The Best Food, Coffee, and Stalls at Queen Victoria Market, Melbourne | Eater

"A sausage-focused stall offering a wide selection of European-style grilled sausages — bratwurst, spicy bratwurst, cheese-filled varieties, weisswurst and chorizo — typically served in long crusty rolls with sauerkraut and an overwhelming array of condiments." - Tristan Lutze

The Mog Champ

The Mog Champ sends his regards. Second time having their Bratwurst for breakfast and enjoyed it just like the first. The service is really quick if you come in the morning before the crowds, it takes up to a minute to prepare. It's really good for around $10-12 depending on how many toppings you add. You receive the sausage steamy hot, perfect for a colder morning and even better if you top it up with onion and other things they offer. Thanks for the breakfast Bratwurst! Mogliest Regards, Your Mog Champ

Ordered the mild bratwurst with bun for $10. The sausage was delicious, a mix of beef and pork with a coarse, hearty texture. It’s on the saltier side, but the bun and sauerkraut help balance out the saltiness and cut through the greasiness nicely. Simple, satisfying, and full of flavour, just how a good bratwurst should be. 🌭

The Bratwurst Shop & Co. is an absolute must-visit if you’re in Melbourne’s Queen Victoria Market! The vibe is fast-paced and casual — perfect for a quick and tasty bite. I ordered the Spicy Bratwurst, and it did not disappoint. The sausage was juicy, flavorful, and had just the right level of heat. The bread was fresh, and I loved the selection of mustard sauces and toppings — I went with sauerkraut and onions, which balanced the spice really well. Staff were friendly and efficient despite the long line, and everything was cooked right in front of you on the grill, which made it even more tempting. If you’re a fan of sausages or looking for something classic and satisfying, this is definitely the place. Would happily come back to try the cheese bratwurst next time! 🌭🔥

While it may look confusing, it's quite orderly once you have time to read the boards at the back. Once you decide on your bun (or without), the first step is choose your hotdog (7 choices). Then your sauces. Finally whether you want sauerkraut. If you are so keen, you can order extra toppings for a price. Or if you are bored of traditional hotdog with bun, their chopped hotdog with curry sauce and chips is a choice. Anyhow, I absolutely loved their hotdog with bun. Freshly grilled hotdog, delicious bun, superb flavors and hot off the cooking plate, there's really not much to complain. Their seating is limited and is located outside. If the weather is cold or windy, it can get really uncomfortable. There's a linked nearby indoor space to eat at and I strongly recommend you go over, order a drink there and have a comfortable time eating this delicious hotdog.

The Bratwurst Shop & Co at Queen Victoria Market is a true institution — beloved by Melburnians and tourists alike. The queue is almost always long, but it moves quickly, and the reward is more than worth it. Every sausage is grilled to perfection, with a satisfying snap on the outside and juicy flavour within, tucked into a fresh roll and finished with your choice of mustards, sauces, and toppings. It’s hearty, affordable, and consistently delicious — proof that both locals and visitors walk away with a great deal. A Melbourne classic that never goes out of style.

If you're in the area of the Victoria Market save your appetite and get in for a brat. Fresh and delicious the Brat shop doesn't disappoint. We had a spicy brat and it was delicious. The bread was fantastic as well and really complimented the brat. Definitely give them a try.

Smoky and delicious sausages but the hall was crowded as! Definitely a touristy spot. Get in and out with your snags. There’s a great selection but can get pricey if you’re buying multiple hot dogs.

The sausage was huge and quite filling. The flavor was good, though a bit on the salty side. There was a line, but it moved quickly, so the wait wasn’t too bad. Overall, a tasty and satisfying grab-and-go bite.
