Saturday Lunch at brasserie surrealiste became a bit of a disappointment.
Entering the building you are first met with an amazing hall with big beautiful chandeliers, but sadly also an extreme smell of bioethanol from the bio fireplaces.
Next entering the restaurant restaurant, where you are met by a weird mix decor of dungeon, vampire, oldschool, animal, highgloss, - you name it - in a room that could have been absolutely perfect.
We might have missread something, but a la carte was out of the picture, and it left us with only three different dishes. I took the stew as I, as the only one, had avoided it up until this place. And I should have avoided it here also. A bland, undersaltet, oversweetend (properbly due the use of sweet carrots AND braissing in a too sweet beer) big brown mass on a plate with mediocer undersalted fries on the side. The mushroom Vol-au-vent wasn’t ny treat either; in my opinion a decent dish destroyed with truffel oil overtaking every bite.
All this while they chose to play the music at 70dB at 12:30 in the middle of the day.
The waiters and the service was very good though.
