"Homegrown bakery Bread & Water Company is opening its second brick-and-mortar shop at a kiosk inside Pentagon Row. The nearly seven-year-old operation, which currently sells assorted baked goods, specialty sandwiches, soups, and more out of its Alexandria shop as well as at various farmers markets, has already put up signage at the developing outpost (1201 S. Joyce Street, Arlington, Va.). Bread & Water’s current offerings include fresh breads (baguettes, sourdough boule, marble rye), pastries (assorted muffins, walnut sticky buns, Belgian chocolate pound cakes), salads (field greens with seasonal fruit; roasted beets with feta; farro with mixed vegetables), and sandwiches (garlic-rubbed pork barbecue; roasted chicken salad with onion jam; wagyu steak and cheese with provolone and cheddar).
