Awesome brasserie - excellent ice cream from famous berthillon brand. Excellent service which was novel for Paris. Child friendly - provided pencils and paper for my 3 year old daughter. Beautiful surroundings. Highly recommend.

We happened to walk passed this bustling restaurant and decided to eat here. Amazing service as usual and the food was amazing. What a location as well. Highly recommended!

Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and perfect location! My husband and I had lunch at Les Deux Palais and absolutely loved it. The restaurant is stunning—especially the front terrace with its clear glass ceiling that lets in so much natural light. The interior is equally beautiful, with elegant décor that adds to the overall experience. We ordered the Noix d’Entrecôte Angus and the French onion soup. The Angus steak was cooked to perfection—medium rare, just as I requested—and was incredibly flavorful. The onion soup was phenomenal, rich and comforting. Service was quick and efficient, and our waitress was genuinely friendly and welcoming. The location couldn’t be better—just a short walk (less than 3 blocks) from Notre Dame. It was quite busy when we went, clearly a popular spot, but everything still felt smooth and well-managed. Prices were very fair for the quality and location. Highly recommend this place if you’re in Paris and looking for a beautiful and delicious dining experience near major landmarks.

Google
Big shoutout to the staff—they were absolutely wonderful! So friendly and clearly passionate about their work, both in their service and how they engaged with guests. I really appreciated their warm hospitality. The escargot and onion soup were good, while the steak and pastry were just okay. For tourists, it’s a great spot to enjoy good service and a friendly atmosphere, especially with the historic Paris Conciergerie just across the street.

Google
It's my favorite place i have eaten so far in Paris. We had the Angus steak and the chicken thigh. Delicious! The waiter was so friendly and the service was as quick as we wanted. Not rushed but very attentive. We will definitely be back.

Google
There were no typical lunch set deals; only ala carte. Food was served promptly, fresh and palatable. Nice place to people-watch and to soak in the typical Parisian atmosphere. Total spent: €98

Delicious food, a great atmosphere, and a terrace that felt authentically Parisian. I loved it! Despite being in a very touristy area, the prices were affordable and the people around were really friendly.

Had time to just sit and take in my last day in Paris…chose this spot for its location and charming atmosphere. The manager is very welcoming and constantly walks around to check on the guests! He speaks multiple languages that I think I lost count! He gave me a wonderful recommendation for a cocktail. I had already eaten but didn’t feel rushed as I sat there enjoying the view with my drink. Thank u for being so welcoming :)

Yelp
Was looking for a lunch spot close to Saint Chapelle & Notre Dame and I'm happy I stopped at Les Deux Palais. The restaurant was super cute but crowded & busy. They got me a table immediately and the staff were all friendly and helpful. Had to start with a cappuccino. For lunch I ordered Cuisse de Poulet Fermier au miel et soja, frites maison which is Free-range Chicken leg in honey and soy sauce, home-made french fries. For dessert I ordered the homemade creme brûlée. I loved all the food.

Yelp
Day 2 in Paris and after standing in line for about an hour and a half hoping to get into Sainte Chapelle (we didn't) we we left defeated and hunger and came across the street to Les Deux Paris for lunch. We walked in and it seemed pretty packed but were able to get a table. I will say for sure know how to use the most of their space because they really pack you in. Since I had been standing for quite a bit I had to get a beer and Ashley and Champagne. We going over the menu I had to get my classic i always got in Paris when I was here 16 years ago. That classic being a Croque Monsieur which I probably had at least once a day then but now that I'm an adult I went with the Croque Madame. All that changes is the adding for a sunny side egg on top. Our food came out pretty quickly and my Croque Madame looked good but unfortunately it just doesn't hit like I it did when I was younger. I was still good but I feel like they only put one piece of thin sliced ham on it am I would just expect for more for the price. I also don't think it had the Béchamel on it which really enhances the flavor and richness of the sandwich. I will say fries were good and crispy which was nice. I will say still hits is the Dijon Mustard they have in Paris. It has amazing spice and really helped out with the Croque Madame. I will say it will always be a classic that you have to try when in Paris but maybe don't get on in a touristy area.

Yelp
We popped in and grabbed a couple of sandwiches to go. They were "fine" but we were disappointed when we kept walking down the street and saw much better options available. If you do stop here my wife really liked her chicken salad sandwich.

Yelp
After waiting in line for a while at Saint Chapelle across the street we stopped in for a bite to eat. I am not sure how the staff maneuvers through the restaurant so seamlessly because the tables are really packed in to the space but this allows for a very short wait time on a table which was nice. I ordered a special of a pasta dish with ham. I am pretty sure the French could put their ham on anything and I would love it! I also ordered a glass of champagne that was very nice. When I ate my lunch originally thought this was a five star meal however after eating at more restaurants in Paris I realized it was good not great. The lunch was a bit cold and it didn't have a ton of rich flavors like most of the Parisian food I had.

Yelp
Lunchtime found us somewhere between Opera Garnier and Isle de la Cité, where we planned to visit Saint-Chapelle later. We got a table at Les Deux Palais. Three of us ordered Croque Monsieur and one ordered Croque Madame. I'm sorry to say that this is one of the poorer meals that we had in Paris. The sandwich was mediocre for us. We are not big American eaters, but one paper thin slice of ham does not make a sandwich. It really had very little flavor and was not satisfying. I was glad I ordered Camembert on the side which came with a good salad. None of us were impressed. I don't need eight or even four ounces of meat on a sandwich, but this would have been a few grams at the most. I know I can't brand Les Deux Palais with this one item, but if I had occasion to return, I certainly would not order it and probably would never order one again anywhere, at least in France. I'm sure Les Deux Palais has better food than this. Three stars are for this experience.

Yelp
I tried my first escargot here and it was amazing. I came to France as a tourist and since then I tell my friends and family how delicious escargot is! My boyfriend and I enjoyed our dinner here and we had great service. There is a restroom downstairs you can use as well. There is so much to explore in Paris and this place is in a great location to do that.

Yelp
Delicious food, excellent service, a wonderful dining experience! I tried the vegetarian bowl with salmon. Excellent! The seating and windows make for beautiful dinner. I highly recommend!

Yelp
Second time here in a year and won't be back. This time the waiter was very rude to us and held a conversation about us (Americans) with the table next to us. We don't speak French but knew enough to know it was not complementary. The waiter was a middle aged guy with glasses. If you are American, I would not go here. The food was good but this restaurant is on every street corner in the area. Very unfortunate for the business to have an employee like this.
google avatar

Lily C.

Yelp
If you're in Paris for a short time, do not come here. We have been to so many restaurants light years better than this one. I fear it may be a tourist trap with a mediocre cappuccino, french onion soup was not very good, the croque mossieur was not good either. Spend your money (this place is also overpriced) elsewhere. Perhaps one of the cafes in Ru Clare. Best of luck and safe travels!!

Yelp
Loving Paris food We were early for our visit to Sainte-Chapelle because we didn't stop anyplace for breakfast. Les Duex Palais became our unplanned breakfast place when we spotted it right across the street. We were concerned it would take too long but in the end it didn't, service did good. I was the one who got a big plate of food, their Croque Madame. My granddaughter helped by eating most of the fries while I dove into the small salad and the large sandwich. It was great, and one of the meals I was hoping to have during our week visiting Paris. Our server was quite efficient and with limited English still handled additional food requests well after we had already placed our initial order. When we were ready to leave, he was right there to do the tap and pay thing, which is very convenient. We liked sitting outside just taking in the sidewalk dining experience on our first morning in Paris, loving it.

Yelp
The man who greeted us at the door was superb and super friendly. He was very knowledgeable on the wine list and made us feel at home. Our waiter was top notch. Real French service here. My meal...I ordered simple...chicken...cuisse de poulet with fries. Best chicken I've eaten in years. Fries...I couldn't stop eating them and didn't want to share with my husband ;)

Yelp
good location near by Notre Dame and delicious bistro style dishes tartare de boeuf was amazing taste for me.

Yelp
Our group of six stopped here for lunch since it is well-located near the remarkable virtual reality experience at the Notre Dame Cathedral. We had a variety of food selections, but two of them deserve special mention since they are so emblematic of French cuisine. Sadly, the secret ingredient that makes Oeufs Mayonnaise so wonderful was totally missing and rendered them the worst I have experienced in my various trips to France over a 65 year period. And that great standby of French soups, oignon gratiné had little of the golden crust on top. So basically the three stars are for what's left--the ambiance.

Drew D.

Yelp
Excellent food, great ambiance, and the staff went out of their way to cater to our toddler, bringing him candy, crayons, and pictures to color. Great spot to grab lunch.

Glenda M.

Yelp
This place looks so great from the street. We were packed into a seat like two sardines. So disappointed . Ordered Croque Monsieur for two. $15.90Euro each which is basically two thin slices bread with one slice of very thin ham and a slice of cheese on top grilled. It was very bland. The cheese barely had any taste. It is basically a grilled cheese but the other pieces of bread are just plain.??? Side of little fries which were tasty and some light greens in the side. While it was filling it felt like a rip off on the ingredients. If that wasn't bad enough a hot chocolate that we were told to try while in Paris (supposed to be fabulous) was watery and not really hot enough to sip away at it. It was $5.50 Euro! We don't mind paying for good food but the bill was expensive for the quality.... Oops, there wasn't any quality. I would NOT recommend. I don't like being taken advantage of.

Yelp
Perfect for drinks and desserts or whatever is soup of the day even light dinner on ile de la cite blocks from the seine and notre dame and saint chapelle. Very modest prices, nice outdoors (or in), a favorite break spot for perfect walks, friendly service for whatever french you know (one waitress speaks english). Sit, rest, have the chocolate royale (grand marnier) if you're in that mood!

Yelp
We came for a light dinner and desserts. Everything was amazing. Our waiter was very nice and helpful. We spoke no French and he was able to work with us. Highly recommend coming here. Very much enjoyed!

Yelp
Had a nice light lunch here on a sunny day. It is right across from ministers of justice and st. Chapel but somehow a cut above the tourist fare only 200m away. The bowl vegetarian. Right me in and did not disappoint. Chased it with a glass of white burgundy. It was expensive for what it was , and I guess that is why it was mostly French and quiet enough. I will pay for that premium though 5.2 for an expresso still irritates me a bit. Polite attentive service. I think they speak English as well but not sure

Yelp
While walking down the street we stumbled on this brassiere and decided to try it for a mid morning snack. Charcuterie and coffee. Quaint, sat outside on a covered porch, and enjoyed everything Paris streets have to offer. Great quality food! Word to the wise, if you haven't brushed up on your French, the menu and staff are hard to navigate but they very much try to understand and don't make you feel like an incompetent tourist. Caution number 2, if your wife thinks the fancy silver wrapped pieces on their boards are cheese, kindly explain that they are actually rolls of butter......lesson learned!
google avatar

Yelp
After wrapping up our visit at Saint-Chapelle, we were hungry and walked across the street for breakfast at Le Deux Palais, an elegantly designed bistro with good service and yummy eats. We both ordered the Complet breakfast with hot beverage (tea for me!), fresh orange juice, croissant, baguette with butter and jam, and fried eggs. Everything we ate was fresh and lovely - it was a great last breakfast in Paris before our trip concluded and was reasonably priced in our opinion.

Yelp
Excellent!!! Food was tasty (Ribeye, chicken leg, Croquet Madam, chicken Cesar salad, and French onion soup)! Everything was extremely flavorful! Not to mention the service!!!! Music was wonderful and just a fun experience! Guido was THE BEST waiter in the world! We had allergies in our group and the waitstaff, especially Bertrand, came to double check for our daughter's food allergies! So appreciated!!! This place is a serendipitous find! If you're around Saint Chappell or Notre Dame, stop here!!! It WILL NOT disappoint!
google avatar

Richard L.

Yelp
Right across the street from Sainte Chapelle and near the Cite metro. The food is pure perfection for a light lunch after a visit to a museum. I love Paris and the food is wonderful. They have daily specials that will delight the palate.
google avatar

Olivia P.

Yelp
Nice and quiet! The drinks are very good and not too boozy. They came with a little bowl of snacks and those were good too.
google avatar

Yelp
We stumbled upon this brassiere today, couldn't find it at first on Yelp and thought what the heck? We've been walking for miles... Lunch: wonderful ambience, we were one of the few tourists and service was great. Coq au Vin and Tart Tartin were everything I have read about and hoped they would be.

Diana M.

Yelp
After our Sainte-Chapelle tour, we stopped here for a quick bite around 5pm. This brasserie was CLEAN and classically beautiful. Wait staff friendly and charming. Please order the cheese plate with the Chantal. Two pieces/slices along with crusty baquette and a Parisienne side salad comes with it. DELICIOUS.
google avatar

Stephanie T.

Yelp
I solely chose this restaurant because 1) it was near Saint Chapelle and 2) how cute and contemporary French everything looked - which is 100% a tourist trap. The chairs, the windows, the everything. I was a hook, line, and sinker; fully enthralled by the chic decor. Cute waiter was just extra ;) He was like the cool yet adorable French guy. This place must go through hundreds of guests a day cause this waiter and staff were the quickest people ever. Running and doing everything with a swift yet cordial motion. Anyways, it was a cold day and a hot chocolate with Grand Marnier and Nutella banana crepes warmed me right up.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
We had a quick lunch right outside the exit of Sainte Chappell and the Palais de Justice de Paris on the gorgeous Boulevard du Palais. I had the Nordic salad, which is lettuce, cherry tomatoes, celeriac, cucumber, smoked salmon, toast, taramasalata, it was a good pick and was quite filling. We also had the french onion soup, which was the best we had in Paris, I assure you. The escargo was tasty and worth a try. The vegetable soup had virtually no flavor and was really a puree, I would avoid this dish. Flat soda, so watch out for that. The prices were fair. The ham and cheese sandwiches were fine. I wish we had more time at this place as it was a beautiful view and the service was welcoming, helpful and surprisingly quick. I would have tried more on the menu...:)

Rachel G.

Yelp
An absolutely incredible restaurant by Saint Chapelle. I cannot recommend this place enough! Speedy service and the best waiter I've had in my life. Offered to take photos for everyone in his section and was highly attentive, great at making everyone smile and laugh. The food was incredible. Well prepared and wonderful presentation. If you have the time, definitely stop to eat here-- both for the service and the food !
google avatar

Sugey L.

Yelp
From what I could gather, this place did not have much to offer other than location. My goal while in Paris was to order good cheese platters, onion soup and crème brulee, sadly this place didn't offer either; at least not some I would want to try. I looked at their menu and at other patron's plates and there was nothing that looked appealing to me. I settle for a beer and rested my feet for a little bit. The service was rushed and barely present, not their fault since I really couldn't bring myself to order anything. It does offer a good view of a busy Paris. I recommend sitting outside if you aren't there for the food; which I doubt you will be.
google avatar

Deana M.

Yelp
Decent food but a bit on the pricey side. Outdoor seating is available but it's also where smokers sit.
google avatar

Jessica A.

Yelp
Best Croque Madame I had in Paris -- and French Onion soup!! Granted I only had one bowl of soup and two croque madames during my stay in Paris, but Les Deux Palais was not only my favorite -- but also my friend's who was traveling with me. We actually went "off yelp" ... because we were so starved from walking around Notre Dame, Saint Chapelle, and other sights. And this was one of the first restaurants we saw -- so we gave it a whirl. And I'm SO glad we did! We originally were drawn to this restaurant by how "cute" the tables through the windows looked... but our server sat us in the very back of the restaurant, away from all the windows -- totally secluded. Kinda weird... we thought, but they were busy - - and I also learned that the window tables must only be for smokers. (Not us.) But my friend had a salad, and I splurged with the soup and Croque Madame. First of all... I swear the bread was Poilane bread..... soooooo delicious and not overpowering. The cheese... oh, the cheese!! The cheese was perfectly cooked, so that it had a wonderful slightly burnt taste -- coating the sandwich. And the egg on top was equally cooked to my perfection - - cooked enough so that the white was cooked. Again, we totally took a gamble -- as we knew this must be very touristy; but our gamble paid off! I WISH I could find a Croque Madame this good back home. Au revoir Les Deux Palais -- and Merci! :)

Yelp
The first time I ate here was in the early 2000's when French customer service was still extremely rude. I went back a few weeks ago. The service was very pleasant. The food only slightly less so.... I had raviolis, which were overly plentiful and slightly too gummy, but I was staying nearby and it was well worth not having to walk another thirty minutes to get something else to eat.
google avatar

Alan L.

Yelp
Stopped by here in the morning for a snack before some sightseeing. Nothing special about it, but the coffee and croissants are good. Service was average for Paris. You will probably run into some American tourists here. They seem to congregate in this area for some reason.
google avatar

Nika L.

Yelp
Ok so the place is in a great location right by Notre Damne and Saint Chapelle. The food is amazing, service is quick and to all "you ppl" who rate it low piss off. The French, The Germans, The Russians, have a sarcastic non chalante attitude about them, its not rude...you just have to get it. A little advice, get in on the atmosphere, the culture, etc..yes it might be abrupt for your liking, but as they say "when in Rome..." ;)
google avatar

Elyssa P.

Yelp
Completely disrespectful to Americans. We understand their culture, but they are way to obvious about their feelings towards us. The only reason this place is getting 2 stars is for the location and view. We sat outside and it was really close to the metro on the way to the Notre Dame. We had a cappuccino and a latte. They were not too bad just okay. And we shared a crape and crème brûlée. They were both nothing special. The crape was probably cooked yesterday with just a spoonful of Nutella on top, and we ordered a Nutella and banana one. The crème brûlée was just okay. Just research and go somewhere else.
google avatar

Yu H.

Yelp
Do not order crepe because it tastes bad. The service there was ok in general but I do not understand why my waiter urged me to check out, which he explained he would be busy dealing with other guests. The best thing about this cafe is it's location.

Lily B.

Yelp
For a nice, traditional petit dejeuner, this place is great. It's a convenient location near Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle. It wasn't too busy (we ate late), and it's in a reasonably quiet area, so it was really pleasant to sit outside. We went here twice for breakfast, the croissants were warm, the juice was freshly squeezed and the cafe au lait was pretty good. When I think of breakfast in Paris this is the place I'll remember for it. On the other hand, we also had a light dinner here one night and it was completely unremarkable (the omelet with mushrooms was not very good at all). Others have mentioned rude waitstaff and dirty bathrooms, but this was not my experience at all. Even with my admittedly horrible French, our waiter was very friendly. Yes, the bathrooms are lacking toilet seats, but they were very clean.
google avatar

Karen S.

Yelp
Quintessential French cafe on Ile de la Cite. Outstanding service. I had vin blanc and the warm cheese salad. It was a large portion and filled with flavor. I highly recommend it. Take your time dining! My son had the flank steak avec pomme frite. They speak English & are very kind. Waiters are classic French but not overbearing. If I return to Paris, I'll be back for sure.
google avatar

Hans G.

Yelp
We ate here on the evening of the Fourth of July after spending much of the day in the Louvre and Saturday Vigil Mass at Notre Dame. It was a pleasant walk from the latter on a warm summer evening. Our service was fine. We were seated promptly outdoors, our choice. Our waiter was polite and efficient. The food we had was good, as good as anything we had in Paris, though we didn't try anything _particularly_ upscale. We had no problem paying with a credit card. My wife had duck confit (I'm pretty sure) with a glass of house red. I had a steak in a shallot sauce and a cidre doux. The potatoes, either way we had them (see the photos) were done right and freshly prepared. The salads were colorful and fresh, with no excess of dressing. The meat was finished well, with the recognition that fire has been discovered but without attempting to use it as a torch. What is more important, it all tasted good.
google avatar

Cindy Y.

Yelp
Maybe I ordered the wrong items, but I thought this place was very average. It was a gamble to try a place right next to a tourist attraction (Notre Dame), and I wouldn't say it paid off. The food wasn't terrible, but wasn't anything to write home about either. The steak here was pretty oily and not very tasty, the bearnaise wasn't particularly good, and the salad was very average as well. Prices are fairly expensive for the overall average experience so I'd recommend a more local place that would give more bang for the buck.
google avatar

Gelareh D.

Yelp
We had dinner here by chance. While the restaurant was located in a peaceful street, our main course and service was pretty bad. We ordered entrecôte and poulet camamelise (hoping these are simple dishes). They were prepared so poorly. We ordered wine and asked for tap water but they charged us €5.80 for water! The only good thing was dessert and for that I give them one star. Our dessert was mousse au chocolat.

Yelp
Lovely French Parisian Brasserie. Good close Location not too far from Notre Dame. Portion size IndustrIal French revolution. Service was really quick, efficient from the French Garcons. Nice atmosphere, nice Menu choice and all in all a lovely setting. Our waitet was polished and efficient, well trained and polite. Kids enjoyed the menu pour Les enfants slices Of cooked ham with french fries. Simple But nice. My Entre cote was a good 350 Gm in weight and had a nice bearnaise sauce on the side.Moutarde dijon served before being requested for. This place has a nice vibe or joie de vie excuse my french.

Yelp
Stopped in after a few hours at The Louvre for something sweet and yummy about 2 hours before dinner! I forget what my husband had, but I got the creme brûlée. I had to take a picture of it fast before I ate it all. I can't speak for any other meal, but I have nothing but good things to say about this dessert!
google avatar

Zachary A.

Yelp
People say the service is bad and the menu overpriced - true. But considering your location on such a busy corner and the history of the area that's acceptable to me. They try to get modern with some free WiFi and inside super glamorous from bar to bathroom. As far as our order, we came for a late afternoon break after tourist stuff. Ordered fries, a beer and some wine. Total bill was about 25 euro so wasn't too absurd for an 8+oz wine and pint and large bowl of fries. Fries weird s they were essentially naked, so you have to spice or salt yourself. But it worked for me as they have a house wasabi mustard that was awesome. Waiter disappears and takes a while to get the bill, but he's helpful when around. Definitely better than the reviews say.
google avatar

Jou B.

Yelp
Great service and very clean with beautiful furniture, classic Paris. I had onion soup, so savory and good and the Cesar salad with came with lots of Parmigiano, chicken, and a hard boiled egg YUMM. They also serve toast with tapenade. My husband had the salmon with hericot vert and the portions are very generous! Will come again
google avatar

Tom C.

Yelp
Food was ok but very overpriced. You would expect it since it's right across from sainte chapelle. A cappuccino is 5.6 euro and French onion soup 7 euro just to give you an idea. The do have sandwiches around 5-6 euro. Service was good and the staff all spoke English.
google avatar

Jethro L.

Yelp
Listen to all the reviews....run! We made the mistake of buying the concert series combined with the dinner. What can I say...the escargot was cold, the salmon pasta was cold salmon mixed with something that tasted like canned tuna and the chicken was dry. Take a look at the pictures...they speak a thousand words. I am so disappointed they can even serve this kind of food.

Chloe J.

Yelp
Absolutely terrible service!!! Our waiter was the worst. The food was decent. The bald headed man (server #3) was disrespectful. Our drinks were maybe warm, nothing near cold. He threw his hands in the air and acted as though he just didn't care because it was blankly obvious that he did not care about us. If this were a restaurant where we determined his tip, he would be the one giving us 20 meals for free. Never dealt with such crappy service he made me sick. Oh and the bathrooms, Absolutely terrible, but at least they were better than our server. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!
