How to Plan a Trip to Paris on a Budget, According to a Local

"A charming néo‑brasserie tucked down a picturesque cobbled street off Boulevard Saint‑Germain, notable for classics like poireaux vinaigrette with toasted hazelnuts, a dining room built around a remnant of the medieval city wall, and house‑made ice cream." - Lane Nieset Lane Nieset Lane Nieset is a travel writer from Miami who has lived in France for the past decade. My favorite restaurant in Paris so far! Had lunch and dinner on separate days, and both were amazing. The lineup for no reservations is great, so you can still get in (just have to wait). They seat you upstairs, and on the main level for people with reservations. The beef tartare is the best I had, and I had it on this trip from Prague to Strasbourg / Colmar to Paris daily. The beef flank steak (with fries) was tender and flavorful. The beef bourguignon was really good. Had the catch of the day, loved the black rice with it. Dessert was delicious too, loved the Paris-Brest. The standout is their house-made foie gras! Chef’s kiss all around. We had different servers on different days and they were all very friendly and welcoming. It’s the kind of restaurant that serves the best food and serves it well, that you would return again and again. 10/10

A wonderful place for a delicious dinner! A charming location and plenty of seating both inside and outside. After arriving at 7 p.m., we got a table without a reservation after waiting 10 minutes. We tried the appetizers - leeks with interesting additions and delicious gazpacho. We really enjoyed both the vegetarian and meat dishes and will fondly remember the selection of flavors. The service was very friendly and professional, especially Liza/Riza (I'm not sure of her name).

Very classical french. Loved the decoration. We sat upstairs. It has somehow touristy wibe. French soup is one of the richest we had. We had salad and meat. Both were good. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive. Surprisingly :). Had a lovely lunch and afternoon. Thanks

I had reserved for a special occasion. I'm not sure why they ask if there's any special occasion that you're celebrating. Perhaps it is to ensure that they will sit you right by the kitchen. Food is ok but not great by Parisian standards. Top that with the service that leaves a lot to be desired... And well, this just isn't a great place. Believe me, I do not say this in an "I'm a gringo and Parisians are mean" kind of way. No. I have had great interactions in every restaurant in Paris but in this one. If your time is limited in this wonderful city, go to Le Procope instead, their service and food will not disappoint.

Great cafe at a prime location. We had a quick coffee on our way to Odetta and we sat outside sitting area. The experience was great. It’s a fantastic street with full of tiny nice shops. The interior design of the cafe is also marvellous. I recommend this cafe

We had a wonderful dinner experience. We made reservations several days in advance and even though the place was very busy, we were seated immediately. Everything was delicious, from the entrees through the plats, and ending with exceptional desserts (Paris-Brest is ultra-memorable). The steak tartare, escargot and boeuf bourguignon were the best we’ve had in Paris. Our server, Labib, was warm and properly attentive, making sure we were well taken care of. The place is beautiful and has a nice vibe. But do make a reservation because the line was very long for those without them.

A very nice restaurant with good food. If you don’t have a reservation — which usually can’t be made for the same day — you’ll have to wait in line for quite a long time to get a table… The beef tartare is excellent, as is the steak.

Our reservation was honored 30 minutes early which was perfect. Make a reservation as the line was about 20 people deep at the start of dinner service. Beautiful atmosphere both inside and out. Service was on point, attentive but not overly overbearing. Wine was enjoyable! Food however was alittle bit of a let down, everything was alittle bland, our mushroom chicken was so dry, the best part were the morel mushrooms. Snails were alright but seemed alittle light on flavor.. everything else was barely ok. Hopefully it was just what we ordered...
