"Housed in the old Leslie’s Drugstore and Downtown Grill building, this entry in the City Grocery Restaurant Group delivers a bustling setting, great service, and solid Creole-informed eats. Love Bouré’s chef salad wrap, jalapeno brisket sandwich, and a pristine grilled salmon dish, made special occasion worthy thanks to a honey caper dijon cream sauce. Head upstairs to the bar for great balcony views." - Beth D'Addono

The gumbo was tasty. Crackers were okay and would have been better with a four inch piece of po boy bread. The fried popcorn appetizer was good. *it needed a piece of white bread under shrimp to absorb grease. I would have also served or asked if tartar sauce was preferred. The cocktail sauce was too spicy to consume. The coconut cake was excellent. Our server, Jenna, did an excellent job and checked on us as needed during our visit.

The staff was very nice and friendly. We were greeted at the door and walked to our seats. Our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable about the dishes; very patient. Always made sure we were doing ok and our glasses were filled. I came in wanting shrimp and grits. The dish is different from other shrimp and grits that I've had in the past. It was very fulfilling and very tasty. Definitely a must have.

Update: Returned for shrimp and grits and friend had okra salad - they knocked it out of the park. Great place for group gathering - we were able to talk and hear each other 😀. Excellent, knowledgeable server helped with food selections and gluten free choices. My brisket plate was delicious, and the sweet potato fries were more crispy than flabby, like I like 'em. Highly recommend. 5 💫 (pic is of my leftovers 😋)

Google
Oh my! The shrimp & grits - not sure what they put in the sauce and they won’t tell, but it’s decadent. The catfish was fried perfectly and had plenty of crawfish on top but I would ask to substitute the sauce for the shrimp and grits sauce next time. I enjoyed the grilled okra, the husband didn’t agree (but he’s partial to fried okra, so consider the source). Our server, Robert, was wonderful and just topped off the experience.

Google
An upscale but casual dining experience in the heart of Oxford Square. A tasty twist on some southern classics. The pimento cheese hoecake topped with a jazzy pepper sauce cabbage and greens salad is a must try to tingle the taste buds. If you are looking for something a bit more mainstream.... the grilled ceasar salad topped with your choice of protein is crisp & fresh with the perfect amount of zest in every bite! 😋

Google
Highly recommended! We always start with the New Orleans Shrimp for an appetizer, but they go so fast I forget to get the photo. The spinach and artichoke dip is more creamy fresh than the gooey cheesy dips at other places. Fish is fresh. The catfish is delicious. The crawfish potpie is a different experience worth trying at least once. Great staff with a knowledgeable group of bartenders. They are kid friendly but still maintain an adult atmosphere.

This is a lovely restaurant on the square. The modern farmhouse style inside is attractive and welcoming. There is a full bar, outdoor seating and plentiful seating inside. The menu has a nice selection of southern type dishes as well as other American cuisine. My husband had the chicken-fried steak, which was very good. The crispy layer on the outside was absolutely amazing! The steak was NOT cubed steak, looked like a 1 inch thick flank steak. That was a little odd and not what my husband had expected, although, it was quite tasty and still very good. I enjoyed the ‘Philly’ sandwich. It was good. The onion rings delivered to another table made us wish we had ordered them! The server was efficient, kind and did a great job. We enjoyed the atmosphere and would likely visit there again. For Pokémon Go Trainers … you could play from there ALL DAY LONG! - screenshots included are from sitting at the table in the establishment.

I had a customer dinner here with a party of 7. The service was great and we all felt taken care of. The waitress had good menu recommendations and the food was amazing. My favorite dish was the Shrimp & Grits.

Yelp
Food was good sever was nice just too much ice in the water. Took my friends here they loved it.

Yelp
We were in Oxford, and our nephew who attends Ol Miss U. He brought us to Boure for a dinner visit. We didn't know what their fare was, and we were pleasantly surprised that they specialized in New Orleans styled dishes. We started out with Gumbo, which was loaded with seafood, chicken, and Andouille sausage and a tasty broth. For my main course, I tried the Pasta Jambalaya. I've always had rice with my Jambalaya, but the pasta was a very nice twist. The Jambalaya had plenty of chicken, crayfish, shrimp and andouille sausage...delicious. We'll be returning to Oxford soon, and we will definitely be stopping by at Borne again. They also have an upper floor with outdoor seating we would like to experience.

Yelp
Maybe it was an off night but my son and I stopped here in mid June after a very long drive from Dallas. There was hardly anyone there - We weren't greeted promptly, the waiter was teetering on rude and the food was mediocre at best. My shrimp po-boy had about 6 tiny shrimp and no flavor. I would have asked for some sauce but after waiting 30 minutes for our food - the waiter disappeared. Not sure what all these great reviews were talking about - we were highly disappointed!

Yelp
Came in last night for a dinner to celebrate our drone competition. The estimated an hour and 30 minute wait, however it only took 30 minutes. The restaurant is located on the adorable town square. It is loud and busy in the restaurant. The service is a tad slow. We ordered drink than waited 20-30 minutes for food. The food was fantastic. Nothing to complain about. I had the crawfish and shrimp pot pie. It was seasoned well, hot and had a buttery, flakey crust. The stars are taken off for the dirty restroom. There was an infestation of fruit flies in the toilet and drain, no paper towels and toilet paper all over the floor.

Frances T.

Yelp
This was suggested to us recently ahead of our trip to Oxford. It was suggested as a "nicer" spot, but at 2PM on a Saturday it was way more in the casual realm. Great service and the food was tasty. Truly some of the best fries I've had in a while.

Katelynn M.

Yelp
Drove down from Olive Branch to Oxford for the Double Decker Festival weekend and needed a meal! Located on The Square of Oxford, this restaurant makes you feel like you're in New Orleans, and despite other restaurants being unable to take walking Boure was accepting walk-ins! The food was so good! There was a 1 1/2 wait and the restaurant doesn't accept reservations but they will add you to the waitlist. I highly recommend the shrimp & grits!

Ciara B.

Yelp
Boure has my favorite steak in oxford, especially with the Brussel sprouts! I bring my mom here every time she visits! Highly recommend coming!

Makenzie D.

Yelp
Service was great, food was just ok. I got the chicken fried steak with spinach and mashed potatoes. I really wish they had the turkey sandwich!

EJ T.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. The pasta was delicious and it wasn't too big. Just the right amount of food and spice. My husband said the shrimp and grits was the best he's ever had. It gets busy so be prepared for a wait.

Lacy O.

Yelp
Fun casual place! Great food and service! Everyone in our party really liked their food!

Sans R.

Yelp
We like Boure, but the upstairs bar needs to up their game. I asked for a pineapple High Noon with the first bartender and was told they were out, so I took what they had. Different bartender the next time and I requested pineapple high noon again and he went to the back and brought out a four pack and gave me one. We were outside on the patio and requested a menu but the waiter never came back to take the order, and never asked if we wanted to order a drink. So no problem we just went inside and got them.We will go back, just my observations while there this time.

Mike A.

Yelp
2nd time I've been to this restaurant, and it was just as good this time as the first time. Oxford is a great little college town and the square is a great little square. Nice environment inside, lots of polished hard wood. TVs were on and visible throughout the restaurant with Wimbledon tennis on, however I'm not in to tennis so I wasn't watching them at all. Exceptional service from our waiter, he answered our questions and was knowledgeable of the menu and the items on the menu. Our drinks never got empty. We started with a Grilled New Orleans BBQ shrimp appetizer, and it was as messy as it was delicious!! 5 prawns swimming in garlic butter and spices with crusty bread to sop up the batter after. 1 of us had the Pan Seared Lump Crab Cakes with sweet potato fries, and 1 of us had the Jalapeño BBQ Brisket Sandwich and onion rings. Portions were good sized, food was very very good!! Oxford is a bit of an embarrassment of riches, in my humble opinion, when it comes to restaurants so you pretty much can't go wrong anywhere you go but I will say if you get the chance to try Bouré DO IT!!

Diane R.

Yelp
All of the positive recommendations about the Boure were true at my first visit. Was able to get a table for two during lunch on a Tuesday. Waiter greeted us immediately with water. The setting was comfortable and relaxed for lunch. Southwest salad was excellent and my son loved the bunless burger bowl. Highly recommend - definitely one of the best!

Bonnie R.

Yelp
Boure is known for its specialty cocktails, location on the Oxford square and fabulous patio, but the restaurant is a bit trendier than the menu warrants. On a Wednesday afternoon during spring break--when I expected the city to be relatively deserted--there was a 20 minute wait for a table (no clue how long a patio table would have been). Instead, I opted to eat at the bar, which offers a full menu (downstairs only). Service was good at the bar, but you're right beside the (open) kitchen, so it's quite busy and loud in the area. I ordered a pomegranate martini, spinach and artichoke dip, and a chicken sandwich. All three were mediocre, at best. While not a terrible meal, with so many options at a similar price point in Oxford, I'll pass next time.

Gary B.

Yelp
I haven't visited Oxford since the start of the pandemic. And had it in my mind to visit Boure, when my colleagues asked " where are we going to dinner"? We brought along a friend who had never previously visited Oxford let alone Boure. And he was impressed, which I was counting on. The food was reliably awesome...I can honestly say I missed the southern style home cooking that Boure offers. The only negative I can say is that they didn't have all the ingredients for one of their signature drinks, but with supply issues hitting everyone; I wasn't surprised nor upset( that goes for everyone in my 4 person group). Can't wait to comeback to Oxford ! For those who live in the area, wow do I envy you'all

Nequel B.

Yelp
Always a favorite. My sisters and I received great service, the food and the drinks were delicious. We got there right when they opened so no wait. The upstairs was closed for a private Party but that didn't stop our fun. This is a great place for a date, catching up with friends or just grabbing a bite on the square. Always recommend this to anyone who lives or is visiting Oxford.

Yelp
Stopped here for dinner before the University of Kentucky Men's basketball game against Ole Miss. Hostess and waiter were super friendly. I had the Pasta Jambalaya with grilled shrimp and crawfish and peppers and sausage. It was delicious! My wife had the Chicken Carbonara. She enjoyed about half and took the rest for a later meal at home. Good value.

Carson A.

Yelp
I've been here 3 times and I'm from New Orleans and let me say this food is a disgrace to the tradition and culture of New Orleans cuisine. Personally the pasta jambalaya was not good, cold, and had small increments of seafood that was just not appetizing. The shrimp and grits were very disappointing. They tried to do to much and ruined the dish. I have never seen fried grits and corn on my shrimp and grits. There was so many flavors and colors on the plate that it just hurt the dish and made it un appetizing. Now onto the ambiance. The restaurant was way too bright for me and my dates liking. The candles were not lit. It felt as thought it was mid day and we were eating lunch there. All in all my experiences at boure have been severely below par and I hope people will take this into consideration when eating here.

HR S.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Oxford. Have had the burger and the filet there. They were excellent. This trip had the shrimp poboy. Not impressed. Paucity of shrimp and bread too soft. Will stick with the other selections. This was the first time I ordered to go using their online ordering system. It worked great. User friendly and fast! As usual the restaurant was very busy, but I received my to-go order exactly as scheduled.

Coon E.

Yelp
Used to really like going here but the last two times were not very good. Ordered the Boure burger and they brought the breakfast burger. Dry and tough. Ordered the shrimp and grits recently and it was very smokie with lots of bell peppers , onions and sausage. Had no resemblance or flavor or shrimp and grits. My wife had the country fried steak and was very tough. One thing we used to love was the fried crawfish as appetizers but they discontinued.

Sharon H.

Yelp
Shrimp & grits was amazing!!!! Service was great! Highly recommend! Hummus great also but huge serving so be prepared!

Suzanne C.

Yelp
Back again. Had the chicken carbonara. Which on reflection should have been a mistake after just returning from two weeks in Italy and having the same several times. It wasn't a mistake. It was amazing and a huge portion. in addition, the Caesar salad is one of our families top five. They are picky Caesar salad eaters so this is a feat of distinction. And we live in atlanta where good restaurants abound. Husband had the salmon and it was above average. But again we have many top restaurants in our city. So food 4.5 stars. Service. Almost always five stars. Drinks... this is where Boure needs help. Wine list has always been crappy. It's gotten better. But really? It's not great. Go to the Sipp and take notes. Or any restaurant in atlanta. Good wine rules the table. Especially by the glass since girls never agree on a bottle. Cocktail list also stinks. Really? you have a bar upstairs. Can't u get creative? Suddenly, Lenoras down the street has an amazing cocktail List. Go visit! If you get to Boure before they sell out of their frozen cocktails, you stand a chance of an interesting cocktail. I would definitely go back but would appreciate some attn to cocktails and wine list.

Kerri R.

Yelp
Food is #1, even over service & ambience, but this was a "miss". The grilled cheese with white cheddar was not the hot, melty goodness I hoped with the inside not hot enough. The bread was good, perfectly griddled. The tomato basil soup was flavorful & piping hot but the fried cheese curd left a greasy mouth feel, without contributing anything to the dish. A side of whole grilled okra needed a bit more seasoning. The other entree of Red Snapper was a bitter disappointment after many recommendations for the fish dishes. It was a sizable portion of golden brown fish atop a bed of what appeared to be INSTANT rice - sticky clumps, when I would have expected long grain. I could not cut the coating on the fish with a fork. It was heavy & tough, and oily. The accompanying green onion hush puppies were small, overcooked little nuggets that were greasy, with almost no 'middle' and certainly no evidence of the green onion in the menu description. I use green onion in the ones I make at home so I would know. And mine are crispy & light, properly fried in the hottest oil, turned once! With a fluffy, flavorful inside. Not these - I had one bite and left them on the plate with the rice. I got a take out for the fish. I'll remove the breading and use the fish for a chowder.

Brad A.

Yelp
Great Cajun food!! Would recommend for anyone looking for some great Cajun. Recommend the shrimp and grits.

A B.

Yelp
Loved the wet salad & hummus appetizer. Located right on the square. Service was good.

Kendra C.

Yelp
This is one of my go-tos when I can't decide where else to eat. My favorite sweet potatoes in town! I also love their salads and pasta. Their upstairs patio is a fave spot for an evening glass of wine for me and my husband. It does get very busy in the evenings and on weekends but usually always worth the wait.

Vicki D. B.

Yelp
Even though it was a Friday night, we were seated very quickly. Our waiter was funny, personable, and very attentive. The seafood jambalaya was great, but the shrimp tacos good, but a bit disappointing. Overall, it was a pleasant evening.

Jason G.

Yelp
From the outside it appears that it is a formal restaurant but I was pleasantly surprised that it was more of a dressy casual vibe. I went with a larger group but they were able to accommodate us, so that was helpful. Had a burger that was perfectly prepared. Definitely will return on next trip to Oxford.

Johnna V.

Yelp
Order the Ribeye and was not disappointed. Cooked perfect. Blue cheese crumbles with a balsamic reduction gave a nice flavor. Server recommended the jambalaya so intrigued to go back since the Ribeye was not their first choice... hmmm

Stephanie D.

Yelp
Boure is a must when visiting Oxford. Excellent menu choices, right on the square and great people watching if you snag a spot on the balcony. The pasta jambalaya is delicious. No reservations but you can get on the waitlist and walk around the square.

Jay S.

Yelp
After being ignored by the staff for 10 minutes waiting to be seated, we eventually had a nice meal at Boure. We started with the Fried Crawfish Bites ($13.99) which had a really great spicy sauce. Next up was the main course where we ordered a Boure burger (blue cheese, sauce, fried pickles) with onion rings, a cheesesteak and a kid's Fettuccine Alfredo. The burger was tasty with a little spice and the onion rings were awesome. The cheesesteak was merely average -- we couldn't find any cheese on it and the meat was a little too salty. The kids Fettuccine Alfredo was probably the best thing we had. Everyone was fighting over it. Overall, Boure is a fun place to eat. Service was decent and prices were reasonable.

Sarah S.

Yelp
I came in this evening with a small group for a drink and a dessert. We ordered the drinks before the dessert and had completely finished the dessert at least 15 minutes before our drinks even arrived. There was no wait and several empty tables in view of where I was seated....yet the restaurant being busy was our server's excuse for slow service. I would estimate it took about 25 minutes for our 3 drinks to come out. We unfortunately had to send back one of the drinks but cancelled the order and left when it had been another 10 minutes with no sign of the different drink or our server. When dealing with unfortunate service at a restaurant, I always consider that sometimes, it may just be off that day for whatever reason. However, I've given Boure the benefit of the doubt one to many times. Today was their third and final chance. I won't be back. And I certainly will not recommend this place nor will I spread any form of positive WOM.

Chet C.

Yelp
I like this place! Nice casual place and the food is good. I wish they had a big nice Ribeye.

Jake W.

Yelp
First off, service is top tier. Everyone is super nice and welcoming. However, my first experience was well under par from what people have told me. Sausage and cheese plate, as well as the egg roll appetizer were good, not great. The shrimp and grits , however, were terrible. Plain boiled shrimp, some with shells still on, served with a very bland Cajun sauce. I'm aware it was my first trip, but what a letdown it was. I will give it another shot at some point, but will stay away from the shrimp and grits.

Ashley G.

Yelp
The steak was ok..not great! The service was excellent! The atmosphere was great! I will be back to try other things on the menu! They have an awesome upstairs area and outdoor space!

Christi A.

Yelp
Atmosphere and food was delicious. We were a walk in Large party. We had the private room and everything was delicious

Bob A.

Yelp
Great southern food, attentive service, fun cocktails. Ideally located at edge of famous Courthouse Square. Quiche special was a big, deep dinner-sized slice, and the pasta jambalaya was spot on. So many other dishes on the menu that we wanted to try. Came here the night before daughter's graduation from Ole Miss. Bouré did not disappoint!

Eric K.

Yelp
Upscale southern cuisine done right. Our server Nick suggested a great drink in the 'Lane Train', it was so good I ordered a second. We started with popcorn shrimp and for entrees had pan fried hamburger steak and pasta jambalaya. Everything was well prepared and had the right amount of spice in the jambalaya. The atmosphere was great and Nick was very attentive. A must when visiting Oxford.

Adrien S.

Yelp
The food and atmosphere here are always great. 10/10, and highly recommend for anyone in look of some good / original food (for this town), and good drinks.

R.J. H.

Yelp
We returned for a second visit and brought family from out of town. Everyone loved their food. Service was great again. Feedback - we saw a young lady sitting at a 6 top table. She was there when we sat down and was still there more than an hour later. We saw 4 or 5 families come in and were told the wait was going to be 20-30 minutes. All the family's left and did not put their name in. Seeing the young lady waiting over an hour for her friends to show was absolutely ridiculous. The table could have been turned minimum 1x while we were there. She ordered water the entire time. If the entire party is not there, DON'T Seat Them! If I was a server and that was my table I would have been upset!

Spencer S.

Yelp
Mind you I haven't been able to get back down to Oxford since before COVID-19, but that doesn't mean I'm not thinking about all the wonderful people and wonderful eats down yonder. Boure is the stuff of dreams. Super fun atmosphere, right on the city square, and spitting distance of other great food and drink establishments. In such a food-rich area a restaurant really needs to shine. In the half dozen times that I was a patron I tried several different dishes, but the one I still drool over is the Pasta Jambalaya. Pair this with a cup of the Gumbo or a side salad and I am in heaven. The portions are large and make for great leftovers. The pasta was always al dente and the assorted meats and vegetables were flavorful and plentiful. No complaints with any of my visits.

Megan C.

Yelp
The food here is amazing. It turns into the bar at night and the drink are pretty good. safe from the college students

Robbie M.

Yelp
Anniversary dinner there was fantastic. I had shrimp & grits and my wife had crab cakes. Being originally from Louisiana we are hard to impress but Boure' is every bit as good as those great Louisiana restaurants. Only complaint is that it is very loud in the restaurant.

Lauren H.

Yelp
We will definitely be coming back! This was our last night after moving part of our family down here and the rest will follow later. We went due to Yelp reviews I read and a local recommendation. I had the salmon and I ate all of it. I'm not a big fish lover but I eat it every once in a while. I finished every last bite. The filet melted in your mouth. It was all delicious!

Sophia M.

Yelp
I love boure!! Whenever my parents are in town we always make a stop here. The staff is great and the food is amazing! There's a great variety of items to pick from and the bar upstairs is cool too!!

John P.

Yelp
It was very good and the service was fantastic. We had a glass of wine and a couple of very well crafted Old Fashions

Alan P.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant on the square in Oxford. An outstanding restaurant downstairs, and a 'grown up' place to party upstairs. As an Ole Miss MBA student in my 30s I still like to have a good time, but I'm well beyond my $5 pitcher of beer days. Boure is perfect if you are looking for a place to drink on the square, but your undergrad days are behind you. The food is outstanding as well. I had the ribeye last time I was there and it was legit. Boure is a five star spot on the Square.

G T.

Yelp
Sat on the deck. Server made sure he checked Id and said he'd give us a few to figure out what we wanted. Then never saw him again so walked out

J J.

Yelp
Decent food. Wide variety to choose from. It is noisy though.

John S.

Yelp
I went to Boure for a business dinner, did not regret it at all. Good atmosphere, even better food.
