Google
Delicious bakery and deli options for dining. Their coffee is always delicious as well. I ordered the broccoli salad and it came out quickly. The bread that came with my salad was filling and had comforting flavor. This location almost always has a line on the weekends and there are limited seating options so keep that in mind!

Google
Amazing pastries and it's evident why they sell out of stuff so fast. The items here are just too good to pass up and are a must try. I was visiting family from Texas. It was my first time trying a Canelé and I was blown away. It was so good that I actually went home and ordered a dozen copper molds to make them myself. And ever since my trip I've been dedicated to perfecting them. My girlfriend also had the ricotta spread on their house toast and loved it!

Google
Super cute bakery. Was driving home from a weekend away and my friend yelled "STOP!" She had been here before. It was first time - won't be the last. Great treats here and staff is super friendly. I got a sticky bun. My friend left with a big bag of stuff, lol. She was a happy camper, that's for sure! If you are ever in the area - stop and see for yourself.

Google
Adore this cafe. Great coffee, bread, pastries and breakfast dishes. Friendly staff. Super efficient. Their outdoor seating is a great place to soak in the morning sun and people watch as you sip on your coffee.

Google
The ricotta open sandwich was yummy and very good cream puffs, sticky buns and !! Caneli(?) we also got some bread to eat with cheese later. All good!!!!

Favorite spot for breakfast, bread and coffee/tea. Been here a few times already. This time we went on Friday morning, place was packed, we took the last seats, yet food was cooked quickly and as we requested.

Google
Really great coffee! And pastries! I highly recommend the bakers muffin and the conalé! The breadier pastries were a little dry but I'd like to try the bread next time because it looks and smells so good!!😆😆

Google
Loved this place for breakfast! The bread for my sandwich was incredibly fresh and crispy. The food was delicious and arrived almost instantly. They have a great selection of pastries to choose from as well. Although the place seemed crowded at times, there were always tables available, and the service was impressively fast. I’ll definitely be back whenever I’m in the area.

Yelp
Great Hudson Valley bakery. They bake and knead their doughs and breakfast sweets. It has lots of options, in terms of bread styles and breakfast treats. They have sandwiches and soups for lunch, as well as coffees. If you need a place to sit, walk to the back - where there are tables. Staff great! Review: 5

Yelp
This is a place we will go grab brunch everytime we go to Woodstock. This time we ordered the food online and was really easy an don't have to wait on line. They get very busy sometimes. We got some sandwiches, curry chicken salad, roasted pork, and the turkey. My favorite was the turkey. It was fresh and moist. The roasted pork was my second favorite though a bit salty but tasty. We called ahead to have their chocolate cake put on hold and they did without any questions asked. That chocolate cake was very fudgey, almost like a fudge bar but in a 6" cake form and 2 layer cake tall. The frosting was cheese cheese and butter base which was the best part. Outside was sprinkled was chop roasted nuts of some sort. Added an extra texture to the cake. It was my daughter's 16th birthday and her favorite is a good chocolate cake. This one did not disappoint. She enjoyed her cake even had leftover to bring back. I was a bit hesitant to get a birthday cake at a bakery but I am glad I gave them a tried. Not only they had the best bread in town, the bake good doesn't disappoint either. The chocolate cake made my daughter's birthday a very memorable one.

Yelp
Lovely spot for a breakfast bite - they seem to cater well to both sweet and savory which I appreciate. Coming from NJ though, the bagel could've been fuller. I had complete gaps in the sandwich where egg was missing. But otherwise, a great everything bagel. Free wi-fi. Good service. Nice place to grab and go or to sit and hang out a while. Their location is great for hitting the Saturday/Sunday Flea market nearby!!

Yelp
Bread Alone has been my favorite bread for years now. I love the loaf called Catskill the best. In the past year I've had more and more trouble finding it in the store. The grocery employees kept saying it was not selling. I called Bread Alone and they were not very helpful. Recently I noticed on their website the Catskill was removed and it said no information about the product. I'm going to call them again and ask if they will be making a loaf compatible with my favorite ingredients as in the Catskill loaf. I enjoy four of their other options so they still get four stars. I find myself searching for other brands to meet my bread addiction needs!

Yelp
Bread Alone was a really fun stop in Woodstock! The place is adorable, and all items are super fresh and delicious. I got the smoked salmon bagel. It was really unique with pickled red onions and horseradish caper dill cream cheese. My husband got the breakfast burrito, and it was creamy and fresh. We also got a raisin croissant. The dough was crispy, buttery, and oh so yummy! I just wish I stopped there again to bring some goodies home. A really cute place to check out. They also have food items for sale like truffle butter and garlic pretzels. If you need a gift in town, this would be the place to go!
google avatar

Yelp
Good bread. Love their SF sourdough. Their seed butter toast and ricotta cheese roast squash toast is good for breakfast.
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite bread place in Woodstock! This place has the freshest bread! Whenever I go here I am always tempted to get all the pastries as well, since everything smells so gooood!!!! The tomatoes on the avocado toast were so juicy. I usually do not like tomatoes but these were an exception. It was so flavorful and sweet and sour at the same time. Popped in your mouth like a grape. The smoked salmon was super fresh and tender! It had pickled onions and scallion cream cheese which was a nice touch. I definitely recommend going here early in the morning as pastries run out fast and it gets super busy during lunch time! Everything also came out super fast.

Yelp
The cozy and relaxing ambiance of this shop made for an enjoyable visit. The bread we purchased was absolutely delicious. However, our experience with the everything bagels was a bit underwhelming. We asked for them toasted with cream cheese, but there was barely any cream cheese, and the bagels weren't as warm or toasted as we expected. On the bright side, the service was quick, and the lady who helped us was very friendly and helpful.

Yelp
Super cute bakery and breakfast place in Woodstock! My friends and I stopped by for a pastry and coffee run and it didn't disappoint. The manager, Julie, was so incredibly sweet and gave us the best recommendations for pastries. My favorite was the vegan chocolate spelt cake - I normally am wary of vegan options but it was so decadent and chocolate-y! The coffee options are standard but surprisingly low prices for coffee nowadays.
google avatar

Heather K.

Yelp
Do not miss this stop in your Woodstock travels (or any of their other locations). Everything is so fresh and delicious and the service is quick and kind despite the busy weekend rush. Between myself and my boyfriend we tried 4 different pastries and 2 different egg sandwiches and loved them all. You can't go wrong with anything on their menu but the Pecan Sticky Bun is a must try.
google avatar

Yelp
We stopped in for a drink while walking around the downtown Woodstock area. The place was crowded, but the line moved quickly, and the service was quick. We ended up getting an ice tea and an iced chai. Decent price and both tasted fine.

Yelp
Heavenly fresh carbs. A smaller site and expect a line especially Sunday morning, but it moves fast. The croissant is butter heaven. The baguette is delicious especially dipped in their expensive but absolutely fresh and flavorful hummus - probably the best I've had and close to homemade. Wish they had more prepared foods like the Rhinebeck location.

Phoebe H.

Yelp
Very cute local spot in Woodstock with great baked goods and delicious coffee. I ordered to go but everyone I interacted with provided friendly service. Definitely would come back! We got breakfast burritos (one with chorizo and one with bacon- additional cost) and they were very good!
google avatar

Audra S.

Yelp
Great place. Have lunch there all the time. Food is always delicious and seems healthier than eating at other places. Love the grilled cheese sandwich and their burger with side salad. Rhinebeck is a cute town to explore. Don't forget to hit the take out counter for coffee and pastries on the way out.

Yelp
I was pleasantly surprised when we stopped at bread alone one afternoon for lunch. I looked at the menu online and honestly wasn't super enthusiastic about any of the lunch options (super rare for me!). My bf decided to get the grilled cheese which was on like a toasted sourdough bread with caramelized onions on it. I'm not a huge fan of so many onions but honestly it was really good. I decided to try the spicy tempeh breakfast burrito which was actually really good too. I didn't think there was a ton of tempeh inside it but it was super heavy on the black beans. I also didn't really see sweet potatoes in it, but it was overall pretty good. We tried the chocolate croissant too because how could you not. Delicious as expected! The service was good and the place was really nice inside. They also had outdoor seating which was nice because we had our dog with us. Overall a good experience!

Linda K.

Yelp
The service and food was excellent....the coffee was the best I'd had in a very long time. The manager was also very friendly and helpful...I will highly recommend Bread Alone, Woodstock to all my family and friends

Karen C.

Yelp
Skip the potato leek soup. Thin tasteless gruel. If I didn't see a few dark flecks, I wouldn't have known there were any leeks.

Rosalita C.

Yelp
Food is good although quality is slipping. What I can't stand is when an employee gets down to pet and snuggle two different dogs and then proceeds to serve food without washing her hands. Very gross!
google avatar

Chandni D.

Yelp
100% a must for lunch, brunch, breakfast, any excuse you can get! I got the squash and halloumi sandwich and it was amazing!! I also got the chai latte here and it's fantastic. Highly recommend taking a loaf and some pastries to-go :)
google avatar

Martina S.

Yelp
I'm sorry, but there's no way around it, my husband and I were really disappointed with our breakfast. I am perplexed at how many good reviews this place has. We ordered the breakfast burrito and spicy green egg, 2 lattes, side of bacon and a plain croissant. At $50 bucks, everything better be stellar and it was not! The food was so bland and just blah that we tossed it in the garbage. That being said, we always make the best of it and never throw food away. We could not save these items with hot sauce or s+p.
google avatar

Sophie K.

Yelp
Really cute bakery in the heart of Woodstock! We came here this morning for a little something to eat and some coffee. The avocado toast was good. The iced coffee was good too although I wish they offered cold brew. The bread on the avocado toast was a little too thick for my liking but I know some people really enjoy that. My mom had a chocolate croissant which is always tasty. We didn't want anything too filling for breakfast. Just a little snack and some coffee. This was perfect.

Yelp
Stopped by after hiking in the Catskills and we were all starving. Grateful there was a good amount of seating in the back and a bathroom. I wanted to like this more but it was kind of a hit or miss. The breakfast burritos were solid and a good deal for $8. The wraps were some kind of wheat tortilla so it was like a healthy burrito. The haloumi sandwich was a little too sweet with all the sweet potato. The pastries looked so yummy in the display but the morning roll was kind of hard and the chocolate loaf and lemon poppy seed loaf didn't have much flavor. But the chocolate chip cookie was good!
google avatar

Nichole W.

Yelp
This was a pretty dope spot that we passed by twice, and finally ended up circling back to. There are not too many coffee shops offering coffee and great food, but this place has both! We lucked out with good sitting outside on a warm November day. The service was fast, food was fresh and done with a few spins. I was impressed.

Yelp
After learning on the spot that Daniel Leader had moved on and moved to Maine, I was very broken-hearted... at first. You see, I am a devoted Leader Customer. In my first life as a Chef in the Hudson Valley, I used to source ALL of my breads for my lunch and dinner menus from Bread Alone, and I always (ALWAYS) made it a point to buy (and study/practice) Daniel's methods for Artisanal bread making from the Master himself. He is the best! But, as you know, when the Teacher employs, educated and trusts his most cherished of recipes with future Master/Artisan Bakers, you don't always maintain a consistency that existed once upon a time... Well, there is NO DOUBT that you should trust your instincts and taste buds to ENJOY BREAD ALONE again, and again, and again! I haven't been back to Woodstock in a few years and had to learn the hard way that the Kingston location is no longer open to the public. That made me sad. So, I took the drive up to historic Woodstock hoping (and praying) that the gourmet bread (and sandwiches and delectable pastries) were still available to the masses... YES THEY ARE!! I went absolutely nuts! My fiance and I started with a smoked salmon breakfast bagel and black bean breakfast burrito: Both were absolutely AMAZING!! Then, I had to buy some baguettes and Focaccia (like old times) and opted to make our day by buying the Herb Chicken Sandwich and Halloumi & Sweet Potato Sandwiches for a day hike in the Catskills. OMG!! Our taste buds were dancing a jig and neither of us could get enough! To absolutely Anyone (Vegan, Meat-Eater, Gluten Sensitive) at absolutely any time, from absolutely anywhere in the WORLD... If you find yourself in Woodstock, Rhinebeck or Boiceville; JUST GO BUY/ENJOY/LOVE/TRUST YOUR BREAKFAST, LUNCH, BREAD & PASTRY NEEDS TO BREAD ALONE!!! Because frankly, no one compares or even comes close to this level quality. ENJOY!!!

Yelp
Bread alone is a modern, bright location with baked goods and a kitchen! I ordered the avocado toast from the kitchen and the almond croissant from the bakery. The avocado toast was delicious, they were so generous with the avocado and I normally don't like large tomatoes, but the spices and flavor was sooooo good I finished it all. The almond croissant was crispy and flavorful, the almond flavor was present, but not overwhelming. If I happen to be in the area I would definitely come again, great service, clean location, reasonable pricing, and great food!
google avatar

Yelp
A staple for this small town, it's on the main street in the midst of the small stores and restaurants. Going in, the ambiance is cozy. There is a wise selection of freshly baked bread, pastries, and even a small menu of items for breakfast and lunch. We ended up ordering the Green Egg Sandwich and the egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich, chai latte with two chocolate croissants. It was so good that we came back after shopping to pick up 4 more croissants for the road, an oatmeal cookie, and brioche for French toast. Due to COVID-19, they no longer have any indoor seating. But they do have a small outdoor area if weather permits! Everything here is very fresh and a must-have in Woodstock.
google avatar

Mercedes C.

Yelp
When it comes to bread (and pastries), Bread Alone in Woodstock, seriously satisfies. Day after Thanksgiving and pandemic going on, I picked up some munchies at 10am. Whatever your preference, there's something here for you. And if it's a sugar rush you're after, these pastries are definitely creative. Maybe Bread Alone closed at some point- but despite the challenges of the pandemic outbreak, they're open, thriving and have adapted newer ways for in-person purchasing, take out orders even rearranging their indoor layout for entering and exiting. Ordered a few breakfast and sweets online, selected a pick-up time then paid right through their website. The proof is in the pudding- Bread Alone is surviving and making the most of the current situation.
google avatar

Sohini W.

Yelp
Went to Bread Alone as the Olive Bread was recommended. Upon getting it home, we found exactly 3 olives in the entire loaf. Soooo Disappointing ...the crust and crumb of the Bread was excellent. Bread Alone, please put in way more olives to make this bread even closely be worthy of the name "olive bread"...

Peter K.

Yelp
Good coffee, good pastries, great breakfast sandwiches. Great staff! Nice patio on a sunny day.

Steve H.

Yelp
Good coffee and a GREAT breakfast burrito with chorizo. Avocado toast was also delicious. Gets busy but moves fast.

Cara P.

Yelp
The best. A Woodstock staple! Great baked goods, breakfast, lunch, coffees, teas & outdoor dining in season. Text for take out & just pick up ! Love their iced coffees!
google avatar

Lori L.

Yelp
Very well ran given the new guidelines and restrictions. Came here for breakfast and for the salmon on everything. Best salmon sandwich I've ever had! Vanilla soy latte was delicious too!
google avatar

Irene E.

Yelp
Pretty good, spacious ... it has a dinning hall at back
google avatar

Monica S.

Yelp
The pastries, the croissants and the coffee... all excellent The staff?? Not All employees were rude and had an attitude except one girl who wore hoop earrings who was friendly and aimed to please. I ordered a sandwich and they got it wrong twice handing me someone else's order. They were angry at me the customer. Unbelievable. The girl in the hoop earrings made it right. I spent $29 for grief Sounds unreal Why??!! You are in the hospitality business so be nice and if you cannot then this isn't the business for you Doesn't cost anything to be nice Change you, change the world

Yelp
We had the good fortune of renting an AirBnb just half-a-block away from Bread Alone. I suppose for most people, a weekend in Woodstock is best remembered by tie-die shirt stores on Tinker Street and maybe a hike up Indian Head Mountain, but for us we'll remember it with the exquisite carbs at this humble Woodstock stalwart. Our favorite purchases were the surprisingly airy bagels, best paired with their smoky roasted tomatoes and a generous dollop of butter; the fennel-topped focaccia that went with just about every spread we tried; and the slightly, but not overly, citrusy blood orange tart. And honorable mention to the oozing grilled cheese on warm sourdough.
google avatar

Laura S.

Yelp
Came here multiple times during a 4 day stay in Woodstock. Mainly due to the fact they were one of the few places open everyday and early, but also all everything is so good! The breakfast burrito was a favorite! Great vegetarian option and not too heavy as burritos can be. Throughout our time in Woodstock, we also got the BLT, Peruvian chicken, club and green egg sandwich for our hikes and car rides. The bread is seriously so fresh and makes all the difference for taking the sandwiches to the next level. Pastries are also delicious! Wouldn't hesitate to go back and try everything on the menu.
google avatar

James K.

Yelp
A cute little spot that I didn't expect to have multiple locations, but they do! Got the Spicy Tempeh which is a grilled eggplant veggie sandwich which was good! The aioli in it gave it enough flavor to wrap the sandwich together! Without it, might have been a little bland--which was what I thought about the breakfast burrito. It is a vegetarian burrito, so we were asking for it; but my carnivorous palette still craved more flavor. The presentation of all the food was so attractive though. The grill marks just looked photoshopped; so if you want an Instagrammable place to eat; this is the joint! Recommended.
google avatar

Christie L.

Yelp
Following COVID regulations and only allowing 1 customer inside at a time so there was a line outside every time I walked by, but I wanted to review Bread Alone for their bread loafs. Super cute little bakery in a bustling part of Woodstock. I did not personally purchase any, but my Airbnb host provided breads from this bakery every morning. It was the best part of my morning and woke up looking forward to having bread with PB&J. I tried the 9 Mixed Grain, Ciabatta, and 12 Grain and Seed which were all super fresh and delicious! Their bread is so good! I definitely want to come back to try their pastries and sandwiches! My airbnb host said the croissants are also amazing!
google avatar

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Lovely spot for breakfast and brunch. They have a nice outdoor area you can eat after picking up your food inside. The croissant was a delight, soft and buttery and dense. The avocado toast has a colorful array of tomatoes and the spices and lemony flavors on top of the avocado are wonderful, a step up from your usual. The iced coffee is strong and nice. The loaves of bread are a great to grab to-go. We enjoyed slowly eating the olive bread throughout the day.
google avatar

Katarina L.

Yelp
5 stars for the iced coffee I really needed on a hot day and the impulse cookie purchase. I stopped in this past Saturday (so COVID regulations still in full swing) and was very happy to read on their door they were only allowing one customer in at a time. There was no line and I only waited a few minutes but it was great to not have to shuffle around other customers. The iced coffee was strong and just what I needed to cool down. We picked up a pack of their chocolate chip cookies to take with us on our hike (cookies are hiking snacks, right?) and a friend dubbed them "possibly the best cookie ever" and I don't think that is a small feat. Get the cookies!!! The staff was super friendly and patient as we perused the sweets and I left with a caffeine boost. What more can you ask for?? I'm not from the area but will definitley remember this cute little shop next time I come up!
google avatar

Vitaly S.

Yelp
Stale yesterday's pastries, watered down coffee, or light brown water. Is it that hard to add an extra scoop of coffee????
google avatar

Anuja T.

Yelp
Good latte, though I didn't get the vanilla flavor until I was about halfway through! We also got the plain croissant and the lemon scone, both of which were so delicious! Definitely recommend if you're in the area. There's a small seating area, though we took ours on the road for our hike!
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
Delicious large ice coffee - 24oz for only $3.50. Pastries are all fresh and delicious. Staff is very friendly. Plenty of seating in the back. Great neighborhood spot.
google avatar

Zabelle M.

Yelp
Love this place!! They have amazing food and a ton of vegan/vegetarian options. Extremely fast service and everyone is so sweet! Highly recommend coming here!!

Yelp
This branch has the best staff compared to the other ones. It's solid and dependable. Always packed which says a lot

Erin M.

Yelp
Quality is 10 starts & they run the entire wdst loca zero net carbon. Staff is out of this world and knows your drink before you do!!
google avatar

Crystal P.

Yelp
We got breakfast here one morning, take out. It was yummy. Woodstock needs more breakfast places! Seriously this is I think the only place in town open before 9 am! Luckily we found this delicious place cuz we were starving. Does everyone sleep in? Lol.
google avatar

Travis B.

Yelp
Always good. Pleasant folks behind the counter and the food is always on point. I always go in for the Soups and I Love the Coffee.
google avatar

Joi B.

Yelp
I'm not one who fiends for carbs first thing in the morning, but just thinking about the everything bagel with vegan cream cheese as I sip my typical cup of espresso avec nothing at 9 am has me reconsidering my stance. My friends and I walked in at crazy o'clock on a recent Saturday morning and the line was considerable but the counter folks are pros and before we knew it, we were next. I admit to being momentarily bedazzled by all the baked goods, but once my eyes landed on a bagel, I knew it was over. There's plenty of other options, vegan goodness as well, but my eyes were for bagels alone (heh). And the perfect oat milk cappuccino. Bread Alone, you've ruined me!
