13 One Keys and 6 Two Keys Newly Awarded in the UK & Ireland

"Revived from neglect by a young couple, this 17th‑century manor in Willesborough has been transformed into a romantic, lived-in luxury retreat with open fires, timber beams and just nine bedrooms, where local ingredients and Kentish wines contribute to a strong sense of place in the restaurant." - The MICHELIN Guide

"Built in 1616 for the Boys family, this charming old house has been sympathetically converted into a hotel with eye-catching features at every turn, plus lovely gardens and land. The restaurant sits in an extension to the main house and serves high-quality Kentish produce, in flavourful dishes such as hake with roasted cauliflower, caviar and butter sauce. Great wines, also from Kent, are available to pair with your food and, should you wish to grab a drink before dining, the grounds also house a pub with a terrace." - Michelin Inspector

The Most Exciting Hotel Openings of 2023

"Whiz 35 minutes on the train out of London, and you can be here–in the heart of Kent, at a 17th-century Jacobean manor house with 10 bedrooms, a restaurant and walled gardens to explore. New owners Bradley and Kristie Lomas have a sparkly CV–Kristie founded former King's Cross space Drink, Shop and Do, while Bradley founded East London Pub Co. Food served in the restaurant, terraces and pub will use ingredients from the kitchen gardens, and there will be a 4,000 bottle wine cellar–perfect for long, lazy lunches in the sunshine."

Boys Hall (Willesborough, Kent) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"You know you’re in for an exceptional country house experience as you approach Boys Hall, its façade cradled by foliage, its three acres of gardens oozing appeal. The beautifully restored manor dates back to 1616, with each of the nine individually designed bedrooms leaning into this period charm with beams, wood paneling, and old-school floral prints. An airy, barn-like extension houses a lovely restaurant, and there’s even an on-site pub and terrace, ideal for cozying up with a drink in winter or soaking up the sun in summer." - Tablet Hotels

Boys Hall Hotel Review, Kent, UK | Hotels Above Par

"Set in a 17th-century, Grade II–listed manor surrounded by hydrangea and rose gardens, this cozy pub-with-rooms was reopened in early 2023 by Brad and Kristie Lomas and has become a book-ahead weekend escape for Londoners about 40 minutes from the capital. Inside is an ode to Jacobean living — huge sofas, tiled fireplaces and portraiture — with relaxed, no-fuss provincial service from a locally knowledgeable team. There are nine individually styled rooms reached up creaky stairs; the largest, the Bishop’s Quarter, features period wood panelling (rumoured to have been gifted by Charles I from Windsor Castle), grand period windows, a huge bed beneath a gold-leaf chandelier and a decadent roll-top golden tub, plus a bottle of Kentish apple brandy on the desk. Dinner in the conservatory is farm-to-table British from head chef Alfie Calie, sourcing as locally as possible from Kent’s farms and coast; standout plates include cakey focaccia with raspberry oil, heritage tomato and burrata, cider mussels, veggie schnitzel and big steaks, though the food can run salty at times (zesty cocktails help). Breakfast is a generous Full English with notably melt-in-your-mouth sausages and beans; skip the uninspiring buffet. Practical details: four-star rating, nine rooms from about $240/night including breakfast, on-site bar and restaurant, gardens, and easy access to nearby vineyards and the Kentish coast (a car is recommended; nearest airports Gatwick or Heathrow)."

We had a fantastic lunch celebrating my husband’s birthday. I booked the Drawing room for our family get together and Michael was our host and nothing was too much trouble for him. The room was set up beautifully with the fire going and candles, so it was warm with great ambience for a cold January. The whole venue is stunning with a relaxed, cosy vibe. We selected from the Winter Feasting menu and food was delicious and plentiful. Thank you to all the staff, especially Claire who helped organise the event and again to Michael who looked after us so professionally. I look forward to visiting again.

Lovely stay for my husband's 40th Birthday. Staff were very accomodating and friendly. We had a private dining room and was very well looked after. We also stayed the night and the room was lovely and again the team were very accomodating and helpful stting up rollout bed for our young son. However, would've liked to have had a dressing gown and slippers in the room for the price of the room and the standard expected.

We were invited here by my uncle, who is becoming a regular user of the on-site rooms. The food was wonderful, bursting with flavour and accompanied by a perfect selection of delicious side dishes and the wait staff were attentive and engaging at just the right level. It was definitely worth the 40-minute drive and the prices are commensurate with the quality of the food, drinks and service. If I have one small gripe it would be the selection of alcohol-free beers. I would have loved to have seen something local/crafty/IPA/pale, as opposed to Guinness and Lucky Saint, but I am a beer snob, so this could be a little petty.

An incredible birthday dinner for my 7-year-old. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff – they were friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The food was exquisite, as always. Thank you for going above and beyond to make my son’s birthday dinner so special. We had a wonderful evening and will definitely be returning.

We had a fabulous festive lunch last Saturday. On arrival we had drinks in the lounge which was the perfect way to start our lunchtime catch up. The staff were so attentive and helpful. We headed to our table and chose from the festive menu. Great choice, catering well for our pescatarian friend. Food was exceptional.! Presentation beautiful. We finished our meal with teas and festive truffles. We would highly recommend Boys Hall for any occasion. Thank you to all the staff 🎄

We went here as a group of 7 plus a baby. The ambiance as soon as you enter Boys Hall is homely and the decor makes it all that much more beautiful. It has been stunningly designed. We had drinks in the cosy lounge and then a meal to celebrate my mother’s birthday and couldn’t pick any faults . Michael the waiter was very attentive and accommodating and always friendly. The food was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you so much for making this birthday a very special one for my mum.

We came to Boys Hall on 12/1/26 for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We have been several times before as it is such a lovely venue, and close to home. Last night was, as always, a delightful experience. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. Coming to Boys Hall is always such a treat!

What a beautiful place to stay. The staff were great. The attention to detail and comfort in our room, The Margaret, was wonderful. The restaurant was so lovely and the selection of food and quality was amazing. It was a very short overnight stay for us but one that recharged us and made us feel very looked after. Would definitely return for a stay or to visit the restaurant with family/friends. Highly recommend. Also….. the most amazing freshly squeezed orange juice you will ever taste! Thank you Boys Hall x
