This is always a go to place for my husband and I that is only a couple of miles from our neighborhood and it always offers good food. The Mississippi catfish is simply delicious as is the bread and pesto oil appetizer that's brought out to each table. My husband had the jambalaya, as he usually does, and was very satisfied with it. The service was great. Our waitress was friendly and outgoing and the ambiance was spot on, too. We ordered ice tea and it was pretty good with prompt refills as needed. We never need a reservation and always get seated promptly.

Google
This place has amazing seafood. I went out with my mother and my SIL as a treat and a thank you for her hosting us. We all like seafood and I was happy to have found this place from a Google search. We got the alligator to start and it was cooked perfectly with a crispy light breading. I don't know what is in the sauce but it's the right combination of sweet and heat. The herb crusted salmon was cooked perfectly and paired with sautéed spinach. The New Orleans Mahi Mahi took what could be a plain fish to a different level of flavor. And I cannot put into words how good the ponchartrain redfish is. The sauce paired perfectly well and the portion sizes of all dishes was excellent. Alex offered us friendly and efficient service. He knew the menu well and was helpful in figuring out what to order. The food came out much faster than I would have thought given all of the components of the dishes ordered. I would go back to this restaurant again and again. And will certainly return should I be in the area again.

Had the ponchatrain red fish and a Boudin Sausage. Both had good flavor and came out hot. The ambiance is pleasant and staff kept drinks full.

It was such a great meal with my family. Excellent all around. The food was perfect. I highly recommend stopping in anytime you want an amazing meal.

Choose to come here due to having a very large group and we didn’t want to wait during lunch hour. We were able to be seated with no wait time. In fact, it was like we had the whole restaurant pretty much to ourselves, minus two couples. To be exactly went Tuesday afternoon around 1:30pm. Food was in comparison to Pappadeaux‘s, still really tasty. We even had a few people who didn’t like seafood and still were able to find something on the menu. Our server was awesome. And handled it like a champ, and it was plenty of us. I would definitely go here during a date night. Our drinks could have been a bit stronger considering we ordered ranch water.

Google
This place has an awesome cook. The. Ambience captures a great place for date night. Our waiter was Fazar, his knowledge of the menu was well noticed. He went all out and recommended a wine to pair up with the food we ordered. Great recommendations turned out very well. . I will definitely return for another meal and wonderful food and drinks When you come be sure to ask for Fazar you won’t be disappointed. Bam!!

Google
I had the sea bass picatta served with seasoned, julienned vegetables. For dessert, I tried my first baked Alaska (not fishy at all...lol!). The ambience, service, food quality and flavors easily rank among the best I've ever enjoyed! The managing partner told us of his heritage, raised in a family of restauranters. The uncle owns 15 restaurants in the area; the manager here has worked with him from his youth. It shows! Dine here. You will not be disappointed.

Google
Came here on a Sunday after church with a group of 12. The restaurant was very busy, but they did a great job working with our group, our server was outstanding, and the food excellent. The only negative is the same you see in so many restaurants in this post-COVID/high labor cost/inflation-driven economy: the amount of food you get for what you pay is not nearly what it was and to get a full meal meat/veggie/starch you end up paying extra for the third item. Just a bummer, but with the cost of goods and labor through the roof it is a miracle any restaurant can stay in business. The team here did a great job, and we appreciate all they do.

Yelp
Tried for the first time. This place is high dollar so expect to spend money. Service was good. Got the Bourbon Tenderloin, ordered it medium, came out well. No pink at all and flavorless. Got the sauce on the side because well, a good steak doesn't need sauce. The sauce was ok but did not blow me away. Wife ordered grilled tilapia well done, came out no where near well done but she ate it. Rice was good and butter sauce was creamy and good. Daughter got the scampi, she's picky but she ate it so it was good as far as I can tell. Father in law got blackened Mississippi catfish and shrimp. This was the only plate that really tasted as good as it looked. Over all, too pricey for mediocre food. We love the intimate quiet ambiance of the place. Ordered an old fashioned with Makers Mark. It lacked the old fashioned flavor with cherry and bitters you'd expect so the drinks were also over priced and mediocre. Probably won't be back, ever. Just was not impressed and for these prices, I expect to be impressed.

Yelp
This restaurant did not measure up to my expectations. I ordered the seafood gumbo. It was a bowl full of celery and green peppers. It was taken off my bill. The Mississippi Catfish was good. My mom ordered the ettoufee and it was a large plate of dirty rice. I guess the cost of shrimp and crawfish is impacting the portions. Our server was Nathan and he was just okay. I am from Houston, Texas and we take our creole/cajun cuisine seriously. This establishment should not use the name Bourbon Street. That name is misleading and disrespectful to the great city of New Orleans. The best chefs in the world are from the NOLA. Would not recommend this establishment!

Yelp
Fabulous shrimp dishes. 6 of us had lunch and all had one of their many shrimp dishes which we all enjoyed. Also shared a couple of orders of delicious crème brûlée.

Yelp
My first time at this place and it will definitely be my last. Arrived about 6:30 and they were not very busy. That should have been my first clue. After being ignored by the front desk, i eventually got seated. After sitting around for 15-20 minutes waiting for a server to greet me, i finally just left. Two other tables wete seated, served drinks and appetizers, all while i was being ignored. If their food is only one-tenth as bad as their service, it would be totally ineditable.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance. They had a saxophone player which was so relaxing. Food was delicious. Portions were huge. I had the shrimp bisque and the Trout Lorraine. They were both amazing. Service was good and they accommodated me with I asked for a table in the back where it was less noise. Will definitely go back.

Yelp
Service was very good. The waiter was attentive and very polite. I ordered the salmon on a cedar plank with mashed potatoes instead of dirty rice because the dirty rice has chicken intestines and pork in it (according to the waiter) - a turn off for me personally. The mashed potatoes were pretty good however the salmon was very unseasoned, even after putting pepper on it myself, I still had to ask for sauce and the sauces they gave me were the lemon butter and orange looking sauce were very underwhelming. The asparagus on the salmon was overcooked and also unseasoned. I couldn't even taste salt, which I don't even usually look for. The ambience was very nice for a date.

Yelp
Location: The restaurant is located off the 1604 in a small shopping center. Service: The service is amazing! The staff are very friendly, attentive and refill waters often. Food: They have an amazing seafood selection from fried, blackened, grilled, fish stuffed with crab, pastas, etc. We had an appetizer with crabmeat and cheese on top of the oyster. It was delicious! My husband and I agreed that we want to try a new seafood dish every Friday during lent. Cost: It is pricey! Expect to pay around $15 for an appetizer and $21-28 for your main entree. The portions are big so I didn't mind the cost. There is a kid's menu that cost around $7.99. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner. We love the fine dining atmosphere and the attentive waiters. The food was amazing as well. We will definitely be back again!

Yelp
Review is for the North Stone Oak location. Came here with a party of 3 for a business lunch on a Thursday at noon-thirty. It was pretty quiet, maybe 15 tables seated. There's a sign near the door/bathrooms that the dress code is enforced and we were scratching our heads on that one - what IS the dress code? Have on a shirt and shoes? We were seated immediately, drinks were on the table by the time I got back from the bathroom, and orders were up within 10 minutes. We were in and out within 45 minutes. Great job with lunch service. We ordered off the lunch menu - one person had salmon and two of us had the cajun combo (blackened catfish with shrimp étouffée). Very reasonable prices. The cajun combo was a weird plate - two proteins with two different rices (dirty with the catfish, white with the étouffée) and no vegetables. I would have liked a better balanced option. Catfish looked ate a lot more like a tilapia filet than a catfish filet; none of that muddy flavor and toothy texture I look for in catfish. The whole plate had about 2 grams of salt. I ate the protein and left most of the rice on the plate because it was so salty and there was so much of it. There were probably close to 2,000 calories on the plate, mostly in rice. The salmon dish my colleague ate did not come with rice, it was served over some julienned squash and looked a lot better balanced. If I come here again I will not order something with rice, I'll make sure it's a protein/vegetable plate and ask for no added salt. My "issues" with this place are my personal preference, not anything wrong with the business. It's good and I'll come back but will order differently.

Yelp
Our @alphachiomegahq Alumni Chapter had our early holiday dinner tonight @bourbonstreetseafood on 1604 and Redland. They were running short staffed with Faraz as the bartender and our server. Dad had Lemonade. Since Dad likes clam chowder, I thought to have him try the Louisiana version, and he liked it. I had a few bites, and it was smoky with bacon. I had a side salad with Ranch. Dad and I shared the Mahi Mahi New Orleans, which had some crab meat and crawfish with white wine lemon sauce. Pictured is the half portion since Faraz had them nicely split the servings. It was a nice gathering, and some brought items to donate to The Battered Women's Shelter.

Yelp
We love this place! Very nice ambiance! The food is always fresh and delicious! The portions are generous. We order the Red fish special and sub the rice with mashed potatoes. It's delicious! Their shrimp brochette is one of the best we've ever had! The bread and pesto oil is amazing! We know the staff by name and they are always very friendly! Highly recommended!

Yelp
Bread and seasoned oil was delicious! Glass of Chardonnay refreshing. Oysters trio delicious Frog legs were the best I've ever had. Seafood platter had fried oysters. Some of them were just batter. Fish fillets were nice size and delicious. Shrimp was nice size and definitely too. Stuffed shrimp big and delicious. French fries okay. Service was good. Nice restaurant.

Yelp
This restaurant was a pleasant surprise. We ended up doing our office lunch there. I have never been there before, but the atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly. I had the Mississippi catfish, and it was delicious and cooked to perfection. The restaurant was not overly crowded or loud for it being lunch time on a Friday. It is a little out of the way for me, but I can see myself visiting again if I want tasty seafood.

Yelp
So having been to Louisiana multiple times and having frequently visited many of the authentic restaurants on Bourbon street... This restaurant only nailed one thing and that is the Decor. Food looks authentic until you put it in your mouth. I had the blackened snapper which was so dry and bland. My wife ordered the oysters which looked disgusting were sent back. My wife's fried shrimp looked good but again no flavor in the batter or the meat. The service was bad, our server didn't even want to speak much less answer questions. We told them it wasn't good, and we didn't want to take anything home. I would seriously only recommend this restaurant if you want to feel like you're eating real Cajun food without the taste. This place wouldn't be allowed to exist in Louisiana
google avatar

Mike B.

Yelp
Ordered the shrimp brochette and seafood cobb salad. The shrimp was tasty however have had fresher ingredients with other salads. The bread was good and hot. The service was great for accommodating a good size group for lunch. They were able to sit us towards the back which worked well for us. Nice enjoyable seating area.

Yelp
The first time I came here, the ambiance was underwhelming. I'm not sure if they were trying to take you back in time to the way New Orleans restaurants were, but I would not come here for an elegant evening or anything outside of quick lunch or dinner with coworkers. Dark wood and brown/cream wallpaper everywhere. The food was pretty decent. The sauce was flavorful but the shrimp was obviously not seasoned (not surprised). The service was average nothing out of the ordinary. This is a decent spot if interested food outside of fast food. The prices overall were price appropriately. Lunch for two can run you under $40.

Yelp
We visited this location on our 28 anniversary, it was so disappointing! When we arrived at the parking lot we thought for a moment that the location was closed, all windows were really dirty and the front entrance was full of dead leaves and dirt, but it was open, once inside there was a foul smell lingering, but we decided to stay anyway. Service was excellent, no complaints whatsoever, we ordered our food; Oyster trio, was good, Salmon Alexander; way over cooked so it was very dry and chewy, wife ordered shrimp bourbon street, shrimp were very good and tasty but sauce was curled up, both dishes came with "garlic mashed potatoes " really disgusting, super watery and bitter, it ruined the dishes! Men's restroom was filthy, the smell of urine was unbearable, and it was the smell that was lingering in the restaurant. We were regulars at the river walk location, food there was way better with bigger portions too, but seems that it is now closed for good so we thought this would be the same... It is not, I do not recommend this place!

Yelp
If you are looking for a nice atmosphere, easy listening jazz music in the background, and great food along with awesome customer, then this is the place!

Yelp
We had a nice spur of the moment dinner here tonight. The service and staff were good and everything was taken care of in a timely manner. I ordered crab cakes, which I won't be ordering again. They weren't bad, I just prefer a crispier, thicker crab cake. I also ordered escargot, which was delicious with the oil they serve. The calamari and jambalaya were wonderful, and my in-laws had their "go to" which was the fried platter, which looked great with the shoestring fries. I also loved the bread and oil that was served. The bar area looked very appealing, so next time we go out without our son, we'll definitely sit at the bar. Thank you!

Maricella S.

Yelp
Went in this Valentine's Day and had the most amazing server Tim wait on us. The food was so delicious!!! This was our first visit here and it was perfect spot for evening dinner. Looking forward to our next visit. Bartender was also so sweet. Great place!

Yelp
I was looking forward to eating here but I stood at the desk for a long time and I was not even acknowledged. I had a great long conversation with a lady who had also been waiting. I left and had great meal a Fish City Grill.

Yelp
Went on a Friday night with a Party of 10 and they were able to seat us really quick. Waiter was good and funny. Food was above average.

Yelp
Bourbon Street Seafood Kitchen is the #1 restaurant for anyone from Louisiana who wants to eat a meal that taste like our food! Bet me!

Tina L.

Yelp
Went for a late lunch today. No one was in restaurant... should have been our first clue. Ordered mussels and they were very fishy... we ordered a shrimp dish and the trout dish. They both were terrible. My veggies were mushy under the greasy trout. My husbands dish was four shrimp swimming in a greasy sauce with minute rice. Wouldn't recommend. For the price point we were thought they would at least try.
google avatar

Yelp
We were craving Cajun food and pasta so we thought we'd give this place a try. We were greeted by a very nice host and tended to quickly. Our waiter Christian was very attentive and provided great service. My son ordered the Pasta Mardi Gras and he said it had great flavor. It was packed with shrimp and sausage and pretty generous servicing. I ordered the chicken piccata and it did not disappoint. The chicken was so tender and the dish was very flavorful. We had a great experience overall.
google avatar

Roy S.

Yelp
We didn't get a chance to experience a sit down meal. However, the food was delivered to our hotel hot and absolutely delicious. I had the Red fish with shrimp and crabmeat. Will definitely be eating here again.
google avatar

Louie D.

Yelp
Stopped in here for a catfish lunch and was pleased for sure. We started with the chicken and sausage gumbo. It was decently flavorful with a lot of heartiness and not just rice. I got the blackened catfish with redbeans and rice. Catfish was really good but the redbeans could've used a little flavor. My wife got the jambalaya and it was good and filling. They bring enough for 3 meals. Service was outstanding.
google avatar

Sabine P.

Yelp
It was fairly empty when I went, the food looked ok it felt like the only thing fresh was the salad. But the overall meals felt like they had been de thawed to make. Portion sizing is nice though.
google avatar

Jess F.

Yelp
Had the chicken and sausage gumbo, fried calamari, shrimp cocktail and herb crusted salmon ... everything tasted fresh and it all smelled delicious. It was busy during peak lunch hour but the staff was always attentive.

Viona L.

Yelp
Food bland asked about spice wasn't offered any said would take whole plate home to spice up. Menu said shrimp and oyster on top of tilapia I got 1 oyster and 2 shrimp
google avatar

Yelp
Ok so.... Been seeing this place in my Yelp recommendations and had to try it. Wanted something somewhat easy.. was craving grilled shrimp. We walked in, very strong fishy smell... sat down, had some bread and glanced over the menu. Nothing was what we were looking forward to. Over priced. The grilled shrimp option they had was like 4 pieces for almost $20. So we decided maybe try the crab cakes and decide if we were going to stay. No. The crab cake was wet. I've always had crab cakes that came out crispy and NOT fishy. This was the opposite. I'm glad I came finally to decide I wouldn't go back

J A.

Yelp
I ordered the Mahi Mahi. It was overcooked and very dry. I could not even eat it. The rice and bread was ok but definitely not worth the money. I will not be going back again. My bill was over 100 dollars for 3 people. I don't mind paying that price for good food but this was not good food.
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
I was looking for a place to have lunch and came across this restaurant. We were seated and after sitting down, the waiter brought over warm bread and dipping oil. Not too many restaurants serve bread with a meal and this bread tasted like it was right out of the oven. It was delicious. I had the Pecan Chicken and my friend as blackened catfish. The gravy on the Pecan Chicken was especially delicious. My friend really enjoyed the blackened catfish. The waiter was very attentive and kept refilling the water and checking to see if everything was alright. I would definitely go back there.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice for a special night. Food was good, served timely and in general the experience was good. The pricing was off for our likes in comparison to the overall food/portions and a la carte style offerings. It felt like fine dining and I appreciated everyone's hard work. Maybe I just needed a different ambiance. Don't let that defer you from giving them a go!
google avatar

Ed V.

Yelp
Visited Bourbon street Saturday early evening. The food was delicious and service great. I do however have couple of bones to pick. Prices are rising an an unsustainable rate. 3 Stuffed shrimp and dirty rice for $19. A chef's special with a surprise price, the waiter omitted the special price which was $10 more than the menu item of the same entree at $49.95. To round out the meal, the suggested tip is based on the after tax tally. Sorry, but I don't tip Uncle Sam.
google avatar

Victor K.

Yelp
Had a late lunch, we missed the lunch menu pricing by about 10 minutes, so we had to do dinner. Nice ambience, and friendly staff. My wife ordered the shrimp parmesan pasta. She said it was delicious. I had a bowl of combination gumbo. One of the best I have had so far. Good portions of seafood, sausage, and chicken. Very tasty. Bread came right out of the oven delicious! A little bit pricey than I was planning for lunch but the food and ambience made up it. We will be back.

Edward F.

Yelp
Service was poor even at the bar. The servers were only attentive to their regular customers. Food was mediocre.
google avatar

Sammy R.

Yelp
I had the fried seafood combo. The seafood was amazing, but I detest the string thin French fries. Our waiter provided the best service I have received anywhere in the last 10 years. He was very attentive, but not intrusive. The ambience, music, and the decor reminded me of New Orleans. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
There was no one at the hostess stand when we arrived, so we had to wait a few minutes before the manager showed up to seat us. We seriously thought about grabbing our own table for a couple of minutes because nobody acknowledged that we were standing there. I was afraid this was going to set the tone for service, etc. but luckily, it didn't. Once we were seated, the service was VERY professional and efficient. The food: The jambalaya ($18.99) had PLENTY of chicken and sausage - the chicken was chicken breast and was very moist - not dried out, which is easy to do with chicken breast. However, the jambalaya demi-glaze sauce and rice, seriously was no better than one of those instant mixes out of a box or a bag like Zatarans, etc. the sausage tasted very similar to the local SA brand Kiolbassa. I just wasn't impressed with this dish, based on the $18.99 price tag it flaunted. Who charges $18.99 for jambalaya??? The Pontchartrain Redfish entree ($31.99) is pan seared, served with mushrooms, crab meat, and shrimp in a brown butter sauce, served with dirty rice on the side. Glasses of wine range from $8 to $15. Beer (Abita Amber) is $4.75 for a 12 oz bottle. Substitutions are frowned upon here. The redfish entree includes two shrimp, but we asked if we could substitute scallops for the shrimp. The cost was going to be an additional 4.99 for the first scallop, and 5.99 for each additional one after that - but we were assured they were large scallops. We took a hard pass on the substitution and ordered it with the default of two shrimp. This dish was better than the jambalaya entree. The fish was cooked perfectly - not too dry and a good flavor. Although the service was great, and the food wasn't too bad, it will be a while before I return. It's just too pricey for the quality and ambiance. There's a handful of other places that I would rather drop this amount of cash on.

Blen J.

Yelp
Food wasn't flavorful nor hot. The rice was overcooked and not fresh.....toppings on the fish was cold the fish was hot but the toppings were not. My first time here but would not recommend this location. Very disappointed

Michele F.

Yelp
My husband and I have been eating here for years and Bourbon Street has been one of our favorite restaurants. But, unfortunately, it's just not what it used to be. Had lunch there today and was so disappointed in the food. We've always loved the frog legs but today they were so incredibly greasy that the crust slid right off of the meat and the meat slid right out of my fingers. We each had one leg and I almost didn't finish the one. I ordered the seafood gumbo and could not eat it because it was so salty. No complaints on the service...it has always been great for us. But the food the last couple times we've been there has been disappointing.

James S.

Yelp
Our party of 4 arrived 30 minutes before closing on Sunday nite 4/26. Food was excellent as always, however the service was lacking. One party ordered a salad with ranch on the side. The order came dressed in vinaigrette. Rather than send it back we asked the server to bring a side of ranch. He rather snootily insisted it had ranch on, which obviously not true. When we finished the main course we asked for couple o slices of pie. (There were still other dinners present). He again rather snootily stated "the kitchen is closed." We asked if he could bring a slice since no cooking was required he stated (there's no one back there" which was untrue since later observed staff leaving the kitchen. Very disappointing since in previous visits the staff were very friendly and accommodating

Rosie G.

Yelp
One of those moments where the service is so bad you still talk about it as "that one time at that really bad restaurant". My family Wasn't addressed until a long while after entering. Finally Sat down for the slow and insanely rude service. Waited a ridiculous amount of time for the check. Food wasn't terrible if it was bought at a fast food place. Those prices with this quality of food.... It's a no from me

Natalie M.

Yelp
Amazing place for lunch and dinner Great customer service and the food out of this world Delicious and tasty

Yelp
I finally got to try out this place for the first time. If I could give it 3.5 stars, I would, but 3 is too low. Drinks- Hurricane was just right and so was the French Quarter Margarita Food: Ordered the seafood fondue appetizer to start off. The flavor was perfect. For something that should contain seafood in it, it did not have enough to be worth $16. I also ordered the Sea Bass entree. That was also very well made, but not worth the $40 in my opinion. Ended the night with a slice of cheesecake. It was good, but not great. The crust was too soft. Service: our waiter was great! Checked on us quite often and ensured we were taken care of. Will I be back? Maybe

Yelp
We met friends for dinner recently, and were very pleased with our experience. Those who follow me know that I am gluten intolerant, and have some other food sensitivities. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful; he guided me into a great decision for my dinner -- Grilled Chicken. Our friends are regulars at this restaurant, and they were obviously happy with their meals! We would definitely return to this location, and we think you'll like it, too!

Yelp
So delicious, fresh, and the portions were huge. Service was great.. best fried alligator! I had the Mississippi Catfish and I'll probably be daydreaming of it until I eat it again!

Yelp
This local gem has been around a while. I'm not sure how long it's been here but we came here for an early Mother's Day celebration. We like coming here on special occasions. They sat us in the vey back. I imagine because we had the kids with us. We used their QR code to check the menu on the table. I ordered the Chilean sea bass. My husband ordered the Diablo plate and for my kids I ordered them each a kids burger plate. I loved that when we got our plates they were all hot. I hate getting anything cold. Server seemed busy but always very attentive. Food was taken out by the manager so it assured an extra level of attentiveness. I liked that. Kids plates came out first: both large in size and tasty, so even a teen would feel satisfied with the size of the meal. When I finally got my Chilean Sea Bass, the fish was so meaty, juicy and delicious, just reached another level of perfection. Couldn't stop complimenting the flavors from it, lol. The capers blended the flavors of the fish (and I don't usually like capers) together with the Julienned vegetables, paired with a the sauce made for what looked like spaghetti underneath the fish, made for an exquisite meal! I enjoyed it so much with my Cabernet. Couldn't stop gloating over my food, lol! Just Wow, amazing perfection! I tasted the Diablo plate and was very spicy. Not for the faint of heart, but still amazingly delicious. We left extremely happy. There was a line of people waiting at the door to be seated still... This place is so popular! I recommend it to anyone who loves seafood! Best Mother's Day dinner, thank you!!!
