Brama | Restaurant Italien | Pizza - Pâtes - Traiteur

This is my second time at Brama and my experience there was so wonderful that I just had to leave a second review. The food was just as delicious as I remembered, if not better! My friends that went for the first time raved about each and every dish that was ordered. I got pats on the back for a great recommendation! The service was excellent, always with a wonderful smile. The restaurant was bustling and the atmosphere was pleasant. Special thanks to Chef John for going above and beyond to ensure that our meal was perfect. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal and if I didn't live so far (South shore), I would probably go every week!

Last night, we had the pleasure of enjoying a wonderful meal with friends at Brama. While it was their first visit, we had dined there several times before. The stakes were high, as all of our friends are Italian (unlike my husband and I), and their opinion of a restaurant representing their native cuisine mattered greatly. We were a group of four couples. We began with the calamari, which was light and crispy, served with a flavorful tarragon mayo. While we thoroughly enjoyed it, the portion felt a bit small for the price. The other three couples opted for the octopus salad, beautifully presented with fresh, delicious ingredients. It was a definite crowd-pleaser. For the main courses, our group enjoyed a variety of pizzas and pastas, all of which were delicious. We ordered the Quattro Pizza, which surprisingly featured a blend of six cheeses, caramelized onions, and arugula. Although I typically don’t enjoy salad on pizza—and didn’t notice this ingredient listed on the menu—it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. The soft, airy dough with just the right amount of crispness was outstanding, especially paired with the hot honey on the side. We also shared the ricotta cavatelli with beef cheeks, mushrooms, truffle sauce, and fior di latte—something our friends also ordered. This dish is truly a staple at Brama and an absolute winner. The melding of flavors was mouthwatering and not to be missed. Another couple enjoyed the cavatelli with spicy sausage and raved about it as well. Additional dishes included a variety of pizzas—Soppressata, Mortadolce, and Salsiccia—a carnivore’s dream that our group found flavorful and satisfying. We toasted the evening with a Ripasso and a Chianti wine, along with Italian Birra Moretti, Heineken, and Sol beers. Dessert featured carrot cake, hazelnut cheesecake, and a mixed berry gelato. All were enjoyable; however, the carrot cake—normally a favorite of mine—fell a bit short. It was slightly dry and lacked flavor, with minimal icing. Overall, it was a lovely conclusion to a meal that satisfied our palates and made me proud of my restaurant choice. My Italian friends were genuinely impressed and confirmed they would definitely return. A special mention goes to Courtney, our energetic and engaging server, who was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable, offering thoughtful details on every dish. As always, John, the master chef, delivered a stellar experience that truly impressed our Italian guests. Excellent service and amazing food! I’ve only ever had the cavatelli’s from Brama through delivery before this dine-in experience and it was so good I couldn’t even imagine how it would taste fresh at the table. They really did not disappoint. I spent about $275 for two people but I also paid for all the appetizers for 4 people and a drink. Cavolo Riccio salad (Beets, goat cheese and apple in a kale salad): it was delicious and creamy but a little bit too sweet for me since I wanted something more refreshing. I was mind blown though because this salad tasted exactly like a CREAMSICLE. Arancini: the sauce was good, everything had great texture, it wasn’t dry, very cheese and fluffy. My friends loved it. Octopus: very delicious, slightly tangy and sweet. The texture was perfect and I like the little pieces of potatoes in there. Lamb chops: WOW. It was the star of the show. Comes with 3 pieces but you can add another piece for $9. The sauce was refreshing- minty I think, the lamb itself was seasoned to perfection, it wasn’t too gamey, so tender and juicy. I would be happy just eating that all night. Linguini seafood pasta: pasta was cooked just right, seafood was tender and the sauce was very light, very light on the salt and easy to eat. Delicious! Bolognese Spaghettoni: the texture of this pasta was phenomenal. I love the bite it has, the sauce was delicious but very salty. I love salty foods so it was perfect for me but might be hard for the average Joe to eat. Fettuccini Rosée: I normally do not get a plain rosée pasta since it’s easy to make and seem so simple but WOW I regret not getting that myself. It was so good, flavours were perfectly balanced and I love the pasta shape. Gnocchi Pancetta: I wasn’t too wowed by this but maybe because the gnocchi was so soft and pillowy I was very surprised! I think it was a texture thing for me but I’m sure making gnocchi that soft must take a lot of skills so I would recommend it if you like soft gnocchi/foods!

A hidden gem! We were a group of seven. Everything from the appetizers to the mains and the desserts were absolutely delicious. If you’re a group, I highly recommend ordering a few appetizers, salads and meals (what we did) to share because everything on the menu is incredible. Service was also fantastic and friendly. Will definitely be going back! There were large groups of 20+ that were loud so it was a little difficult to hear, but not the restaurant’s fault! I still give 5 stars across the board for this place!!!

Brama is, without a doubt, the best restaurant I’ve ever been to in Montreal! As a big foodie, I’ve tried countless places, and nothing compares to the incredible flavors and quality here. Every dish is thoughtfully prepared, perfectly balanced, and bursting with taste. I can confidently say it’s my #1 favorite spot in the city! Hands down! If you love food that truly excites your palate, Brama is an absolute must-try!

Absolutely amazing. Firstly, glad we reserved through friends because it was busy! Jess was an amazing help with ordering and recommendations. The food killed. Pizza with pancetta, fries, calamari, squid, salmon tartar, pasta (yes many) and the prime rib. Kids ate good and so did we. Great ambiance and 90s music. Beautiful.

Ordered the four cheese pizza and macaroni for pasta, calamari for appetizer that was paired with white wine. Food was good! The pasta was cooked al dente, the calarmari was just okay and I find the serving was a little small but over all it was a good dinner! Giving it a 4 star just because there was not enough parking space (street parking).

Hard to not be impressed with this place. Food is consistently fantastic and the portions are great. The staff is very attentive and extremely friendly. The bar makes some great drinks(I recommend the spicy Margarita) and the beer that they important is really good. I met the chef, John and gave him my compliments, the flavors are outstanding. Brama is a hidden gem, and if you haven’t been there, go, you won’t regret it.

We got an Uber delivery done at our home. We went for a margarita, pizza and cannoli. Both were amazing. The pizza tasted very fresh. Cannoli was really good. The combination of chocolate chips on one side and pistachio on the other was quite amazing. Definitely recommended.

We came here on a Friday afternoon and ordered two pasta dishes to go. The location is industrial, with free but limited street parking only. The restaurant has a small and cozy dine in area and separate area for take out orders. We tried the pappardelle Bolognese and cavatelli al guanciale. We noticed for some items the pricing online differed from the menu on site - the prices were cheaper online. I am not sure if this is because the menu wasn't updated or perhaps there is a different charge for dining on site. We immediately went to the car and tasted the food, the pappardelle is described as cooked in a "slow cooked meat sauce with beef veal, pork and fennel sausage" however the sauce tasted more like plain tomato and was slightly too acidic. It was missing some sweetness and there wasn't nearly enough noticeable meat. The pasta was otherwise well cooked but this was an average dish. I would not re-order. The cavatelli on the other hand was extremely flavorful, a rich creamy sauce that was very decadent. The only drawback was the shape of the pasta, these looked like fat maggots. In terms of pricing and portion, I thought this was pretty fair since this is supposed to be fresh handmade pasta. The location itself was difficult to get to for us and the size of the restaurant was quite small for dine in, we would have to make sure we reserve in advance if we planned on coming back.

Do not let the outer location of this place fool you, you have to add this to your Montreal food list. Server Jessika warned us of a larger party but was so accommodating. At the end of the meal, she mentioned that next time it might be best to make a reservation to avoid long wait times, but we lucked out. Something to keep in mind if we go back! We sat at the bar and had prosciutto pizza and Caesar salad, which were both superb. Our favorite part was that we could see the chef making the dishes with care and ensuring everything goes out with flavor and is hot. We said the entire meal, how amazing this stop was on our first night!

I've been ordering food from here for a while and I can honestly say they have some amazing quality food and a menu that always leaves you satisfied. One of my constant go to's is the bursts it's always creamy delicious and served up with fresh ingredients the pears add a nice touch of crunch and sweetness. The olives and prosciutto are not overly salty and when combined with the tomatoes everything comes together for a perfect bite. I have never had any issues with missing items or incorrect products. The packaging is always spot on with no spills and still warm. The staff always make sure to include napkins and utensils which I always forget to ask for. Overall a great spot and I can't wait to try them in person!

This place is delicious... I found out the chef there worked at the top italian restos in mtl. Pizza is top notch, and my favorite pasta is the gigi. I love that it's really low key.

We came here to get our healthy food groove on. Love the Chef homemade meals here at Brauma. I feel like everything was gluten free. Great Pasta, pizzas and vegetables here. Food is tasty and has a different vibe here. This will be our go to spot whenever in town.

Great food, nice staff, cozy atmosphere... Must tries are the Lamb Chop entrée, the Sausage Cavatelli, the Pistachio Cheesecake, and the bartender's Old Fashion!

Food was average. The menu and advertising made me excited for fresh tasting Italian food it was as my all that homemade tasting and my family didn't finish their food as they said the sauce and tastes were meh.

Came here for their hyped Mortadolce. Got one to go, and the smell of parmesan was very intense to an almost nauseating degree. Had to drive with the window down. Very bold smell. One pizza is not large but one slice was more than enough for me, it's a heavy slice. The honey really gives it a nice extra something that's really nice and mellows and balances the flavors. It would be nice if they sold by the slice. Taste wise: alright, but not mind blowing and I wouldn't commit to a whole pizza again. Not bad (I wouldn't be a in closed space with a Mortadolce again though), not amazing, ultimately overwhelming.

Just ordered through Doordash not knowing anything about the place, I simply liked the menu offering for dinner at home with my family after browsing for restaurants in my area. The food delighted me, my partner and our son. Dinner was so good, every dish tasty, fresh, delightful. Best food delivery experience. My 3 years old son thanked me about 10 times and acknowledged my excellent cooking! I explained it was not me who cooled the food but he insisted. Haha. The Fettuccini sauce rose, which can easily be a boring dish was very good, the legumes saisonniers so fresh and tasty, the fries were great (I heated the oven at 400 and put them on a flat metal sheet for a few minutes to give them back their warmth and crispiness as fries never do well in delivery) and the carrot cake was splendid. I never write reviews but this time I was compelled to write one.
