The 18 Essential London Pizzerias

"Italian and English are not so much spoken as shouted at Bravi Ragazzi. This boisterous slice of Naples isn’t for everyone and maybe that’s a lucky thing: It’s already hard enough to get a table. The rustic, leopard-spotted crust of pizza can be so light it’s a wonder it doesn’t collapse under the pressure of its moist toppings. But weightlessness in a Neapolitan pizza is a reflection of strength." - Daniel Young, James Hansen, Feroz Gajia

Best Takeaway Food in South West London During Coronavirus Stay at Home | Eater London

"It’s rumoured that the chef and owner Luca Imprudente gets water specially flown in from Naples, but holy water or no holy water — it’s still arguably one of London’s finest Neapolitan-style pizza. Made fresh to order, get perfectly charred sourdough pizza from a wood-fired oven, flatbread sandwiches and a range of Italian desserts. Pizza wise: the Margherita, Maradona, Bufalina and O Primme Ammore will make eyes roll back with delight. Takeaway and delivery on Deliveroo and Just Eat is available, and those coming in-person can have the option to eat immediately on top of a car bonnet or precariously balanced on a bike seat if too impatient and hungry before getting home" - Angela Hui

One of the best pizzas in London! Although the place is small, it’s made up for with coziness, great service and delicious food! Not to mention the mouthwatering Limoncello to finish with a bang!

Google
“A Decade Later, and Still the Best Pizza in London!” After a 10-year hiatus, I recently returned to my all-time favourite pizza spot in Streatham, and it was as if time had stood still. From the very first bite, I was transported back to exactly what I remembered: the same mouth-watering flavours, that perfect balance of ingredients, and the unmistakable quality that makes this Neapolitan pizza unforgettable. The pizza at Bravi Ragazzi is, without a doubt, the best you’ll find in London. They’ve managed to keep their standards unwaveringly high, serving up the same super-tasty, authentic pizza that had me coming back years ago. The dough is light and perfectly chewy, the sauce is rich and flavourful, and the toppings are fresh and high-quality, just as they’ve always been. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you can tell the team takes pride in every pizza they serve. The dedication to consistency and authenticity is truly remarkable, and it’s rare to find a place that can deliver the same amazing experience year after year. If you’re a pizza lover, Bravi Ragazzi is a must-visit. Nothing else in London comes close to beating it for me. Highly recommended!

Google
My husband’s favourite food is pizza, so I bought him the book Where to Eat Pizza. It contains a list of the best pizza places around the world. One of the recommendations for London was Bravi Ragazzi. Having visited, we definitely agree that Bravi Ragazzi serves some of the best and tastiest pizzas we’ve ever had.

Google
Honestly i expected more. The pizza is 14.50£ the cheapest which is enormous.. i arrived home and on the diavola there are only a few strips of salami... not even some protein on it... and full of oil which idk where from cause there is no salami at all. The dough its tasty thats why its not 1 star. Never coke back unfortunatly

Google
This is one of the best Neapolitan pizzerias I've visited in London. If you're familiar with Napoli, then every corner of this restaurant will remind you of the city and its culture. We ordered the Saltimbocca parmigiana, and the Zucca e Salsiccia pizza. Maron il gusto è 🤤😋. Bravi ragazzi!

Yelp
Nice small pizza restaurant with an amazing pizza, possibly the best one I had in London. I had a Bufala 2 (with cherry tomatoes) which was really good, with excellent dough and good toppings. It is definitely worth reaching this area of London. Service is extremely welcoming and kind.

Yelp
I love the vibe at this pizzeria! The chefs create amazing fresh pizza and the staff is absolutely incredible! I fly all the way from Los Angeles just to have a slice of this delicious pizza! Ask for Guido to serve you... he's amazing !

Yelp
I admit I totally miss neapolitan food but Bravi Ragazzi's staff made me feel home. The local is really tiny, at least 20 seats but the food quality is delicious. If you are a Londoneer and you have never been in Naples you can eat the Neapolitan pizza without moving from your country. I ate the Parmesean as a starter and it reminds me my mother's Parmesean. The pizza is really good, the dough is risen and you do not feel rich. In some Neapolitan pizzerias I have not eat this kind of pizza. Lastly the pastiera (our Easter sweet) is really tasty. While we was talking with the owner he told us he would move and he is looking for a local in the second or first zone. Indeed this local is far from the central zone, in fact from the west zone I took 2 buses and 2 metro lines. Thank God that it is far from my house otherwise I would go there for every dinner.

Yelp
Best pizza in South London!!! This tiny pizzeria in Streatham high Road (20 seats) is definitely worth the trip to South London. Pizza dough to die for, super tasty toppings ( I had the one with friarielli and Italian sausage.... Amazing!) extremely friendly and easy going staff!! Definitely to recommend! Trust me, I'm Italian ;-)

Yelp
Yep, that's it, I've come out of my 2 year yelp retirement to write about this pizzeria because I think this place is da bombbb! Forget your franco mancas (which, I'll grant you, I've never actually been to - the hype/queues alone were enough to deter me). If it's simple, authentic, Italian pizza you're after then this is your place. Unpretentious is the first word that comes to mind. Perhaps, having recently moved here from hackney, I have a heightened appreciation of these things but I felt immediately welcome and at home here. It has more of a cafe feeling than a restaurant in some ways, but don't let that put you off - they do serve alcohol! Price wise they start at about £8.50 for a pizza and are a very good size. One per person for the gluttons amongst us but for those with more modest appetites sharing with a side salad is definitely an option. In true Italian fashion, they don't go overboard on all the toppings so you come away from the meal still being able to move, too, which I appreciate. As non PC as this is to express, I did enjoy that all the waiters/waitresses were Italian, too. Made me feel like I was on holiday. Like one big Sicilian Godfather family. It's fully open plan too, so you can see the pizzas being prepared and this gives it a cosy/homely feel. If this is anything to go by, hello Streatham! The great untapped London gastro scene! Possibly. Will let you know.

Yelp
I've been wanting to come here for awhile but it's always super busy in the evening. My friend and I rocked up at around 3pm on a Sunday. No wait. I got caprese salad and eggplant Parmesan. Both were perfect and fresh. My friend got a huge pizza with fresh mozzarella. It was excellent. The server was attentive and kind. So glad to have found a fantastic place in walking distance of my flat!

Yelp
So the food itself is 5* easily but this is rated 3 due to a couple of factors. The place is tiny, I would avoid this on a Friday or Saturday night. We waited an hour for our table, okay, then another hour for food once inside, not okay. They are so busy with their delivery orders that they neglect their in-house customers. Basically the business needs to expand to meet both their Just Eat orders and in-house customers. Come on a mid-week night or lunch yes, but do the weekend on an evening at your peril.

Yelp
Incredible sourdough based pizza! This place is small, Italian owned and fantastic - really lovely, friendly staff. The pizzas are even better. Tasty ingredients and their secret weapon - their sourdough bases. These pizzas will knock your socks off - I live 5 mins walk from Bravi Ragazzi and it's all I can do not to eat here every day... Cannot recommend highly enough! Just one note, it's a small place so on a Friday/Sat night you might have to wait for a table. I suggest going for a drink in Pratts & Payne just round the corner.

Yelp
Best in the (South) West? For sure... Tasty simple and authentic pizzas coming from super friendly Neapolitans all around. The veggie and vegan choices are there. They've just changed the menu with some unexpected choices: Asiago cheese, aubergines, updates on some of the pizzas. Excellent job!

Yelp
A taste of Naples in south London. This pizza is incredible. I've made the trip to Streatham on several occasions just to get a bite of this delicious pizza. Prices approx £10-12 for a pizza

Yelp
Really good neapolitan style pizza. Staff really friendly. The local is small, around 20 seats. I gave 4* because sometimes you have too long wait for table & then for food. They do take away as well. I think if you eat in, the waiting time should be shorter.
