The 24 Best Restaurants in Monterrey, Mexico | Eater

"The breads and pastries at Bread Panaderos are famous not just in Monterrey but all over the country. Alejandro Reyes and Bernardo Flores celebrate artisanal baking through natural ingredients and experimentation. The sourdough and butter croissants are the duo’s signatures, but they’ve also made bread using chapulin flour (from Mexican grasshoppers), among other experiments. The pastry menu features kouign amann, conchas (Mexican sweet breads), pain au chocolat, and muffins. The bakery serves breakfast, lunch, and even dinner, when cocktails are offered alongside pizzas and open-faced sandwiches. Inside the bakery you’ll also find Café Pistola, where expert baristas pour coffee and espresso made from specialty Mexican beans. [$-$$]" - Liliana López Sorzano

You come here for the bread and coffee. It's their specialty. The bread is great, fresh, with a good variety. If you time your arrival right, you can get bread fresh out of the oven, hot/warm. The coffee is strong, rhe only way to go. I had a latte and it was robust and tasty. We had the cheese bread balls, a cheesecake, and a pecan cookie. Oh, and panela cheese tortillas (!). All were great. The service is on point, no nonsense and quick. The crew is on the younger side (low to mid 20s) and energetic. The music is a mix of 80s a d 90s Top 40 mix (Bryan Adams, Air Supply, Aerosmith, Whitney, Michael, etc. NOTE: Extremely limited seating, only 2 small benches for 3 peopl3 each to wait for your coffee, but no tables. I will return fo' shizzle.

We visited two of their locations while visiting Monterrey Mexico and both were delicious. The espresso drinks were also outstanding. Highly recommend this restaurant for breakfast lunch or brunch.

Google
Best coffee in town for me. I loved how cozy the place is, very well treated as a customer, the variety of bread, dough, cookies, coffee and atmosphere. I will simply come back again and again making this my preferred morning stop. They had a Hario V60 dripper which is weird to find in coffee shops, this guys means business in a good manner since they serve quality. Overall, will come back and 100% recommended.

Google
High Quality Bread and, now, Coffee too! The place had a nice makeover some weeks ago and it looks fantastic! Perhaps what improved the most is its coffee offer. I strongly suggest the Doppio Espresso, prepared with Cafe Pistola.

Google
Amazing bakery! My family owns a bakery so we tend to be picky, this place has a great program. Simply delicious.

Google
This is one of the best bakeries in Monterrey, as they specialize in sourdough and savory breads. They also have delicious doughnuts, croissants and other pastries. On the same building they conveniently have an ice cream shop and a café. Will go back again for sure.

Yelp
This place is pretty nice with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Maybe the music similar too loud to my liking. I was hoping the Americano would be tastier but it's not that great.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop with a good variety of drinks typically found in US coffee shops, including alternate milks. They also have a lovely selection of homemade European artisan breads. In the afternoons, they serve gourmet ice cream flavors. They round out their sales with a variety of gourmet nut butters, bagged coffee, jam. Service is friendly and reasonably quick.

Yelp
Overpriced food as any airport, I had the egg, ham & cheese sandwich, but it was not good

Yelp
I LOVE bread everything about it is amazing!! Every single piece of bread you get will delight your tastebuds! One of my favorite things from there, are the scones and pain au chocolat! Its a must try if it is tour first time! There is also a really good selection of coffee right there, I always ask for a vanilla almond milk latte and is totally amazing!! What I like even better is that the bread is always freshly baked!

Yelp

Yelp
This is a really nice place to go have a latte or cappuccino and a scone, sit and use the wifi or have a conversation. Great alternative to Starbucks if you'd rather have a more local and authentic experience.

Yelp
Every time I travel to Monterrey, I go to Bread, I really like the muffins, scones, chocolate croissants, etc.....and they also have coffee, tea, chocolate, and other good and healthy stuff....but they have terrible customer service! No one knows what they are doing! Not even the owner cares about customer service. You have to make a line to order, but they get busy doing other things and they let you standing in line for a long time. The other day I was waiting in line and a couple of ladies cut in line and they ordered first, helloooooo!!! I am here waiting my turn first!!! Also, the parking is very limited and, if you can get a spot, is like the song "Hotel California", you can get in anytime but you can never leave, you will understand when you get there, is better to look for a parking spot outside, but that also is very difficult. Overall the bread is good but the service sucks! Another example of a place that is popular only out of necessity and location.

Yelp
This artisan place offers the best baked pastries in Monterrey! The croissants, bread and chocolate cookies look amazingly freshly baked daily. The parking lot is quite small but worth driving to Bread for amazing pastries & coffee~
