Brasserie Goeie Louisa

Lovely brasserie in Karol V hotel. Food was delicious, with a 5 course chefs menu coating around 60 euro. Everything was delicious, the grilled octopus was the standout for me. The steak was interesting, very tasty but also very chewy. The waiter even told us that it will be chewy. The service was excellent.

Great dining experience Dinner! Their truffle tortellini was amazing. We had a 4-course dinner and in addition to the pasta, the haddock main and Chef’s Dessert also stood out. Would happily go back

Ordered the menu of the chef, everything was tasty. Very friendly service and nice wine. Afterward, we had a drink at the fire at the bar next door. Nice experience

The food was good. Service could be better, they forgot our order. Atmosphere not quiet, very noise.

For such a prestigious location it’s a pity the food and service were below expectations. Somewhat forced into a menu for the group, which if the male server would have read the table was not what the guests were wanting. Table had to wait 15 minutes (and ask again) for an extra bottle of wine to be brought out. I got served beef which was 25% tendons that you couldn’t even cut through. When expressed to the male server the answer was something in the line of ‘O that’s not normally how we serve it’. No apology nothing… the remainder of the meal other staff got sent to our table… Disappointing culinary experience. Beautiful environment.

Nice food , service was good too , the environment is very classy and nice

I celebrated my birthday with some family over the weekend at Bistro Karel 5. The food was average and not comparable to fine dining, but the problematic table service was probably the worst offence of the night. I would expect this type of establishment to train their staff but it seems not to matter anymore - it was truly bad and embarrassing. I can not recommend this restaurant.
