My daughter and I visited Chicago and came to this place for dinner tonight. We were greeted by a gentleman who was so polite and was willing to answer any questions we had. We ordered their house special and it was so good. Food quality was also very good and the cooing was delicious. Highly recommend everyone to try this place.

Delicious food! The vegetarian bowls are fantastic, I loved the tempeh. Full of flavor and color, portions are generous. The Acai bowls were also delicious. And you have to try the cheese bread, it won't disappoint. Highly recomended.

We were enlisted be a street sign out side of the restaurant of their signature dish, Picanha (beef sirloin cap). We ordered ours medium at the counter and it was brought to our table. However it was nothing like the picture on the street sign. Don't get me wrong it was delicious, perfectly cooked, and nicely charred. Just different presentation then what was advertised. This was quality steak at a storefront restaurant in East Lakeview. The Chicken Catupiry pizza sounds interesting for a return trip.

Amazing Brazilian food in Chicago! 🇧🇷 The atmosphere really feels like Brazil and the food was incredible. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and full of flavor. The service was also great and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. If you’re visiting Chicago and want to experience authentic Brazilian food, this place is definitely worth it. I had a great time here and I will definitely come back next time I’m in the city!

I don’t know why I waited so long to try this restaurant. It was a beautiful sunny day and I decided to take a walk to find lunch. I almost went to Chicken Hut. Nothing against Chicken Hut < I eat there quite a bit. Though I am glad I stopped in Brazilian Bowl The cashier was friendly, the cook/manager/owner bought out my food and was so pleasant. I couldn’t decide on either bowl, or burrito, and the cashier was not dismissive or perturbed when I asked her suggestions. So many other places are. So I got a bowl, with a side of tortilla, and a Mexican coke Delicious, and a good amount of food. So I paced myself to finish the entire meal.

The Feijoada was very very delicious, and the Coxinha OMG 🤤😋. I really recommend enjoy this restaurant in Chicago. The taste is absolutely divine. The Mouse de Maracujá is perfect 😋!

I lost count on how many times I have ordered from this place. They have been great until I placed an Uber Eats order #527E1and they didn’t follow instructions. I couldn’t eat the bowls because they added ingredients I don’t eat and ended up wasting my money. Disappointed.

I've moved away from the area and I miss having this place nearby. I always eat there when I'm in town. Not only is the food delicious, but the people who work there are always friendly and generous. They're eager to bring Brazilian food and culture to the community and my taste buds are grateful

I recommend this spot to anyone who wants a smoothie or chicken bowl. The chicken bowls are fresh and tender, the rice is cooked perfectly. The acai bowls are well portioned, and the cooks are quite generous with the toppings! First time trying this place and it did not disappoint! Super cute inside with a little area to buy Brazilian delicacies. Ordered take out and everything came out hot! Staff was super nice and provided plenty of sauces. The picahna steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and fare exceeded my expectations for a casual restaurant like this! The apps we tried were also so flavorful. The whole meal transported me back to meals at my childhood friend's house; her mom was from Brazil and made the best food! Must try!

I've been here probably 100 times over the last seven years and their food's been consistently excellent. One of my stand-by comfort food spots in the area, it always hits the spot.

The Amazon smoothie is pretty yummy. Can't go wrong with acai, blueberry, coconut milk, and honey. Do note that the acai came from a frozen rectangular package. The blueberries were fresh though. Rather overpriced ($11+ after tax for 16 oz), but it hits the spot. A bit of a wait, but they make lots of food here, so probably just depends on how many people ordered ahead of you. Seems small on the inside, but the place is actually pretty long and there are a good amount of seats.

Super good Brazilian food! We had stroganoff, faswada (sp?), some fried chicken balls, empanada things, and a cheesy bread - sorry I don't know the real names better. It was all so delicious! Brigaderros were great too! My mother in law goes here as much as she can when visiting Chicago!

If I had the money I would be here every night scarfing down their acia bowl... i'm weirdly obsessed.

Great smoothies. We tried the Blue Moon, Amazon and Carnival. While the heavy use of Acia made them all have a similar flavor, everyone really enjoyed them. Counter service was quick and kind.

What a fun dose of kismet Brazilian Bowl was this past weekend! We had so much fun checking out the menu for a mid-afternoon snack after a long walk. We walked in and originally just wanted to get smoothies, but we ended up staying for the guava and cheese empanada! I am always a sucker for a quality empanada and this was no exception! Blue Moon Smoothie - mango, pineapple, blueberry, coconut milk, and honey - $8.95 Berry Lava Smoothie - strawberry, blueberry, passionfruit juice - $9.95 Guava & Cheese Empanada - $3.95 The service was great and there's plenty of seating inside. Plus TONS of Brazilian snacks! I cannot recommend this place more!

My wife is Brazilian and we discovered this place while on vacation. The food is so genuine and the quality is amazing, plus the portions very generous. Maria was very friendly (and spoke English and Portuguese to us). Cannot recommend it highly enough!

Fast casual pace for good brazilian food. Had empanadas which were really good. All fresh baked. Inside was clean and basic. There's also outdoor seating.

This was a really disappointing experience. I was thrilled to see Brazilian food come up in Chicago. The cuisine needs more attention besides just steakhouses so as someone who's lived in Brazil and has Brazilian family members, I was so excited to see something so centered on the more regular dishes actual people from the country eat like rice, beans, salads, pasteis etc. So I'm giving it two stars for existing because it's great there are options. HOWEVER, this food was not good. The plantains were hard and cold. The vegan bowl came with veggie meat which I was so excited about, but it was AWFUL. It was cold and mushy, so I literally picked it out. I'm not picky with veg meats and this was among the worst I've ever had. Some of the veggies in it also tasted rotten and the beans were somehow mealy and slimy all at once. The hearts of palm pastel was something I was SO pumped to try and it was just flavorless and really hard - like it was previously frozen or something. I tossed the pao de quejo because they were rubbery and squished and cold. I also had passion fruit juice that was WAYYYYYY too sweet and syrupy. Nothing was good and it was just upsetting. I hope it was an off night because cities need more of a Brazilian food scene.

Super fresh, and everything felt as if it was sourced organically. You do not get that feeling that you ate a ton of salt after eating here. Recommend!

Don't fool your customers! I ordered the bean stew. A Brazilian friend recommended saying that the stew comes with a lot of Brazilian sausages, cured loin, etc. The first thing that caught my attention was the "kale" they were adding in the blender to prepare a smoothie. The cashier was grabbing it from a produce box of collard greens. Collard greens cost 1/4 of the price of kale. I asked the cashier about the "kale" they use, and she told me that in Brazil kale is collard greens. The bean stew was horrible, and the meats were some kielbasa and gypsy ham. Horrible loud music is another con.

What is wrong with me? Sometimes I feel like "hey. I know what's up. I go places. I try things. I experiment. I can tie my shoes." And other times you might be surprised I'm actually tying my shoes. Eating at Brazilian Bowls is an example of the latter. Because it's been around for what (checks notes. Realizes I have no notes. Makes something up) for like 8 years already? I don't think I've eaten their once. But now? We finally went a couple weeks ago. And now I'm obsessed. My meal was delicious! These chicken wings I got are fried so crispy and wonderful. There's so many sauces and things I want to try. I can't wait to get this in the regular rotation. Meal was ready as promised from one of those delivery apps. And I friggin loved it.

A blessing and a curse being right next to the gym (but mostly a blessing :P ) I get tempted to stop by every time I work out due to the yummy smells drifting from here, but so far have been in twice. Ambiance: Closed for indoor dining, which is fine. They look like they do mostly take out anyways since the space is so small. Last time I checked they had two tables outside. Service: The guys are friendly and work fast and efficiently to get the orders out. Food: First time I got the chicken bowl with everything on it. It's similar to Chipotle's bowls but bigger and better, IMO. The mushroom sauce is key. The second time I had mini chicken pot pies. They were under the empanada section so I wasn't sure if they're more pot pie or empanada; def more pot pie. Buttery crust but I probably wouldn't get it again. Both times I had the Ipanema smoothie with whey protein. Please put the whole scoop of protein! At least half! I saw they just sprinkled it on there. The mix of fruits and veggie in this one is good though. See ya guys another time cause I'm coming back!

Brazilian bowl is like a Brazilian version of chipotle and I love it. I order the Feijoada- it was my first time trying it and I highly recommend it. It was so flavorful and hearty that I can eat it every week. Although the food was great, I deducted stars because I found things that looked like plastic in my smoothie. By the time I noticed, I'd already left the store. My friend got a smoothie too but his was fine. I found multiple of these small shreds in my smoothie and just spit them out after taking a sip. Does anyone know what these are?

Brazilian Bowl keeps cooking up great eats. I just had their Chicken Bowl and no joke, my soul feels warmer. I was greeted promptly and my food came out quickly.

I was confused on the part whether I had to sit down to get my order taken, but I ended up having to go over to the counter to get my order taken. I ordered a burrito that I didn't quite enjoy because it was wrapped in aluminum foil and they cut it down in half so there was aluminum pieces inside my burrito. Not sure if service is friendly or not since no one really talked, I also found it weird that a lady was wearing sandals in the kitchen.

I was out shopping in the area and wanted something quick and tasty - I stopped here and was surprised by the freshness of the bowl with shrimp I ordered for a late afternoon meal. The interior of the place was crisp, clean and relaxing. I will be back to try something different soon.

It was very bland and not good. Zucchini and squash in burrito. The chicken also was not cooked fully. Would not recommend

We haven't been to Brazilian Bowl in some time. Upon entering, we noticed that they have changed the table set up. It's crowded together and very tight seating. My husband order the steak sandwich which was too tough to eat. Luckily, the sweet potato fries were good. I had a bowl with chicken and added guacomole. The chicken was chewy. The bowls I've had previously were much better. I don't know what they changed, but it's not as good as it was.

This place has a very extensive menu that has something for everyone. My husband is a huge fan of their beef stroganoff - it's hearty, flavorful, and the portion size is pretty good. I had the chicken bowl, which was good but nothing special. Honestly, it tasted like a healthier version of chipotle. They have a wide variety of juices/smoothies too, so hoping to try that next time!

Had a great lunch here today with a friend. It's a cute shop at the intersection of Broadway and Belmont, which is very convenient. The restaurant has a small seating area that can accommodate perhaps 10 guests. Previous reviews have mentioned it's a similar style bowl to Chipotle but with a Brazilian spin to it, and I'd agree. Both my friend and I got the chicken bowl with black beans. Overall, the service was quick, and the food was good. It's a bit pricey, however, given the style of food. For a chicken bowl and bottled water, it cost around $15.

Fourth time dining in. Food is great but service is not! Everyone has always been extremely professional and nice here from my past experiences and I never had anyone be rude to me for no apparent reason and keep a mug on their face the entire time like the lady working there today who claimed she was the manager. They also have no adequate climate control for customers dining in. It's a cold day in Chicago and they had the ac on full blast. My food got cold super fast and I left feeling sick with a runny nose. Regardless of their standoffish approach and weird energy towards their customers, I still brought it up to them. The lady approached me and just stared at me without saying anything at first with a very unprofessional and problematic stance then proceeded to say they have no control over their temperature. Learn how to give proper customer service to people spending their money in your establishment and don't bring your personal problems to your business if you don't want to deal with personal results!

Big fan of the food here. I ordered a custom chicken burrito as well as a coxinha empanada and guava empanada to try. The burrito was flavorful and the roasted veggies were cooked to perfection. The chicken was good quality. It was a pretty good burrito. The empanadas were the real stars of the show for me. The coxinha looked like a fried pear but was cheesy chicken goodness. I could've easily had a couple of these. The guava empanada was the more stereotypical looking empanadas. The sweetness of the guava and cheese really made this a scrumptious choice. I'd love to go back here sometime. In the future I would probably just get a few empanadas but it is all good!

The location for this place is excellent. It's one of the healthier options within walking distance of Planet Fitness and is open late enough to also be an after-bars stop. The food was adequate but way under seasoned and we had to remind staff twice about churros we ordered a while ago because they were arguing in the back. (They were worth it.) Overall, chill atmosphere, awesome location, and what I assume is regularly quick service.

First time here, stop by for lunch after my nail appointment. Went in and there is a menu on the left wall. The menu is very self explanatory. You can make your food into a bowl or choose their own dish. Street parking.

I've walked by here a few times, but never got a chance to stop in. I decided to stop here for lunch. They have a wide variety on the menu. There's lovely desserts in the glass case and various Brazilian packaged items for sale (like cookies and coffee). Entree: brazilian bowl that had shrimp, corn, pico de gallo, lettuce, cheese, pinto beans, and grilled veggies that were on top of rice and drizzled with spicy mango dressing. Wow! This tasted so good. The shrimp was seasoned nicely and tasted heavenly. The portion was a good size and they give you lots of shrimp. Drink: muscle beach smoothie, which has strawberry, banana, peanut butter, whey powder, and coconut milk. It tasted so good and felt like I was in a beach/ somewhere warm. Overall, everything had great flavor and tasted so good! I'll definitely be back soon.

Plates are usually really good, but I'll never buy empanadas again. It was extremely burnt and the meat inside was burnt as well, it didn't taste good at all.

SO GOOD! I tried this place Sunday and I've been back twice since! their shrimp and chicken bowl is amazing and their chocolate "truffles" are soooo perfectly sweet. can't wait to try the rest of the menu.

Overall great experience the customer service is on point. I order for takeout, a steak bowl and fried yuca. The steak bowl was flavorful and I order it with guacamole. Needed a bit more rice and beans to soak up the flavor of the of the steak sauce. The Brazilian flan was great, it did not disappoint. The fried yuca was a nice compliment to the bowl.

Food was great, but a bit expensive for what it is. $30 for a burrito and a smoothie seems a bit exorbitant. However! The staff were remarkably fast and kind, I really enjoyed them, and I was only getting a pick-up order.

Came across this place on a later weekend evening as we were searching for food on a busy street where some of the restaurants we had in mind had longer waits. Sort of like a chipotle but more brazillian fare. The portions are hefty and seem weightier than a Chipotle bowl. We ordered the sausage and steak bowls. The sausage was tasty and the steak bowl I preferred. There was a good heaping of vegetables with each bowl. Unlike Chipotle you don't really have a choice of what goes in the bowl but most come standard with the toppings. The hot sauce given with the steak was tasty.

Very very good and authentic. Feijoada was very very tasty, empadinha de frango ( Brazilian empanada) excellent and perfect size, the BRIGADEIRO was just awesome and the flan to die for. I grew up in Brasil and often miss the brasilian cousine, now I found this place and it is just wonderful and healthy! Can't beat it! Highly recommend it!

This review is based off only their steak and mango salad and their smoothies. THEY ARE BOTH FANTASTIC. So many different fresh tropical flavors are involved with crafting every smoothie. They are $5-6 which isn't terrible considering the cost of product to make them. Additionally my go to entree is steak, corn tomatoes, lettuce and mango. It comes with spicy mango sauce on the side which is VERY good. If none of these options sound good, they have a very full menu, but are know for their bowls which are definitely made to compete with the Chipotle kitty corner. Would definitely recommend this place!!

Absolutely wonderful!!! I was looking for a quick bite in the area and found that absolutely delicious little spot ! Fresh high quality ingredients! Love it !!!

Placed an online pick-up order this past Monday night. My entree was missing a main ingredient, my side dish had an extra amount of an ingredient I specifically asked to not be included. I can deal with orders being incorrect, it happens. However, when I picked up my order, there was an incredibly rude, loud woman working. She was rude to me, visibly rolling her eyes at other customers, and blatantly yelling at fellow staff in front of customers. It was wildly uncomfortable and totally unprofessional. I get take out from this place often, and this woman is always an issue. I actually go out of my way to avoid ordering from here when I think she may be working. In short, 2 out of 6 items were incorrect and that lady ruins the experience every time.

Ordered their steak bowl with black beans and spicy mango sauce! It was a balanced mix of rice on the bottom topped with soft veggies, steak bits, beans, and cheese. It was pretty good but I needed a lot of hot sauce because overall the bowl was pretty neutral and I like some kick! I waited for the food at the high tables facing the street. When I sat down I could feel something on my arm, and when I turned to see what it was THERE WERE SPIDER WEBS. Luckily, I wasnt eating my food there but it is something to note. Their cheese breads were actually the first things I tried here and they were delicious. It takes some time to receive them because theyre baked fresh to order. They are perfectly chewy inside, crispy outside, and cheesy all around. Both times I have gone, they did not have any of the coconut chocolate cake :( I'm not sure if theyre not available anymore or if I have been unlucky the two times. i have gone!! If anyone knows when I can try one or if theyre just not being sold anymore, please let me know!! As long as it is on the menu, I will not give up

The food is just ok. I have to say the men on staff at this location are always rude. I never receive the extra hot sauce I ask for, and I am ALWAYS treated like a bother for placing an order in store. Today the man was so rude when I walked in 10 mins before they opened. I apologized and asked when they opened as it was not clear from looking at the door or window. The man became upset and said "when the sign say open". All around horrible experience and bad start to my day. I don't really have any reason to come back, this was more off putting than the time the cashier laughed at me for asking for sour cream. And just a tip, if you're closed try locking the doors.

Okay I never really write a bad review about a place until I really have a extreme bad experience, I have a few bad experiences with this place in particular with their food. So here it's what's happened today. I drove from EVANSTON to Brazilian Bowl in Lakeview specifically to purchase some items to fix dinner tonight. I even called ahead of time to make sure they what I was looking for. The woman (not gonna mention names in here but I'm sure they know who they are. I spoke with reached out to the store and confirmed that they had the items. When I got there, I waited in line and asked the attendant if they had the items. The guy at the cashier was dismissive of my question and treated me disrespectfully (EVEN MAKE FUN OF MY ACCENT).Being from Brazil, I always like to patronize the businesses that provide Brazilian goods here in Chicago. I am often disappointed in the quality of the food served, but Brazilian Bowl has always been a good place to pick up those items from "home" that are not available at the grocery stores, including the more upscale markets. After this experience, I will take my business elsewhere. Besides all the stress and anger I decided not to let this situation mess up with my dinner plans but from now on this place is gone for and my friends.

The Beef acebolado and the Strogonoff was killing the entire population......BEYOND GOOD...BEYOND TOP OF THE LINE..... cant wait to come to Chicago again and eat there, the coxinha and empanado was killing as well, the pastel was number 7 out of 10 but the pão de queijo was a disaster...0 out of 10, no good at all, if are a Brazilian you know thats not a real pão de queijo... not even close...so for that 4 stars for now.

I definitely wasn't up for cooking dinner tonight and I'm glad to have ordered this through UberEats! The packaging was good and the food was delicious! Definitely a big enough portion! I'm looking forward to ordering more food from here!

WOW!!!! I'm mid-bowl and had to come write a review. Just ordered a steak bowl for delivery and it fully exceeded my expectations! I was looking for something healthy to eat and came across Brazilian Bowl. Their menu looks amazing but I went with a bowl. The steak is so flavorful (reminds me a tad of the juicy steaks in Argentina); and the sauce is great. Guacamole was a great addition to the bowl, although a bit pricey for the little scoop. Regardless, it was all amazing and totally worth the price. Large portion too! New post-workout meals!!

Found this place through a Groupon. Ordered the Beef Acebolado and Shrimp Bobo. Both were delicious but the Avebolado was a clear winner. Tried the sweet white hot sauce they have on the tables on my fries and thought it was great! Cozy place and food is prepped in front of you. Also, small grocery shelf with unique goods.

Had my first experience at Brazilian Bowl. Overall pretty good meal. Now the details: Environment: There are not a lot of seats but that is expected of a smaller place. When I got there, there was only a few people but then got really busy. It took a bit of time to get my food from order to in hand, especially since we were third in line. So expect to wait for a bit. Spoiler alert: worth it! The food: ordered a steak brazilian bowl. The rice was well seasoned and the bowl came with grilled vegetables, cheese, kale, lettuce, corn, Brazilian sauce and pico de gallo. You have a couple of customization options on meat, beans and sauce choices. I opted for extra meat, black beans and the spicy mango sauce. The meat was slightly on the saltier side, which I like, but I do warn for those who are sensitive to it. Took mine to go. The menu: they have a lot of choices on bowls, salads, smoothies and other side items. I didn't have a chance to try them all but excited to try their empanadas next. Overall: lots of choices and good food. Will definitely come back soon!

I'm having trouble seeing why people love the food here. We tried two of their signature dishes - Shrimp Bobo with yucca-shrimp sauce, corn, dende oil, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, served over brazilian rice. And the Beef Acebolado - Angus steak, onions, rice, lettuce and Brazilian pico de gallo. We were not impressed by either dish. They were okay - but didn't taste great and certainly not enough for us to come back.
