This place is absolutely amazing! The food is phenomenal and the vibe is great. We sat on the patio which is dog friendly. Some of the staff came to say hello to our dog and gave him some treats. Our waiter was very attentive. The baked Mac and cheese was probably the best Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life! I will definitely be back!

Google
This is a charming classic American restaurant with a little Italian flair. There was a live piano man singer in the dining room! You just don't see that often. Meat loaf was rich and flavorful. I couldn't pass up with seafood pasta. Delicious. French onion soup had a good broth. Not the best I've had, but quite good. We'll be back!

Some of the best Mac and cheese we've ever had. Burger was good, too. Went on a rainy Wednesday night, wasn't crowded. Perfect for date night. Definitely going back!

My daughter is getting married, and I met her fiancé‘s parents yesterday in the afternoon for an amazing meal and amazing service! Our waiter was Brian and he was excellent! I was so impressed because the first thing he did was point out the dishes they are known for and then he Told us about the specials. He was very attentive and super friendly and very nice. The whole experience was unbelievably wonderful! I love this restaurant and just felt compelled to give them a good review because this is one of my favorite places to go. Thank you, Brian for your wonderful service And great friendly attitude! I highly recommend this place.

Google
Love the drinks, service and atmosphere at the tavern. The food is just average. The buffalo wings, sandwiches and French fries each get 5 stars. But the grilled peach salad had peaches that were not grilled and also not quite ripe. The French onion soup is good but not great. Our server, Danielle, was attentive and on the ball. Overall a decent place. We will be back.

I haven’t been to Bowmans Tower in a few years, but, I’m going to start going more often. I had a 16 ounce strip steak and my GF have the 8 ounce filet mignon. Both were wealth seasoned and delicious. We repaired that with the house Cabernet (don’t remember the name) but, liked it very much. For an entrée, we both had French onion soup which was very good.

We drove down from NYC to see a show that afternoon and decided on Bowman's Tavern for dinner afterwards. I ordered the Bowman's Manhattan and it was excellent. My wife and I split the Bowman's Salad and it too was very good albeit a bit over dressed. LOVED the pickled rhubarb and Marcona almonds, which are my favorite! Unfortunately we had some issues with our entree's. My wife ordered the Spinach Ravioli. The description sounded fresh and light (spring onion, wild mushrooms, shaved asparagus, spring pea and mint puree, pecorino romano, fulper farms ricotta filling). No where did it mention anything about cream in the dish and unfortunately it arrived in a cream sauce which my wife really didn't want and made the dish much heavier than she was hoping for. My wife didn't want to say anything so she ate it...it was fine, but whoever wrote the menu really needs to add cream to the description. My ribs arrived nearly cold. I sent them back but refiring the rack didn't completely heat them through despite arriving on a hot plate...but they were warm enough to eat. Unfortunately because they were reheated, the BBQ sauce over half the ribs was now charred which was a shame because the three ribs I ate were moist and tender. The accompanying corn bread was a little on the dry side and the rotini pasta salad was fine. Service was excellent, very attentive and apologetic for the kitchen's missteps. We only wished the food last night was as good as the service.

Google
Rustic, romantic tavern at base of Bowman's tower -- which makes a great hike through nature before lunch, brunch or dinner. From comfort fare to more elevated dishes. Great for date, family, or solo at friendly bar. Good burger, great eggplant sandwich, wonderful salads, limited desserts. Backroom table for moderate sized group wanting privacy, by reservation. Don't let the two parking entrances confuse you. Heading north toward New Hope (but a few miles shy), the first driveway is labeled for valet but is closest to entrance -- so handicapped should enter here, as well. Second driveway. -- just past the restaurant-- is self-parking with a long path along front of building to get to entrance. We were confused, as were other people looking for entrance closer to self-parking. There are stairs and a ramp to front door. The elders in our group did fine, with slight assistance. We were there for lunch but noted there is often live music at night and other fun activities/entertainment. I sense you'd feel like a regular on your first evening there. Staff was very helpful and accommodating.

Yelp
Bowman's Tavern has a cozy vibe for a cold day. On a Saturday afternoon, the bar was full, and the atmosphere still managed to be cozy. My husband ordered wings, which were pretty average. My turkey and cranberry sandwich was pretty good. The bar service was a bit slow, but to be fair, it seemed like there was only one person servicing the bar and restaurant area. Overall, I would probably go with 3.5 stars if that was an option.

Yelp
We've been going to Bowman's Tavern for many years because it's halfway between where my parents live and where I live. I've never understood why they have valet parking. We've only been at lunchtime so maybe it's more convenient for dinner time. I would prefer no valet parking. There's a parking lot very close to the restaurant so it doesn't seem necessary. Beth was our server. She was friendly and helpful. We had the Bowman's Burger, cheese steak, and sliced roast beef sandwich. The sliced roast beef sandwich had the best bread. For dessert, we had the brownie as well as churros which were on the special menu for today. Everything was delicious.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place more than I did. Let's start with the parking. They have a very small self parking lot which was full when I arrived. The large parking lot on the other side is valet park only which seems ridiculous, it's not like it's in a busy downtown area. While the valet park is free, you of course have to tip them for driving your car 20 feet to an open space... Inside I was expecting an old style tavern experience, but the table we were sat at in the dining room was very dark because the lights were not working and the drop ceiling gave it an office feel. As for the food, the lamb meatballs tasted OK, lacking a little in seasoning and herbs, but the consistency was that of a formed extremely finely ground meat, not at all what I was expecting based on my background in England. The burger on the other hand was quite good. The service was OK. One final point is that they have a credit and debit card surcharge of 4% which is one of the highest I've come across. Unfortunately, nothing about this place screamed come back and try me a second time!

Yelp
It has been a few years since we ate at Bowman's Tavern, and we decided to have Happy Hour here tonight. It also happened to be Taco Tuesday. ----- FOOD (4/5) Roast Pork Sandwich (3/5 ) -- We shared a pork sandwich which was pulled pork on a long roll with broccoli rabe, roasted hot peppers, and melted provolone.  The pork was braised rather than roasted, the broccoli rabe was under cooked with tough stems, and there was too much provolone for the amount of pork. ($17) Onion Rings (4/5) -- We were offered onion rings as one of the sides with the Pork Sandwich ... but not told there would be a $3 uplift. Fish & Chips (4/5) -- Two large Altantic cod fillets with fries and cole slaw. ($26) Tacos (3/5) -- The soft tacos ordered were Al Pastor and Carne Asada. There was a good amount of meat in each taco, but they lacked flavor and spice. ($8 per pair) ----- SERVICE (3/5) The restaurant was very busy, including a 17-person in the dining room, and understaffed.  Our server was also tending the bar.  Twice we had to chase her down. ----- DRINKS (5/5) Drinks from the bar were excellent.  I had the Old Fashioned, and my wife had a Gin Martini, extra dry with olives.  Both great.  Others had Cosmopolitans and IPAs. ---- AMBIANCE (4/5) I really like the dark wood, pub-like interior.  Tables in the bar area are hi-boys; there are standard tables in the dining room. The bar area was loud. A nice touch was live music.

Yelp
This is a fun place with consistent food. The service is away good and the vib is friendly and up beat.

Robert C.

Yelp
It started with the "valet" parking. Rude kids driving your car. pretty much open seating, since there were not many people there for dinner at 5:30. Food was ok, but a bit slow and the drink pour was poor.

Yelp
Used to be great but the service and food quality now have gone way down. This used to be one of our favorites but after four years of very good this past year has truly been terrible and management could care less.Save your money and your time Burgers were grey and managers handled disgusting food with no remorse.

Yelp
First time I've been here and I have to say the salmon was perfect..... I asked for well done and I got it just the way I like it. The server was efficient and attentive even though the restaurant was busy. I loved the community vibe and the karaoke singing!

Yelp
Bowman's Tavern holds a special place in my heart, consistently ranking as one of my favorite restaurants. The ambiance at Bowman's is a delightful fusion of rustic charm and modern comfort. The warm hues, wood work create an inviting tavern atmosphere One of the standout features is the live music, which adds a vibrant layer to the overall dining experience. It's the perfect backdrop to enjoy a fantastic meal while unwinding with friends or family. Just do no sit at the high-tops / half the bar when there is live music if you are hard of hearing. It can get loud with the music in a smaller venue. Now, onto the food - Bowman's Tavern never disappoints. The menu is a culinary journey, offering a diverse selection that caters to various tastes of modern tavern food. From their signature dishes to seasonal specials, each item reflects a commitment to quality and flavor. The service is consistently attentive, making every visit a seamless and enjoyable affair. THEY ROCK, such sweet people who work and run the tavern. Whether you're looking for a cozy spot for a casual dinner or a place to celebrate special occasions, Bowman's Tavern consistently delivers. It's not just a restaurant; it's an experience that keeps me coming back for more. Highly recommended for those seeking a perfect blend of inviting atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and live music charm right near the heart of New Hope. But - you can not walk there from down town NH just a warning!

Good food and service. Nice happy hour. Valet parking available, small parking lot without valet.

Yelp
Amazing food, service and atmosphere. A real gem to be discovered in bucks county ! You owe it to yourself to check this place out!!

Yelp
An attractive place that's larger inside than I expected it to be. There were several things on the menu I wanted to try, and opted for what I think was like an open faced Thanksgiving sandwich. I wasn't expecting the cranberry sauce to be mixed into the sandwich, and every bit of it - the turkey, the gravy, even the cranberry sauce, seemed at least a tiny bit not as good as it should've been, especially for the prices. I'm willing to go back and try something else, but I'll be sure to ask plenty of questions in order to get a better idea of what I can expect to be served. I think it's been about a month, so my husband can't remember exactly what he had, but he knows it was a vegetarian or vegan dish and that he was very pleased with it. Friendly service, both inside and at valet parking.

Yelp
Bowman's is my favorite restaurant, by far. The food is always fresh and creative and delicious, and their cocktails are far more generous compared to other places around here. We rarely get to go out for brunch (my favorite meal), and I have been dying to try Bowman's Sunday Brunch. We finally got to try it today. There were 5 of us, and it could not have been more lovely. Three of us had the omelette with potatoes and spring greens, one had the Eggs Benedict, and one had the beef stew (from the regular menu.) Every single one of us loved what we had chosen. We all shared the whipped Fulper Farms ricotta and crostini appetizer to start, which is one of my favorite things. Yum! The service by Carly and the rest of the extremely attentive staff was perfection, as always. And the music, provided by Bill Avayou and his group, was absolutely divine. You couldn't ask for a more perfect brunch experience, all around. I can't believe it took me so long to get to brunch at Bowman's.

Yelp
A short musket shot from Washington's Crossing, Bowman's Tavern could simply just mail it in given its location and the constant parade of touristas that pass by on their way to downtown New Hope for their palm readings and authentic, imitation tchotchkes. The food here is way above average when all it really needs to be is edible. The Calamari in chili oil was amazing as was the beet salad and my very Reubenesque Reuben sandwich. If you want a terrific meal without having to fight the hordes in New Hope, the colonial welcome mat is out at Bowman's. Five easy muskets.

Yelp
We sat in the bar for an early dinner. Fun little place. The pork and broccoli rabe sandwich is ... the best I've ever had. There, I said it. The Mac and cheese with chorizo was also pretty incredible. Would love to go back and check out the live music, especially the cabaret show. If you go, definitely get a reservation. The place was packed! There's free valet parking and you can tip via Venmo, which is always a huge relief.

Yelp
I called to make a reservation for 11 people for 3 weeks from now on a Friday night. I was told by the manager -"that's too many people and we can have that large of a group especially on a Friday night" so no they didn't take my reservation. Guess they didn't want our business. We will find another place that will welcome paying customers.

Todd M.

Yelp
Went there last weekend with friends. Great server and the ambiance is nice. Food was terrible. Apps were amateurish. Friend sent her burger back. She wanted medium/well. It came out raw, with a red soaked bun. Gross. We will not be backed.

Chris D.

Yelp
Unbelievable night at Bowman's Tavern. Great Ambiance, fantastic service and amazing food. Make a reservation because the place was packed. Live music was awesome, but from the dining room, it wasn't blaring, so we were able to enjoy our conversation. Calamari was awesome, wine was awesome, my steak was cooked perfectly and my fiancée loved the mushroom ravioli. So many great dessert specials to choose from, went with the tres leches cake and it did not disappoint. Can't recommend this place enough, we'll be back for sure
google avatar

Amy E.

Yelp
The food is so good and the portion sizes are perfect. The only thing I have had here that I wasn't much of a fan of was the Ruben, but the burgers, wings, roast beef, steak and eggs, whipped ricotta, corn fritters, ALL AMAZING. I cannot wait to come back for brunch again I want to try the juevos Ranchero. This is a valet drive up type of place but they're quick with getting your vehicle. Everyone is very friendly and accommodating overall great place to go for brunch, lunch, dinner or even dessert.
google avatar

Yelp
Do not order the French onion soup. It was not good at all And for 12.00. Bartender was great.
google avatar

Lucy D.

Yelp
Good tavern food and friendly wait staff. The highlight is the Friday night sing along with piano player. Actually not a sing along as much as talented people belting out solos.

Timothy W.

Yelp
Even before the food. The service was top notch. Pleasant atmosphere and very friendly service. Worth your time and money. Please try. The mussels are great.

M M.

Yelp
This restaurant continuously serves excellent food with stellar service . The menu is always being adapted to the season and certainly doesn't disappoint. We had a group of 6 and our waitress was fantastic keeping everyone's drinks filled and food on the table . We were very happy with the seafood strong specials on the menu. I'm impressed with the kitchen and front of house here as they have always delivered top notch service and quality food and btw ... this was on a Saturday night !!!!!

Maryanne M.

Yelp
The roast pork sandwich needs to be revised. The broccoli rabe was still on the stems! Very difficult to chew. Had to remove it from the sandwich. However, the service and ambience gets four stars.

Yelp
I am sad to leave such a poor review for a restaurant I used to frequent & recommend to others. I have not been here for several years and the last review I posted (via Facebook) was glowing. I love oysters. Happily, they are often on the menu at this establishment. Predictably, I ordered fried oysters and French fries today. I also asked the waitress for tartar sauce, at the time I ordered. Although not overly crowded (especially for a Saturday) our order took a long time to be delivered to the table. My plate of 5 oysters were large (and a little greasy upon biting in). Two oysters were so chewy, I had to discard the mastication in my napkin. They were breaded in something containing a hot spice. [There was an Oyster Tostado selection on the menu - perhaps the batter was inspired by, or created for, this dish.] Instead of tartar sauce, I was given some kind of dill-heavy (mayo & sour cream?) dipping sauce. I wasn't paying attention to the sauce when I had my first oyster. So, my initial impression was just that they were oddly flavored. That's when I first detected the tang to the batter. It was with the second oyster I realized I wasn't dipping them into tartar sauce. But by that time I had encountered one of the chewy ones and was trying to deal with discarding the mess. I probably could have found the waitress, waited until my oysters got colder, but by that time the iceberg had already hit and she was going down. I was so very disappointed.

Judi M.

Yelp
We always have a great meal at Bowman's Tavern and the ambiance and service is excellent! Always consistent! It's our favorite place to go!

Anne S.

Yelp
Zero stars - come here, especially if you are a woman, if you want to be berated and verbally attacked by the owner for noting your pork chop has taken over 30 minutes to arrive! Literally called my friend a disgusting pig for noting that to the waitress. All the verbal abuse being said in front of a toddler. We have been loyal local customers for years and this was nothing like we have ever experienced before. Unprofessional doesn't even begin to describe the treatment we endured.

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Food was very good and quick to arrive. They accommodated us last minute with kids. Service was excellent. Ambience was very nice with live music. We had a great meal!

Yelp
Driving up to this bed and breakfast felt like a fairy tale. The lights on the trees along the driveway was magical. Went here for my babymoon and it was everything I could ask for. It was romantic, quaint, and welcoming. Everyone on staff was lovely! The dog on premise was adorable. The food was fantastic. I can't wait to return! Especially when the pool reopens.

Jan S.

Yelp
Went out with another couple last night and was close to perfect. Ambience and service was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed their meals except me, but I'll get to that. The group shared the ricotta app -excellent. The dinners were the Meatloaf, shrimp and grits, fish and chips -very good. Now to mine:( the Corn Ravioli. Ingredients were great, but it was drowning in what must have been a stick of butter. I'll have to double my statin dose after that meal.

Jp S.

Yelp
Before Covid this place was the tops for a casual but excellent meal. Shortly after Covid and they reopened it was disappointing (for several months). Now, it seems to be back and in full force. The food was great and the service was wonderful. If you have never had the onion soup, it's terrific.

Lily B.

Yelp
This our go to restaurant in the New Hope area. Service is always great. Nice patio area and relaxing experience. Mix of older and young people. Good tavern food.

Yelp
A very nice restaurant with tons of charm and excellent service. Appetizers were from expected to unique (we had a mock Tuna Tartare) that was amazing! Our mains were exquisitely plated and we enjoyed the chicken dishes we ordered and would highly recommend them. A very good Wine and Beer list help bring this all together as a solid restaurant.

Yelp
Great pub fare in friendly atmosphere! Delicious burgers, plates and sandwiches. Nice assortment of beers and cocktails too.

Yelp
Stopped in for a lovely brunch last week, this was our first visit and definitely won't be our last. Sampled 2 appetizers, chorizo mac and cheese and the octopus. We also tried the grilled reuben and the scallops. Both great, the scallops were amazing. Highly recommend

Yelp
Delicious food, wonderful service and friendly atmosphere! Valet service when being used makes life easier.

Yelp
I have passed this place many times going into New Hope. The other week we finally decided to check it out with my brother & sister in law. On Thursday nights, they have live singers/bands. I called on Monday to make a reservation since the weather was getting nicer out & I wanted to make sure we had a table not knowing how busy they really got. The hostess was extremely friendly and helpful. We got there a little earlier than my brother & S.I.L. so we decided to have a drink at the bar. They have complimentary fresh popped popcorn they give you. I love this idea! I ordered a black-raspberry cosmo, it was delicious! I could have drank a few more but since I was driving I stuck with 1. We were seated as soon as everyone in our party showed up, we had a great view of the live music. I was pleasantly surprised the music was not overly loud, where you can not talk to your table. Our singer was very energetic and really engaged with the restaurant. Our table ordered pan seared gnocchi, wood roasted lamb sandwich, the filet. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend stopping here if you are in the New Hope area.

Yelp
Awesome tavern/restaurant. Beautiful decor, live music, friendly & attentive wait staff. Tried the meatloaf, since they're famous for it. Best meatloaf ever. Mashed potatoes were tasty, but felt like they sat under heat lamp, but can be forgiven as everything else was awesome. Fresh green beans were very tasty. The ricotta appetizer was amazing. Highly recommend.

Leslie M.

Yelp
Always an Excellent dining experience! The food is delicious and the staff is very accommodating.

Yelp
Bowman's is one of the best brunch places in the area. Never disappointed, always consistent, and live music in the background is a lovely touch. I've had too many good things on the menu to name them all but today we had.... Eggs Benedict (Perfect in every way!), Whipped Ricotta (Silky, Divine Goodness), and Cornmeal Crusted Oysters (Perfectly Juicy on the inside, Light Crunch on the outside). With 2 bars, private rooms and formal dining tables, you can make it a quick bite, a romantic meal or a family affair. Be prepared for Valet parking. Not enough space to park your own but they are efficient and quick.

Yelp
We have been dying to go to Bowman's Tavern for quite some time. We've had several friends rave about it but, every time we go to make a same day reservation, they are completely booked (unless we want to eat at 9pm). That's definitely a good sign! This time I used the brains I was given and made reservations a week in advance. I was finally able to experience for myself why Bowman's gets such high praise. As soon as we opened the door we were greeted with fantastic aromas coming from the kitchen, as well as warm, welcoming smiles and hellos from the hostess and manager. We were seated immediately in their cozy dining room and I was pleased to find out that we could still hear the bar pianist who provided lovely dinner music. I have to give special recognition to our server Jessica. She was fantastic... on point... superb... patient... friendly, etc. (I'm running out of adjectives). This is exactly how service should be! We started with a few appetizers; French fries, Bibb lettuce salad and Fried Oysters. My friend was in love with her Bibb salad and said it was one of the best salads she's ever had. A delicious mix of lettuce, cornbread croutons, smoked gouda and onion vinaigrette. The oysters were lightly battered and paired nicely with the spicy aioli. Our main entrees were the Swordfish special, build-your-own Burger, Seared Scallops and the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich. One of our friends had the Swordfish. He said it was flaky yet firm and the vegetable mix with squash and zucchini was excellent. He never tasted anything like it. Our other friend had the Hot Roast Beef Sandwich which she said was very tender. The roll had the perfect chewiness and the horseradish sauce had a nice little bite to it. My husband had the Seared Scallops. Six large scallops cooked perfectly and he absolutely loved the unique vegetable accompaniment of pea puree, white asparagus, Peruvian potatoes, pit ham, mustard greens and pearl onions. He's never had anything like it. I built my own burger. It was a large, grass-fed, char-broiled beef burger that was oh-so delicious. The char-broiled flavor was absolutely fantastic! The shredded lettuce, cheese and mayo made this burger one of the best I've ever had. I wish I could eat one every day. Oh yes, let's not forget the onion rings and French fries. The onion rings had the perfect amount of batter. They were crisp but not greasy, the way onion rings should be! The fries were also cooked exactly the way I like them. We ended the evening with their outstanding freshly brewed coffee. We were presented with the check but not rushed out by any means. As we walked out many of the staff thanked us for coming and wished us a pleasant weekend. Overall, Bowman's Tavern was one of the best dining experiences we've had in recent years! We will, without question, be back!

Yelp
We ate there on Saturday 10/15/22. Classic hamburger (miss the patty melt) was very good. Home made Ravioli was outstanding. Service at bar where we sat was slow with only one barkeep.
google avatar

John A.

Yelp
I came here for two things: their French Onion Soup and their Cheesesteak. Both were incredible. One of the best French Onion Soups I've ever had (and I've had a lot!). The cheese was delicious and "baked" on to the bowl. The soup itself was hot and flavorful! The Cheesesteak was filling and also delicious. I got it with provolone and some fried onions. Man, I was stuffed but it was a great lunch! Sat at the bar, which I enjoyed as well. Wish I lived closer to this place. (It's 90 minutes from me!) They do offer valet parking in the first lot but I went the second lot on the other side of the building and parked myself.
google avatar

Jim M.

Yelp
Staff is friendly, usually, but the food is hit or miss. And the owner/manager seems to have anger issues. I've witnessed him berating customers for sending food back, etc.

Donna P.

Yelp
Sat at a cozy bar with yummy lunch selections! I would definitely recommend ! Lively conversation was enjoyable.

Yelp
What a great experience from efficient vallet parking to perfect service to perfect food. We were so happy with dinner tonight! We chose to share a super fresh beet salad with microgreens, roasted pistachios and feta. It was absolutely delicious! My friend had French onion soup and fried oysters... a weird combo but she said they were yummy. I had wonderfully crispy fish and chips with delicious coleslaw about the best I ever ate. Even my iced tea was on point. Our server was outstanding. We were treated exactly like you'd want the best service to be. There was an excellent piano player and the mood was great. Not a stuffy place at all. You can eat sandwiches, salads or platters & there were families with children, older folks and hipsters all in the same place. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Horrible food. Used to be amazing went multiple times a week. The lunch club used to be amazing. Have had raw and incorrectly prepared food the last few times. I don't want to have a 50/50 chance of having a terrible meal. Service is usually good. Owner has anger issues, seen him yelling at customers for sending food back. Parking lot is terrible for some reason doesn't have lines for spots and has terrible quality gravel that leaves cars and shoes filthy. Valet has always been amazing and respectful.

Yelp
What a great locals kind of place. They have valet parking in busy nights, so be prepared. We were a party of 8 and the service was perfect! As were the food and drinks. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I had the olive oil poached beets and a house salad. Both were fresh and appealing to my eye. Aria d they table we had scallops, salmon, chicken all with the house salad. I enjoyed that we weren't rushed and could talk for a while. There was live music that wasn't just the right volume. This is a casual spot that you can have a meal with that special someone, hang out at the bar or ho with a group of friends. The food is always spot on.
