We had dinner at Branca in Oxford Jericho. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere — lively but still comfortable — and the staff were friendly, though service could have been a little more attentive.
The food was good overall but not particularly memorable. The duck breast with red wine sauce had a pleasant flavor, but the sauce was much too salty, which took away from the dish. The pork belly was very good — tender, rich, and nicely balanced — and the tuna was excellent, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented.
On the downside, there were no plates provided for the bread, which was a small but noticeable miss. On the positive side, they did make an effort to accommodate wheat-free family members, which was appreciated.
Overall, Branca offers a pleasant dining experience with some strong dishes, but a few details kept it from being great.
