In Paris, the Château Voltaire Hotel Offers Up Timeless Charm—And Delectable Chocolate Mousse | Vogue

"Or the way the hotel’s restaurant, Brasserie Emil, has this neat trick of diffusing the light on the windows, leaving you feeling like you’re cocooned in the most heavenly glow while scarfing down a perfect scallop carpaccio and swoonsome mousse au chocolat. (Be warned: the waitstaff generously leave you, old school brasserie style, with the entire bowl, which I was ready to swipe from the table and take to my room.)" - Mark Holgate

Very bad experience and truly overrated and overpriced. Ordered a salad, got a fly in it. Didn’t say anything, then saw another one so I told the waiter. He said that he was going to ask the chef. Nothing happened. We we got the check I expected to have the salad comped or at least comped the desert we ordered, but nothing. I paid full price (32€) a salad with insects that I didn’t finish. Service is not great either. Waiters will clean other tables with vinegar with very strong smell while you’re eating. You can find nicer French brasserie in Paris that doesn’t rely on hype.

Meal was excellent. Best pomme frites in Paris. The steak was also great, cooked perfectly and a quality cut of beef. Very tender. Not trying to do too much, just high quality ingredients well executed. Steak tartare was beautiful flavor. Maybe more minced than I would like but that’s just personal preference. Ratatouille was exceptional. Wines by the glass were a great selection as well. Ambience was everything I hoped, beautiful interiors, chic decor, Parisian chic. Overall would recommend and come back again

This brasserie is my favorite place to have the best french lunch when visiting Paris. The most perfectly fresh Salade Nicoise, pommes frites avec mayonnaise and un verre de Vin Rosè. Laurent, my server, even remembered me from my last visit several months ago! Such a great experience. The restaurant is beautiful, intimate and the entire staff is super professional. I will return again next time! :)

Lovely food and great service. The tables are a little too close to each other would be my one minor point of suggestion for improvement. Otherwise, a great restaurant serving delicious food.

Brasserie l’Emil is a great little spot with a lively atmosphere and a stylish, young crowd. The ambiance is charming, and the service is friendly. The menu offers good French cuisine—well-prepared and enjoyable, though not particularly exceptional. Given the quality, the pricing feels a bit high, but the overall experience makes up for it. A solid choice if you’re looking for a trendy brasserie vibe in Paris!

Our waiter was particularly rude. Must have not liked us. Hilariously - spent 5 minutes aggressively cleaning the table while we were still seating. Food was below average for a parisian brasserie. Good fries. Lied on provenance of salmon (obviously was farm raised yet they claimed wild). Had some pork in the beef! Eid mubarak… Atmosphere dead for a saturday night.

We asked if we could be seated before our reservation time which was very late, they said they didn’t have a table available, but we could see from the bar that an entire room of the restaurant was almost empty for the hour in a half we waited, and by the time of our reservation they failed to sit us for another 20 mins after asking them multiple times.. we end up having dinner by the door of the restaurant with only another two tables with guest.. so it wasn’t the experience we were expecting for a Friday night plan. I go often to the restaurant and felt disappointed with the treatment, also the waiter insisted about tips which honestly we didn’t felt it was deserved. It cut our plans the delay, and they even fail to apologize! As a note the bar is really nice. Food is ok, service is polite but dismissive, and atmosphere we could tell it could have been nice at an earlier time but at 10:30 when we were seated the restaurant was almost empty.
