I just happened to hang out at this place since it was probably the most affordable bar in the area. I needed a place to hangout while waiting for my wife and her friends have their ladies' night out (designated driver and all). I thought it was just a cozy, neighborhood bar. I had the Fish and Chips for dinner. It wasn't bad. It could have used some more seasoning. But it went very well with the tartar sauce. I had four beers from the tap (my limit for the night): They were the Brass Monkey IPA (a good IPA, I liked it even though I am not a fan of IPAs), the Hofbrau, the Allagash White and the Victory Pilsner. The Hofbrau and the Pilsner were my favorites.
I came there sometime past 8pm was just planning to just chill and chat with the barkeeps. They were very friendly. As earlier mentioned, I thought the bar was just a nice neighborhood joint. Come 11pm, that changed really quickly. Suddenly I was surrounded by a crowd more than half of them were young enough to be my kids. The DJ started pumping out great tunes, from old school to the stuff them youngins listen to nowadays. LOL! I did feel out of place for a moment. Then, my wife and her friends showed up and decided to hang out with me. The places they went to was too stuck up and they just wanted to let loose. Well, they did come to the right place and we all partied as if we were still in our early 20s. Needless to say, we did enjoy ourselves (some of us, way too much). This place is a great discovery for me. Worth coming back to and forget that I am a middle-aged guy with a wife and three kids. ;-)
