"Located in Avalon in Alpharetta, this whiskey bar and gastropub has a pretty sizable collection behind the bar which range from well-known bottles like Elijah Craig to smaller brands like Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery’s Bellemeade offerings out of Tennessee. The cocktail program focuses heavily on bourbons and whiskeys here, too." - Beth McKibben

Google
Great location, with nice seating inside and outside + a nice bar. The food is very good the Brussels sprouts and candied bacon sweet potatoes are excellent appetizers. The salmon & shrimp was a perfect entree. Also the fish sandwich with bacon added hit the spot!

Stopped in just for a pint and was impressed with the selection and the general atmosphere. Odd time of day so service wasn’t that great and fast, but everyone was nice. They have a number of rotating local beers and a pretty good whiskey selection. Recommend if you’re into the classy dark mahogany type of bar experience.

Google
Great location and great food! The only issue was it was cold in the limited seating area and we were told that the heater was out for over two weeks now. But the food was great.

Google
The service was ok but it took a long time for refills and to get our check. The part of the meal that was the worst was the food. My chicken sandwich didn't have much taste besides the overwhelming dijonaise taste and hardly any peach, jalapeño or cheddar flavor. The bacon was the only redeeming part of the sandwich. The BLT salad for $11 was pitiful too. You got maybe a teaspoon of bacon and cheese and a few onions and tomatoes. It was not worth it. My husband's meal was the worst. He got the special which was scallops that was supposed to come with fingerling potatoes, spinach and leeks described as hash. When they presented his meal it was such a pitiful portion I thought they gave him an appetizer portion instead. The tiny scallops were one thing but to include maybe three fingerling potatoes and one piece of spinach for $30 is ridiculous. There are so many other restaurants in Avalon, downtown Alpharetta, Halcyon and Roswell serving much better food. We will not be going back.

Omg you have to try this place! Went here for lunch today and the host was super sweet. Our server Vicki was very kind and amazing in making sure we were taken care of and had everything we needed. The bartender made amazing drinks! Delicious! I recommend the candied jalapeño bacon fries, the maple glazed salmon, and the hot girl summer and the ain’t that a peach drink! 10/10

Google
Overall great experience here. The dining room was fairly small but we immediately got a table during the "Sunday lunch rush". Angel greeted us and was in charge of our table for the entirety of the meal. It appeared they have quite the bar with many bourbons to try if that is your thing. The food was really good - lots of flavor and was noticeably fresh. The house made ketchup is AMAZING. It is a perfect blend of whatever secrets are within, a bit of a spiciness to it. (Would literally come back to just get a basket of fries and that ketchup.) The food did seem to take a while to actually come out though which is the reason for the four star. It didn't seem overly busy, but did take longer than maybe expected. (If it's because they were making the ketchup I will allow it because again WOW. Seriously - get the ketchup)

Google
Nice location off the beaten path. I had the fish fries and my daughter had the pimento cheese deviled eggs with bacon bites for an appetizers. The fish fries were good. My daughter thought it was too much cheese in the deviled eggs, but she liked the taste. I had the Honey Glazed Center Cut Pork Loin cut w/creamy corn & collard greens and my daughter had the Salmon Salad. The pork loin was seasoned good. Great food!!! Good service. No military discount. Overall, good experience.

Google
Fabulous experience from start to finish. My wife had the porkchop with creamed corn/ collards and was wonderful! I had the braised brisket over cheese grits and green beans with red peppers and it was incredibly tender and great portions. Son had a burger and it was a hand made patty slightly charred and so tender it fell apart in your mouth. The bartender was our waiter and I wish I could remember his name but he was working on 5/26 during dinner hours for an in house shout out. His recommendations were spot on! All around a perfect 10 experience!!! We will certainly be back to try the other items we thought looked great on the menu.

Yelp
Came here twice within the past few months and enjoyed my experience! Service is great and the waitresses are always on top of refills and checking in to make sure everything tastes good. Food is 10/10 no matter what you get! Love their apps and tapas. Would recommend jalapeño poppers, fried chicken and pickles, sweet potato fries, and Brussel sprouts! Whatever you get, ASK FOR THE AIOLI SAUCE. It's the best thing I've ever tasted. I'd go back just to get a side of sweet potato fries and the aioli xD Always clean and ready to take customers! Seats inside and out are by choice. Love it here!

Yelp
***FOOD: it's Ok for American diner/pub food MUSHROOM SOUP - definitely the winner here; SCALLOPS - were burnt, too much potatoes and spinach tasted like nothing; PORK CHOP- tough to eaT; BURGER & FRIES - dry burger ***DÉCOR: looks like a pirate themed saloon on outside. Got the table right in front of the door so every time someone came in or out we felt the cold wind. ***SERVICE: not memorable probably because they came and took our order, dropped off the food and that was it. Didn't even come around to refill our water. ***RECOMMEND: I have definitely had better and there are other options at the Avalon for food.

Yelp
We were at AVALON for our grandson's Junior Prom, we had diner with his mom and our other grandson. Wonderful night so we sat outside on the open patio and enjoyed a very great meal. Our grandson had the Caesar Salad with Ranch Dressing and loved it. My DIL had the Herb grill Chicken and Strawberry Romaine Salad, also great reviews on the salad from her. My wife had them Honey Bourbon glazed Center Cut pork Chop with Cream corn and Greens. She loved the home made cream corn always better than out of the can, Chop was cooked as she liked it and very tasty. I had the Maple Glazed Salmon with Shrimp, with Red Potatoes and vegetable medley. Salmon was cook to perfection, Shrimp was spot on also. Potatoes could have been cut up a little smaller, vegetables were cooked well. Our server did a great job making sure everything was taken care of and that we were enjoying our meals. She did a very professional job. Branch and Barrel keep up the great work, compliments to the chef and his staff.

Yelp
If you're looking for the big three - great food, great bourbon, and great people - this is the place. Andre (the bartender) and Maria (one of the waitresses) went above and beyond the call of duty to provide a wonderful experience, and the food was top notch. Some may call the restaurant small, but I prefer to think of it as the right size to make sure no customer feels left out of the family. I love places that care, and you can tell right away that everyone - from the host to the kitchen - wanted to make sure everything was perfect.

Yelp
I came here for dinner with my family. Parking at Avalon is usually fine, just takes some hunting. I recommend parking in the deck/lot on the Whole Foods side. We were seated immediately when we arrived and got a spot on their heated patio which was nice. We ordered a few drinks and as a bourbon lover, I was a BIG fan of all the options they had available! I had an Espresso Manhattan which was pretty good and a fun twist on a Manhattan. My dad had a Smokin in the Cab which was so delicious and smoky. My mom had the Branch Berry which was probably my overall favorite. For appetizers, we got the broiled goat cheese which was so delicious and I adored the jalapeno peach chutney we got with it. For dinner, we tried a few things including the fried grouper, chicken sandwich, farmhouse burger, and I subbed a regular patty on their Impossible burger which came with goat cheese, smoked tomato jam, & arugula. My burger was super delicious, and everyone else enjoyed their meals too! Overall, really solid spot in Avalon to check out!

Yelp
Park in the parking deck- it's free! Reservations are a most! Food is 6/10- just was not impressed for the prices paid. Alcoholic beverages were fresh, wine selection was decent. Probably won't be back, but a nice one time stop.

Margaret H.

Yelp
The burger was delicious. The margarita was so refreshing! I really enjoyed everything.

Christian E.

Yelp
The chairs outside are small & it was cold inside, which wasn't ideal when it was so lovely out, but my husband is a tall, bigger guy, so he didn't like the outside chairs. The server was excellent at recommending drinks I'd like and leaving out ingredients I don't like. The drinks were good; the fish fries were small, but fresh and mild and came out fast with delicious garlic aioli sauce. We only had a drink & appetizer, but we will be back! All of the food looked so good.

Paige B.

Yelp
I felt like I was back in London when I walked in. The bourbon selection was wonderful and I tried a new one- the bartender was so knowledgeable that I'm betting he could tell me the family tree of its original owners! I love this place. It's quiet and honors the bourbon- my kind of place.

Lashundra H.

Yelp
I ate the scallops dish it was delightful the scallops was seared to perfection and the spinach and potatoes were and added bonus I enjoyed the meal and our service was great from Maria. I would definitely recommend. We sate inside very nicely appointed kind of dark perfect for date night.

Yelp
I was here earlier today with a friend and our experience was not great. To be quite honest that seems to be a trend at Avalon restaurants in my opinion- they don't try as hard since they have guaranteed foot traffic regardless of whether or not they have positive reviews or word of mouth. This is perfectly encapsulated by the fact that a less than 4 stars avg business still had a lot of patrons at 1:30 in the afternoon. But I digress. We had to wait a long time here for basically everything (except for being seated.) Our meal ended up taking such a long time. It took our server a solid 10-15 mins to even approach our table to begin with. Drinks took a while to come out. Also, this place has no non-alcoholic drink options. Seriously? My friend and I didn't feel like drinking and wanted something other than water- we had to settle for mocktails. Looks like they don't serve dessert either. Menu needs work. Took a while for the food to come out and then took absolutely forever (!!!) for the check to come out. We had finished eating and were sitting there waiting because I was itching to leave and actually get dessert somewhere. We waited at least 20 minutes I'm assuming before I got up and found the host and asked him if I could get our checks (since I didn't see the server anywhere.) Mind you before I decided to get up, I tried to make eye contact with the server when I did see her. It didn't work, she was chatting with coworkers instead. Made me pretty mad... because umm hello I'm stuck here as a hostage until you let me pay so I can leave. I've never really had that issue before. Usually they're trying to get you out so they can make more on tips. I guess not today. Food was ok. Fries were alright, could use more flavor/seasoning. Burger was decent. Drinks were good. If I were this business- I'd work on improving customer service prontoooo and the menu options. Plus try adding more flavor to the food- very common finding in these reviews. If I were a person thinking of coming here to eat- I would go elsewhere. Matter of fact, go somewhere outside of the Avalon, where there's actual parking available and restaurants that make an effort. There's much better quality to be found elsewhere.

Yelp
Parking You are lucky to get street parking so we ended up valet parking. Cost $15. About a block walk. Restaurant Branch and Barrel is a small restaurant. Dark decor, more of a bar atmosphere. We were seated at a 2 topper next to the door. Our waitress, forgot her name, was not rude, but was not the friendliest. We ordered the salt and vinegar fried Brussel Sprouts. I enjoyed them being fried, however, there was no taste of vinegar, but a salty taste. I ordered the Farmhouse Burger. I ordered the burger medium but it was well done, the egg was cooked perfectly and the fries were salty. A red sauce was served with the burger but had an unpleasant taste to me. I did ask for ketchup. The bread on the burger was the best. My spouse ordered the Scallop meal. We believe the chef dumped the salt on the entire plate. Enough said about that. The manager was nice and did ask if my spouse wanted anything else on the menu. We declined. This restaurant is not a do over for me. Health score 90.

Courtney L.

Yelp
The tiniest portion of scallops I have ever seen for a chef's special entree for $30. The side of three potatoes and a piece of spinach was crazy. My husband left starving. My chicken sandwich was tasteless besides the overpowering taste of dijonnaise instead of the bacon, cheese and mango in the description. Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere in Avalon, downtown Alpharetta or Firebirds across the street. Their BLT salad was so much better than this one. Sadly we won't be back since their are so many other choices where you get the portion you pay for and food that tastes good.

Kevin F.

Yelp
Great little spot in Avalon. A lot of tasty menu items and solid selection of bourbon and other libations. Small place overall, so recommend res. Staff is friendly and overall a cozy vibe

Yelp
I will write this review as a composite score of 3 visits in the last 6 months. If there was a numerical scale, then it would be a 3.7. But I rounded up to 4 stars. Branch and Barrel is one of those restaurants that is very competent. They don't have a lot of shortfalls, and they don't have a lot of superlatives. They have a steady track record of good performance. They are IBM - respected, steady, will never regret eating there, but you won't really remember it either. Maybe that's a little harsh as it might seem that I am downing them a bit for being good, but I hope rather, that it is read as I am urging them to find great. It's a dark place - brown on brown on brown. It's not a pub, it's not stylish, it's competent - and brown. Everyone who works here is nice - friendly, service oriented and welcoming. There are not a lot of them, but it's a small place....you are greeted warmly and serviced well The menu - eh - it's OK - the farm to table basics, a pork chop, a fish, shrimp and grits....sandwiches, burgers.....some OK appetizers.....We tried the Brussels- salty, the deviled eggs- pretty good, They have a $10 old fashioned which is really good. Cocktails look great, beer list is great, wine list is so-so....but not a lot of wine drinkers here.... Over a few visits, had the pork chop, salmon salad, burger and fries......I would say the salad and burger stood out - everything is hot, fresh and price points are reasonable. They had a Waldorf salad that was spectacular but that is now either gone, or they don't have the ingredients... We will likely be back, because overall, they are capable and very decent...will leave it there.

Yelp
We had a great time tonight here!! We sat at the bar and Erin took great care of us. She is very sweet and funny and I loved her margarita of the night, which was a lemon-ginger-honey concoction! (Of course this was after my first drink of a cold brew espresso martini!) We had the Jalapeño candied bacon and sweet potato fries for an appetizer. So delicious...we ate every bite. We also had the maple glazed salmon and the corn dusted lobster tail sandwich. Both were perfect. We were stuffed at the end! It's a great bar and everyone seemed very nice. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area!!

Liv J.

Yelp
We made reservations to dine here on the weekend. The main door getting in is amazing. Getting in we find out that the seating is limited. The hostess was incredible, we got seated and we were greeted right away by Hanna. We ordered the peach martini. Oh amazing. Then I ordered a mojito, it was not my favorite. We had the salmon dip appetizer, it was good but a mess to eat. Then we had the glazed salmon (we didn't know it came with shrimp) so they quickly got a new salmon without it. Thank you kitchen staff. It was a great experience, next time we will sit on the patio.

Yelp
This choice is at the Avalon near postman books and across from superica. I would say park in either parking garage near Whole Foods or on the other side near Colleta's. We were seated outside as it was a gorgeous day out. Entrées Hanger steak sweet potato fries and brussel sprouts 22.99 B&B burger also w/ sweet potato fries 14.99 Apple Bourbon baby back ribs with sweet potato fries and coleslaw 18.99 Note the fries come with a maple aioli that is divine! Get the aioli! Libations Sunset on Bourbon 11 The meal all around was delicious. We loved the maple aioli that came with the fries. I mean insanely good. The brussel sprout apparently are very popular and I can see why, they are salt and vinegar flavored and fried perfectly for a crunch on the outside and soft on the inside! In regards to the ribs - tender and great flavor. In regards to the burger - it was well prepared and juicy. Cost wise The price isn't bad came out under $50 with tip. Overall out of 5

Yelp
We had reservations and got there a few minutes early. We were seated promptly and had enough time to look over the menu. There were a few good options. Our server was Melissa. She was pleasant and told us the specials of the day. When she heard us comment about the wobbly table we were seated at, she quickly went into action and fixed it. We ordered the chicken poppers for the appetizer. They came out quickly but were extremely salty. For dinner, I ordered the Grilled Salmon salad and my fiancé ordered the fish of the day which was the mahi-mahi. The experience overall was good. (The 4-stars is due the extremely salty appetizer that was almost inedible)

Jacob L.

Yelp
Came in on a Sunday, the location was great, right next to an Avalon parking lot. The restaurant was pretty empty when we were there, we asked to sit outside to enjoy the outdoor elements of Avalon but the covered patio was a bit eerie: no music and only one other couple out there, so we were just listening to the guy smacking his lips as he ate. Our server was okay, seemed kind of short with us but I think thats probably just because she was frustrated with how slow it was that day, which I understand. She pitched us on the margarita of the day, which was Mango Peach. We ordered 2 and I'm pretty sure it was just a normal margarita with a splash of peach liqueur in there. Tasted fine, but if you had just told me it was a regular margarita I would've believed you. The food is the real reason I decided to leave a review. My partner and I really enjoyed the appetizers we got, Jalapeno Candied Bacon Sweet Potato Fries (pretty good) and Salt & Vinegar Brussel Sprouts(I didn't really taste any vinegar, but I love brussels so its fine). We both ordered the scallops, a 29 dollar entree. They were a huge letdown, everything was oily and bland. The menu said it had bacon & leek, and I think my plate had maybe one crumb of bacon, I don't think there was any leeks at all. The scallops had less flavor than the potatoes, and the spinach was covered in oil. Me and my partner are super lax when it comes to restaurants as we work in one as well and we know what all goes into a single table's experience, and I have to imagine that this place is better on busier nights or maybe they had people out sick and were struggling to keep things consistent, but that was my least favorite dining experience I've had in years. Major letdown, especially our entrees, which I feel like I could've made at home and done a much better job. Super disappointing experience.

Tristine N.

Yelp
Service was ok. Food was really salty and expensive for the quality. We took Monday off to visit the Avalon. It's a week day and parking was not as difficult as weekend. We went in around 2:00 pm. The host that took us to our table doesn't seem happy, but more neutral and meh. Our waiter was ok, nothing abnormal or amazing regarding services. Salt and Vinegar Brussel Sprouts: it was great the first few bites. Tasted like chips and savory. Then it gets very salty. We couldn't eat anymore than a few bites. Souther Fried Catfish: The outer batter was extremely salty. Had to separate the meat and outer batter for it to be edible. It came with rice, which was crispy and some parts were hard. The red beans was great though. Grilled Salmon Salad: Salmon was good, but small. Salad was salad. It came with goat cheese and I forgot to mention about taking it out. The dish costed almost $20. For the price, I was expecting the flavor or some ingredients to make this tasted above average to justify the price.

Yelp
Just moved to the area, thought I would try this restaurant. If you're a FAT person and like greasy, fattening food, this is the perfect place! There are no healthy options. The restaurant is under staff, the service is really slooow. Will definitely not eat here again. Out of the 5 restaurants I tried in Avalon so far, Oak-Rumi's-Colletta-True Food- Superica, this restaurant doesn't even deserve making a distant last list.

Jessica D.

Yelp
The portions of food were generous, but the taste and quality was underwhelming. I did like the crispy Brussel sprouts- especially with their honey mustard, but we didn't enjoy the rest of our items. The brisket was tender, but the collard greens filled the entire dish with water- the dish as a whole was very bland. The grouper had way too much corn flour batter and the pimento cheese on the burger was too overpowering. I'd recommend eating elsewhere at the Avalon.

Steve B.

Yelp
My wife and I have been to Branch and Barrel frequently over the years since it has opened. What kept us coming back was the friendly bar staff and creativity of the cocktails. The food was always good and the menu changed up from time to time. We enjoyed sitting at the bar and talking to Sam the bar manager who even provided my wife with her recipe for their Old Fashion! Since Sam has left, we have definitely noticed the vibe has changed and not for the better. Last night we tried again. It was a Friday night around 6:00pm and the place was pretty empty; not a good sign. We sat at the bar and watched the bar staff busily creating drinks, heads down, barely an acknowledgement of our presence. We got their attention and ordered a couple glasses of wine. Both wines tasted flat as if the bottle had been opened and on the shelf for a while. We complained and the staff happily opened a new bottle; problem solved. 2 other customers came in and sat at the bar. After a period of time they walked out as the bar staff had not asked to take their order. They complained to the manager as they left. We finally got the attention of our bartender so we could order some dinner. The food came out promptly and was well prepared as had been our experience in the past. We select restaurants not just on food quality but also the atmosphere and service; the soul of the place. Branch and Barrel seems to have lost their way as they used to focus on being a bourbon and whisky specialty restaurant. As we looked across the bar at the bottles, they seemed to be collecting dust. We likely won't go back any time soon as their are so many other options in the area. We truly hope this restaurant can find its way back and be successful.

Damian D.

Yelp
I mean this with no exaggeration.. the B&B burger is the best burger I've ever had in my life. Me and my partner drive over an hour just for the burger. The appetizers are quite delicious as well. But the burger is the star of the show. The service is excellent with a very nice and welcoming staff. One time they were closed for an event but still offered to make us food which made our day! The inside tavern is very nice with a lagoon style ambiance.

Brett J.

Yelp
I'm not sure that I can say enough about this location! I'll start by saying that this location is OHHHHHHH MY GODDIE TO GOSH DARN HOTTIE!!! Why in the world does this spot only show 3.5 stars?!? Are you all nuts?!? We came here when we first came to town due to being one of the few places we could get a reservation in. It looks cool from the outside. Big oak doors, brick front, outside eating area... it looked good! Then when you get inside it looks even better. Like a warm comforting hug of class. The inside is dark woods, rocks, and sophistication without being full of its self. The have a bourbon club, specialty cocktails, craft beers, and a menu that is as special as the location! We liked it so much we came back and ate a second time a few days later! I'm telling you this is a 5 star location with 9 star food! We started with some salt and vinegar Brussel sprouts and their jalapeño candied bacon sweet potato fries with maple aole. I'm not sure how many times I'll say it in this review but they were Ohhh my Goddie too hottie good! The Brussels we crispy and savory with a simple flavor that was complex in its greatness! The salty goodness just washes over you tastebuds and makes your brain sing! The sweet potato fries were a fantastic blend of sweet, slight heat, and salty that even my sons liked! They are deliciously crafted down to the last bite. We were off to an amazing start! I ordered the crispy pork shoulder with jalapeño cream corn, green beans and corn bread. One bite and I was transported to food nirvana! Ohhhh my Goddie this Food is toooooo HOTTIE! The tender pork was seared to a crisp perfection seasoned with artistic greatness and served with love. It was a true CHEFS dish. The jalapeño cream corn was so good I wish I had had a soup bowls worth to eat! Heat but sweet was the name of the game. I just loved every thing about this dish... the presentation, the artistic flair of how it was made, and the unbelievable flavors. I highly recommend this dish! For my cocktail I had the old fashion. Small in quantity but large in flavor perfection this is one of the best cocktails I have ever had. It was crafted by the hand of an artist to say the very least. Our server was warm , friendly and even joked with my boys. He was attentive but not over bearing. Truly the right blend of nice, business, and friendly. There was not a thing that we didn't like about our visit! In fact we liked it so much we came back again for another 5+ star dinner! It was truly an amazing experience! Be looking for my next review to hear what other world class dishes we had on our second visit.

Tracey Middlebrooks R.

Yelp
Keep coming back for the southern salad, it's amazing! Their menu is so great, so many great choices! Great service as well

John H.

Yelp
The service was friendly and efficient without feeling rushed. The salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavors of the vegetables complemented the salmon exquisitely. They have a signature drink menu and the Manhattan was also prepared to perfection. If you're looking for a low key dining experience with indoor and outdoor dining options where you can also have an expertly prepared cocktail, then I'd recommend giving them a try.

Anika A.

Yelp
I stopped by Branch and Barrel yesterday for a later dinner. The restaurant is very cozy and dimly lit which gave a nice vibe. I ordered the beef ribs which came with sweet potato fries and I substituted the coleslaw for brussel sprouts. There portions were amazing. I was so full off my meal and had plenty to take home with me. My friend has raved about how great the brussel sprouts were which I did enjoy them. They did taste a little too salty to me (which I love savory, salty foods) so that would probably be my only critique. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here & would love to come back again during their speakeasy night (first Friday of the month).

Abi A.

Yelp
Wasn't too keen on the service. The waiter acted like he was being bothered Food was good! Thoroughly enjoyed the creamed corn Clean and cute interior too

Dan D.

Yelp
Absolutely worth your time to try out. Branch and Barrel is a pretty legit spot, although their inside dining options are limited. We wound up eating outside. There are heat lamps but they're stationed close enough to the tables that trying to get past them was an adventure. I got chicken and fried pickles, deviled eggs w/bacon, and fried chicken w/risotto and collard greens. All of the food was quite good. The fried chicken was a smallish portion, but i wouldn't call it stingy. The quality compensated nicely. I also got a Manhattan, and it certainly lived up to its Legendary moniker. With a bit of maple flavor it really sets itself apart and might be the best Manhattan I've ever had (which says a lot, because I feel like I make a good one myself). Overall, Branch and Barrel is nice, albeit maybe lacking that one killer selling point to make you rush over. But it's a good spot to unwind after a hard day of shopping.

Yelp
Fish Fries- Corn Dusted Grouper Fried Crispy & Served with Lemon Aioli. I love it! 10/10

Jesse M.

Yelp
Mall food. I had a brisket, Mac & cheese, green bean dish and it was basic. Could've made all three at home and piled them on a plate - nothing gourmet or extra about it. There's a craft beer selection, but it's all poor quality. Felt like a Disney experience - decorations to fit the theme of the restaurant, with average food. Service was good.

Tanya J.

Yelp
I tried their Ancho grilled fish sandwich, which was seasoned nicely and I liked the slaw and avocado on it. The sweet potato fries were tasty and much thicker looking than the regular fries and were nicely salted. The sweet tea was good too. There's not much to the inside of this restaurant. It's a lot smaller than I thought it was, but there's some outside seating. I would come back for a $20 work lunch, but not a date night.

Brian D.

Yelp
Very happy with the visit to Branch and Barrel. Ordered the jalapeño poppers, the southern salad, fries, and bbq grilled salmon. Poppers were a really good app with chicken, bacon, cheddar, and ranch sour cream. The bbq salmon had cheddar mashed potatoes and vegetable of the day which was like a medley. The southern salad was bomb. Pickles were super crisp, chicken was fried nicely, and a really good serrano honey mustard. Also had a drink called smokin in the cab. It had SBH Riverset Single Barrel Rye + Burnt Orange Syrup + Lemon + Dash of Honey + Cabernet Float + Cherrywood Smoked. Totally recommend. Actually looking forward to my next trip.

Yelp
This place is super cute! They have inside and outside seating available. They have a "heater" as well for the chilly days. The greeter was sweet and our waitress was super cool. This place issa whole vibe! Pulled pretzel bites: Comes in a small cast iron skillet. Wasn't sure what to expect but this wasn't it. Not necessarily in a bad way though. First bite, I immediately tasted salt. The pretzels themselves had the chunky salt pieces on them. Then it's topped with a cheese sauce and chive and sour cream sauce. All of the pieces were very well flavored but combined it was a bit spicy. Good but I wouldn't order it again. The bestie and I decided to split whatever we ordered. She ordered the fried lobster sandwich and I got a burger. Corn Fried Lobster Sandwich: Comes with smoked tomato tartar & coleslaw. I LOVE this sandwich! The crispness of the sandwich was so good!! Loved how the coleslaw added a crunch and the jalapeños added an extra level of greatness too! I seriously thought about ordering a second one to go! B & B Burger: Comes with Barrel Smoked Gouda, Bacon Onion Marmalade & Arugula. This burger was banging!! The waitress didn't ask the temperature that I wanted and I forgot to tell her. But it came out medium, almost medium rare which was perfect!! It was so tender, juicy and flavorful! The bacon onion marmalade was soo good, I could have used a little more of it! Even the bun was tasty, regular and black sesame seeds. There were a few bites of it that tasted buttered and toasted. Yum!! Burger was served with fries. Nothing special but they were good. Not sure what the condiment was but it was ketchup based with maybe some vinegar? Salt & Vinegar Brussels Sprouts. The name sold me! Perfectly cooked. They had major crisp factor and were tender. They could have used a little more seasoning. I had salt and vinegar chips in my head so I was expecting bold flavor like that. Because it was a side dish for me I loved it! Can't wait to come back!!

Yelp
First visit here, to celebrate our third year of being georgia residents. High quality service, excellent food and desserts. Drinks are amazing.

Yelp
I think I found a new spot for the days I want to get out of the city. The drink menu is top tier. I highly recommend you check it out even if it's just for drinks at the bar. The service was slow from our waitress but the other waitresses were very helpful.

Yelp
Very glad we took a chance on this place! We initially put our name down on the waitlist for another restaurant and then started walking around while we waited when we came across this place. They had the small outdoor seating area which was covered (it was mid August in Atlanta so this was perfect) and the food smelled great so it was intriguing. After a quick google search of the menu we decided to check it our and was seated immediately. They made sure we were comfortable with our seating arrangements and our server was very attentive and friendly. Also everyone was wearing a mask so kudos to them for the covid precautions. After a toss up and some assistance from the waiter I ordered the beef brisket with the jalapeno mac and cheese and seasonal veggies. It was delicious! Everything in the bowl mixed well with one another. Whatever was in that seasonal veggie medley mix was perfection. I forget was the bf ordered because i was very much into my own meal lol. Overall i would def recommend stopping in to try this place out. If the weather permits i would choose sitting outdoors although the inside looks very nice as well it was just a little tight space wise.

Yelp
We love Branch and Barrel but last night was not great. My husband got the pork chop. Way undercooked and I got the steak. It came out cold. The waitress was very cool. Didn't say sorry. Was very blah. We will be back, as it is one of our favorite places, but last night was very disappointing.

Yelp
Atmosphere is dark, service was good. I wouldn't rush back as food didn't have that "wow" factor. Parking can be challenging at Avalon.

Yelp
Great selection of bourbon. Had a great time at the outdoor dining. The grouper fingers were excellent. I'll have to try some entrees next time.

Yelp
I have been to pretty much every restaurant in Avalon but this one just didn't stand out to me. I finally tried it out and wasn't very impressed. The beef brisket was served with mac and cheese and greens and the sauce on the brisket was simply unappealing. The price was pretty steep as well. My friend, however, enjoyed her burger.

Yelp
Definitely has cool, speak-easy type of vibe happening here. Great for an indoor/outdoor lunch date or perhaps just a great place to have a few cocktails at the bar. The burgers are amazing and so are the sweet potato fries. The drinks are creatively crafted and the beer selection is nice as well. We had a few minor hiccups such as the regular fries being to greasy and the bacon on my Pimento cheese sandwich looked alive. The manager was very accommodating and removed our drinks from our tab. Customer Service is A+ from the hostess to the bartender. So what are you waiting for? Go ahead and try this place out . :)

Yelp
Where to start. We had a 6:00 reservation on a Saturday night. I walked in and told the host that our party was parking and he was very okay with that. While I was waiting for the other two parties my husband walked in and waited at the hostess stand. Two other people came in after him and the host came up to the stand and completely ignored my husband and immediately greeted the two people behind him who did not have reservations. They were very sweet and said hey he was here before us. That's where it started. Our waitress was so super sweet she was wonderful and the food was great! We finished with dinner and then the four of us ordered four coffees and four Bailey's. The manager Melissa then proceeded to come up to us while we are waiting for our drinks and asked if we could move so a party of eight who had a reservation as well could sit. She said that they could put us either outside with heaters or the first table in front of the doors and it's pretty cold out. Never did they say hey For your inconvenience we will get your coffees and Bailey's and when we proceeded to say that we were not interested in that she was absolutely rude. Then the table that was next to us finally got up they were able to accommodate the party of eight and the party of eight table sat down and glared at us the entire time. We spent over $300 and again our server was so very sweet but we were made to feel so badly and it completely changed the mood of our wonderful time. Note to owners your manager Melissa needs to be fired she was awful she rolled her eyes at us she made us feel badly for not wanting to get up while we were actively ordering and she needs to understand that we were paying customers as well.

Yelp
Lovely lunch. Outdoor seating with superb service! Ohhhh my heavens, the pimento cheese bacon burger is a MUST!! Coupled with the sweet potato fries. My husband had the beef brisket sandwich. All servings were ample

Yelp
One of my favorite places to grab a beverage. You have to try their "smoking in the cab"

Yelp
The best word to sum up this restaurant is "Amazing ". The food was fresh, hot and packed with flavor! From the Magarita of the week to the fresh perfectly cook salmon I enjoyed everything. My husband had the lobster sandwich and I wish I would have ordered that instead because of course others food always taste better then yours....LOL. I will most definitely return for more!

Yelp
We had an amazing meal but even better was the service. We ate at the bar and had Adam as our bartender/server. He was kind, patient and offered great recommendations! Will def be back.

Yelp
Branch and Barrel is an American fare craft bar and kitchen. They even have a Bourbon club. They also try to source locally whenever possible. The menu had a nice variety, and I think most people can find at least something they might like. We got sat at the best seat in the house in my opinion. Right in the back center in a booth...perfect for the four of us. I like that this place was close to our next destination, too...the Regal cinemas at the Avalon. Our waiter was really nice, but he kind of dropped the ball. I had ordered a glass of wine that never came. Finally right before our meals were coming out, my friend asked about my wine, and he did apologize, and got me the wine. Otherwise, service was good. The manager even came by the table, which was nice and shows interest in his patrons. They had this giant pretzel appetizer that I really wanted to try...it was $13.50 though. Dang! For a pretzel? I decided to get the chicken wings, and they were really good. Crispy, nicely flavored, didn't even really need sauce...and for me to say that is huge because I'm a condiment freak. I also loved that when we asked for wipes, they give you big wipes, not those little wimpy squares that are barely wet. No, these were durable, moist, and cleaned you up well! My boyfriend got the beef brisket, and he thought it was pretty good, but not great. I tried my friend's regular fries and my boyfriend's sweet potato fries, and they both were pretty good. The best thing there were the wings. Oh, those wings! Yum...But overall, a nice dinner with our friends and convenient to the theater.
