The 20 Best $10 Meals In Chicago - Chicago - The Infatuation
"The signature dish at this casual Colombian spot in Irving Park is a juicy roast chicken marinaded in a blend of soy sauce, garlic, and citrus. But if that’s not enough to pique your interest—maybe a $9.95 price point will. At Brasa Roja, that gets you a massive quarter chicken plate that either comes with potatoes and an arepa or rice, beans, and salad. Not in the mood for chicken? Their skirt steak costs the same." - john ringor, veda kilaru, nick allen
Where To Take A Chronic Chicken Orderer - Chicago - The Infatuation
"If the allure of delicious drumsticks and thighs isn't enough to entice the CCO, maybe a $9.95 price point will. At Brasa Roja, that gets you a massive quarter chicken plate with sides. The moist and perfectly seasoned flame-roasted chicken is what most people are eating at this casual Colombian spot, and you'll often see a bunch of takeout orders going through the colorful space with fake roofing and painted clouds on the ceiling. It’s all a great distraction from the idea of those birds coming face-to-face with those flames." - adrian kane, veda kilaru

First let me start by saying that as soon as you walk in here you are greeted with a smile. The staff makes you feel welcomed and present you to your table right away. Churrasco is what I chose from their delish menu. The price was perfect and the portion was pretty big as you can see on the pics below, medium well is what I chose. As an appetizer I had their chicharon empanadas and I have to say very tasty. They were crunchy on the outside and soft plus delish on the inside. I would totally recommend this place for a nice dinner at an affordable price with large portions of deliciousness...lol enjoy.

Our first time trying Colombian food. Pretty good, though the flavor wasn't really my speed.
Great staff, huge portions, low prices.
Since this was a new restaurant for us, I tried the beef combo platter. The fried plantain was my favorite part, but the beans and sausage were also pretty good, especially for breakfast the next morning.

The Whole grilled chicken was really flavourful as with the rice and beans, beef empanada. Wish I saw the grilled rabbit first but will definitely go bragh to try it.

Great place! We’ve dined in many times, ordered out probably twice as many and they are great every time. Their food is so good and consistent with flavor. I have zero complaints we go there quite often when we celebrate birthdays because they’re so quick to accommodate large parties on short notice highly recommend!

Yelp
Wanting to support a local business and try Columbian food for the first time I wandered over to Brasa Roja. Greeted warmly, their music playing in the background I felt right at home. I've eaten here twice in one week and I know this will become a regular spot. I had their grilled chicken breast, beans and salad. Under $10 and for me easily two hearty meals. My waitress made sure to answer my questions and it was sweet how excited she was to know I'm new to her family's cuisine. I looked over to a table of four and wow...they had some amazing looking steak and ribs plates that I may try in the future. My experience both times now is exactly what I'm looking for. Great food and a homey atmosphere to enjoy it in. I wasn't rushed and will return again.

Yelp
Placed an order and was blown away. The chicken is tender and super moist without dripping. It looks bland but is seasoned nicely. Ordered quarter chicken with beans and rice and salad. Also ordered quarter chicken with potatoes and a mini corn pancake. They will get these dollars.

Yelp
Chicken was good. Service was meh and the dining room left something to be desired. Would like to check out their other location

Yelp
Located in The Irving Park neighborhood of Chicago, Brasa Rojas brings authentic Colombian dishes to the table. Nice sized restaurant for dining. Good service. 5 out of 5 stars.

Yelp
The food was really good. I wanted chicken breast, but didn't want to cook, and stumbled upon Brasa Roja. 100% would order from here again. We ordered via grub hub and they suck; they just left it (I had the curbside filter on) but didn't knock on the door or ring the bell. What?? A text only helps if you're checking your phone every time. So having said that, I might consider going to pick up instead.

Yelp
Great food with appropriate pricing and fun ambiance. As a native Colombian it is not easy to find a Colombian restaurant that truly reminds me of my previous home.

Yelp
We've ordered a number of times from Brasa Roja. The wood fired whole rotisserie chicken is super flavorful and fantastic. I also recommend the juices, particularly the Soursop with milk (if you've never heard of Soursop aka Guanabana, give it a try!). Some sides are not as great as the chicken which is the only reason it's not 5 stars.

Yelp
I get the chicken breasts with garlic. So much chicken for a reasonable price. Tastes great, and all the sides are really good. Probably the best protein per dollar you can get outside of cooking yourself.
