The baked goods here are fantastic. From rustic breads that belong on the cover of magazines or some insta model's reel page to pastries that some celebrity chef would drool over this place delivers. The smell when walking in will capture your lizard brain cravings for fats and carbs immediately. The staff was helpful and gave recommendations based on their own preferences and was willing to explain what each offering was and its ingredients. We will be going again. It makes for a fantastic destination for a weekend morning drive for a breakfast date with the lady. Parking is abysmal so exercise some patience.

Google
Love the artisan breads and pastries offered here. I got the breakfast Danish and a coffee, only offer an 8oz drip coffee. Not sure if you can get the pastries fresh/warm, but they may be slightly better if you can. Either way, it was still delicious. Wish I lived closer and could be a regular.

Google
Nice local bakery in Edison with a good amount of bread and pastries to choose from. They also sell cookies and flour. If you like to collect stickers be sure to ask them for one. There is nice easy parking on the side of the streets right near the bakery.

Google
Simply the best sourdough you're ever going to get anywhere. That coming from someone that's lived decades in San Francisco and Seattle. The rest of the baked goods are also great. Very pretty too. Maybe French inspired outside of the bread.

Travis Alldredge

Google
The bread is great They have a good selection of different bread and sweets/pastries . I love the atmosphere. It's everything an artisan bakery should be.

Google
Ginger cinnamon shortbread, six cookies in a $10 bag. My friend would give this a 4 stars. The cookie has ginger flavor. It was pretty tough to but bit into, I like softer cookies. You ordered at the window, only to go. There is no picture of cookies because i did not think it needed one.

Google
Stunning, delicious creations. Their foccacia is 10/10, literally one of the best things I have ever eaten.

Google
We ordered a couple of lattes and some pastries for breakfast. We were rudly informed "We're not an espresso bar" but they did have $4.50 a cup drip coffee. We like to go to bakeries, this is the only one in recent memory that didn't serve lattes ot mocha. Super hight priced pastries and small portions. Not a big fan of the egg in the ham and cheese pastries. We got sucked in and bought the overpriced coffees too. Won't cater to this place again.

Yelp
Our first labor day weekend adventure; we headed up to the quant town of Edison and stumbled upon the "BreadFarm". Simply said, amazing yummies. We will put this in our mo they line up to get fresh baked bread and goodies.

Yelp
Adorable, tasty, friendly- all the things you'd want in a local bakery. They had many types of shortbread cookies which were fun flavors! We chose the hazelnut espresso ones and they did not disappoint! They weren't overly sweet and were the perfect crunch. We will be back!

Yelp
Yum yum yum. Do I need to say more?? Great hearty and rustic bread selection that is fresh daily, pastries and cookies as well. Cozy little spot in a cute town. Friendly counter service too!

Yelp
We were driving to Samish Island, and happened to spot Breadfarm as we passed through Edison. There were so many tempting items to choose from, it took me too long to decide! I bought 1 Potato Leek Danish ($6.50), 1 Savory turnover ($6), 1 Fruit (blueberry) Danish $5.50, and 1 Tonasket 100% rye bread ($9.50). Service was genuine, small-town friendly, which is just so pleasant. (They do not accept tips, but they do have a donation jar for a local charity organization that changes monthly). We both loved the blueberry Danish, among the best non-chocolate desserts we've had. Oh, my, that was so good! My husband said the potato leek Danish was very tasty, but not worth the calories/fat for him. I liked both the Danish, and the savory turnover (which had some sort of thinly sliced meat strips and melted cheese). They were both special treats that I wouldn't normally have, but was glad I did. We enjoyed the 100% rye bread ("Tonasket") for a week or more. We were hoping, as it's listed as being "naturally leavened", that it would have had a sourdough flavor, but it did not. It did have a nice, strong rye flavor, though, and we both liked the density (of what they jokingly referred to as "The Brick"). One thing we didn't know until after we ordered it, was that it was not baked fresh today, like all their other breads. It was previously baked, and kept in the refrigerator. Prices were quite reasonable. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area, and even worth going out of your way a bit if you enjoy fresh, tasty, unique bakery goods.

Yelp
It's been four years since I told you how much I love Breadfarm. A recent visit has not changed, only deepened that love. From the beautiful, consistently good staff / service to the baked goods that could bring a grown woman to tears (almond bostok, I'm looking at you) Breadfarm has it all. The Chuckanut multigrain is the stuff of dreams. You'll always be worth a trick to Edison, thanks for being so good.

Yelp
I love finding reasons to detour through Edison so I can stop by Breadfarm. Their bread has the best crust and texture of any in Skagit or Whatcom counties. I don't often get sweet baked goods, but their pastries and cookies are outstanding. Go grab yourself something for now, a loaf to go (I often freeze half for later since they're very big) and enjoy!
google avatar

Krysten R.

Yelp
10/10! Purchased a loaf of the table bread so I could serve some delicious crusty sourdough with homemade chowder and it was everything I dreamed of. I can't wait to branch out and try some of their other goods in the near future!

Yelp
This place is fantastic. Everything they make is good. After I finish one I want another immediately. The service is amazing- fast and friendly and the ambiance is quaint and cute.

Yelp
I will ALWAYS go out of my way for their espresso shortbread, NO QUESTION ok it seems you need a little more details than that so lets say that I was so overwhelming disappointed to not see them at the bellingham farmers market when I decided a scenic ride up north was just what my weekend needed that when we were driving "sorta" close to them during another scenic drive (huh i'm sensing a theme here) that my husband asked oh so casually "breadfarm?" and this ladies and gents I got my amazingly yummy buttery and coffee-ee? cookies YUM!!! oh and they take card now (not just cash)
google avatar

Yelp
Love the potato bread! They had a seasonal blueberry Bakewell tart when I was there that was excellent too.

William R.

Yelp
Have loved this place for years. A little far out there in a beautiful rural village. Breads and treats are excellent. Staff excellent on a recent vist. Worth a visit

Yelp
Boutique bakery with a wide selection of breads and pastries. Order at the window and wait a minute for your choice to arrive. The bread is fresh and delicious and this town is a great little foodie destination with artisan bread, cheese, beer and a few nice eateries.

Yelp
Beautiful day today for a drive up north to Bow/Edison. Was absolutely floored by a stop in at Breadfarm. They mill all of their own grains and the variety of bake stuffs would blow your mind. Convenient location off of the main road, with both a walk-in ordering area with display cases, and a walk-up ordering window with pictures of all of the amazing 'fat-pills' they have available! We browsed, and then ordered from the window. Everyone working there was passionate about the product, and making sure we were having a great experience. We grabbed an Almond-Bostock, a Kouign-amann, and a sleeve of Hazelnut Espresso Shortbread. Bostock was a heavenly pastry with an almond center, and the Kouign-amann may have been the best pastry I've ever tasted; think of a buttery croissant rolled into a muffin pan that is filled with a caramel that tastes something like an elevated, natural, Worthers. Sweet Jesus! The shortbread is not to be missed. The flavor of the freshly milled grains and local butter are so welcome, and the cookies are not overly sweet in any way. Perfect for a cup of tea or cappuccino! Will be back!!

Yelp
We popped in for a "walking snack." We grabbed a potato leek danish and an apple cardamom danish. Both were amazing! It's an adorable spot with lots of bread options. They had cookies and some cakes packaged to go. Staff were super friendly and quickly worked through the line. I didn't see anywhere to sit so it's pretty much all to go.

Yelp
Glorious carbs! Breadfarm is the place to get them. Mostly sourdough based breads that taste divine. But also cookies, danish pastries and other baked goods. It's not cheap, but it's good, possibly the best. And handmade right there using as much local ingredients as possible. You can even get a cup of coffee to go with your cookies. If you want the most assortment to choose from I would recommend coming early in the day, or preorder online a few days in advance. The latter is especially important around holidays. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and there is always a donation jar for a local good cause. Although the place is small, I appreciate that you can go inside as well as picking up from the outside window.
google avatar

Marissa L.

Yelp
My cousin took me here during my last day in Washington so we could pick up a snack. Some of the bread she bought online that we just picked up, but I also ordered something that I saw on the menu that was available. There was a bit of a line and we had to wait a few minutes to order. You order at a window outside and just take whatever you got with you. This place is located in a cute little town with a lot of art shops and local restaurants, so I'd recommend getting your bread and then walking around. I got a cinnamon snail bread and a potato and leek danish. I also bought one of their shirts because I thought they were unique. Their shirts say "make bread not war," on them. I ate the cinnamon snail bread first, while we walked around town. It was like if a croissant made a baby with a cinnamon roll, super tasty and flakey. I ate my potato and leek danish later that day while I was at the airport and it was the best danish I've ever had. The rosemary really popped and the cheese gave the bread a nice salty flavor. The potatoes gave the danish a unique texture and made it more filling. I wish I had gotten two instead of one.

Yelp
I don't remember how I found them on Insta but even driving off track en route to Anacortes, there's a line in this tiny town to order here. Service is quick though, watching menu photos disappear as people order in front of you. You stay outside an order window and appreciate the well-maintained honey bucket while they gather your order together. The pastries, especially the almond-based ones, are SO great! The unique almond bostock was a double layer of incredible--as was the flaky flavor of the almond croissant. I wasn't as impressed with the chocolate in the chocolate twists, but the flavor of the croissant dough is still tasty. The cocoa nib shortbread is also delish, and my honey hadn't had Cafe Umbria Nitro cold brew before, so that was a surprise find!

Yelp
Get here early before all the good stuff runs out! My bf and I are obsessed with the potato and leek danish. It's so flakey, airy and light. I love the onion and chive cream cheese and the sliced potatoes. It tastes even better the next day if you air fry it which makes the potatoes crispy. We also tried the coconut macaroons and they were incredible! Crispy on the outside but soft and chewy on the inside. So so good. It's not too sweet either. Service was great! We got a complimentary croissant because it was "too small". It's definitely one of the better croissants that I've eaten. This might be one of my fave bakeries ever! I just wish there was seating inside and that it wasn't so far from the city.

Yelp
Best. Chocolate. Croissant. Ever. Everyone needs to stop here in Edison! Cute walk up window with friendly staff and the yummiest of treats to eat.

Margaret J.

Yelp
We first visited Breadfarm in 2011. Their products are still delicious as ever. Thank You for amazing products.
google avatar

Maria J.

Yelp
My husband and I, we are officially obsessed with breadfarm. Everything we have tried is fantastic! The pastries, to their homemade bread, to their cookies everything! The service is really quick and the girls who has helped us during our visits have been polite which I appreciate. If you are looking for clean ingredients you have to try them! The ambiance is super cute as well!

Troy K.

Yelp
Love the bran muffins, so good. Other amazing pastries, cranberry tart. Nice kombucha selection. Great bread and pastries.
google avatar

JT T.

Yelp
Nice little bakery in Bow Edison. You just walk up to the window to order. Pastries, bread, and some coffee/drinks as well. Everything seemed fresh. The person working at the window was nice as well. There are a couple picnic tables in the back overlooking the water. Nice place to stop while on a bike ride.
google avatar

Mike V.

Yelp
I only stopped by here once but it was good! We got macaroons (very delicious) and chocolate ginger cookies (also very delicious). Unfortunately it was raining and you order from a window. But, if you check out my pictures you will see a finger. The finger is meant to point out where to push the doorbell for service. I just thought it was a "pull my finger" situation. Definitely worth the stop!
google avatar

Kevin E.

Yelp
This was our first trip to Edison and thus our first experience with Breadfarm. We snagged the last Blueberry Almond Tart - how lucky we were. This little guy was amazing. I'm already thinking about when we can make the 2 hour trip again. Next time I will get another tart and try the bread.
google avatar

Marie B. J.

Yelp
Yummy chocolate square cookies with chocolate ganache. And, I liked both the chocolate croissant and butter croissants. I was there in off season and had no issue with parking, customer service was friendly and helpful. One complaint - I've note ever paid $5.00 for a croissant in all my travels. So, I wasn't happy with the prices here. Quality was good but not for the expense.

Yelp
Located in the small village of Edison, WA, this bakery offers fresh baked pastries & bread. They use locally sourced ingredients, including Samish River potatoes and free-range eggs from Skagit Valley! Everything I tried was so good and each bite made me crave more of it. They have several pastries and breads to choose from. If you stop by, you need to try both! My favorites we are the almond-bostock, apple danish, and samish river potato bread. This is a must try spot if you're ever nearby!
google avatar

K J.

Yelp
Walk up window service only. Expensive for what it is. 6 cookies were $10. Lots of hype. No outdoor seating-interior is not open to you. Service was fast though.
google avatar

Michele S.

Yelp
Yes please! I love to visit Bow-Edison for coffee and a treat from Breadfarm, and as the name suggests, one or more loaves of bread. They used to sell their bread a bit further south at the co-op in Mount Vernon, but I haven't seen it recently. So unless you are going up as far as the co-op or farmers market in Bellingham, their quaint shop is place to visit. Plus the town is very sweet to visit!
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Now that we live in Bellingham, it reminds me of getting a fresh loaf from a place that no longer exists in Port Townsend, but this is better! Awesome bread and pastries, topped off by friendly staff.

Louis W.

Yelp
Everything is great. Coffee, bread, pastries, service. Outdoor tables are a nice community gathering spot. Highly recommend.

Sharon P H.

Yelp
lol the best bread in western WA. We love it and always buy more than we can eat So wasteful to

Yelp
The only way to improve on the absolute perfection of Breadfarm's amazing pastries and breads, so precisely up the street of people who love quality, real food and a refreshing break from the usual bakery onslaught of white sugar and cheap ingredients... would be if they opened a cafe where you could nestle in cozy bliss to enjoy their wares - but that would be a whole different business to layer on to what already, for me, as I've said, is perfection. Edison has many other alluring delights to offer, from the scenery to shops & galleries selling all kinds of cool stuff, but the trek out there is 100% worth it for a Breadfarm run (especially since you can't get their bread at the Skagit Co-op anymore. My top pain au chocolat (chocolate croissant, to us Yanks) in the whole state, if not the world.

Michele D.

Yelp
We love the bread and pastries. Always fresh and delish. We order online using their user friendly website. Our order is always ready for pickup when we arrive. So nice that the items we want are available. Customer service with a smile every time
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
Pre-gamed a day in the Skagit valley with Breadfarm. We ordered from their window (no inside area or seating available) and were luck there was no line. We got three items - blueberry danish, almond bostock, spinach & tomato breakfast tart. All were good but the almond bostock was the standout. We also brought home a loaf of their olive bread, which was pretty good. Prices were really high - the cookies were over $1 each for a tiny little guy. Unfortunately we had to / chose to eat out back by the dumpsters and canal, but pickings were slim.

Melissa S.

Yelp
We were staying on Whidbey Island for vacation and took the hour and a half journey to this place and it was worth it! Most delicious pastries! Friendly service as well. I made the choice to preorder when they first opened and I'm glad I did because the pastries sell out fairly quickly. I highly recommend this place.
google avatar

Doris W.

Yelp
We swung in here on the way down from Bellingham to the tulip fields and I am so glad we stopped by Edison! This lil town was adorable! We walked into BreadFarm on a rainy Saturday morning and were the only ones in there. The store itself is small and cute, with lots of good looking bread ready for you to take home! We got: - French Baguette (discounted that day b/c the baker said it came out softer than usual, I think 15% off of $4.50) - coconut macaroons $1/each - dog treats We ate the coconut macaroons right away and I thought they were delicious. We finished the baguette last night with some Samish Bay cheese and that was also delicious! Overall, I would definitely come by here again!
google avatar

Erin M.

Yelp
Driving south down Chuckanut on a rainy morning is one of my favorite things, only made better by fresh bread from Breadfarm in Bow! They have their store set up for Covid-safe ordering with a covered window on the side for outdoor ordering and a pick up spot out front. We got the Parisian baguette and their special kalamata olive ciabatta bread both of which were amazing but gobbled up by the family before we had time to get pictures. Both loaves had a perfectly crunchy outer crust with a fluffy inside and the ciabatta had a generous amount of whole olives stuffed inside. Make this a stop on your way south, you wont regret it!
google avatar

Brittany Z.

Yelp
Great place to stop for coffee and pastries if you're in the area. Service is friendly. Prices are a little obscene. $9 for a loaf of bread. We head to Bow ~once or twice per year so it's not a detrimental splurge, but if I ever lived near by I would likely not be a regular customer.
google avatar

Anya M.

Yelp
We loved the pastries and the online ordering is super convenient! Make sure you wake up early to put in your order.
google avatar

Paulette E.

Yelp
I have found my new lazy morning pastry Mecca. I've tried just about everything on the menu and it's delicious. Nice variety of pastries, cookies and bread. I see a lot of negative reviews from a few years ago regarding not taking credit cards and rude customer service - That does not reflect current practices. They have a convenient online ordering system and we're extremely pleasant to work with! There were folks visiting from Seattle when I went and they were treated with the same respect and kindness. My experience with the bread has been great!
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
We caught up with them at the Saturday farmer's market in Anacortes. Really nice lady running the booth. Got a sliced loaf of their whole wheat bread. 10:30 a.m. and we snagged their last loaf. Huge! $10.25 but well worth it. One of the best loaves of bread ever. We have it every night to make avocado toast.
google avatar

Emily G.

Yelp
They're open during the pandemic through an order/pickup window on the side! Masks required. Here's a picture. We got a sourdough and two croissants and both were very good. Should've taken a picture of the croissants, but they were gone before we got home.
google avatar

D. W.

Yelp
Super friendly employee at window. To die for coconut macaroons. Wife got Blueberry tart thing. Also a large bread to take home. All was great. Will be coming back.
google avatar

Jami L.

Yelp
Who doesn't love this place?! The best baguette and potato bread in NW Washington. Grab a pastry or two and do not share!

James K.

Yelp
Best baguette in the PNW! Great pastries too, but a good baguette is really hard to find.
google avatar

Tony R.

Yelp
Breadfarm has become a frequent stop when driving through the area. Often I'm taking a scenic route on the way to Schuh Farms and until recently haven't had the nerve to try them out. So far, every item has been good. Sliced loaves, palmiers, cookies in many varieties. All well prepared and fresh. Prices are a bit high, but this is to be expected considering the artisanal approach to their offerings. I will say that the stone ground loaf was huge. I didn't end up finishing all of it, but was satisfied with the flavor and texture of their bread. Expect a more prevalent flavor compared to standard store bought sliced bread. It can be enjoyed simply toasted in its own. (But even better slathered in garlic butter...) Favorite item: chocolate cookie sandwiches
google avatar

Sam B.

Yelp
Legit mind blowingingly good pasties. I would fly across the country for that rhubarb danish. Flakiest, lightest, crunchiest French pastries ever. Immediately yes.
