I wanted BBQ, Chuck wagon was not open on a Sunday. I heard Horner's BBQ was opening on Spring Road so I drove up but it is still not open. On the way back just before the fairgrounds I saw a sign "smoked brisket & fries $6.99". So I went into Brad's Pizza.
The place was a lot bigger than I expected. It seats 50 +
Behind the counter was Brad and a guy and a gal, two younger assistants. I ordered and paid for the brisket special and went to sit down. Several tables had dirty dishes just sitting there. I found one with out.
The menu is a typical pizza selection. Apart from the pizza very little on the menu was fresh. The prices were very reasonable, very reasonable.
Short wait and my brisket sandwich & fries came out. Everything was hot. The fries a good portion, they were frozen but the they did not have a lot of junk on them that many frozen fries have. The sandwich was big and crammed with meat. The roll was home made and a lot better than store bough bread. The brisket was juicy and tasty. It was thin sliced. There was not a lot of smoke taste now could I see any bark on the meat, but it was good.
At $6.99 this special was very good and something I would look out for again. They also had a pulled pork BBQ special.
I was pleasantly surprised by Brad's. I could not find a website , they have a FB page with 43 likes but it was not active, no pictures, no information.
Brad's is open 7 days a week so obviously he is working hard but maybe not smart. Here are some suggestions. Get a website, use FB every day to promote specials. Clear the tables. Change the sign to Brad's Pizza & BBQ. Have the smoker in the front parking lot so people can see it and smell it. Offer some more fresh foods. When doing BBQ offer baked beans and home made cole slaw. This would be a great location for making home made and selling ice cream as there is no one else on this side of town doing this.
Good luck Brad's.
9/20/13 I went a second time and tried the pulled pork BBQ. A mistake, stick with the smoked brisket.
