Gorgeous park. Unfortunately when I took my toddler, there was a guy drinking alcohol on one the benches. On the other bench, there was another guy that looked high on some sort of drugs.

I took this photo of downtown San Rafael while hiking on trail above Boyd Memorial Park. I ❤️ this park ★★★★★

I visited the Marin History Musuem that is located in the Boyd Gate house. The museum sits along the Boyd Memorial Park. The park is 4 acres of green space with a hiking trail traversing through a redwood forest. As I entered the park, I noticed several individual unhoused individuals exiting and entering and walking up onto the trail. I initially intended to go on a hike but changed my mind considering this was unknown territory for me. Also even though the City of San Rafael website still has the playground listed, sadly to say it no longer exists. The play structure has been taken out with nothing to replace it.

This hike is beautiful. Easy to get to and moderate uphill / if you're fat and lazy like me you will sweat. just go up Robert Dollar drive and the trailhead there and when you hit the fork you can go either way because of loops. I recommend taking a right it's less uphill severity. And it shaded.

Great views from the trails above, kind of a steep climb but short and a good easy one.

The park is always filled with trash. It is the drug and drinking spot for Rafael high kids. Good spot to walk your dog. The trash is unreal though. Modello bottles and cans every where. Graffiti as well.

The house and playground a small trail around. Clean but you might see a couple of less fortunate living in the park.

Wonderful hike to the top, homless down at the bottom but going up was beautiful
