How to Plan a Trip to Paris on a Budget, According to a Local

"A charming néo‑brasserie tucked down a picturesque cobbled street off Boulevard Saint‑Germain, notable for classics like poireaux vinaigrette with toasted hazelnuts, a dining room built around a remnant of the medieval city wall, and house‑made ice cream." - Lane Nieset Lane Nieset Lane Nieset is a travel writer from Miami who has lived in France for the past decade. Food was incredible. Had to queue a bit to get in but the restaurant has plenty of tables so it moved quickly. Our food took a while to arrive and flagging a waiter was sometimes challenging, they seem a bit stretched in staff but still worth it for the food. The main dishes are rather small although they also have very nice options for dessert, so it all does contribute to a well balanced menu overall. The onion soup and the dessert options were the big surprise for us. Would strongly recommend getting it as a starter.

We found this place based on the Google reviews and it did not disappoint. The difference between myself and my wife is that I only care about the food quality whereas for her it is crucial that the place has visual flair. This place satisfied both of us fully. We got lucky with our group of 8 since we queued shortly after 12 without a reservation. Later we would have not been able to get a table since it was fully packed. The food portions were on the smaller side as others already shared but the quality was amazing. I had the fish of the day which today was tuna and it was absolutely delightful. I also tried the croque Monsieur which unlike other places was not covered in cheese but taste wise it was phenomenal. I also attached a photo of the steak and fries and apparently that was to die for. So full recommendation from me!

Totally loved the food. Me and my friends tried different plates and all of us were very happy with our choices. Onion soup was very good. I tried tartare de beuf for the first time here and loved it. Snails were not on my taste based on the way they were prepared since I like better the butter garlic version, but they still taste fresh. Note: prepare to wait in the line for some time especially if you are a big group of more than 4ppl.

Brasserie des Prés in Paris feels like a lively neighborhood escape tucked into the Cour du Commerce. I tried the beef flank steak and morel mushroom chicken both had great texture and flavor without overthinking it. It can get busy, but the friendly staff ensure you don’t feel rushed. It’s a local favorite, not a tourist trap—real Parisian charm. Recommend get reservation for best seats

We just enjoyed a most pleasant and delicious dinner at Brasserie Des Pres. After waiting about 15 minutes to be seated we were rewarded with a table on the first floor between the window and the 12th century tower of Phillipe Augustus -- very cool. Antoine was our waiter and he spoke English very well. He directed us towards a very tasty chicken main course which we both thoroughly enjoyed. The Pear Belle Helene dessert was also very tasty and big enough for us to share. Antoine was always attentive and pleasant. We will definitely go back again. .

I was celebrating my birthday, the food was wonderful, classic French. The staff was friendly & wonderful; they even helped celebrate my birthday by singing to me and putting a candle in my desert. We had the escargot which was buttery and tasty, steak frites which I asked for medium and was cooked as asked, even with the "cheapest" cut of steak it was good. The bearnaise sauce was also wonderful and great to dip fries into. The desert was one of my favorites from the trip - the Paris Breast. Very flavorful and delicious. This meal felt like a bargain compared to what it was cost an American steak house. The decor was beautiful. The whole experience was a delight in the senses. Highly recommend making a reservation, there was a line to get in but with a reservation got sat right away.

What a cute place, located in a small alley dotted with restaurants and bars. The restaurant is very chic with eclectic French decor. Make sure you book otherwise the wait will be long. There are 3 floors the top is a bar. The tables are small which is common in Paris. Service was good. The escargot was okay, first time trying it I’m not sure if I love it. Then had I had tartare for main which came with salad & chips. It was delicious. I was told that the onion soup was good and the steak well cooked and seasoned.

The perfect evening with great atmosphere and location, French food and wine and service. A shout out to Munna our waiter who did an excellent job and was really friendly. We couldn’t fit in a dessert sadly. I would recommend and definitely go again.
