"A cosy French restaurant housed in an 18C building which was originally a stable and later spent time as a garage and an interior furnishings store. It has a small front terrace, a bar decorated with wine boxes and a wall made of corks. The chef is a Francophile and creates flavoursome classic French dishes." - Michelin Inspector

Had snails for the first time ever. Very very nice. Mains was steak which was cooked to perfection. Atmosphere and service was excellent. Worthy of a visit.

had the seasonal menu and wine pairing, expected good things and totally exceeded expectations!!!! everything was cooked with amazing attention to detail and fantastic wine! impressive wine selection from the top of the top to some very reasonable and delicious offerings. expected great things, and got far greater!!! what a gem of a meal that was.

The food was amazing, particularly the snails and crayfish for entree. Absolutely delicious. Full of flavour. The duck breast was tasty but a little bit chewy. I had better ones elsewhere. The presentations were beautiful for most dishes. Thought not sure about smash potato for the fish (make it look like pub food). The atmosphere was cosy on a cold night with dimmed lights. The services were superb. The staff were very attentive. Overall, it was great dining experience as a tourist.

We arrived in Oslo from Tromso and were very excited to try this restaurant. In fact, it was the first meal we planned to eat in Oslo as it was listed on the Michelin page with a distinction. The snails and onion soup were great incl. the presentation - no complaints there. I ordered a beef tartare for my main course which came with some fries and salad on the side. About halfway through the meal, I found a piece of paper (which looked like an invoice perhaps) inside my salad. This was a frustrating experience and completely ruined my appetite after which I couldn’t eat. The restaurant staff was kind enough to take this dish out of our bill and offer us a complementary dessert. While I do appreciate the apologetic gesture, I believe that these instances are absolutely unacceptable in a place of this reputation.

Everything we ordered was very tasty and top notch when it comes to taste. Tartar was definitely the best. Bernaise sauce was perfect. Snails and onion soup also recommended. Portions of main dishes were quite big. Only drawback is the atmosphere. The design and lighting also do not match the food

Dark and cold... one of the coldest in many years, evening in Oslo! One wants to share a cosy evening with one´s family, in nice and cosy surroundings with good food and wine! Where one should go, in this wonderful city of Oslo! Brasserie blanche..I say! You like French food, not too fussy, classics,...without too much cheffy fanfare...honest food! Then look no further...Brasserie Blanche is the destination for ....perhaps one of the finest French food! Set in one of the old buildings... the interior was modest...clean and Scandnavian simplicity with a real fireplace...warm and cosy....with arrays of fine wines... on the shelves..that decorated and matched the milieu of the spirit of French bistro that it is. we started with scallops with beurre blanc with chives...scallops were perfectly cooked...beurre blanc had a perfect balance of acidity and saltiness. French onion soup was, as it should be..rich, dark, and perfect amount of melting cheese on top of toasted bread layered with meltingly tender onions! It tasted super good and comforting but I think, the amount was a bit too much! We were going to have three courses! The beef tartare was bit disappointing! there were no shallots, red onions or capers! just a bit of mustard which I could hardly taste! some flakes of horseradish on the top with egg yolk were hardly distinguishable! and it lacked the seasoning! Perhaps, its their way of serving ...but for me, it lacked the genuine spirit of Beef tartare! that acidity of capers, little sweet crunchiness of shallots and salt to bring out the overall flavour! It was Meh! For the main course, we had entrecøte with bearnaise sauce....with french fries and broccoli! WOW!...it was perfectly cooked to our liking...but it lacked seasoning...and there was no salt and pepper on the table either! The bearnaise sauce was perfect..creamy, silky, slightly acidic, sweet, subtle taste and aroma of tarragon. one couldn't fault it! french fries were good too.! there could have been a little one more broccoli but hey.... We also had cod with mashed potatoes with root vegetables and a nice foamy sauce. everything was perfectly cooked. No fault there! To finish with we had, chocolate fondant with vanilla ice cream! oh wow! that warm, soft and gooey melting inside of chocolate fondant was a highlight for my 4 yr old! I had some with their homemade vanilla ice cream! it was amazing! creme brule was, as it should be ..soft, creamy and tender with thin caramelisation on the top. yummmmmmmmm! I had warm apple tart tartine with vanilla ice cream on the top! wow! if there is a taste of heaven...this is it! I was with my 4 and 15-year-old daughters, so couldn't relish the fine offerings of wine they had! but what few glasses, I had were good...went well with the food. One of the best places in town for your French food without fanfare!

Had the citrus sea bass and crème brulee. Both were outstanding! Even the skin of the sea bass was good. Will definitely come back next time I’m in Oslo.

Yelp
Oui, oui, oui! This brasserie can be one of my new favorites for a weekend lunch. I was here for their special buffet on Saturdays between 12:00-15:30, which serves a good selection of rustic French fare. Onion soup? Check. Cassoulet? Check. Creme brulee? Check. The buffet selections are extensive that you can construct a satisfying 4-course traditional French meal. Plenty of good classics here, but a special nod to the stunning, complex sweetness of the onion soup. It's not often you see a buffet of this quality in Oslo. I cannot think of a better value for a big french gourmand.

Yelp
What a special treat. Great service. Amazing food. Close to our hotel (Saga). We opted for a late reservation since we booked earlier that day, and jet-lag helped us enjoy our meal at 21:30. The white-washed brick walls really give it the French dining feel. We had the fish of the day (halibut), french onion soup, and duck. All was nicely done! The duck especially had a nice caramelized finish to it. Only awkward part (probably our fault) was that we couldn't finish our main course and asked for a box to take the extra with us. Then they didn't serve us our dessert until we asked for it a second time because they thought we were too full (I suppose Norwegians normally order the right amount of food, and maybe it is not normal to save leftovers). We paired dinner with a nice bottle of Barberra as recommended by our waiter. Definitely a nice spot for a special meal.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! We enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and warm fireplace. Would highly recommend the braised beef, it was extraordinary!
