Celebrated my nieces 15th birthday and we were alllll impress with food and service. Our waiter was lisa and she made everything ten times better with her amazing service skills. Food, drinks and desserts were out of this world! Please don't hesitate to try this place out you will love it!

Google
Brass City Bistro. (We’d never been there before but we will be back!) The drinks were superb and the food quantity was amazing. We split one order of the Seabass and seafood special; they even plated it for us separately, so the food on our plate is 1/2 a dish (one dish split), and I still couldn’t finish it! it even came with a salad no one does that anymore. I highly recommend this place especially before a show! But they were a little backed up so get there 5:30 for an 8:00 show. they were busy and we did have to wait for our food but worth it!

I went to celebrate my mother and son’s birthday. The portions are HUGE! I ordered the penne ala vodka with shrimp. The sauce was a little bland. The service was good. Next time I’ll try something different.

The Lobster Bisque is out of this world! So decadent and delicious 🤤 Everything I get here is always great!

Google
I'm currently here stuffed to the gills (no pun intended) with some of the most delicious and decadent baked seafood I've had. The Baked Seafood Skillet is top notch, the vegetables and mashed potatoes were tasty and properly seasoned and the shrimp bisque, recommended by the server was chock full of shrimp and wildly delicious. The service was prompt, efficient and friendly, dishes were cleared in a flash after it was clear we were done and our water glasses were constantly full. If you want great food in a nice atmosphere this place will definitely make you leave happy.

Pork chop Osso Bucco is the greatest dish I ever had! I love bcb! Close to home and great atmosphere! And even better food and drink choices! A must go to!

Google
Good food, good service, and a very nice chill atmosphere. I would certainly recommend this place. The menu can be pricey in some places, but there are plenty of afforable options too. I've never had a bad meal here!

Google
We dined at brass city prior to a show at The Palace. We were greeted upon arrival with a warm welcome and seated promptly. Huge portions that are executed very nicely with flavorful care. We will come back.

Yelp
First time coming to Brass City Bistro and it was a great dinning experience! The food was fantastic and the portions were plentiful. The staff was very attentive and we even got a visit from the owner/chef. This will be our new place to bring family and friends to enjoy a great meal.

Yelp
This is my third visit to BCB and I have to upgrade my previous review. I tried one of their signature meals this time around chicken Lobster Oscar over linguine. Truly a delicious dish with a egg battered chicken with Hollandaise sauce topped with twin lobster over a garden's worth of vegetables. We also had a tremendous bartender/ server that needs to be commended for providing A+ service with a smile. Kudos to Bailey. Good ambiance

Yelp
The wait was a little long but worth the wait. Portions are huge so definitely bring an appetite. Reminded me of family size portions. I would definitely return.

Yelp
Went for lunch today with hubby and friend. They have a very nice lunch menu, great ambiance and excellent service. I had delicious chicken Marsala, it came with mashed potatoes and broccoli and cauliflower. The serving was enormous! The others had sandwiches that came with a pickle, fries and onion strings. We were all happy with our meals and I took home leftovers. The iced tea could be better. Nice large glasses of water that I really appreciated. Sorry, I did not remember to take photos. There are photos on their website.

Yelp
I heard great things about the spot however I visited on Valentine's Day for dinner. I literally waited 20 minutes just to get a glass of water.. bartenders were terrible. They couldn't make a proper drink to save their lives.. have to wait in about an hour and a half for dinner people who we ordered before it got their food before us. It's supposed to be upscale. The prices are definitely upscale however the food was just OK when I got it I think because the service was so bad. I was so turned off from everything else..

Yelp
It's been years since I've been here but we recently came for a birthday and it was a very pleasant experience. Everyone enjoyed their appetizers and I especially loved the French onion soup. They topped it with delicious crispy fried onions that I couldn't stop eating. For dinner I opted for the chicken francaise which was delicious and the portion was huge! The service was friendly and prompt. Unfortunately we were too full for dessert but we will definitely save room next time.

Yelp
A good place for date night. Staff was pleasant although slightly preoccupied with some patrons they knew personally. They doted on them and the chef visisted them a few times. It impressed me to see the attentiveness but didn't experience it. We enjoyed our meal but opted not to stay for dessert. Perhaps another night might lead us to linger and enjoy more. Our entrees were plenty and tasty. I look forward to trying again and other dishes.

Yelp
Three of us went to dinner here for the first time. We were really impressed with the quality and preparation of the seafood. We all had the specials - an Ahi tuna appetizer and the combination seafood dinners. Second, the fish (Sea Bass), lobster, shrimp and huge scallops were cooked perfectly. The Sea Bass in particular was cooked perfectly - seared on the outside and soft/moist on the inside. Even the veggies that came with the dinners (brocolli and cauliflower) were not over cooked. We did not eat dessert -- we were so over stuffed we couldn't eat any more. To improve, we all would say "decrease" the quantity of food! The portions are excessively LARGE. It was simply too much food. I would also say you could improve the timing... it was a slow dinner.

Yelp
My 9 year old daughter took me to eat for my birthday on March 11 last month in the afternoon, so i chose to eat at Brass city. While ordering the food, in which i had the steak and it comes with a soup. So the issue i had was when I asked about the different options of soup, the waitress mentioned a couple of them, so i decided to get which i believe it was some kind of shrimp soup. So when i got the bill the waitress charged me an extra 5 dollars for it. When i asked her about it she said that there is an up charge for the shrimp soup in which she did not mention before. I wouldn't mind paying for it but the fact that she put it on the bill and didn't tell me it rubbed me the wrong way. I mean who does that? In addition my daughter asked her if they do anything for my birthday, like scoop of ice cream, etc. The waitress said yes we do, and she mentioned the desert menu. We got like a chocolate lava cake, But then again she charged me for it as well. I don't mind paying if there is an up charged or for the dessert but the way she went about was not good. Then when i asked her about the up charge she said that she had told me. So on top of everything she lied. Plus she was not attentive at my table. It was a horrible experience.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised as a first timer on a Holiday, this food was literally Outstanding!!! From the table bread/oil, salad, Appetizers: calamari the Main course Steak & lobster all the way up to the dessert My goodness!! I would love to come back next time I'm in waterbury and bring a friend. I highly recommend this restaurant

Yelp
The plates here are huge and quite filling! It's a family owned restaurant with a kind staff. Drinks are good and happy hour is decent, the hours could be better, but very tasty. Their bisque soups are by far my favorite in the Waterbury area!
google avatar

Yelp
Always a great time here! The food and drinks are wonderful. Service is great. Great Drink specials. Try the egg nog martini. The booths are really big and fancy. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. Definitely a place to just catch a meal or to get together for an occasion.

Yelp
This has become my bi monthly go to! First I have to say the staff makes the evening start off amazing. Then the appetizers..cant leave without have meatballs, calamari and clams! Cant choose one they are all so good! The entress are so filling you have to plan when you are going to stop if you even think you want to indulge in one of their great desserts. They have a Chilean Seabass that I cant get enough of. Their mash potatoes are always fresh and flavorful. Something as common as chicken parmigiano is always a perfect go to..Never had anything here that was great.

Yelp
Overall good food - I wish I had ordered something besides the fish sandwich- the salads looked amazing ! Portions where gigantic My 6 friends went after yoga training and we each had something diff so we al enjoyed what we had while sitting at the bar. The place was And for a baby shower and some other birthday party

Yelp
I came here on a Sunday night. It wasn't very busy at all. The space is very relaxed. The prices don't seem to match the ambiance. They were practically upscale NYC restaurant prices. Nonetheless, our meal was ok. The chicken francaise was good, a little small, but flavorful. The side of fries was done just right. The cranberry and walnut salad was huge, and the chowder was ok. It did the trick for this evening. Honestly, if the prices weren't so high, my overall rating would have been higher.

John C.

Yelp
Huge portions but very pricey. Used to go often prior to pandemic so we decided to go back. The French onion soup and the salads very good. We got specials, wife hot an eggplant appetizer for main dinner and it was very good, i had the lasagne, a bit bland for me - this was $46. $3.50 for each soda. I have been priced out of this restaurant.

Yelp
First time there for a pre-show dinner. It did not disappoint! I live 40 minutes away, would go back in a heartbeat! The food and service was fantastic. Not one bad dish!

Roxanne W.

Yelp
Great Itami all dishes.. the lunch is as good as the dinner.. A bit pricy, so be ready to spend more than average but I've never been disappointed.

Suzanne R.

Yelp
Food is awesome !!! Pricey .... Great atmosphere .. service is spot on & waitresses/waiters are attentive

Yelp
we sat at the bar on a slow monday night/ my husband ordered the veal milanese but instead of over pasta he asked for penne on the side with alio o (garlic & olive oil)~the bartendar said the standard "no problem" when his meal came , it was over linguini smothered in some type of lemon style sauce. when he questioned the person who placed our order he was told quite rudely that he would have gotten the veal over the pasta anyway! at least it would have been edible instead of drowned in a disgusting thick lemon sauce! i ordered a salad with grilled chicken that was iced cold! all in all a very disappointing experience! and this is a restaurant that we used to visit on a regular basis! we forgot why we stopped going!

Kris G.

Yelp
I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. The portions are extremely generous. We had the calamari appetizer, it was very fresh and and the batter was flavorful. I had the special, cavatelli with sausage and shrimp, it was delicious. If you are a garlic fan, go for the shrimp scampi. It was absolutely delicious and they give you a generous portion of jumbo shrimp. For dessert, you can't go wrong with the chocolate lava cake. It is the best I have ever eaten. Last but not least, from the time we walked in to the time we walked out, the service was amazing. Everyone was working together to ensure the customers had the best possible experience.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with another couple and we were generally pleased with the food, decor, cleanliness and service.

Taylor B.

Yelp
The servers are very attentive and pleasant. We had Megan, she was charming and helpful! Calamari app w/gorgonzola & peppers was delicious. Great breading & marinara sauce. The stuffed mushroom app was awesome. They were super stuffed & moist, delicious, great stuffing! I had the Chicken Francaise as my meal. Instead of getting it with mash and veg, I got it over linguine and it was beyond delicious. I still have about 3 servings in my fridge, they were so generous! Prices were a little steep but it makes sense because you bring more than half of it home! It also came with either a soup or house salad, the raspberry vinaigrette was delicious. I recommend the bistro if you haven't tried!

Yelp
Since we had tickets to a show in Waterbury we wanted to eat nearby. Luckily a friend recommended BCB because it was a very enjoyable start to our evening. BCB is easily accessible by I-84. Parking is plentiful and it is only about 6 minutes from downtown Waterbury in case you are eating before an event. It is a small restaurant but in a cozy, not crowded way. There are several tables in the front with a large bar area in the rear where there are also a few tables and booths. When I called to see if there was a reservation available, the hostess was very pleasant, and even though it was last minute she fit us in. The menu's, both drink and food, offer quite a variety. The "Italian" label is misleading since this restaurant offers seafood, chicken, hamburgers and salads as well. The prices are comparable to similar restaurants we've been too with entrees ranging from $21 to $55. We ordered seafood which same with a mountain of creamy potatoes and a large side of vegetables. My only criticism is that there was no melted butter for the shrimp. Ron, one of our servers was especially friendly and helpful, and service was fast enough to get to our show, but not so fast that we felt rushed. We would definitely eat here again when attending a show in the area.

Jeff L.

Yelp
Excellent food, big portions, great waitress Carol. We will be back. My grilled pork chop was fabulous.

Yelp
Just had the best appetizer in history! The ahi tuna was beyond phenomenal!! I'm so full from that appetizer it's not even funny! The pickled veggies were so good and then they made this seaweed that literally blew my shoes off!!
google avatar

Jeffrey L.

Yelp
Went here for a group after a baptism. I believe we had a party menu. Came with rolls, salad, calamari, penne alla vodka, then order the sirloin. Thought everything was good in terms of the pricing, quality, and service. Would go back again.

Yelp
Holy moly. Get ready to eat from start to finish this restaurant is fantastic. You will definitely be going home with leftovers. I can't even highlight one of the items because they're all super. And all the service there is top notch.
google avatar

Yelp
Had dinner tonight with 3 friends and 3 kids, 2 adults only had a beer and a water, Check comes and waitress adds on 20% auto gratuity. Lack luster service apps served with entree. Poor service with arrogant waitress. I guess she thought we were cheap and wouldn't tip her. My question if 6 people sit at a table and only 3 eat and the other 3 leave before food is served is it legal to add auto gratuity? I can assure you one thing for 2 beers and subpar penne pasta $105 is a freaking ridiculous. Train your staff customer comes first tips are earned not guaranteed. Here's my suggestion go some where else!

Matt W.

Yelp
I ordered the baked scrod, huge portion of food. Everything including the service was excellent. Great Bloody Mary too! I'd definitely recommend!

Yelp
Went there with my coworkers from Waterbury Hospital. Let just say the manager Lisa was amazing. Her husband is the chef the food was to die for the pumpkin martini was the best

Yelp
Birthday dinner with my husband! We had reservations...highly recommend. For an appetizer we shared the scallops wrapped in bacon. HUGH scallops! Delicious!! Enjoyed some great Chilean See bass! Portions are large. No dessert. Service above average! Will DEFINITELY be back!!

Yelp
Just spent 350.00 on Easter Brunch at this restaurant, Not worth it at all! the wait for a omelet was 20 min,Eggs Benedict was soggy with hard boiled egg on top, they had no salads, no shrimp cocktail, only served one chicken dish, pasta, bacon, sausage, stuffed sole boiled potato, french toast that had been sitting all morning. no oj. or complementary drinks. desert was a joke, it was on the window sill and it was a chocolate cake along with some fruit that was also sitting on window sill. they charge 40pp and 19 for a five year old and three year old. reserved a table for 9 and they brought out a card table to put at end of a round table. Never been so disappointed in a Easter brunch dining experience.i urge you to go anywhere else if your looking for a buffet brunch. I am not writing this to be mean. I want you to have a heads up. we all work hard for our money. This is NOT the place to go and spend it.

Yelp
Their food is wonderful! Love to go here when we're catching a show at the theatre in Waterbury. Their French onion soup is all my all time favorite. Tiny and quaint ... nice atmosphere.

Yelp
First time here and we just stopped in after a wake. Wish I lived closer because the food & service was amazing!! We sat at the bar and the bartender was attentive and recommended great options. I ended up taking meals home for my husband because the food was so good! Next time in this area we will definitely be back!
google avatar

Charlsie G.

Yelp
I really like the happy hour options here. I remember the food being too greasy for me a few years ago so I don't go for dinner. I think it's a great spot to stop and have an appetizer and a couple drinks. They did a good job with the outside tent, even tho I havent been in it yet. It's very convenient to get to also!
google avatar

Kait W.

Yelp
Small place with a nice patio. The bar was pretty busy, even at 4:30 when I met a group for a birthday dinner. The fried mozzarella was amazing, as was the chicken parm. The servings are huge well worth the money.
google avatar

Glenn J.

Yelp
We came here with a group for a dinner and had a good experience. We started at the bar, then made our way to the back room for dinner. The room was a bit narrow. It was tight for the server and helpers to move around. Portions here are generous. We had a few apps for the table and there was plenty to go around. We sampled number and they were good. A few were slightly over battered and a bit oily. Dinners were really good. Again, big portions. My wife and I ended up brining some home. Certainly no shortage of food! The service was good. Our server did a good job considering the size of our group. She probably could have used the help of another server, but did well considering.

Alice B.

Yelp
Way overpriced!!! Ended up just getting a salad with chicken. The salad was enough for 5 people. Why do I need a salad that big? Got blackened chicken with the salad, which was horrible. Was charged for a refill on a soda which was so small to begin with and mostly ice. Really? I paid $6 for two glasses ice. When you charge prices like that, at least have free refills on the soda. Honestly, I've had better meals at Chili's, which I would recommend over this place ANY DAY. Will never go back.

L E.

Yelp
Brass City Bistro does not disappoint! We made a last minute reservation here on a Friday night, we arrived early and happily surprised our table was waiting. Carol, our waitress, was a darling. She was super cheerful and attentive. Just the right amount of attention. Everything was brought out in a timely manner. The food was mouth watering and portion sizes were amazing! I can't wait to go back. The atmosphere is lively, if you're not into loud spaces it's not for you, but I personally live that vibe.
google avatar

Jashar K.

Yelp
I brought my family for dinner after giving it another try, very disappointed. I feel bad that we all left hungry because the food was straight up nasty. If I have to compare it to shit that's what their food was. Chicken Parmesan was straight up nasty, the veal was nasty, lastly the fish- wow I don't even wanna talk about how their fish was because it makes me look bad using such language. I hope the owner read this and if he or she is- please try the food before you serve to your customers, at least I and my huge family will never be back here again.

Yelp
For value, Mon-Tues special is 5 stars!! $50 special for two is unbeatable value. Nice people. Lovely food choices. Worth the trip--there is a deal right now on restaurant.com.

Yelp
After 16/17 years of being out of touch, my current boyfriend and I met here for drinks on March 1, 2013. So I thought it nice and sappy that we have dinner here for our 1 year right? It was a Saturday night and they were pretty booked but apparently they had rooms I didnt even know existed from our prior 2 visits. We were seated and given bread (amazing..comes with hot pepper dipping oil!!). Since they were bust it took a bit to get our drinks but from there it was smooth sailing. I opted for the Toasted Almond Martini and OMFG it was freakin sooo good! For dinner we both tried a special.. one was penne with chicken, shrimp, peas, broth, cannellini beans (that's all I can recall) the other was Overstuffed cheese ravioi with broccoli rabe and sausage. Both weretasty but the ravioli dish won us over. It should be permanent on their menu! Had a wonderful anniversary dinner! Great food, Great drinks and the service was very good although slow starting but I can't say enough about this place. Have not been disappointed yet!

Yelp
I visited for lunch after my sister's college graduation, and overall it was just okay. There was a mix-up with our reservation, so we had a reserved table in the bar rather than in the dining room. My entree, a lobster Caesar wrap, was mediocre--but my prosecco spritzer and onion soup were excellent, as was the service. Still, I'll try somewhere else in Waterbury next time.

Fritz L.

Yelp
First time here and we weren't disappointed. The bruschetta appetizer was very good, I wish the tomatoes had been a little more ripe. The chicken parmesan was very good. The stuffed sole was good, but I think the stuffing is too heavily weighted with too much of the cracker mix. Didn't taste any seafood at all in the stuffing. Strawberry shortcake was very good. Large portions!

Tricia G.

Yelp
Carol and the staff did a fantastic job accommodating our bereavement luncheon. The service was great and the food was plentiful and delicious. Thank you so much for helping us through a difficult day!
