If you’re open 24/7 and people come to get food after a night out it doesn’t mean your staff should sexually assault the women. They need to check who they’ve hired bc I can’t go there anymore because there are multiple occasions where the men making the sandwiches at night come around the counter and try to kiss you when giving you your sandwich. And I’m not joking this has happened multiple times.

We enjoyed every moment from start to finish. Their menu balances flavor with satisfying portions. Don't put off trying this place! The worker explained the menu then gave us room to decide. We plan to make this place part of our routine.

I have been going to this location for 8 years now and I find that the service and manners just get worse and worse. I ordered a cheeseburger and curly fries and because my brother got his smoothie first, I told the lady at the register what we ordered and I paid. Then, upon waiting for my food, one of the guys at the sandwich station said “you paid for regular fries, curly fries are a dollar more” and I said “I’m sorry I’ll keep that in mind next time.” Then, the cashier tried to get my attention and made me pay the extra dollar. I understand adhering to price rules, but I genuinely forgot I had curly fries, and to wave me down as I’m leaving for a dollar is just bad etiquette and service altogether. As someone who spends so much money in this establishment, I expect to be treated with grace. This is unacceptable and I’m reconsidering going there again.

Oh MAN. I ordered grub hub from them on Wednesday 4/16 This order gave me Salmonellosis 100% I ate some onion rings and some fruit that was a little too funky tasting but I thought..it'll be alright. Then I had an egg sandwich. The next morning I for real got the shakes..a fever..aches and the magical runny D-word. I'm still messed up from them but then another person I live with ate a salad from them that I had put aside. Now he's messed up too. He's more pukey and I'm more the other end. Someone over there seriously dropped the ball big time. I'm am more than 100% sure it came from there. This had better go away soon or else they're gonna have some big issues.

. I used to buy sandwiches from this place regularly, and the people who prepare the food are absolutely amazing! I always tip them $5 to $7 because they truly deserve it. However, the skinny guy at the counter is incredibly rude and unprofessional. He seems jealous and always questions me about my order, even when the price is clearly labeled. Today, he overcharged me by $3 and kept asking me what was on the sandwich, despite the fact that he could simply check the price or ask the person who made it. I was frustrated because I was in a hurry to get to the hospital where I work. I paid for my sandwich and left, but I won’t be coming back.

They offer a stir fry section, where you can pick your own stir fry with choice of sauce, noodle, veggies, and proteins. They also have a smoothie section and a salad section. They have this awesome banana peanut butter smoothie that I’m obsessed with. They have a buffet area with options from fresh fruit, salad, lasagna, fried chicken, pasta, lo mein, orange sauce chicken, Brussel sprouts. They also have a section that makes sandwiches. At the pay counter you can ask for coffee, they also make lattes and offer a variety of milks including oat milk. The people at the cash register are really nice. They also have lots of varieties of drinks, and snacks, many chocolate options! Very eclectic selection here.

Bread and Butter was a wonderful store to go into for lunch. My sandwich was made both quickly and with friendly and professional service. A definite must-stop if you're in the area! They have plenty more than sandwiches too, likely much more than I saw myself during my visit.

Had a great smoothie here. Service was a bit slow but there are plenty of other delicious looking items to check out while you are waiting.

Can be a little pricy but the freshly prepared food is worth it. Tasty, good sizes, and made quick. 24/7 service is massive plus.

Abundance of food to choose from. Right near FDR and a park you can eat and sit. Recommend it to others.

I have to leave a review so I can remember little gems in the city like this one. My friend lives in the apartment complex right next to this location, and I've come in here multiple times this week. I even tried their buffet today! I love, love, LOVE their new york lassi (mango + greek yogurt YUM) smoothie. It's probably one of the best smoothies I've ever had. Their food isn't phenomenal but there's a great variety. I want to come back again just for their smoothies. I've ordered three this week so far.

Stopped by for a quick bite, and unfortunately the food was very overpriced and mediocre. I grabbed several items from the hot/cold buffet area, enough for two people. In general, there is a nice variety of items: lots of mixed salads, fruit, protein choices, pasta salads, etc. However, the food was under-seasoned, dry, and overall just ok. The price is absolutely not justified for what you are getting. My favorite items were: seasoned cauliflower and the ziti in tomato sauce with cheese. In my opinion, if you are looking for a quick bite to eat, there are many other places in the area with tastier and more affordable options. If I were to return, I would try ordering an item to be made off of the menu, rather than the buffet. Perhaps, that would be a better choice.

This place is fire. The sandwich bar is outrageous and truly has some of the better tasting sandwiches I've had in NYC including restaurants. Get the chicken parm sub and add bacon. Their make your own salad bar also has huge portions for much less money than you will pay at other chain spots. Fast service and great for a late night snack too.

Favorite bodega ever. 24 hrs and has so many different cuisines. I got this chicken salad wrap with avocado, extra lettuce, red onion, & chipotle mayo almost every time and the workers knew my order by heart. The pad thai was also great. You can skip the smoothies.

Beets, Pineapples and extra ginger. Simple yet great! There's way more options in here as well. One stop shop for just about anything. Salad bars, juice bar, hot plate items, a wok station and many other options. Impossible not find something you would like.

Not sure why they have such a low rating, but I personally love this place and am so thankful it's open 24/7! I always get the paninis when I'm on my overnight shift and the guys are super friendly and add such positive vibes to my night. Their paninis are all really delicious (my go-to is The Chipotle). Not to mention their smoothie bar is awesome- seriously all delicious! I gotta admit, the prices are a little steep here but it's expected as it's in the city and a small deli. Always going back for more :)

Decided to come here after all my coworkers rave about this place and I'm happy I did. Huge variety of food, anything you can possibily crave, they definitely have it! I had a prosciutto,mozz, mayo, and arugula sandwich with balsamic vinegrette on the side. It was so good and the portion were huge!! I couldnt eat the other half and saved it for a snack. I cant wait to try the other selections!! Highly recommended!

I had horrible experience with a guy who works in the grill section on SATURDAY. Never had an issue with any of staff who works there, but this guy gave me an attitude. I was waiting in line for 5 min although there was no one in front of me in the line, and I heard a voice from behind me. Yes, looks like they are speaking same language, of course it was not an English. And the guy who works in the grill section started making sandwich and the person who speaks same language took that sandwich. Then, he was asking what he can do it for me... omg. Also, never changes gloves and touches food, mop, and others... has sanitary issue here. Because of this guy, never going back to this place.

I got the BEC on a toasted plain bagel. I'm hungover and needed a quick cheap BEC just good enough to bring me back to life. The beauty of a NY deli is that it's not a bagel shop. The bagel is still good but it's not the focus of the sandwich. So to make up for this you get plenty of bacon and cheese. Food: 4/5 Service: 3/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 (just cleaned the grill before my order) Time: 4/5 (would've been 5/5 but they had to clean the grill)

Grateful to have a spot open 24/7 by the hospital for convenient snacks+ meals ( esp for us night shift folk ). Prices are on the higher side d/t location. I came in at 1am for a caffeine boost and iced coffee i ordered was extremely watered down ( even with light ice). So disappointing :// Ended up tossing it after a few sips. It was like if la croix made my coffee lol.

I am not sure why there is such a low rating for this place. I think the only reason why I would rate it low is because of its $$$ for items. But this shop is on first avenue, right by FDR near NYU Langone. The price point makes sense for the location. The food is really good - if you go in for their sandwiches!! I love stopping here and grabbing a sandwich to go before or after work. Their bacon egg and cheese sandwiches are yum. But my favorite thing is pepperoni, salami and provolone with mayo on a toasted roll. This is my ALL time favorite. They also make delicious Italian sandwiches. Check them out!

The sandwiches are excellent and the service is quick when preparing the food. Prices are not too expensive. Nice place to get food from the buffet as well.

The best kind of bodega I come here every Saturday for breakfast and they never disappoint. Surprisingly great bagels and pastries. I swear every time I need something this place has it. A huge selection of drinks, snacks, chocolate, etc. There salads are delicious as well! Really a neighborhood staple.

Bread and Butter is a classic. Great late night bite. I have so much nostalgia for the chicken twister after coming home from a night out with the girls

If the short guy with the mole on his face behind the sandwich area didn't work there I'd order sandwiches more often . But he makes the whole experience so distasteful. He is so rude and talks about you in Spanish. If he doesn't like you he'll mess up your order . If you speak English he'll find something to say about you or if you are not paying attention. If you are a WOMAN and don't give him "attention" (as he says in Spanish ) he will be so rude and mess up your order. I think no one has told him that he can be reported for his behavior. Not sure why he thinks he has the right to be disrespectful to women but he needs to stop .

A local deli in the area where I work that's open 24 hours. wooo hooo. Can the overnight shift staff get some love with food options. I am shocked with all the negative reviews because this spot has been consistent with offering fresh food. I've had a few sandwiches, Panini's and salad and always enjoyed my food. Its pricy but that comes with the location. The staff has always been pleasant and it's cool to have a spot we can walk in at 3AM and choose hot meals and a selection of other deli items. Yay, I'm a fan.

I ordered an açaí bowl just now to be delivered - my roommate ordered one about an hour ago. Bread & Butter is about 5 minutes from my apartment. My roommates bowl was full to the brim & was clearly just made. Mine however is essentially juice, half full, and wow considering I paid EXTRA for toppings they really ripped me off. Absolutely ridiculous. Will not be ordering from them again.

For the area arguably the best deli $8 per sandwich/wrap/panini $7-9 for a gourmet salad. They have an extensive salad bar which I personally enjoy. There is the standard $9 per pound of self serve cuisine They have a pretty unique "pan-Asian" selection with fresh sushi, rice bowls Not to mention they have pretty much anything you may need in a pinch in terms of groceries. Delivery service is on point in terms of timing. ~40-50 minutes. They do offer seamless which is a plus. Very impressive establishment. Perfect for NYU employees or others in the area. I'm a frequent visitor and highly recommend

As much as I would like to give this place a 10/10 because the food is amazing. It's unfortunate to say this place needs to some work when it comes to their hospitality towards their customers. In two separate occasions, I've experienced poor service from Bread & Butter's staff. Mainly, from the evening crowd. At first, I took into consideration that not everyone is having a good day and/or is going through a personal situation. So of course, I'm not going to take it personal nor pay any mind to it. But the second time, was obvious. Especially, when I noticed that I and my partner were treated differently than the other customers who were lighter skin color than us. I brought up to the "manager" and I was laughed at by staff, and he brushed it off as if it was nothing. So I'm making the decision of taking my service somewhere else. It's unfortunate that we're still living in times where we're experiencing prejudiced, and racism especially from minorities like us. We need to do better as a community. Stand together instead of against each other.

Bad customer service!!the cook did not pay attention of my order .He made mistake of giving regular fries instead of curly fries I ordered.He keeps talking in Spanish in front me with his assistant and I felt that they talking trash about me .He got so upset of me because I made a mistake of paying the food first before ordering the food .I complain to the cashier about the mistake but he just told me I should ordered first .I will not ever coming back there anymore .The regular fries is saggy and taste bad

It's really a great place if you live at View 34. Otherwise, not that great. I am concerned about how clean it is. I really just go for essentials...not sure why people eat from the buffet...

Sandwich guy has a sh*tty attitude. Cleanliness should be improved. Sushi trays are assembled with bare hands. If you're at the View go across the street to the other deli.

I just received my chicken parmigiana panini order. Completely inedible. How did someone look at this and say yes we're sending that order out??

I have such a love hate relationship with Bread & Butter. While the food is mediocre and somewhat overpriced, I come here waaaay more often than I'd like to admit out sheer convenience. I've tried pretty much every thing here - sandwiches/wraps/burgers, sushi, bibimbap, stir fries, açaí bowl, soups, salads and coffee. Sandwich/wrap/burger station - huge selection, pretty expensive but quality is decent and pretty consistent. You can also get fries/sweet potato fries here. My faves are the veggie burger and the California wrap. Sushi - ok, prices are decent Stir fry station- noodle stir fry dishes and bibimbap are good, avoid the ramen!! Salads/soups - standard, not great Açaí bowl - avoid!! I ordered it once and it was super watery (soup) with like 1 tablespoon of granola. Never again. Overall, B&B will have pretty much anything you want (besides pizza) at any hour of the day as they are open 24 hours. The place itself is nicer/cleaner than your average deli with a large selection of drinks, snacks and fresh/prepared foods. During peak meal time (and drunchie time) the place is packed and the lines get pretty long.

Ehhhh...unfortunately this is one of the few places that's open all the time near the hospital. Or at least it feels that way. A few things are good here, like the burger which is a great deal! But more often than not, the food is just mediocre. Nothing special. Nothing amazing, just run of the mill deli concoctions of salad and a serious random assortment of stuff. Will i eat here again, highly likely because we order from here so often since it's right across the street.

I work the night shift at the hospital and came in for a sandwich and a bagel with butter (it's 2:30am). The guy making the sandwiches say no bagels (but they are behind him). The sign on the glass says "no breakfast after 11am". While he's making a sandwich I ask "what time do you start serving breakfast" he nastily says "4:30am". I say thanks no problem. He doesn't write my price on my sandwich and I get to the register and the cashier tries to charge me $11 and the register says "burger deluxe". I ask him how is it $11, I don't have a burger deluxe and it says $8.50 on the sign. He walks away to ask the guys who went behind the wall how much, they wrote $9.75 on the container. I ask why is it $9.75 and not $8.50- his coworker chimes in and says you have to pay for the add ons, the lettuce, tomato and the cheese and list the price for each. WHAT IN THE ENTIRE HELL!? an extra $1.25 for that? I should've left the sandwich but I paid and the cashier goes "next time pay attention". So I snap back "there will be no next time since you originally tried to charge me $11, you better pay attention" and I walked out. Only because this is the closest thing open is why I even came back in. Avoid if you can, staff is rude, overpriced and just terrible experience.

Staff is extremely rude. Very arrogant, inconsiderate, and always end up getting the order wrong.

Location is right across from NYU Langone hospital, which makes it a convenient and popular spot. They have many food options. There's an Asian station where you can get ramen, udon, stir fry, sushi, etc. There's also a smoothie/juice station, a sandwich station, hot food station, and a salad station. The quality of food is just ok. I usually order a smoothie and a wrap. I also like their iced coffee. Almost everything there is overpriced. Cashiers are friendly but sometimes staff than man the stations can be incredibly rude. Since the store is in such a popular location, it's often crowded and there can be long wait times. Overall, it's a decent place that I go to for the convenience.

Bread and butter where do I start hmmmm.. Let's start by saying you guys are extremely pricey a bagel with butter and Jelly should not be $3.00. The cook turned me completely off he have on gloves wiping down and dusting the countertop with his hands and then he goes and touch ppl food he never changed his gloves I watched this man for 15 minutes. When I said he used the same gloves to wipe down the counter, pick up a rag to wipe down something else and then turned around and handled someone bread with those same gloves . I would never ever recommend this place to anyone...

The Staff at this establishment are very nasty individuals. The owner/manager does nothing about their behavior because it continues. The cashiers are very rude and the cooks are even more distinguishing and unsanitary. If I could give them a below zero I will. I will never spend my money in this prejudice/ racist establishment. I asked the cook for sautéed onions he proceeded to put raw on my wrap I asked him to please Sautee the onion he picks up the onions and throw it on the grill and said how am I supposed to know what you want. Very nasty customer service. I have complained to the manager multiple times and this is the last straw I will never spend my earned dollar here.

Over priced items and very rude staff. Last week, when the city was on a hurricane storm watch and there was a torrential down pour, I attempted to go inside through a side door. One of the staff was right in front of the door and saw that I was struggling to get it open. He let me continue to struggle in the rain. I was about to walk away because I was getting DRENCHED when he finally opened the door and rudely gestured to his head, implying that I was too stupid to figure out how to open the door. Really, buddy? You'd rather make a point than offer a kind hand towards a customer getting soaked in hurricane force winds? Pathetic. I work in a building next door and I'll be spreading the news.

Never dealt with a more incompetent restaurant. Food didn't come after over an hour. I called and the woman told me it was delivered. I told her it wasn't and she argued with me and told me because I selected contact less delivery maybe they left it outside. It was not outside my apartment door or in lobby of the building. Rather than make up lies and blame the customer maybe you should check with your delivery staff. Two hours and two calls later I finally received cold food. WILL NEVER ORDER FROM HERE AGAIN.

If i had more options i would not come here but i don't so lets dig in ..1.over priced 2.very bland 3. after 11 don't eat from the food line . 5 protein drinks are rip off (example if u order a large your getting like a extra banana not a extra scoop of protein). 6 customer service sucks.. the only thing that is good is the grill.

I work nearby and come here regularly. Today I found a cigarette butt in my garden vegetable soup. When I told the manager he said "I don't know why that is in there" and asked if I wanted another soup. No one seemed alarmed and we had to ask if they were going to throw the rest out. Their response compounded how disturbing the whole experience was. Never getting food here again.

Best Bodega in the city. Amazing sandwiches, always in stock of items and necessities, and have all sorts of snacks. They also have pedialyte too for those hang overs. A little pricey but thank you Bread and Butter for everything I love you

They say any plant is a rose in a dessert and in the wee hours of a New York morning me and my wife found ourselves hungry with little options having enjoyed the wine in the city. After a quick google search, we direct ourselves to one the closest 24 hour food shop braving the freezing December winds. Upon arrival we struck up conversation with the Oaxacan chef as he prepared each of us breakfast sandwich and wrap at roughly 3 am. Upon arrival back to the hotel room (we busted back) these delicious cheeses sandwiches where consumed with the fervor of a feral child eating fried chicken for the first time. The prices where more than fair and we where able to get a few other groceries.

Bread and Butter New York Manhattan, is more than your typical buffet. With a wide variety of foods from American, Chinese, Japanese, to Spanish cuisines. With chefs working the sandwich deli counters right by the actual buffet itself. The food is average or slightly above average based on taste and quality from the buffet. Pricing for the buffet is handled by weight $11.99/lb. Mostly everything else besides the buffet is menu priced.

From outside it looks like more a cafe, but inside you discovered just a fancier deli with hot and salad bar. It bothered me that they make your coffee, also if you want room for milk and do it yourself. They pour as much milk they want, and you cannot control it. Thankfully I didn't ask for sugar! Who knows what would I have gotten. I also got a chocolate croissant which wasn't incredibly fresh. Sort of a standard bakery one, that you can find in any gas station or cheap deli. Sort of disappointment, since it's so nice outside with its new sign, and eating area. Maybe their sandwiches are better?

Food is delicious, which is why they are getting three stars, but customer service, including the managerial staff, leaves a lot to be desired.

Zero stars if I could. Absolutely the most terrible, rude and disappointing service I've ever experienced. After ordering delivery from this location on Seamless multiple times without issue, I found myself 1 hour past expected delivery time without food. So I called the restaurant to see if there was an update, in which I was aggressively attacked for being "too far away" and then asking if I still wanted my order. When I responded with questioning if they really just didn't want to make / deliver my order, the guy told me he's cancelling and hung up on me. Wasted 1.5 hours of my time and did so rudely. Much better options out there. Avoid if you don't live right around the corner.

Highly recommend drinking your daily dose of veggies with their green monster smoothie. Delightful!

I tried to give this place many chances, first time while ordering a sandwich I saw a cockroach where the bread was. Second time I was ordering a smoothie, the man who was making the smoothies was being super rude. The smoothie was horrible. A Waste of $8, went straight in the trash. The buffet is the best thing there because you don't have to deal with anyone's bad attitude.

I've been working close by for a long time. Last year I would have left a 5 star review for sure. I still love their variety and the items from the noodle station and the açaí bowls. But the last 3 times I got food from the grill station they messed it up after confirming they heard what I said. This time my bf got a real burger instead of the veggie burger I ordered and paid for. Totally sucks. I don't want to have to stand there and stare at my food being made when I could be shopping for more items, especially after the person repeats my order back to me perfectly fine...
