The Best Restaurants In Davie's Foodtown

"This is the most spacious restaurant in Foodtown plaza—in case you're making your culinary pilgrimage with a big group—and they have big, round tables with lazy susans. This Vietnamese spot has favorites like bowls of pho, bun, and com, but those aren’t the most exciting things on the menu. Start with a crepe, or bánh xèo, from the appetizer section—a crispy rice flour and coconut milk crepe overstuffed with bean sprouts and shrimp that’s more than one person can eat. We also love the tiny rice noodle platter, which includes little rectangular blankets of super skinny rice noodles that stick together along with up to three items of your choice (get the grilled beef and bean curd skin with shrimp). It also comes with a platter of herbs, lettuce, and bean sprouts, as well as a stack of rice paper discs to make DIY summer rolls. They take a little finesse, but ask your server to show you how and you’ll get the hang of it in no time." - carlos c olaechea

Brandon Asian Cuisine - Review - Davie - Miami - The Infatuation

"Brandon Asian Cuisine is a Vietnamese restaurant in Davie’s Carriage Hills Plaza, which also houses Foodtown, an international grocery store. While you can find Vietnamese staples like pho, bun, and com—that’s not what you want to order. Start with a crepe, or bánh xèo—a crispy rice flour and coconut milk pancake stuffed with a mountain of bean sprouts and large shrimp. We also love the DIY summer rolls, which are under the “tiny rice noodles” section of the menu. You can choose up to three toppings to pair with these little sheets of rice vermicelli, and we go for the grilled beef, shrimp paste grilled on sugar cane, and shrimp paste sandwiched between sheets of crispy fried bean curd skins. Also worth considering: the pasta rolls made from steamed rice batter and topped with Vietnamese bologna, bean sprouts, veggies, herbs, and served with a side of sweet and tart nước chấm sauce. This is the most spacious restaurant in Food Town Plaza, so come with a big group and grab one of the round tables with a lazy susan." - Carlos C Olaechea

The seafood soup and their fried rice are absolutely delicious!!!! I have never had a fried rice like this it’s soft and not overly greasy at all. I could eat a large seafood soup by myself. Their sauces are delicious and the ambience of the place is very nice. Bathrooms clean and everything. I can’t wait come here again

Google
By far the best Vietnamese restaurant I have ever been too. Pho has more flavor than other places, especially the Grilled Steak Pho. I like to add veggies. Quail is a nice treat too. Wide menu with something for everyone. Good prices. Family run. Brandon is the owner’s little boy and you may see him when you go. Enjoy!

I cannot say enough positive things about this restaurant I have been coming here for years and the quality has continued to grow better with time The atmosphere is nice quiet and the people are so friendly You can tell they are a family The food is unbelievable fresh and made to order I have never had anything bad from this restaurant and I am so blown The way they can continue to offer amazing quality for amazing prices especially with everything else going up or other staple restaurants closing I pray that this restaurant continues to stay for the next year to come if you want amazing Asian cuisine this is my go-to I used to gatekeep it but finding out that one of my other favorites mama tofu recently closed and has another restaurant taking its space hurt my heart guys continue to support this restaurant if you haven't tried it tried it and if you go here frequently and go more 10 stars

If you’re stuck between going here, and the other pho place in this plaza, COME HERE! My boyfriend and I come here to eat at least once a week, and it’s always a delight. You can’t beat the prices, taste, and atmosphere. Super good pho, and friendly staff.

Google
First time here and I have to say I'm highly impressed the Pho was delicious and the portions are super generous I would highly recommend coming and trying and the pricing is great. So much food the value is great definitely definitely coming back

Google
It has a wide variety of options for you. I’m impressed. I went to a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in town as I’m Vietnamese but I do not see anywhere else offers this wide range. The quality of the food is ok and the service is quite bad because this is just a family run business. But overall, I still give them 5 stars for the food. It’s not impressive but it’s decent.

Google
Most of the time I just order take out but I can tell you that their pho is really good and their portion are generous. Their fried egg roll is also delicious. And the service is quick.

Google
Best Pho around and service is good. We order also a couple of appetizers which was delicious. The server didnt speak English but that wasnt a problem, he was respectful and personable.

Yelp
They're in the same plaza as pho79 and 20times better than them!! The broth is frickin perfect! Tastes like they got grandma back there! And the options on what kind of pho you want are phenomenal !! Love this place! Frequent flyer atleast 3times a week!

Yelp
My dining experience today was incredibly disappointing. We started with two appetizers and a Thai-style hot pot, and while the food seemed fine at first, the night quickly took a horrible turn. Halfway through our meal, a roach crawled onto our table. I was horrified, and when I tried to shoo it away, it actually jumped onto my leg, which was completely disgusting. I lost my appetite right then. We couldn't continue eating and left more than half of our food untouched. When we asked for the check, we told the lady who served us (possibly the owner) about the roach. Shockingly, she just smiled and walked away without a word of apology or concern. To make matters worse, my stomach felt unsettled for the rest of the night. The lack of cleanliness and the poor response to the situation were unacceptable. I definitely won't be coming back.

Yelp
My husband has been coming here since he was younger with his dad so this was a nostalgic visit for him. To say the least- he told me it was still the delicious flavored food just as he remembered. The food came out super quick and everything was fresh. He got the combination pho which came with a variety of meats including tripe, meatball and beef joint. I got the broken rice platter with grilled beef and WOW. The flavors were just exploding in my mouth and everything was perfectly seasoned and it tasted authentic. I was definitely happy and full after my meal (the portions are huge)... We will definitely be returning back here!

Yelp
Came in to this location for the first time on a Saturday evening for pick up. Now I wanted pho and this plaza has about 4-5 different restaurants that offers it, however I've never tried this specific restaurant so I decided to get some from here. Also did notice that the prices are also lower than their competitors and the portions are huge. Service was ok as I only pick up to go. This location is more of a sit down restaurant compared to the other places in this plaza so that was nice. We order the Pho combo 20 which is a Combination Beef Noodle Soup with Meat Ball, Eye Round Steak, Beef Tripe, Brisket & Tendon. The pho was pretty good the broth was nice and light . We also had the Rice Platter with Grilled Pork Chop, Shredded Pork Skin, Pork Egg Custard & Fried Egg. The pork shop was good , but everything else needed more flavor so sauces are a most. We also had the pork spring roll (couldn't remember the actual name) they were so good with the sauce. Overall everything was good. And I would try again.

Yelp
My family of 5 came here after the longest day ever of flying from SFO to FLL, and waiting in a long line to check into our hotel, and then our Lyft driver getting lost on the way here. We were so famished I already knew what basics I wanted we ordered the moment we sat down. I don't know if they thought we were rude because we rushed them so much but everything came out pretty quickly especially the caramelized fish (usually it comes out later or there is a warning about it) for the amount of work I know it takes. We ordered spring rolls, bun thit nuong, fried rice, pho, and claypot fish. Everything. Was. So. Good. Looking back, this was the most painful (as we were so hungry) but also best meal of our week cruising in the Caribbean. It's difficult to admit because the cruise was quite expensive, and some of the stops were also beautiful, but having not been on a cruise since 2018, I assume things just changed/decreased since Covid challenges. Next time we might just stick around Florida and come eat food that's actually good with quick and smooth service, like Brandon's!

Yelp
The boba was delicious! The person at the front desk wasn't very friendly. The ramen was ok, nothing to brag about and expensive. I would only go back for the brown sugar boba.
google avatar

Felicia R.

Yelp
The spring roll was nice and fresh and had the perfect mint inside. It was a good size spring roll and had a peanut sauce to dunk. The shrimp fried rice was fresh too. I called my order in for pick up on Sunday evening and it was ready in about 15 minutes, the amount of time it took me to leave the house, perfect!

Sara L.

Yelp
I had the #41 Vermicelli Bowl with Grilled Beef, Shrimp & Fried Egg Roll. The portion was huge, though I finished every bite! The presentation made the food look absolutely delicious, and it was! The beef was delicately seasoned and the fried egg roll was fresh and yummy! Even the shredded carrots were slightly sweet and very tasty. Will definitely come here again!

Yelp
If you're looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine beyond just pho and banh mi, this is the place for you. It's a simple mom & pop restaurant so if you are looking for white glove service, go somewhere else. Fresh and delicious, highly recommend!

Yelp
H -ightlight: No more lunch specials but still have inexpensive menu items compared to their competitors. Pho is 11$ for a large while competitors have it for 15$ ++ E -ats: pho dat biec- combination pho. Love the fresh clean broth filled with meats. Their egg rolls are still my favorite but today the lettuce did not look as pleasing A -mbiance: the place is holding its own. Some booths are a bit cracked but overall the look makes it like a hidden gem type of vibe. R -ating: 4/5 T -ips: can still technically get a lunch special with a mate but anytime during the day. Order two small pho and an order of egg rolls that comes with two S -ervice: always a1 service. David is the man!!

Yelp
We come here at least once a week. The food is awesome and consistent. We love the kitchen staff; the owner always remembers our last order and special requests without asking. If you're a vegan, they have plenty of tofu options.

Yelp
Definitely competition for my top Vietnamese / pho spot in Broward! Amazing Vietnamese food that seems family owned. Great humble service. Fast, delicious, fresh and great prices (sure there's trendier spots but the quality and quantity of food is incomparable to Brandon!! ) I've been here 2-3 times now as a recommendation from a Vietnamese native and has not disappointed! Food: - Pho is A1. - Chicken wings hot and crispy. - Spring rolls - fresh filling one of my faves ( I always ask for an order of spring rolls at every Vietnamese restaurant. - this for sure is my favorite so far) - Rib rice platter is deliciousss - Hot Pot - although I haven't tried it they do offer it here! Other tidbits: - Great prices good food - Pretty big locale for family owned - They sell snacks/Asian products from what I can see

Yelp

We ordered 3 orders of egg rolls (comes with 2) SM grilled beef soup (it's a large portion) SM seafood soup SM chicken soup Beef fried rice Shrimp fried rice 3 Thai tea to drink Food comes out fast and always delicious. Amazing Flavor and tasted authentic. Highly recommend and the worse they treat you the better the food lol don't take offense they are straight forward and there to serve you and get you out LOVE THIS PLACE

Yelp
I don't eat this type of cuisine often, but when I do, I ensure it's authentic. Simply delicious! The food was served fast and is cheap. They always sell authentic Asian snacks

Yelp
Ordered 4 orders of Pho soup to go and when I picked up up broth was separate from all other ingredients and all separate ingredients were raw, The vegetable, the onion and even the BEEF WAS RAW. This was not soup to go this was soup to go home and cook it yourself. UNSAFE and UNPROFESSIONAL.

Lannie H.

Yelp
I am Chinese-Vietnamese and thus my high standards for Asian foods. The spicy fish sauce was not as flavorful as I would like. I had the shrimp paste Banh Hoi. The shrimp paste was a bit dry and chewy. My husband had the grilled pork rice dish. He said that the seasoning was a bit underwhelming. The service was excellent, very attentive. All of the staff were nice and helpful, very open to questions. It was a nice first try but I honestly won't be going back.

Yelp
Had dinner last night with a friend and everything was tasty. They had a lot of tables inside and the place looked clean. Our server was nice. I ordered the chicken and shrimp vermicelli noodle bowl and my friend ordered the shrimp pho. Both dishes were huge and full of flavor. We also shared the wings appetizer which comes with 6 wings cooked crispy. Honestly some of the best wings I've ever tried. The portions are big and prices are great. Will definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Yelp
We were craving Vietnamese food in the area and found this place. Inside it's an odd setup as they have a shipment of 50lbs rice packages on the floor. Talk about an inviting spot to put for diners to see. They could have stack it out of diners' sight. The menu has a wide selection of food and the lunch specials are priced very good. The big downside is the owner. Talk about rudeness. Everyone we asked him something, his relief was blunt and quick and he just walks away. We tried ordering two different razor clams and another clam dish and he yelled " we don't have any clam dishes... Period!! I swear he needs to have manners or else he'll lose customers. The food is quite good, nothing special but the flavors were solid. We order the pho lunch special with two pieces of chicken wings for $8. The pho broth is ok not bad but they're skimpy on meats. Second dish order was grilled pork with rice and third dish is a combination pork rice plate. Prices are reasonable. Big negative is the attitude of that rude owner.

Betty J.

Yelp
The owner is very friendly and the food is very good. He will cater to the needs of what we want to substitute in place of noodles for more vegetables. Very pleasant and been going there for quite a few years. Started when he owned the same restaurant in Sunrise location. Place very well kept and clean and cozy.

Yelp
This restaurant never disappoints. Menu options are very plentiful and portions are very generous. Everything is very flavorful. Prices are reasonable. The restaurant is clean and welcoming.

Nathalia A.

Yelp
I've visited a few times and I always enjoy my visit. The menu is fairly extensive with lots of good choices, the portions are very large, and the prices are very fair. There is only one person working front of the house so it can get a little hectic but overall I prefer it as I don't get interrupted as many times from a server asking if everything is okay haha

Annie R.

Yelp
Great food. Place felt homey. Would definitely come again! I recommend the #23 pho. spring rolls are the bes. best cus service . Brandon makes you feel at home.

Stefano V.

Yelp
Phenomenal food and great friendly service. This is my favorite local spot to get some Pho and the prices are very reasonable. I recommend this place to all my friends and everyone agrees that it's great.

Yelp
This place is amazing!!! Everything here is great!!! My fav meal to eat here is Pho 25 grilled beef. This really warms your tummy nothing like a savory soup after a long day.
google avatar

Malik M.

Yelp
I was regular at their location on University. When the craving hit, I had to go get my pho fix. The place is a family run business. Like their former location this hit the spot. The pricing is very reasonable and they are open till midnight. We ordered three beef brisket pho, wings and crispy fried noodles with seafood. Everything was great as usual. Definitely recommend the place.

Yelp
What a nice surprise! Hit by the EAT NOW bug while driving and had a craving for phad thai. Lucky for me, the place Yelp directed me to was closed. However the center off Sterling Road has 3 Vietnamese eating establishments. I chose Brandon, which advertises Asian Cuisine. First impression....very clean, open, social distancing practiced. Large menu, diverse crowd. Very fair pricing. I ordered Pho with chicken. The chicken was large thin slices, not overcooked, pliable and easy to pick up with chopsticks Huge bowl, piping hot, side of usual accoutrements ...bean sprouts, basil, lime, jalapeno and culantro (which I liked over cilantro you normally see). Absolutely delicious and too much for one sitting! Had for dinner as well The Thai Iced Tea was perfectly balanced. Brought menu home and my husband said it looked amazing. We will be back to try more things! Will undoubtedly change to 5 stars then!

Yelp
Conveniently located next to a large supermarket, my parents always brought the family here after a shopping trip. However, this review focuses on my most recent visit, as my previous visits have been from years ago. Upon walking in, you can tell that the restaurant is rather well kept and clean, there are rows of booths along the side, and tables across the back. We were immediately told to sit anywhere and were brought menus. As for the food, we always order a self-serve spring roll dish; the ingredients, including your choices of meat, lettuce, pickled carrots, mint, etc., are given to you on a plate, with the spring roll wraps on the side. You take the ingredients and wrap the spring roll yourself. This is by far favorite item on the menu, which costs about $12.95. If you need extra wraps, they will give them to you at no charge! In addition, I usually get their pho dac biet or bun bo hue, which isn't spicy at all. In comparison to other pho shops in the same plaza, I would say this restaurant's lacks a strong broth, but they give you a decently sized portion. My biggest concern is with the service. We had a lot of trouble getting the attention of a waiter, while a worker just sat at the front counter and wasn't of much assistance. Occasionally, our waiter wasn't able to understand our requests, and we had to wait for another worker to assist us. Overall, this restaurant is dependable, but there are cheaper and better options for Vietnamese cuisine extremely nearby.
google avatar

Yelp
If you need more viet options on the menu in Davie, come to this place! Even tho pho 79 is good, they don't not enough options for me to eat. The only thing I notice this place doesn't have is bo luc lac :( (I actually wanted to eat this) and have some tendon or tripe with just meat slices options. You can only get the tendon and triple if you get pho dac biet (combination). Before I talk about service, let me remind you that I was with a group of 18 people. Yes, they got us all sat down and got most of our waters. They were missing two people including me. We asked them many times to get us two cups but the girl kept forgetting. We did tell them to leave two water pitchers on the table and we will serve our selves. They were luckily that we just share water from someone else. All the phos and appetizers came first, the crispy noodles (mi xiao) came like 8-10 mins after. I had lunch special #2 with egg roll (which is pretty much a crispy meat spring roll) instead of the chicken wing cuz they ran out of the chicken wing. The egg roll was hot and crispy, nothing to complain there. Lunch special pho size is the small size and the regular entree size is large. So if you're hungry, get the regular one. Pho is not bad and gave good amount of meat slices and meatballs. I had some banh xeo and mi xiao from others. Banh xeo is nice and crispy. It's not even too greasy. It's exactly how you see in photo album ( I don't have a photo). Mi xiao was the same and not too fried. It was just right. You have an option to have fried crispy noodles or crispy noodles cooked together into a cake pan size. So it's not very crispy and not very soggy. Both options are not bad. I'll definitely come back here to try other dishes.

Yelp
Very authentic Asian cuisine. Soup had excellent taste! Service was very friendly. It was like eating at a family members home. Best spring rolls I have tasted in South Florida.

Yelp
Pho is a PHOnomenal Vietnamese soup made with savory hot broth, rice noodles, meats and assorted fresh herbs. We hear the broth takes many hours and a lot of effort to make and is very important part of cooking this famous Vietnamese dish. At times, we have had pho soup here and it is delicious and other times it is very salty. However, we have had similar experiences at other pho restaurants. Pho Brandon is one of our regular take out options and the dishes are an ample size. Our kids like their chicken fried rice and pho soup. They do have a kids menu that includes regular Vietnamese dishes in a smaller portion and priced around $7. We also like goi cuon (fresh summer roll with shrimp and pork and veggies), pho dac biet (pho soup with all meats) and bun dac biet (vermicelli bowl (no soup) with shrimp, pork and fried egg roll). These dishes are around $10 and a great value.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely the best Pho anywhere. Great service, great prices too. Their soup has a richer flavor than the other places. Grilled steak is very tasty too. If you like quail, it is a unique experience. Highly recommended, family owned, a great American success story.

Yelp

Yelp
Second time to this restaurant. Located in the busy FoodTown plaza so expect to park far. I enjoyed my BBH the first time I came here in the middle of the night and decided to give their pho lunch special a try before work. The inside has plenty of seating booths. I ordered the pho dac biet lunch special which comes with a side of two pieces of chicken wings but the soup bowl is smaller than a regular portion. I received my food and there was hair in my side plate of vegetables/herbs. Checked my soup and no other foreign objects were found. Flagged the waiter down and pointed it out to him. All he said was a quick sorry and replaced the plate. I suppose I expected more at least a comp or an additional side dish to show good customer service. The pho was ok and the chicken wings were fried and a little on the salty side. Hopefully they decided to implement proper hygiene and hairnets since then.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Best pho in south Florida, If you enjoy pho this place never disappoints. The lunch special comes with chicken wings are they are also great. Consistently making good food and satisfying.

Yelp
This is my new favorite asian cuisine restaurant! So many different choices in the menu makes this place a come back often type of place. Nost dishes are u der $15 and the portions are very large. Have a look at the photos and look at the amount of dishes this place serves. Service is slow, but friendly. There is plenty of parking in this side of the shopping center they are in so that is another positive. Feel like eating wonderful and delicious pho? Look no further! A large combination beef noodle soup cost about $10.50 and is filled with deliciousness: meatball, eye round steak, beef tripe, brisket and tendon. We also tried their Pan Fried Crispy Yellow Noodle and was very delicious. This comes with a combination of shrimp, beef, chicken and vegetables. The noodles are cooked just right with a bit of crunchiness. Overall, this place us great and i will be coming back here soon.

Yelp
Ate at Brandon Asian Cuisine tonight with friends. Food was good, extensive menu, but some of the worst service I have ever had at an Asian restaurant in South Florida. If the food was not decent I'd be giving this place a 1. Utterly abyssmal. Ridiculously slow, hilariously unattentive, majorly understaffed, serious language barrier. Was dead on a Saturday night at 7-8 pm when rest of the plaza was very busy. Multiple couples walked in, waited, walked out. Bubble teas took 40 minutes, required prompting multiple times, server insisted they would be ready in "five minutes" twice. Finally came when everyone finished eating. Unwanted protein swap (fish for shrimp) on a dish, had to negotiate to send it back. "Cold" sake served room temperature. Will not be returning. Extremely disappointed, expected much better of a place that is pitching itself as the best Vietnamese restaurant in Broward. Hell no.
google avatar

Yelp
Really yummy! Feeds 3-4 people so make sure to bring friends :) they don't have very many people working here it seems so service is a little bit slow but I really liked the atmosphere! Would come again.

Yelp
Everything was delicious. Good service. Everyone in our group enjoyed their food. I recommend coming here.

Yelp
There were several Vietnamese eateries in the strip mall. Parking on the weekend was challenging due to Foodtown customers. When we finally found a spot, it was closer to Brandon's, so we ventured in to try it. The only table left was towards the back. Big mistake. It was sooo hot with no fan and lack of a/c. Let's talk about the food. Lunch specials came with either an eggroll or a chicken wing. We tried the pork and rice, and seafood pho. Both were delicious. For rh he food, I would return, but the a/c need some attention, especially in this summer weather.

Yelp
I regularly come here for great Vietnamese Pho! I can't get my hands off this place! My favorite item is their BBQ pork pho and bun bo . It's OUTSTANDING with so many flavors! It's just $1 for additional noodles and well worth it. You can order sake if you'd like and come here for karaoke and it's open until late! Lunch specials are every day and worth every penny! They include either wings(2) or an egg roll for about 7 dollars! Go get yourself some pho on Pho-riday!

Yelp
Brandon is relatively new to the Foodtown plaza. The interior of the restaurant definitely shows it because the decor and furniture are all in very good condition. The restaurant is very spacious and welcoming for a nice quiet lunch. The pricing is also very reasonable for a pho. From 11am - 3pm, you can order from their lunch specials. $7.75 for a L1 combo, pho dac biet. It comes with a chicken wing or egg roll. The size of their eggroll is quite generous and not skinny like the ones at some other restaurants. The bun dac biet also has a generous portion for $10.50. I love the fact it's not mostly bean sprouts and comes with a decent portion of meat. The servers were attentive and brought out the food in a timely manner. They also poured us water before we even asked. The variety and the pricing of the menu definitely makes another visit likely when I'm in the area.

Adriana R.

Yelp
This is my go to place for Pho for myself and my family. The broth is cooked for days, all the ingredients are so fresh and they give you enough for 2 meals. I have tried several Pho places around and this place is my favorite I always get the round sirloin it never disappoints.
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
Credit to Brandon Asian Cuisine for opening so late, thank you for serving us so late of the night. We already ate at the pho place near here but we decided to try something new. Their special Pho is very good so I highly recommend getting that. I ordered a Bun Bo Hue, and it was decent. This noodle is my all time favorite but I wasn't feeling it this night. My other family members ordered broke rice with pork, but they didn't have pork so they asked if beef was okay. The food came out and it comes with a spicy fish sauce, usually pho restaurants have fish sauces without the spicy peppers but they didn't some. Kinda disappointed because some of the customers might not be able to eat spicy food. My dad also ordered a marinated fish (Ca Kho To) and usually that comes with a serving of rice. The marinated fish came out but then they told us that they ran out of rice. If only they told us early enough because now my dad can't eat it without rice. If they told us soon enough we wouldn't have bought it. So we To Go it home but my dad was not a happy camper.

Yelp
Really good food. Good value. Friendly staff. Clean place. Will be back often. Lunch specials good

Aaron S.

Yelp
If you're looking for ambiance, this is not for you. But if you are looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, that is as inexpensive as can be, you must come to Brandon. The large pho is an entire meal in itself, so if you're looking to have another dish, get the small pho. Broth is outstanding, and bowl chock full of meat and noodles. We will be back often!

Yelp
I waited hours before writing a review on this restaurant because I didn't know exactly where I wanted to rate it. As far as food quality it's a 4. There were issues that I couldn't turn a blind eye to and without going into too much detail, I would simply say that you should wait until the end of covid-19 before dining in. Service was friendly but it was disconnected. It's located in a strip mall at the corner of Davie Road and Sterling. Portion sizes are large to huge and prices are very reasonable. From what I saw, most plates are served rather quickly. Booths as well as tables are offered at the moment. Menu is quite extensive and I thought they would offer smaller sizes but they must have changed the menu options to just one size portion. It's a good choice for Vietnamese in this area.
