avatar

Ted G.

Yelp
Once a beautiful three-story home is now an\ successful event venue that serves an excellent old fashioned! If booze isn't your preference, they have well over 20 craft beers to choose from. If sitting outside is your preference, they have plenty of comfortable seating in the private courtyard out back. From what I can tell, they take pride in what they do and on a street that serves plenty of mediocre drinks, you won't find anything mediocre here. Cheers!
google avatar

Pamela J.

Yelp
Only place that seemed interesting to stop in for music that didn't have drunk or high people loitering around it. Great music! They could add some non alcoholic options besides O'Doul's. Heineken's 0 option is good. Or, add some Abita root beer or other Abita colas.
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
Drinks way over priced for pre-made drinks that did not even taste like they had alcohol. Watch our for the word infused as it means the fruit was soaked in alcohol but nothing more added. Band was lame as well and then came around with a bucket expecting people to tip them by putting them on the spot. Walked out after my first drink.
google avatar

Leilene J.

Yelp
Bourbon street drinkery I had beer I had a Peanut butter Milk Porter and I had Holy Roller Ipa New Orleans La. It was live music the musician name is Sawana Rice I tipped she was good. The bartender name is Jeff he is Filipino like apparently there is not much Filipino people in New Orleans. It's going to be Thanksgiving so there might not be much open.Security was cool.
google avatar

Laura W.

Yelp
Great local music 2pm to 2 am and friendly bar staff. Large on tap menu of beers, ales, and cocktails. I enjoyed the blood orange margaritas on tap and a local sour ale. Upscale for bourbon street!

Bev E.

Yelp
Cold beer, free music every day including afternoons. Comfortable setting with great staff.
google avatar

Akshita G.

Yelp
I only had their beer so cannot comment on the food. Loved the vibe, atmosphere, service and the variety!
google avatar

AJ I.

Yelp
Bar is nice. Live music is a plus. $15-20 drinks (straight pours) on bourbon on a Sunday night is a little crazy.
google avatar

Nehal A.

Yelp
One of the nicer nightclubs on Bourbon St. They waive the cover if you buy drinks. That keeps the club less crowded than others. Second floor has lots of nice furniture, and of course a big balcony, perfect to enjoy the passing by crowd on Bourbon st, and participate in the tradition of throwing beads. Music is load, drinks are decently priced and not watered down like other nearby places.
google avatar

Christy C.

Yelp
I was there 11/23/24 and the band was great! They seemed to be a cover band taking requests and killing it! All four members were great musicians and we really enjoyed the atmosphere. Great beer selection, too.
google avatar

Diana D.

Yelp
Love the vibe of this place.... red brick interior walls and dark wood bar tables.. group seating and live music... wait staff is very friendly and the drinks are potent...
google avatar

Kimeika M.

Yelp
Popped in to one of our favorites when in New Orleans. You can always expect great music , tasty drinks and phenomenal staff . This is a must stop in New Orleans for us . Seating is available at the front bar where there's a live band , upstairs where you can find another bar and seating with couches and recliners as well as balcony seating where you can throw beads , or just people watch . Check em for sure on your next visit!
google avatar

Maddy B.

Yelp
$17 a drink?! Are you out of your mind?! Our fault for not asking. Drinks aren't great, several are served from the gun, like a college bar. One and done. Will never go back.
google avatar

Debra R.

Yelp
Great service. Bloody Mary and old fashioned were on point. Live music sets a great mood. Fun joint.
google avatar

miranda j.

Yelp
Being in New Orleans you have a lot of different expectations, you fantasize about dancing in the streets and hearing live music by incredible hidden talents of Nola. The Drinkery is the perfect representation of kind, confident, and friendly staff that will treat you with respect and will see you as a new friend in their life journey. Thank you for making me feel welcome and safe.
google avatar

Amy N.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice with old school classic rock to new age indie rock. The drinks are wildly priced. $17 for a hurricane?! Service was quick and bar tenders were alert to new people coming to the bar.
google avatar

Robyn F.

Yelp
3.5 The drinks & food were good. I got a blood orange margarita that was pre made & dispensed but tasty. The crab dip was yummy. The bartenders were nice & attentive. They didn't mind charging my phone. The band was good both nights I visited. I decided not to go back after the security person at the door was rude to me.

Michaela C.

Yelp
so overpriced!!! go to the dive bars off Bourbon. Glasses filled with ice and no alcohol. $80 for 4 drinks
google avatar

Alexis P.

Yelp
Great live music with an approachable bar staff! Drinks are a tad pricy at $17 per cocktail but was strong!

Jon S.

Yelp
Awesome vibe, great drinks, good times. If your looking for a bourbon street bar with a a little bit of class this is your got
google avatar

Morgan S.

Yelp
We have been here for 5 days, and this is our first and main spot we got too. The bartenders are INCREDIBLE. The service is unlike any other bar on Bourbon. If you love the blues, this is your spot to go. Each band is better than the last. Our favorite so far has been the Sam Forsyth band! Sad we live on the West Coast and can't come more often! Don't miss this spot! It will make your whole trip (:
google avatar

Kelly H.

Yelp
This was actually our favorite bar on the trip. Great live music, and great ambiance! We stopped here on our first night, checking out Bourbon Street. When continuing on down Bourbon, we quickly realized that street wasn't what we came for. But we returned to Bourbon Street Drinkery on our last night before departing. A gem in the rough, and surprisingly not too crowded. Blackened Voodoo on draught!
