We chose Brasserie Astoria for our anniversary dinner, and it was a fantastic decision. From the moment you walk in, the lavish interior sets a sophisticated and grand tone—it’s truly one of the most beautiful dining rooms in the city. The service was equally impressive. The staff were incredibly prompt and attentive, ensuring our glasses were never empty and the pace of the meal felt just right. The Highlights • Pasta with Caviar: Absolutely stunning and packed with flavor. It felt like a true indulgence. • Signature Astoria Bread: This lived up to the hype and certainly did not disappoint! • Wine Selection: Our server recommended a wine that was exceptionally tasty and paired beautifully with our starters. • A Sweet Touch: A huge thank you to the team for the complimentary chocolate cake to mark our anniversary. It was a thoughtful gesture that made the night even more memorable. The only slight letdown was the fried chicken. While it remained incredibly juicy on the inside, it was unfortunately very salty. Overall, it was a glamorous and delicious evening. We highly recommend Brasserie Astoria for anyone looking to celebrate a special occasion!

We had an awesome experience here and would recommend it. + Service was excellent. We were offered a table upon walk in despite it being fully booked. The waitress attending our table was friendly and attentive. The food was served very quickly, all coming in less than 10 minutes of ordering. Water was topped up frequently without being called for. + Caesar salad was prepared table side and was delicious. The accompanying chicken breast was surprisingly tender and flavourful. + Veal Schnitzel was nicely done, crispy with a few accompaniments + Dessert was waffle and earl grey ice cream. Nice combination, satisfyingly light waffle. + Service was excellent. The waitress attending our table was friendly and attentive. Water was topped up frequently without being called for. The food was served very quickly, all coming in less than 10 minutes of ordering. + The ambience is one of their strong points, being within the Victoria Concert Hall.

A Slice of Stockholm, Framed by Theatre and Heritage 🇸🇪🇸🇬 House inside Victoria Concert Hall, this restaurant delivers an experience that feels quietly theatrical in the best possible way. Set within one of Singapore’s most beautiful heritage buildings and just steps from the river, this is the kind of place where dinner naturally extends into a post-meal stroll along the Singapore River. A lovely touch, and one that completes the evening effortlessly. The décor is elegant and atmospheric. High ceilings, dramatic lighting, rich textures, and a sense of restrained grandeur that feels intentional rather than showy. It’s not minimalist, but it’s not heavy either. The space balances old-world theatre charm with contemporary Nordic refinement, and the result is an ambiance that feels very much aligned with a Stockholm dining experience. Top tier, quietly confident, and beautifully executed. On the food front, this is refined Swedish brasserie fare done properly. If you’re familiar with Swedish cuisine, you’ll recognise the emphasis on quality ingredients and clean flavours. A standout is the löjrom (Swedish vendace roe), which I didn’t photograph but is absolutely worth ordering. The wine list deserves special mention, it’s very extensive. I was delighted to spot Orpheus & The Raven Blend, one of my favourite South African wines, an unexpected but welcome find. Pair that with a knowledgeable sommelier and you get an experience that encourages exploration without intimidation. To add to the authenticity, one of the servers spoke Swedish, which genuinely made the evening feel like a small pocket of Stockholm transplanted into Singapore. Yes, it’s premium priced, but the experience matches the spend. From the food to the service to the setting, everything feels considered and elevated. A practical note: the bathrooms are not in the restuarant but located within the theatre compound, which means navigating a few stairs. That said, it fits seamlessly with the overall aesthetic and sense of place and super clean. This is Singapore, after all. Bottom line: Brasserie Astoria an elegant, immersive, and quietly impressive experience. Pair dinner with an after-dinner walk by the river, and you have a night that feels complete.

Had a lovely early Christmas dinner here and loved every minute of it! The restaurant itself is beautiful, including the cutlery. Service was absolutely delightful. One of the male staff even took notice that we liked the escargot sauce very much, and took the effort to serve us a small saucer of the sauce to go with our fries. The duck breast was perfect and their waffle ice cream is a must order! Can’t wait for my next visit <3

The atmosphere is absolutely fantastic. We were literally soaking in the vibes. We ordered 4 dishes: Orecchiette, Löjrom Pizza, Braised Iberico Pork Cheeks and Halibut. We ❤️ the Orecchiette pasta and the pizza. Gotta eat them while it's hot. The braised pork cheeks was a letdown. A distinct 'porky' taste can be detected even though the pork cheeks are braised till soft. The Halibut didn't fare that well too. It's more of a seafood mix rather than just halibut. The fish was a bit mushy to taste. We also tried their fruity flavoured cocktails: tu-tu-tu-tu and you should be dancing. Both are really sweet which ain't to our liking. Overall, not the most value for $$, but a 1 time experience for such atmosphere is still recommended.

Recently popped in with 14 people to have a year end Christmas gathering. We were very well taken care of by Chloe and team who were very accommodating of my many changes in the lead up to the event. Great service and quality of food on the day itself as well. Everyone couldn’t stop singing praise of the steak, burrata, garlic bread and pasta. Thank you for the great hospitality!

This place is straight out of a movie—set on the ground floor of the Victoria Theatre/Hall, with high ceilings, grand interiors, and that old-European elegance that instantly transports you somewhere else. It’s a bit of a walk from City Hall MRT, but totally worth it. Despite being a weekday evening, the restaurant was buzzing with a diverse, international crowd. The atmosphere was dim and moody (great for dates, not so much for menu reading). I had to practically squint like a detective just to figure out what I was ordering. Small headache there—literally. As for the food? Honestly… I’m still not sure what genre it falls into. Fusion? Modern European? Whatever it was, it took a backseat to the real highlight: the staff. Every single person we interacted with was warm, engaging, and had impeccable timing. The guy who introduced the menu, the sommelier who walked us through the wines, and even the staff who just popped by to check on us—everyone had a genuine smile and that rare ability to read the room. The female sommelier even threw in a few witty jokes that lifted our work-heavy moods instantly. She was a gem. Special shoutout to the plates too. Seriously, the dishware was so cool that just seeing it made me grin. Every detail felt intentional and full of character. One warning though: the restroom is quite a trek. Dark hallway, no one around… spooky vibes. I needed wine courage just to make the trip. In short, this is the kind of place where people create the magic. I’d go back just for them.

Great dining experience at Brasserie Astoria, which we just found out that it is part of the Frantzen group. Food did not disappoint, the fried chicken is a must try. Excellent service by John and Tala. Most impressed with the stemware too.
