A bunch of hungry people landed in München airport, and in 15 minutes they were at the oldest beer brewery in the world. Good beer, great stories, extremely fast food service. Take a walk around, in good weather there's a great view to the Alps.

We took the RE (regional train) from the Münchner Hauptbahnhof. If you bought a city pass, it Is still within zone 1-6 and the pass covers the RE trains within Zone 6. It took us about 20 minutes to arrive. From there, it's about a 20 minute walk through the small town. There are signs to show you the way. This is an easy half day trip from Munich. Food, service, and atmosphere were all excellent as one would expect from the oldest brewery in the world (est. 1040 AD). Tip: The shirts and hats are about €5 cheaper at Getränkeshop than they are at the restaurant. The city museum (with brewing history) was closed on the day we arrived (Monday). The factory tours are only held 1 -2 times per day. I read you must make a reservation for the tour.

Had an excellent meal here. The food and drinks were excellent and the service was perfect. The history of the brewery was fascinating and I loved the location, elevated a short walk from the center of Freising. Would love to come back. Thank you!

Long walk up the mountain but very well worth it, good food, very good beer and a bustling Biergarten. There is also a bus up, then another 250m walk

Great food, decent prices. Portions are quite good. Quite lot of available parking on the lot. We visited the brewery in the Oktoberfest week 2024 on a Sunday. Got seated immediately without a reservation. The staff is very friendly and nice.

Definitely worth a visit to enjoy authentic Bavarian beer and hearty local cuisine. The service is friendly and attentive, adding to the overall welcoming atmosphere

Tipical German restaurant. Food was as expected, nothing special. They let some Brezel on the table and you definitely will try it. I thought it was a gift, but you have to pay for it. I was feeling a bit cheated after this or maybe I did not read properly the menu. Beer was great, they have multiple choices. But special ones you get from bottle even their own one.

Absolutely loved this place! The food is exceptional full of flavor, beautifully presented, and clearly made with care. The fish was perfectly cooked and fresh, a true highlight of the menu. Don’t miss the homemade strudel—warm, comforting, and the perfect way to end the meal. The live music adds a warm, vibrant touch to the atmosphere, and the staff is really friendly and attentive. Highly recommended!
