Google
The food is delicious. I got the arepa and my husband got one of the beef soups. At first I was worried about the prices. The arepas I'm used to would be too small to be worth the prices on the menu. But when the food came out it was so much. Definitely worth the price. The arepa was cooked wonderfully. It was too much food to bite into. The stand is nice. I ended up eating the arepa with my fork. The soup was a nice hearty comforting soup, without being heavy, similar to chicken soup but with a tender beef. And a mild broth. With an underlying bright acidity. Some reviewers say service is slow. It's a casual laid back place. You are given time to enjoy the food and relax and digest.

Google
Loved our weekday lunch visit to Brasas. You can smell the deliciousness from a block away. The arepas and empanadas were incredible. Reina pepiada reminded me of a chicken salad and was made with fresh ingredients stacked high inside a perfectly cooked arepa. Empanadas came hot from the kitchen filled with juicy shredded meat. Definitely try the sauces that come with it they were a great addition. This place is a must try if you like authentic Venezuelan food. Updating with a great review for the carne asada, grilled chicken and mini arepas! All must try’s

Google
This Colombian and Venezuelan place is AWESOME. The flavor of the food is what I was looking for. The Cachapas and the arepas were excellent, the carne mechada was fenomenal. And the life music of Don Pedro was a delight. I will come back soon.

Google
The service was good, we wasn't seated that long before we were waited on. I got the vegetarian arepas and shredded chicken on plantines Both dished were full of flavor and delicious. I will definitely come back to try another dish.

Big portions!! First time trying the Lechona (risen with pulled pork and beans). Everything was delicious!!

Google
The food was absolutely delicious. We ordered breakfast soup, beef soup and the typical plate, Bandeja Paisa. Great portion. Natalia was our server and she was very attentive, courteous and efficient. Good job! The atmosphere is very cool, soft music and nice decor. I will for sure be back some day.

Google
The vibe was really nice, especially with the live singer—it made the place feel lively. The food tasted good, but it came out cold, which was a bit disappointing. Service wasn’t great, and there were a lot of flies around. When I went to the restroom, I saw small cockroaches on the floor, which was kind of gross. The place has potential, but they definitely need to step up on cleanliness and service.

Google
I went there for lunch with my family. We got 3 different types of empanadas, shredded beef, shredded chicken, and ground beef. They gave us 4 different sauces to try with the empanadas and they all tasted great. My husband got the burger, I got the patacon. We also got fries to go with my daughters empanadas. For dessert, they had tres leches dulce de leche. It was very yummy. I was reccomend this place.

Yelp
Authentic Colombian flavors at Brasa's Arepas y Grill on Old Pineville Road in Charlotte! I had the pleasure of trying the Bandeja Paisa, and it was absolutely delicious. The variety of meats and flavors was impressive. The sancocho was also a highlight - hearty and comforting. The service was warm and welcoming, adding to the overall experience. If you're craving Colombian cuisine, Brasa's is a must-try. Can't wait to go back and explore more of their menu! Fabulous ambiance. Decor and the place was neat.

Yelp
Visited on a Friday afternoon - restaurant was empty. As I walked in, didn't really receive a greeting. Ordered: Arepa Catira ($9.88) Ground beef empanada ($3.90) My waiter brought 2 packs of sauce to the table, she didn't let me know what they were. Tried both on my food - one was ranch and the other tasted like avocado ranch; not 100%. There was a wait on the food. The ground beef empanada was good; came to the table piping hot. My only con, it was greasy. Initially I wanted to build my own arepa, but it was too expensive; I was looking at $17. Instead I ordered Arepa Catira. If I knew how massive it was definitely would not have ordered an empanada. It was just okay for me.

Yelp
I been coming here since they were on the other side and it was called "Mis antojitos Colombiano" always loved the food and the person who owned it, not sure if it's the same lady. She was always super nice and friendly. Because I live an hour and half away, I only go so often, but anytime I want some Venezuelan food and I don't want to be the one that cooks it, I come here and bring my whole family. The restaurant is super cute and always has music on, but not so loud that you can't hold a conversation with someone.

Yelp
This place was great! Loved the food and it was close to what I got in my last trip to Colombia. Wait staff was friendly and food came out great. All the Colombian dishes were tasty. We shared the picada and I sampled the Colombian chicken empanadas. We had the passion fruit and guanábana juice with the meal. I would 100% recommend.

Yelp
Great place with fresh authentic food. I had a chicken and mozzarella arepa. Would definitely be back!

Alexa R.

Yelp
La comida estuvo deliciosa, el service fue un poco lento el ambiente relajado ni tan ocupado ni tan lento

Yelp
My husband and I got takeout and shared: - Venezuelan & Colombian Empanadas - Pabellón & Arepa con Todo - Mini Arepas Fritas - Queso de Mano Cachapa - Taqueños We also ordered one other thing that we weren't given which was unfortunate. The items we ordered were a bit hit or miss for me. The Taqueños and Cachapa were both delicious. I would definitely get both again. The Arepas were a bit dry for my liking. I'd try dining in next time to see if that helps with the consistency issues.

Yelp
I was surprised by the amount of filling in this arepa. Loved that it included shredded beef, chicken, chorizo, pork rinds, cheese and avocado. They also have an option to build your own. Although the chorizo could've been tastier, the dish as a whole was good and filling. The place is not huge, hence it does feel a bit crowded, but I will definitely stop by again to satisfy an arepa craving!

Yelp
A fun a delicious place to get a piece of Latin American cuisine. This place offers quite a few options. I ordered a cachapa with pork rinds and a cane sugar lemonade. They were both good. Our server was helpful and friendly, and the ambiance was just like being in a restaurant in Latin America. Beware, this business recently changed owners, so it has a new name: Brasas and Son Restaurant Bar) and the new name is being transitioned online. Also, it's a bit loud, the food smell will stick to your clothes afterwards, and the free parking lot has limited spaces since it's shared with adjacent businesses, so plan ahead. Overall, a great experience.

Yelp
You don't need to go completely out of your way for Brasas, but it was fun to try something different. They have a lot of different options, including a lot of meat and starchy items. The workers were very friendly and it was easy to go with a group. Pros: - Unique options - Good for a group - Friendly service - Tasty sauces Cons: - Lack of healthy options - Although the servers were very friendly, we had to ask for the check twice before getting it What I got: - Picado Criolloa (for 2 people) - It was good but a LOT of meat!

Yelp
This place is really all about the meat and the arepas (which are delicious) but the FRENCH FRIES are also FAB. LOL My daughter had the Arepa del Gato and she said it was a yummy vegetarian option. (Avocados, cheese & plantains) The chicken was also tender and well seasoned - I think my steak would've been better if I had specified medium rare, so I'll own that. We really liked the sauces and even took some extra with our leftovers. The place has really improved its ambiance since the first time I came here and now serves alcohol. Expect to be greeted in Spanish by a friendly staffer and to eat among native Spanish speakers. We'll def be back!

Angler R.

Yelp
Nice place. The waitresses were very friendly and helpful. The service was good but of course the food was the highlight. I had a plate of food that was enough to feed two people, carne asada, chorizo, chicharrone, fried egg, plantain, avacado, rice and arepa. Everything was delicious. I'm not sure why this place doesn't get more attention. Everything about it is commendable. I don't get to Charlotte often, but if I go back I will head straight back to Brasas.

Dayan L.

Yelp
Food was good. Service was good. But be careful with the check they are charging 8.25% of NC taxes instead of 7.25 as well as adding service charges of 15% to a table of 4. Chequen sus cuentas, les estan cobrando mucho mas de taxes y aparte les incluyen el servicio sin ser mesas grandes.

Lee V.

Yelp
The food and service were amazing! We took third graders on a field trip to learn about Colombian culture and their foods and to be immersed in the culture and experience. They accommodated our very large group, everyone got their food orders quickly, and all students enjoyed their food. The restaurant is a small but quaint place to enjoy very authentic Colombian food.

Yelp
Brasas is hands down one of the best Hispanic/Latino restaurants in Charlotte. The food is always on point and they never disappoint. My go to is the bandeja paisa but you can't go wrong with their arepas or carne a la bara. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest you do soon

Samantha O.

Yelp
I order a cachito it was the worse I have eaten in my life , I think it was expired the ham was brown it smelled bad I took one bite and to the garbage. It was 6.50$ never will I go to this restaurant.

Leo L.

Yelp
If I could leave 0 zero stars, I would. My wife and I went to eat there today (05/16/2025). We placed our order (or so we thought) with a male server at 8:30pm. After an hour (9:30pm) goes by, and seeing other customers who arrived over 30 minutes after us get their food, and seeing countless of to-go orders handed out to other customers, I finally decided to ask about our food. According to them, the order was never placed in their system. True story. Not sure if it was intentional or not. I'll leave it at that. After an hour of waiting, we decided to leave.

Yelp
Food was great. Service wasn't so good. Waitress didn't follow through on our order. We asked to substitute the blood sausage for more regular sausage. They took back the plate and returned it without more regular sausage. We had to ask for the remaining portion. Also; my wife's food came out way before our food. She requested a hot chocolate with her meal and got it much later. More attention to the Customers request would be appreciated. The ambiance is nice. I'll try other places before I come back.

Yelp
We were in look for Colombian or Venezuelan food. We came up with this restaurant on yelp, and we were not disappointed we got a combo for two people everything was cooked well, the people who serve are very nice and welcoming. The juices are natural and delicious. I would defiantly come back, also the ambience took me back to my family's home country, there was a person singing! Recommend!

Yelp
Not what advertised on the menu On the menu it looks different as the plate you get and prices don't go according to what is served
google avatar

Greg S.

Yelp
Delicioso! Everything is made FRESH to order. Drink: guava smoothie- so fresh and so clean clean Coffee Americano- Good Food: "Breakfast creole" platter which comes with seasoned scramble eggs w/ onions & peppers, pulled pork, stewed black beans, arepa, and farmers cheese. My friend's review about the cheese: "that farmers cheese seals the deal, yo" Listen! Anything you get here, you can not go wrong.
google avatar

Carlos G.

Yelp
The service was very bad and they charge service fee for table of two people. The lady who was taking my order was rude. I dont mind paying those high prices if the restaurant have good service and good food. I would recommend going to a fancy steakhouse restaurant, you will end spending the same amount.
google avatar

Yelp
Food is great, made with care. Communication is tough if you don't speak Spanish. Don't order online as you still have to wait once you get there. Better to dine in than take out. Good parking and friendly however be patient.
google avatar

Jacina H.

Yelp
I can only rate the service because I didn't stay for food. I came in on 3/10/2023 alone and sat at the bar. I pulled up the menu on my phone with the QR code and was never greeted, offered a water, or even told "we'll be right with you" be either of the ladies that were hosting/working the bar. They spent a lot of time laughing with the guy beside me even after he had his to go orders & even greeted a family of 4 who were entering when i was getting up to leave. It's frustrating because it was my first time there and I was excited because the food smelled amazing.

Rebeca P.

Yelp
Really good arepas. Super filling and delicious. Got the one with chicken and cheese. Cozy spot, good for a casual date/friend date night. Service was good.

Yelp
I like this place! I was surprised to see low reviews. We only have gotten takeout from here but we are Always satisfied. I love that there are multiple vegetarian sandwiches. It's a little confusing cause the online menus differ on the ordering services. And the website listed on yelp right now isn't their website. I don't think they have a website. They do have a Facebook. I'll suggest yelp links that instead. So I'd order by calling or in person if you're unsure what's what. I do recommend the company gets a website cause I think a lot of reviews are frustrated with trying to figure out what they actually have without going in person.

Gaby H.

Yelp
My family and I came here for brunch, and this place was amazing. We ordered, and the food came here in under 10 minutes. My dad and sister ordered the Carne Mechada Arepa and they were huge! The Colombian empanadas we're delicious with the sauces they provide. The portions at this place are big. I'll definitely be coming back.

Terence G.

Yelp
Tried several of empanada flavors and the arepa - all were excellent. Highly recommend a visit!
google avatar

Diana G.

Yelp
The Venezuelan empanadas are delicious. Whatever batter they use is tastier than empanadas elsewhere. I also had an Arepa Pabellón which was very savory & filling.
google avatar

Rocio W.

Yelp
Great food! Had the arepa con todo it's a lot so come with a good appetite. The guanábana (soursop) milkshake was delicious too.

Edith F.

Yelp

Karyn J.

Yelp
Love the food, however; the last 3 times I have order items through an application they have sent wrong or missing items and the worst part is that there is no way to communicate with them either by phone nor a valid web site. Unacceptable

Constantino F.

Yelp
Pricey for Venezuelan street food. $5 for papelón con limón and no refill. Arepas are ok but very poor service. I felt like an annoyance; it's like they're doing you a favor by taking your order. Not all that, frankly.

Vanessa C.

Yelp
Food is good but the service is horrible, even when it's only 2 tables with customers and two servers.

Sohila A.

Yelp
Their Colombian empanadas are very amazing. I purchased a bunch for a potluck and everyone loved them!

Julio R.

Yelp
The food was great! But one of the worst service I've ever had. Only 3 tables had customers and we even had to get up to the front to get drinks and the rest of the food. Loved the food and it's a shame that the customer service will make us not to come back.
