Where to Dine in the Berkeley Neighborhood | Eater Denver

"Approachable yet elevated cuisine is what this spot tucked in a strip mall is about. On sunny days, happy hour on the patio is a hit. The same patio turns into a cozy drinking spot around the fireplace at night. Bonus: There’s a great late-night dining menu." - Eater Staff

If you are looking for a wonderful dining experience in Banff you would be hard pressed to find a more delightful staff or delicious menu than Brazen in the centre of Banff. We arrived late this afternoon and after settling into our accommodation we happened upon Brazen and were able to get a table for two in what clearly is a very popular restaurant. Jody took our reservation with a smile and checked on us during our meal to see all was well. Michelle who looked after us during our meal was absolutrly delightful and couldn’t have done more to make our meal so memorable. Such excellent service! The menu we were advised was good for sharing and so it was. We ordered the harissa chicken and the pork short ribs, both of which were excellent and very generous servings. We accompanied these two mains with beans and potato side dishes. We were so pleased with our choices. We had no space for dessert but have made a reservation to return again during our stay and will be sure to leave space for what looked to be some excellent dessert choices. Thank you Michelle, Jody and all the kitchen team who have made our first dining experience in Banff so memorable. We look forward to returning. Be sure to make a reservation as this is a very popular restaurant.

We had one of the best meals we’ve had in a while at Brazen. Started with the pork belly and beef tartare — both were great. For mains, we shared the Arctic Char and Ginger Beef, and added the polenta fries on the side (super fun dish). Everything was delicious. Honestly, there’s nothing we wouldn’t order again. Highly recommend.

We've had a delicious brunch at Brazen, and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. I ordered the Grilled Cheese Benedict sandwich with extra smoked salmon, and it was absolutely fantastic — rich, and perfectly balanced. The portion was generous, and everything was beautifully plated. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Definitely recommend this place for brunch or dinner. We’ll be back for sure!

Google
An excellent contemporary restaurant in the heart of central Banff. The small and large sharing plates were excellent, and the variety of different flavours and dishes was really impressive. I would highly recommend the fried chicken and the beef tartare, both were excellent!

Google
Great food, great service, great experience. Their winter happy hour menu was exactly what we needed. It is literally in a print location, and outside of winter happy hour you will need a reservation. We were lucky to be maybe one of two other tables being served when we went, but summer is a different story. Well worth the visit!

🌟Are you looking for an all-around dining experience in downtown Banff? Look no further! 😊 Brazen Restaurant in downtown Banff is a MUST! Our waitress, Erin was absolutely lovely and Chef Wes Kruiswijk not only prepared delectable and savory meals, but presented them beautifully. He personally helped to deliver to our table. Wes was so kind as well. Thank you for an incredible experience! 👏🏼 Bravo

Bibi was an amazing server and made our experience so great! She was so sweet and got everything exactly right. Not only was the service phenomenal, the food itself was to die for! It was so delicious, I had to stop myself from going for seconds! The espresso martini is the I’ve ever had! Would definitely recommend !!

Google
Went for brunch and they have a variety of options definitely more on the expensive side, but nothing outrageous. We had the chicken sandwich and classic breakfast. The Bread that came with the breakfast was absolutely delicious and the serving sizes were perfect. Staff wasn’t super attentive; but we did have some special requests with our meal and they were happy to accommodate. Would love to come back and try their dinner menu.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal here last night. We shared four items, a 'small plate', a large plate, and two accompaniments. Each one was unique and nicely presented. We got bison kofta with a Zatar yogurt sauce, pickled onions, pita bread and couscous. The large plate was the mushroom tagliatelle. And the accompaniments were green beans and corn made the ways. The mushroom pasta was soooooo delicious. Ok I'm a mushroom fan. I think there were more mushrooms than pasta in the dish. It had a light sauce to hold it together. To die for. The corn dish was so unique we had to try it. Polenta 'fries', fresh corn kernels, and, wait for it, pop corn. Yup. And it was delicious together. Finally, we had some unique and fun cocktails as well. Overall a fabulous dining experience.

Yelp
A 5pm dinner reservation meant we were there in time for happy hour! It also meant the restaurant wasn't very crowded, which was a nice change because we found everything to be pretty crowded in Banff this time of year. We had spoken to some lovely ladies on the bus from the Fairmont to town about their dinner at Brazen the night before. They told us the ginger beef was very tasty, but also very large. We decided to share that along with an order of mushroom toast. And some drinks from the happy hour menu of course. Both plates were really good and complimented each other well. They lit the beef on fire, which was also a nice touch. We found everyone we met in Banff to be super friendly and the staff here was no exception. We skipped out on dessert, although the menu looked tasty, and opted to get in the line (again crowds) for ice cream at Cows next door. Overall, a great first dinner in Banff. I did notice they had a lovely brunch menu as well. We were lucky to get complimentary breakfast at our hotel so never ate brunch out, but good to know for the future.

Yelp
Avocado toast was delicious. Two pieces of Sourdough toast with an avocado spread plus sliced fresh avocado with two poached eggs, a dollop of goat cheese, arugula, cherry tomatoes, pickled onion, and pomegranate seeds on top. I would eat here again. Atmosphere is casual and pleasant. Music is playing through the speakers. Service was great. Staff is very pleasant.

Yelp
The interior of this place is well designed and looks very nice. When we went here for lunch on a Saturday, it wasn't very packed - which was surprising given it's a tourist town. But also it was lightly raining at the time we went, so maybe everyone was hiding. Anyways, the food here was AMAZING! It was well beyond my expectations. I ordered the fried chicken Caesar sandwich and it was really good. The breading was perfectly crisp, and the Caesar salad mix on top of it was delicious. I think I could've eaten two of those. We also ordered the banana bread French toast to share and it wasn't too sweet or drenched in sauce. My friends really enjoyed their entrees as well. I was thinking maybe we were just really hungry after a hike, but actually no, the food here was just that good. I will have to give it four stars though because the wait time for the food was a little too long. I think we waited 20-30 minutes for the food to be served after ordering, which was odd given there weren't too many other parties aside from us. If I'm in Banff again in the future, I'd definitely eat here again.

Yelp
Treated to ourselves at Brazen! Had special cocktails. (Our waiter, Mitch was very good at his job!). Next, appetizer- focaccia bread & Herb butter. And for our entree, husband & I split Ginger beef, (they light it on fire at your table!). Added a side of Parmesan potatoes! All was very tasty! This was our last night in Banff. Can't wait to come back- such a beautiful place with lots of friendly people & fun things to explore!!

Yelp
The food tastes really good. I recommend the ginger beef and stuffed mushrooms! These were my favorite dishes here. They even perform a fire show for the dish. Drinks were also really good. The service is fast considering how busy they were. Food came out in a timely manner. It's very clean inside. There is paid parking behind the building. It's located under a hotel building.

Yelp
Stellar brunch right in the middle of town! We had a great view of the mountains and downtown Banff from our table. The shaft cocktail here was the best we tried around town, and so artsy! I enjoyed my breakfast thoroughly - the poached eggs were cooked perfectly and the ham to potato to bread ratio was perfect. I also enjoyed the Banff coffee roasters coffee! Our waitress was so kind and social, making for a delightful first morning in Banff :)

Yelp
Brazen is centrally located in downtown Banff. We went for brunch, and were seated immediately. The service at was wonderful; our waiter was very kind, attentive, and provided thoughtful menu recommendations. Brazen offered a variety of menu options for brunch; my partner ordered advocacy toast and I ordered poached eggs with a tomato sauce and side of potatoes. The tomatoes sauce was a unique addition to the poached eggs, and I thought it was quite enjoyable. The inside had a moody, mid century modern vibe, with plenty of seating. Would definitely recommend!

Yelp
So many restaurants in Banff - Brazen delivers! We were lucky to score a table with a window overlooking the city streets which is delightful (and lucky) - request it! Service and food were impressive - I would definitely return. (Dinner with adult beverages ran $189 CD/$138 US).

Yelp
One of the best food I had I Banff. We had the ginger beef, harissa chicken, coquette, bison. Staff was friendly and I had a laugh when the bill came with the label "The Damage"

Yelp
A review is long overdue for this restaurant. I visited Brazen back in July of this year but never got a chance to post the review. Brazen is located in downtown Banff which makes this restaurant the perfect place to visit when you are in town. We made reservations about 2 weeks in advance since we heard that they do get really busy especially during peak travel season. Inside the restaurant felt really high end and modern. The host was friendly and asked where we preferred to be seated and the servers were very attentive throughout the meal. My party of 4 order a couple items off their menu and the food pretty good. Brazen is definitely one of the top restaurants we visited during our travels. Our table favorite was the bison! Super tender, perfectly cooked, and pairs wonderfully with the curry corn purée. We wanted to licked the dish clean. The chirpy chicken came in second. We were a bit disappointed with the ginger beef since other reviews seem to rave about it. Ginger taste was definitely strong and the shishito peppers had a bitter taste. The other dishes were delicious but didn't blow my mind away. Overall, I would visit Brazen again when I'm in Banff again. Highly recommend if you are trying to find a solid restaurant in the area.

Yelp
Brazen is an excellent restaurant with a nice vibe and flavorful, delicious, and beautifully presented servings. They have smaller and larger plates and the idea is to share them family style here and that was perfect for our party of 3. We learned during our trip that our nephew was coincidentally also vacationing and staying in Banff and though we had different touristy daytime itineraries we met up with him for both of our nice Banff dinners. In a popular tourist town like Banff, I would recommend making reservations for prime time at any of the nicer restaurants and that is what I did. Sophie was our server and Mitch was the host manager and they were both very friendly and attentive folks. Sophie hailed from England and you could tell from her nice accent. We ordered 3 smaller plates - mushroom caps, bison, and pork belly. We also ordered 2 larger plates - their sablefish and ginger beef, and a side of snap peas. All were tip top delicious and beautiful to boot. I also had a delectable Canmore Brewing Ten Peaks pale ale. The dining room was vibrant and deservedly packed and we had a wonderful dinner. Thank you!

Yelp
Went for happy hour. Menu for happy hour is limited and I wouldn't say the food options were preferred by our group. They are very unique which is awesome but not for everyone. We had a reservation but there was absolutely no one there when we got there! The waitress was so kind and attentive.
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
This was the first place we came on after we parked in the public lot behind it. I liked the menu so we gave it a try and we loved it. The dining room was very cozy, the waiter was very friendly (I found most of the people in Canada to be friendly). We ordered breakfast - I had the Grilled Cheese Benedict and my partner had the fried chicken sandwich. The food was excellent, if i I go back to Banff, we will definitely go back to this place.
google avatar

Melanie N.

Yelp
Food was great!! Stuffed mushrooms were good, can't really tell there is prawns in them though. French onion mac and cheese was yummy and a fair portion size for sharing. Ginger beef was flavorful and had enough pieces for sharing for a party of 4. The baby back ribs were the best out of everything we ordered! So juicy and flavorful, and I've never had tzatziki sauce w ribs, but it paired very well! Ambiance was nice and modern/upscale; moderately busy when we came for Valentine's day dinner, luckily we were able to score a reservation by calling a few days prior. Service was quick and attentive, our server was also very nice and accommodating.
google avatar

Lisa P.

Yelp
Came here on a whim as a recommendation from a friend and Food and service were absolutely wonderful!! One of my favorite meals of the week!
google avatar

Bryan V.

Yelp
The kimchi meatballs here were quite large and saucy. The meatballs were moist and you could definitely detect the kimchi flavor. The accompanying bread was fresh and paired well with the meatballs. The ginger beef was visually stunning and very tender. It was slightly sweet and the shishito peppers were a nice addition to the dish. We also got a salad that was just okay. The grapes didn't really fit into the dish and we felt there was a missing element to make the salad really stand out.

Yelp
Grilled cheese egg benedict w smoked salmon: 5/5! It might not be the typical egg benedict we usually had but the tomato basil jam went really well with the grilled cheese and poached egg. It's very flavorful. Combination w smoked salmon was another plus. The house potato going w the dish was very good. Crispy and rich. Turkish eggs: 3.5-4/5. The yogurt dill sauce is very refreshing. I haven't had this dish elsewhere so I don't know what's good is like. I would say it's quite palatable. Not a big fan of lamb sausage and I don't think it fits well w the lightness and refreshness of the turkish egg. Cream brulee: 4.5/5. The most creative cream brulee I have had. I actually am very happy whenever the chef is creative. Its concept is similar to an ashtray. There was crispy chocolate flake to eat w the cream brulee below. The caramel was not bitter at all. I minus one star only because the base was a bit sweet for my taste but overall, I enjoy all the bites.

Yelp
Hands down probably the best meal we had in the Banff area. Based on the menu and reviews I knew it would be good but Brazen hit it out of the park! I was in town celebrating my birthday dinner and wanted something fun yet sophisticated and this delivered! We ordered a bunch of tapas to share and never made it to mains, but im not upset about it! We had the pork belly, glazed and cooked to perfection, not the mention the carrot ginger puree it is on top of...SO GOOD! The stuffed mushrooms might have been the best I have ever had. Rich umami filling with a crunchy topping of wasabi peas. The tuna was cooked to perfection and paired with a wasabi foam. The potatoes are to die for. Crispy and topped with confit garlic and truffle butter! Sign me up! The lobster dip was our least favorite mostly because it wasn't a dip... it was hard to scoop and wasn't really bind together by anything. I think it was just because everything else was so stellar! The desserts were nothing what we expected and were so whimsical. The strawberry fields was light and airy and clearly made with fresh strawberries. The crème brûlée was so creamy and rich with the subtle taste of coffee flavor. The presentation was quite interesting in an astray with two chocolate dipped cigarettes. The drinks are also phenomenal! Im anything but a gin drinker and the Garden Tea Party is not only the prettiest drink it's delicious! The staff were absolutely lovely. They accommodated for a food allergy and were sure to inform of us anything with gluten so our friend could avoid it. Overall, would absolutely recommend as a must try for Banff eats!

Yelp
Our server was so kind. I think his name was Yuv? He explained everything and gave great recommendations. The fried harissa chicken was a stand out. Perfectly fried. Not too spicy but had the Thai chilis on the side. The pork belly was amazing. The potatoes had a honey butter and were much sweeter than I expected but still tasty. We took home leftovers after ordering a large plate, small plate and enhancement for 2 people. It was nicely decorated and had a relaxed more upscale nicer vibe for the area but lots of guests were dressed down.

Yelp
Pros: Great location in downtown Banff Service was fast and friendly Many wonderful menu options that are incredibly unique and so delicious Tons of cocktail choices - I enjoyed the Pina colada Beautiful interior ambiance The smoked striploin was the star of the show - cooked perfectly and seasoned well. The presentation was a nice touch too! Ramen eggs had a nice, unexpected flavor The lobster dip was a wonderful appetizer as well - a nice blend of creamy/crunchy Cons: Wish the snap peas were served warm instead of chilled Pro tip: When I reviewed the menu before visiting, I wasn't sure what to expect since the dishes seemed "outside the norm". I was presently surprised and loved the creativity of the flavors. Definitely worth a visit if you are in town!

Yelp
This place has a nice ambiance and decor and it's a good place to meet other friends and family for lunch or dinner. The servers are pleasant and can help you pick out the best dish for you. The food is a bit on the heavier side and tasty although a bit strong in my opinion. The price per person is higher and you should expect to pay more. The menu options are shorter than other restaurants. I left a copy of the more recent menu. I believe the menu changes throughout the year since I saw a different one posted on Yelp. I didn't even know a hotel was attached to the restaurant until walked around. The bathrooms are just outside the restaurant in the hotel area in the downstairs area. It is still good food to try out if you want something different. If you find this information interesting, please hit the thumb up below. Swipe left and right to see my other reviews and pictures. Hit the thumbs up if you like them. I post only a few pictures for each review so you don't waste time seeing too many pictures.

Yelp
The food was the best I've had in my whole life! The pork belly was so light and perfectly fried. The ambiance was very nice. You could see the mountains outside of the window. And service was friendly.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice casual place to grab a bite. It is right a long the main road in downtown Banff. Came here two days in a row on my vacation, mostly because of the French toast. One of the best i've ever had. Prices are very fair and service was top notch during both visits!
google avatar

Anh N.

Yelp
Get the truffle potatoes for brunch, they're worth it lol. I also really liked the French toast that we got for the table! The parfait is actually made with coconut chia rather than yogurt, so it's a bit of a different taste, just a heads up!
google avatar

Yelp
My friends and I came here for a late dinner after hiking and Brazen definitely hit the spot. We were lucky enough to snag a table with a minimal wait but would recommend making a reservation for prime dinner time. Brazen is located on Banff Ave which is the main road for the town and the interior was very classy with amazing service. We started off with the duck croquette and lobster dip, both were raved about by our table. The aioli was curated to the perfect taste and the croquette was not too heavy. For my entree I got the ginger beef and they even flambe it table side (highly unexpected) to help the meat caramelize and the texture was amazing. I paired with a rum mule and their cocktail game was on point too. Overall would recommend for a fancier meal when you are in town!
google avatar

Victoria N.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the ambiance and vibe at Brazen. The service was great and quick. The highlight of my meal was the ginger beef--definitely a must-try!

Yelp
Reservations, nice decorations, a little noisy, unique menu with old world fares, a mixed bag Ukrainian, Hungary, Japanese, Thai, who know what. Served local draft beers, sweet dessert, Wednesday date night menu, everything is really small and some are not in the menu- even the menu changed quite often. The truffled potatoes are quite good and tasty. The winter salad with ginger is a fusion spin. Even the ginger beef which is the most popular with flambé show at the table is overwhelmed with brandy and sweet teriyaki ginger sauce, but the meat is tender. The tiny brownie with miso is questionably interesting but end the night safely Our server is Cate, very attentive and quite friendly to chat to. Quick and attentive service. Small portion for the price but quality counts if you're into this fusion cooking. Recommended.
google avatar

Kara S.

Yelp
Booked this place through open table reservation. Basically saw the French onion Mac and cheese, and had to come try it. The top layer was crunch and delicious, but under that was not good. Not much flavor and hardly any cheese. I was a little disappointed! But the side of truffle potatoes was amazing!! The check came in a cute little "the damage" envelope. Such an adorable touch!! Our service was great and gave some fun recommendations for while we were in town.
google avatar

Warren T.

Yelp
This was hands down the best venue for libations I've been to this past year, including in Los Angeles. Located right at the heart of Downtown Banff, the joint boasts classy jazz vibes and an elegant ambiance. The cocktails here absolutely killed it. I ordered the Lavender Sour, a cocktail with an aromatic airy texture. It had unique flavors of lavender, plum and butterfly pea that I haven't experienced anywhere else. I highly recommend it here if you are in town looking for drinks. And I say this after going to 3 other Banff breweries and restaurants that serve alcohol.

Yelp
From start to finish, a spectacular dinner that blew me away. I will FOR SURE come back and recommend this place to anyone. Service and attention to detail were great and I couldn't have asked for any more. Negroni: Get! For sure one of the best negronis I've ever had. Perfectly balanced with the right amounts of sweetness, effervescence, and bite. The added chili was such an interesting touch and gave it great personality Beef Tartare: Get! Just another perfect combination of the clean, fresh, and very tender meat mixed with the creamy and also fresh sauce. Add some great bite and acidity with the picked onions on top of a fluffy and savory potato skin and oh you have an amazing symphony of flavors playing out in your mouth that just make you want to close your eyes in order to savor the moment. Bison: Skip Although I enjoyed this dish, I think the main downfall was having this follow the spectacular beef tartare. The bison was cooked very well but it wasn't as composed of a dish with all the playful flavors and notes. Potatoes: YOU HAVE TO GET THIS! These are BY FAR the more crispy and fluffy potatoes I've EVER had. And I order potatoes at nicer restaurants A LOT. When you take your first bite it's like you're unlocking through the most delicately crisped skin and then enter the infinitely creamy and soft insides. It feels like you're just eating buttery air and it's unbelievable. Just a tad bit of sweetness and a tad bit of truffle and oh boy you've achieved nirvana and the meaning of life makes sense again Beet Salad: Get Another very composed dish. The clean juicy freshness of the beets with a good crunch and texture of the nuts, topped with the bright and acidic notes of the sauce will transport you back to better days Fried Halloumi: Skip Unfortunately, a perfect score would have been too perfect and this dish fell quite short from the caliber of the other ones. Very one dimensional in my opinion. Creme Brulee: Get Beware, this is mostly to share!...as it's quite large. So creamy and gooey and a fun way to end the night with this literal ashtray depicted dessert. Although, I'm more curious now as to how the pavlova would have tasted. Food: 10/10 Service: 9/10 Atmosphere: 9/10 Value: 9/10

Yelp
The food was very good. It was well decorated, and the waiters were extremely nice. The menu selection was also very innovative

Yelp
Visited Brazen during pride week and loved their brunch and feature cocktail! Server was attentive, food was delicious and creative. Too bad we were only in the area for 2 days! Highly recommend this restaurant!

Yelp
Pricey for breakfast but it was superb food Our waitress was very attentive and sweet from Australia the views out the window were of the street so we watched the goings on We ate relaxed and not rushed

Yelp
We were visiting Banff for our 33rd anniversary. We've had some not so great experiences with our menu choices over the years, including this trip (Fairmont Hot Springs). After reading several reviews at different restaurants, we decided to give Brazen a chance. We were very satisfied with the food and service!
google avatar

Sara D.

Yelp
As a gluten free girly, this place hit the spot! The staff was friendly, the vibe was relaxed and felt upscale. We tried a few of small happy hour dishes, the steak and the fried chicken Caesar salad. I'd love to eat here again!
google avatar

Leticia G.

Yelp
The food was good. It was last minute and happy to have found this place. I would love to come back and visit when I'm in banff again
google avatar

Yelp
Came in for lunch. Beer selection was fine. Food was good. Had the steak and potatoes. The steak was cooked medium rare, it wasn't perfect but good enough. Potatoes were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Seasoned correctly. The service was excellent and attentive.

Yelp
Brazen is an great restaurant with a great vibe and amazing atmosphere. There service was excellent. The waiter that we had was knowledgeable of the menu items and was very personable, would recommend dishes on what we regularly enjoy eating. Drinks were good and reasonably priced. Food portions were awesome and great tasting. We got the Ginger Beef and Harissa Chicken, which could have easily been shared between four people. I would highly recommend this restaurant to someone that likes a good time. I will highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that travels to Banff.

Katie K.

Yelp
This was my favorite meal in Banff! We had the truffle potatoes, cauliflower, ginger beef and pork belly. Everything was delicious! Drinks were amazing too. I'll be thinking about this meal for a long time.
google avatar

Yelp
My wife & I stopped in to Brazen for brunch. We got the turkish eggs and the avocado toast to share. The food was excellent, and service was fine - conveniently located as well.
google avatar

Kimberly W.

Yelp
I fell in love with the veggies here, and I think the chef is a wonderful creative genius, but the service, too, is extraordinary. Our server explained everything, was kind and patient when we couldn't make up our minds as to what we wanted, and overall made my mother and I incredibly comfortable. What we had-- tapas-style small bites: (1) mouthwateringly crisp, sweet snap peas with acid and contrastingly spicy wasabi peas, with cashew mousse to give it all contrast (2) Fried artichoke hearts -- light, fluffy, AND flavorful with dill pickle, smoked tofu, and cashew mousse. Whoever would have thought of that? (3) Mushroom caps-- so much umami. There was what I think was goat cheese, shrimp, miso and more wasabi peas. (4) Lobster "dip" -- a tartine of lobster, basically, with crispy wontons to add crunch. This place is amazing. What are you waiting for? Go!
google avatar

Christina L.

Yelp
Only got the dessert and drinks by the bar. We got the crème brûlée which mimicked the ash tray and white chocolate cigarettes, I appreciate the fun presentation. The crème had hit of coffee flavor which was different from the "normal" crème brûlée. I wanted to try the Caesar cocktail drink before we left Canada. A Caesar (also known as a Bloody Caesar) is a cocktail created and consumed primarily in Canada. It typically contains vodka, tomato juice and clam broth (Clamato), hot sauce, and Worcestershire sauce, and is served with ice in a large, celery salt-rimmed glass, typically garnished with a stalk of celery and wedge of lime. What distinguishes it from a Bloody Mary is the inclusion of clam broth. I liked the substitute of pickled asparagus in my drink. I think the clam broth gives more depth to the drink and I much prefer the Caesar drink compared to the Bloody Mary. Our server was friendly and attentive. The ambience was lively and busy for dinner.

Yelp
My husband and I came in for brunch and had a nice meal. He got a grilled cheese benedict. I got a Korean fried chicken sandwich. Both came with a side of breakfast potatoes. So I got the regular potatoes and he got the upgraded ones and it is better to do the upgrade for sure. The regular ones were okay. The fried chicken sandwich was good but nothing terribly special. I definitely enjoyed it.

Yelp
Great place to grab a nice dinner in banff. The ambiance is perfect for date night. Service was a little slow but the staff was exceptional. The ginger beef was delicious and loved that they light it up at the table. The bison skewers were excellent. Drinks were great too. I knocked off a star because the chicken was dry in the dish we ordered.
google avatar

ElizaRose A.

Yelp
The food and the service was really good. I had a breakfast plate and it was delicious. If in Banff, I will dine here again.
google avatar

Katherine C.

Yelp
Food was phenomenal. Everything we ordered was delicious. The salted cod was perfectly crispy and flavorful. The chimmichuri lamb chops were perfectly cooked. The Ginger beef was delicious/flavorful and I loved the flambé. Service was amazing. Issak was our waiter and he was super attentive, very helpful with any questions we had about the dishes, very courteous, and made our dinner at Brazen even better. Would highly recommend this restaurant and I would definitely come again to try more dishes

Yelp
Brazen was a delightful surprise during my recent trip to Banff. I did not expect to be so taken by a hotel restaurant, but Brazen brought the WOW factor while still keeping in line with the rustic, Canadian Rockies feel of Banff Ave. The cocktails are super fun and imaginative. I had the tea party cocktail that comes to the table with blue cotton candy in a glass. Then the liquids are poured over to dissolve the candy. It sounds like a sweet cocktail, but thank goodness it wasn't too sweet -- it was delicious. We tried a lot of great dishes, but my favorites were the Ginger Beef (smoked tableside), Mushroom Ravioli, and the Green Tea Mussels. Dessert is also a fun play and unexpected. Think creme brulee that looks like an ash tray, and deconstructed cheesecake. We came back for breakfast the next morning and had more enjoyable food! If you're visiting Banff, I found that the servers were very knowledgeable about the town's history and very helpful with recommendations for things to do in the area. Brazen is located in the Mount Royal Hotel right in the heart of downtown Banff. It's not often that I am impressed by a hotel restaurant, but Brazen is definitely worth a visit if you are in Banff!
