"Cafe Bread and Cocoa closed last week after at least a decade in business at 199 Sutter Street, showing once again that the neighborhood around Union Square is increasingly tough on small mom-and-pops. The business made the announcement on Facebook: “Saying goodbye to Bread and Cocoa and a 30-year career in foodservice. Saying hello to a new life.”" - Janelle Bitker

Closed 2nd register and created a LONG line. Kitchen was quick with our order but I heard others were waiting for theirs. Fairly uninspired taste. The ice-latte wasn't cold, only lukewarm with ice on the top, but tasted ok.

A very tasty, warm and loving place to get breakfast! I was looking for somewhere to have breakfast before heading to the post office and popped in and it was delicious! The staff are friendly as well

A little hard to find menu board. But good enough over all, and recommend the meal set menu.

This was a very solid 4 star experience. On one hand, there is a good selection of dishes to pick from and the food is really good (personally, I loved the fog sandwich and the chili). On the other hand, there's not a lot of seating room, the tables are awkwardly arranged, and the service was friendly but curt. Still, I would definitely come back here for lunch. You can expect to pay about $12 for your average meal.

This coffee shop was located directly below the Galleria Park Hotel where we were staying and stopped by here for a quick bite on our way to the airport. The coffee was decent and the food was good. Much better choice than *bucks. The price was a tad high, but fitting for San Francisco.

Good pastries, decent breakfast sandwich, uneven service. Not enough silverware available at opening time, one of the orders was messed up and needed to be redone. Potentially great place, needs some management TLC & quality control: Starbucks is just around the corner

Try and come in when it's not busy! The breakfast sandwiches are all around $6 a pop. I had the Haight sandwich on a multi grain roll and it was so satisfying and extremely filling, though it didn't look that way. If you are guilty of eating the spinach feta wrap at Starbucks, it is worth it to spend the extra $3 on this sandwich instead. They offer London Fogs, a drink I don't usually see at places. That's a plus for me. Service is quick and friendly, though it can be hard to tell where the line is if you're the first one there. Note that there are two places where your purchases will come from: the drink bar and the food bar. Not a lot of seating here. Also, I don't think there were any condiments that I could see, and I wanted to add hot sauce to my sandwich, but it still tasted quite nice without it.

The food looked decent, but my drink was not. The almond milk was burnt, and the espresso underneath tasted dead. I ordered it for here, but they gave it in a paper cup. And, as I sat in a far corner, I couldn't hear my drink being called. Which is fine, I would have gone up in a moment to check on it. Instead the barista came over to tell me the drink was ready, but rather than hand it to me it was seated on the far side of the counter, meaning I had to walk around the horseshoe bar to get it then walk back. Not a huge expenditure of energy, but the customer service was lacking. My friends did, however, enjoy their sandwiches.
