"Opened in 1983 and run successfully for the next 12 years, the award-winning Restaurant Jasper helped define “New American” cuisine nationally; White eschewed French fine-dining traditions to spotlight seasonal New England cooking, offering inventive takes on fish chowder and a pan-roasted lobster that was a favorite of Julia Child. The chef’s influence earned him a James Beard Award for Best Chef: Northeast in 1991, and the restaurant closed in 1995 because White did not want to continue operating through the decade-long Big Dig construction." - Erika Adams

Paid a visit to the place today. We were the only clients at that time. Amelie was the one to take care of us. The food (ribs and duck), the booze (IPA), the dessert, the service were all great. Excellent experience, we'll return for sure.

Not much to write about here. Ordered basic fish and chips and I judge all fried food by how burnt the food looks from old oil used to cook. This wasn't bad but the place is nothing spectacular but reasonably priced. My wife ordered scallops and she said they were "diner scallops", nothing special. I would go again because the music was good and there are more selections to savor.

Excellent! Excellent! Excellent! Food was delicious (we had ribs and duck). Very good local beer. Very, very nice place! We came all the way from Montreal for a one day trip and this place made it unforgettable! Wonderful service, super nice atmosphere! Thank you ...we will be back.
