I love love love this place! The sandwiches are so simple but the ingredient pairings are just chefs kiss ✨ Tommy really knows what he’s doing. My typical go to is the Ironwood with turkey and I like to get the 43rd Ave as a dessert sandwich 😋 The 43rd isn’t always on the menu but I can confirm that they always have the ingredients.

My girlfriend and I visited Breadlam for the first time over the weekend on an invite to try them out. I got three of their fancy sandwiches: Beef Blvd, 43rd Ave and Holder. My girlfriend can't eat things that are too high in carbs and sugar (she's diabetic), so she was able to order Beef Blvd as a salad bowl. She lives for spicy food, so she was really excited about the spicy mayo. It had a nice kick to it. I really appreciated all the drink options. I dislike places that only offer fountain drinks and plastic bottled waters. Breadlam had such a large variety of canned and glass bottled beverages to choose from. There was both flat and sparkling water as well as fancy lightly sweetened soft drinks from Sanzo. I have a sweet tooth so I was excited about my 43rd and Holder sandwiches. I enjoyed 43rd Ave a lot but Holder was too much, even for a sugar fiend like me. I ended up scraping up most of the membrillo and honey off it but it was still overly sweet for me. I wouldn't get it again but I'm glad I got to try it. I definitely recommend the Beef Blvd and 43rd Ave though. The high quality ingredients and thoughtful flavor combinations really stuck out. In addition to the fact that all the sandwiches can be made into low-carb salad bowls, both vegetarian and vegan options are offered as well. I love that they try to cater to as many dietary preferences as possible. The sandwiches are a little on the pricier side but you have to consider the location (in the middle of the Arts District), so it isn't cheap to operate a business there. The shop itself was small but there was a nice little outside dining area (about four tables, I think). My girlfriend was so happy with her experience there. Parking is tough. It's hard to find street parking, so you usually end up in a paid lot just for the time and convenience. The owner was really great, super friendly, provided great service. Overall, from quality of food to ambiance, I would recommend and revisit this shop.

I’ve been on a sandwich expedition across LA to find the best shops out there. I stumbled across this place off a friend’s recommendation and I think it worth the visit. Their roast beef sandwich was 👌👌. But if there were Michelin rating for sandwiches, I’d say this is just a Michelin-recommended, not a 1-3 star. Good quality and good people tho!

My problem with this place is that I intend to save the other half of a sandwich for later, but cannot resist finishing. I have to force myself to leave the room. Shame on you all for inhibiting my self-control! Very upsetting! I will be contacting the Better Business Bureau.

Used to work around the corner, and this is my go-to place for lunch. Food: amazing sandwiches. Off the regular menu, Beef Blvd is my favorite. Valencia is my favorite vegi/vegan option. For their specials, Sweet Blue is hands down the best. The cheese, meat, greens, and bread are always fresh. Get the pickels! Service: always polite and prompt. They are essentially a three person team from what I have seen. Calling in an order or online is recommended if you plan around lunch (12:00 to 1:00 pm). Atmosphere: is great. They just absorbed the boutique next to them, so they now have some indoor seating

Pretty straightforward sandwich with good quality ingredients. We got the 5th Avenue, which is pretty great, and the Mount Vernon, which is good but a bit salty. It does what is set to do. Will come back.

I ordered the mozzarella with pesto sandwich, I decided to add a little turkey meat into mine and it was delicious! The service was quick, less than 5 mins from when I ordered.

This is my first time eating here. I love a good sandwich. This sandwich was... fine. I'm not a fan of chewy bread. If you are, that's fine. That's not my thing. I ordered The Ridge which contains ROASTED TURKEY, AGED CHEDDAR, AVOCADO, OLIVE OIL, GREENS. Also comes with a side of those small cornichons. Overall, the sandwich was okay. The cheddar was way overpowering and couldn't really taste the turkey which didn't really have much flavor in the first place. Guac is guac, but it also causes the sandwich to become a slipper mess. One bite and the inside spills out as is common. Again, the bread, while it was delicious, is also chewy which is a big turnoff on deli sandwiches for me. Could have been better. Maybe I tried the wrong thing, but this didn't work out for me.

I've had many tuna sandwiches in my day. I'd consider myself a connoisseur even. When I say this has been one of my favorite tuna sandwiches, I am committing to the truth of that, and am willing to die on this hill. Please eat this sandwich. Please. The wasabi mayo is so good.

Quick service and fresh ingredients with a good variety in the menu. They also have a few daily specials as well. Ordered the Raymond, which is a Turkey sandwich on ciabatta bread - the bread was very soft and the sandwich good. Seating available is both indoors and along the sidewalk. Street parking is always a chore in the Arts District unfortunately.

Stopped by for lunch on a weekday. Service was quick and the guy helping us was great. Got the York and Colorado. There are places to sit inside and outside the sandwich shop and the ambiance is simple yet quirky/cute. Both sandwiches tasted super fresh with crunchy/soft bread. The only negative is that I felt like the York was way too saucy, making the sauce overpower all the other ingredients.

Can I just say... I love you guys so much . Every sandwich here is like a journey to another dimension of flavor. I really appreciate the unique combinations--it's next level!

I live close by and never knew that this was located here since it closes at 4PM. I'm sure I'm not the only one that missed it walking by! Their menu is not extensive, and I was recommended to try the 5th Avenue which comes with prosciutto. You get to choose the bread to go with (ciabatta, baguette, multigrain). I went with the ciabatta, and it was okay. I wish they had toasted the bread, or at least offered the option. The prosciutto was not bad, but I wish there was more of it or a bit less on the other toppings to not overpower the prosciutto taste. Wasn't a fan of the Raymond... Turkey tends to be on the dry side, so that was on me for ordering it. The roasted tomatoes were very nice though. The sandwiches do come with pickles on the side! Parking is tough in the area. Good luck with street parking, paid lots is probably the best way to go.

Does Breadlam allow doggos? Yes, they have a small but cute outdoor area. I remember Breadlam's early days in 2019 when it was a one-man show led by Tommy, the owner. I'm thrilled to see the place not only survive the pandemic but thrive. Tommy's remarkable creations and welcoming attitude truly deserve the success. The consistent quality and flavor since its opening make it my favorite neighborhood sandwich shop. My personal favorites are: Raymond, Cabrillo, and Mt. Vernon. The airy ciabatta and all the ingredients make for a delightful combination. I love the simplicity of all of their sandwiches. I also enjoy trying their daily specials, such as Winter in Paris. You can turn any of their sandwiches into a salad. They also make charcuterie boards. They used to only have outdoor seating in front of the shop. Now they have expanded and have tables indoor, as well. Overall, I highly recommend Breadlam for a quick bite or casual eats.

WTF happened to this place. Use to be amazing until they recently changed the menu and double the price. Definitely lost us as customers. Absolutely HORRIBLE.

This is a small little sandwich restaurant in the arts district. They have great sandwich options including vegetarian. They make the sandwich bread in house (ciabatta). They give you small pickles (Gherkins) which are very tasty. They told me they do run out of bread so they close down when they do. So I recommend to show up early or you will miss out. Good thing is they are open 7 days a week.

Stopped in on a whim. Very simple menu. Asked the guy working for his recommendation and ordered the roast beef. It was so good. It wasn't oily or goopy with tons of olive oil or horseradish sauce. It was so fresh and light. I will be definitely coming back. Great place if you are just looking for something lite and simple.

This sandwich place is unreal. It took me by surprise how amazing their sandwiches are. The ingredients are high quality and fresh. The combination of ingredients is carefully created and tastes amazing! I can't compare it to any other sandwich spot because it doesn't compare. I tried the 5h Avenue sandwich and the Raymond sandwich. Both were served on fresh soft chibatta bread. Both sandwiches had amazing flavor! I would get either of them again. The 5th Avenue sandwich had awesome basil flavor with a thick piece of aged Gouda cheese. All sandwiches are $12. They sell until sold out so you have to get there earlier in the day before they are gone. I loved these sandwiches so much! I look forward to visiting Breadlam again!

I've lived in the Art's District for twenty years. I don't remember when Breadlam opened but hadn't tried it because I didn't realize how incredible their vegan options could be! Today we tried the Valencia. I highly recommend it. The service is outstanding too. I called in my order and although they were busy I didn't wait long at all. I didn't realize they were cash only and they allowed me to call home for a card number and were very helpful and kind. Indoor and outdoor seating. Peaceful place to eat and relax.

I come here pretty much every day on my lunch break and it's a joy to eat every time. They have a wide variety of sandwiches on their menu (sweet, spicy, etc) + the daily specials. Perfect portions, reasonably priced, and baby pickles on the side :D The team behind the sandwiches is so efficient and unbelievably kind. I honestly can't recommend it enough. I would gatekeep but they truly deserve all the love. current favorite: the valencia

Pleasantly surprised! Been on a little sandwich kick and ordered the Beef Blvd. The bread was soft with the perfect chew, and the sandwich had a decent amount of beef and fresh mozzarella. The lettuce and onion added a fresh crunch alongside the creamy mayo, which was delicious and had just the right amount of spice. Looking forward to trying more of the menu!

Recently I have been coming here like almost once a week. Their meat and bread quality is good. And the portion is big. These sandwiches will definitely fill you up. My favorite Sandwich is Geary. It has truffle mousse pate and prosciutto. The mousse was smooth and not heavy. Prosciutto was not too salty . My second choice of sandwich is the Raymond. It comes with Roasted Turkey. The Turkey was good, moist not dry. It also has tomato mayo and roasted tomato which level up the deliciousness very well. I'm a healthier bread fan. So I always get my sandwich with multi grain bread. It's texture is good..soft and bouncy. There are special sandwiches of the day. If you wanna be special, check the special menu before order. It is always special yummy. Employees/owner are so nice and friendly. Good service even though it is self service! You can order thru their website and come pick it up. This place is really a small pick up place and they have about 3 or 4 tables outside to sit....so don't bring a giant party here...lol. Giant order for take out is fine...haha Oh...I saw some people comparing this place to Bread Lounge. Honestly, they're different. Of course , it's a given Bread Lounge will have stellar bread....and they do!! But their sandwiches have been a little inconsistent lately...and I'm liking Breadlam better ....at any rate...why not have 2 choices for good sandwiches..no need to pick just one. Street Parking only.. any credit card accepted!

Just moved into the neighborhood not too long ago and usually have Sammie's for lunch. Our go-to before was subway - yes, i said subway bc we literally lived across the street from one and it was the only place walking distance to get sandwiches from. Well. After moving to arts district and Yelp reviews, found Breadlam. Their sandwiches are SO GOOD! very comparable to Larchmont wine & cheese (a local FAV)! 2nd time here and got the Raymond and it was delicious. Definitely my go-to spot for weekly Sammie's. They even have an assortment (small) of New York seltzers (iykyk).

My first time and it was excellent. The spread on the ciabatta for the Geary was to die for! Great sandwich and I'm definitely coming back.

This place cares about quality and artistry. All the ingredients are top-notch. Creative mind using charcuterie elements to make top-tier sandwiches is a gift to the Arts district of Los Angeles. As a more satisfied customer, I salute you. The Raymond is a killer. Only note would be the consistency of made sandwiches. I've had the Raymond multiple times, and the amount of sauce is either light and appropriate or dripping all over me with not enough napkins.

Breadlam has some great sandwiches in the arts district in DTLA. The bread for the sandwiches is fantastic and probably my favorite part of the whole sandwich. It's a small spot with some outdoor seating. A great place if you want a cohesive, fresh and good quality sandwich! The Raymond is the go to sandwich - it's tangy and wholesome and just yummy. Bonus for the delicious cornichons on the side and the fluffy ciabatta. It tastes like they thought about each component of the sandwich. There's some days you want a big Italian sub and some days you want a lighter, fresher sandwich with big flavor and lovely ingredients - and that's what you get at Breadlam!

Pretty great so far. Every time I go the service is quick and friendly. I've tried a few sandwiches so far and each of them are amazing every time. Definitely worth the money and trip.

I wanted to like Breadlam way more, but compared to Bread Lounge (which is my new current favorite place), I thought that Breadlam was just average. I actually initially wanted to go to Breadlam, but they do have limited hours and that's when I discovered Bread Lounge. I finally was able to make it on time during a random Sunday afternoon. I have been craving a prosciutto sandwich, so I opted for the 5th Ave. The employee that was working there was super nice. I ordered and was in and out in about 5 minutes. I thought that the sandwich was just OK. The roasted tomato was a little overpowering and made the sandwich a little too salty for me (and I LOVE salty things). The bread was pretty good though (I got mine on a ciabatta). I also have to say for what I got, I thought the sandwich was a little pricey. With Bread Lounge so close to Breadlam and with longer hours, I am not sure if I will come back to Breadlam. For anyone that does go here, some logistics. There is no parking here, so you will have to find street parking (which is pretty horrendous). I actually just parking in a loading zone and since I was in and out in less than 10 minutes, I was OK. There is also limited seating outside for those that do want to eat there.

Visited Breadlam while friends and I were in the Art's district. Overall, I think they have fun sandwiches named after cities and famous locations. Their ingredients tasted fresh and were delicious. I got the salad version because Breadlam ran out of bread! Just my luck - the staff told me they only received half their order for the day. I enjoyed my 5th ave salad. There was a good amount of prosciutto and olives. I think the prices are a little steep for what it is and for not being a "dine in" experience - but being in the location, I understand.

Breadlam is a hidden gem in the arts district. Can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My personal favorites are Beef, Glendale, and Mount Vernon. Great place to get a quick bite and enjoy the quaint ambiance of the arts district.

Highly recommend getting the sandwiches extra toasted - 10/10! One of my go to lunch staples.

The Bottom Line: Do you love charcuterie? Did you wish the cured meats and cheese you enjoy on top of a wooden board were in a sandwich? Then look no further! This unique concept makes it a stand-out destination in LA's Arts District. All I have to say is that this place was so good we lunched there two days in a row. On the first visit, I had a Mount Vernon, and the following visit I had the Glendale. Both featured different varieties of salami and both were paired well with their respective cheeses. I give the edge to the Mount Vernon with its olive spread. Honestly, I feel like you can't go wrong with any of the sandwiches here. I think my intro says it all: the shop has a great collection of meats and cheese that you can order as a plate to share, but the real magic is when you combine these items with a nice ciabatta roll to make a killer sammie. Pro Tip: It's a small storefront with very limited seating outside so you may want to get this one to-go.

Delicious sandwiches! Great if you're on the go and they also have a couple of tables outside if you're lucky enough to grab one. I've been here multiple times and the costume service is always superb! The Ironwood is my go to favorite but I've also had the Masonic and Raymond, also excellent choices. The bread is fresh! You can tell all of their ingredients are top-notch! And the little side of baby pickles are a nice touch.

Is bread a hidden gem? Well it should be at Breadlam... This amazing shiny local biz is one of my new favs and not just because the food is excellent, but because of the layout and killer service as well. Amazing safety and health practices and a well spaced out inviting and shady patio area out front for dinning. B-Lam is doing it right! They have so many great bread covered foodie options... Being a sandwich joint and all. A solid vegan option or two actually, with the options of customizing any sandwich to your wants and needs. Plenty of chips, snacks and beverages (like seltzer, water, kombucha and many others) to pair with your meal. That Masonic of there's is Supersuponic! Cibatta, Avocado, Peppadews, Balsamic, Greens, Olive Oil, Tomato and a melting of flavors I'm still tasting days later.... I'm eyeing the Valencia for next time! This perfect lunch spot can carry over to an early dinner or even a savory meal to store in the fridge for the next day,... Though the food is so fresh you'll want to enjoy it immediately... Especially with beyond quality sandwiches at a very reasonable price compared to other places in the area and in LA. Parking can be an adventure, but even if you don't nab anything close the area is so scenic and inviting, you definitely won't mind... Especially not for Breadlam!

We came in recently for lunch and our taste buds were left satisfied! Breadlam is a little gourmet sandwich shop in the heart of Art District in DTLA. I ordered the Raymond and my hubby got the Beef Blvd. I fully enjoyed my Raymond and it was the perfect size! I hate messy sandwiches and the Raymond was perfect. It has roasted turkey, comte cheese, mustard, tomato mayo and lotsa fresh greens! The two best part of the sandwich to me was the comte cheese and the ciabatta bread! The bread was soft pillow like, and it was my first time tasting delicious comte cheese! The comte is semi-hard, and salty sweet at the same time. And if you are thirsty, there are plenty of choices for drinks! I was actually a bit overwhelmed with all the choices but I decided to try the can of Olipop and hubby got the bottle of orange cream soda. Covid safety was in place, all workers wore masks and only one customer inside at a time. There are complimentary 4 hour street parking around or meters within the arts district. A few small tables outside for dining however we took our sandwiches to-go. Here at Breadlam there is no uproar or confusion, just deliciousness and healthy sandwiches.

Wow this sandwich really hit the spot on a hot day. I got the 5th Ave. Its super refreshing and light and made me feel somewhat healthy haha. Loved the combo of prosciutto, the sun-dried tomato flavor, light oil dressing, and the cheese. Literally felt like a gourmet charcuterie board inside some fresh bread. Paired with the bottled Diet Coke this sandwich was just the perfect quick easy Saturday lunch. There's a few more things I want to try so I will be back!

I decided to stop by Breadlam for a quick lunch after walking around the Arts District area. It's a small and cute sandwich shop right across from the Salt and Straw. They provided seatings area outdoor so I was able to enjoy my sandwich along with the nice spring breeze. I really liked how they posted a big menu outdoor along with detailed descriptions of each sandwich. This menu was what initially captured my eye and made me decide to come. I ordered 5th Ave sandwich that was a perfect blend of prosciutto ham, roasted tomatoes, cheese, basil&greens. The flavors were so rich and made me feel like i was enjoying pasta on my sandwich. The bread was made crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. I really appreciated how the size was adequate instead of overwhelmingly big so I was able to finish everything in 1 sitting. Parking could be challenging, but highly recommend to find street parking since it's cheaper. I will definitely return to try their Ironwood next!!

Oooohhh Breadlam.... don't even get me started. I've been going here for a few months now every time I'm craving a sandwich. The other sandwich shops in LA don't even compare (except Bay Cities, but that's a different kind of sandwich I feel). I have tried many sandwiches from here and every single one of them has exceeded expectations. Breadlam has a special superpower of knowing what ingredients will be good together and then putting them into scrumptious sandwiches. Before getting into my specific sandwich reviews, let me just say that the service is impeccable too. The staff and owners are so kind and really truly just want to share the sandwich love! The food: my personal recommendation is to try to go with a friend so that you can get two sandwiches and try to because they are truly that good and you need to try them all. 5th Ave: One of my favorite sandwiches from here. The prosciutto and cheese ( I'm not sure which cheese) pairing is to die for, as well as the spread. It goes perfectly together and is so salty and savory, in the best way possible Raymond: This is a classic. It's turkey with a delicious cheese and the mustard and tomato mayo spread seriously gives it the most delicious taste. Love it Ploughman: I didn't even know I wanted a vegetarian sandwich until I had this one. Now I know it's all I need in life. The items that set this sandwich apart are the very thinly sliced cucumbers and the jelly spread on the bread. So fresh and tasty They also have daily flavors which always look very good. I haven't tried any yet because I always go back to my favorites, but I'll try and try them soon because they look delicious

So, right away I want to give Breadlam three stars. I think that a sandwich should be an economical affair. No matter how fancy the ingredients are it's pretty simple formula: bread + meat, everything else is kind of an add-on. The trend of fancied up sandwiches with pretty high prices are new and I'm definitely grumpy about it. Breadlam fits into that category and yet despite all the higher-end trappings it's still one of the tastier sandwiches I've had in LA. I've had the Mount Vernon and the Beef Boulevard and both times I've been skeptical about its size. They were both tasty, I'm a fan of their spicy mayo but I definitely need a little something something alongside it.

This place is so cute! This is my first time ever coming here, and I'm definitely not disappointed. I love how friendly and welcoming the area is, and also the staff of this cute café. First off, there is a lot of parking. Which is very important LOL. Second off, prices. Affordable. You get what you pay for. The sandwich it's self is so tasty! I ordered The Beef Boulevard, and I absolutely love it. It has a little spice to it, which definitely gives it a little kick. I just adore how cute the restaurant is too. I love how it's just free and open to anyone, who just wants to sit and relax. Nothing too fancy, nothing too crazy. But just a very chill vibe. And I think we need more chill vibes around here. No pressure of dressing up, or long lines. Just come, place your order grab it, and enjoy your meal. Sit there and enjoy the breeze with the sun, and maybe people watch as people walk by. I will definitely be returning to try the other sandwiches.

Super underrated. I'd say it's in the top 5 best sandwiches in LA. Food has always been consistent since pre COVID. People here are very nice and patient with the orders. Ambiance is in the arts district too so it has an open spacious seating room. I tried the 5th Ave and Raymond - both are the best sellers but heard all the other sandwiches are good too.

Pretty solid spot! It's right across our favorite ice cream spot in Arts District so we decided to try it out after our dessert, and glad we did. We checked out the today's special, the Brie grilled cheese with pickles, Dijon mustard and prosciutto--very yummy! I really enjoyed the bread, it gave it an awesome crunch and the tiny pickles were soo good. As for the 5th Ave sandwich, it was okay, but tasted very dry despite the olive oil and Gouda. Of the two, I would go back for the grilled cheese. Funnily, the today's special is not really a "price" special--all sandwiches are $12 but I guess it's more of an "ingredient" type of special. Overall, I would recommend if you're around and craving some hot sandwiches! Ps. They sell out on bread so make sure you hit the spot before the lunch rush. Also, only two small tables so you might have to do take out but there is some sitting under the tree.

Absolutely amazing handmade from scratch sandwiches by a local 2 man/woman team in the heart of LA's art district. They curate and select the best of artisan cured meats and hand selected cheeses from all over the world in between the freshest locally made bread. Service is what you would get from a small LA owners business...authentic. Don't be shy and ask the team for recommendations and or their thoughts on flavor combinations. The sandwich I had today was concocted last min and I was very happy with what they made.

This is one of those cute cafés when you come on the weekends, like you're about to throw down. I definitely enjoyed my experience, and my sandwich was banging. I got a chicken sandwich, and it was delish! I love how quick and easy everything is. Just park on the sidewalk, and then you go inside, place your order, get your sandwich, grab a drink maybe? And then sit outside and enjoy yourself. The portion size is very generous. The price is fair. The staff is VERY friendly. Definitely recommend this cute place to anyone. Come and unwind. Breadlam is open during COVID for takeout. We ordered the The Geary Sandwich and it was very tasty. It was almost like a charcuterie board wrapped up in a sandwich. It came with a side of cronichon which added a nice crunch (just as a pickle would). This is definitely your gourmet sandwich, as it's made with finer ingredients and a more complex flavor. Also tried the Olipop Ginger Lemon soda water and I actually quite liked it! My hubby wasn't a fan because of the stevia taste, but I didn't mind it. Overall, a solid sandwich joint. Friendly service, the fella who made our sandwich came out and checked on us a few times which was nice. Check them out if you need a quick and tasty bite.

Seated spaces are limited so I recommend ordering for pick up. Mt. Vernon - spicier thank you'd think 5th Ave - tastier than you'd expect Tiny pickles - if I had know how good these were, I would have bought one of their containers to go.

Love their sandwiches, fresh and tasty. I usually get the Masonic, meatless on a baguette.

Uhmm, Breadlam? More like BreadYum! Okay, that was corny, but whatever. My husband and I grabbed some lunch here one sunny afternoon, there was a good amount of people waiting in line. With only 2 people working - one person assembling sandwiches, the other at the register, I was impressed by their efficiency and friendliness. They interacted with customers, thanked us for our patience, and handled the constant flow of lunch rush customers smoothly. We tried the Geary and the Holder sandwich - hubby wanted savory, I was feeling something sweet. The first thing I noticed was the bread - holy bread! So fluffy, amazing chew, great flavor - I could eat an entire loaf on its own, I'm sure of it. The Geary had great flavor and reminded me of a Vietnamese banh mi - delicious. Truffle flavor elevated it greatly. The Holder was sweet and simple, a little honey drizzled throughout for some sweet and salty bites. Loved loved this. Don't sleep on this! I want to pick up a charcuterie tray sometime to try more of their stuff!

Sandwiches are 11 a piece, pretty comparable to Wax Paper (In Chinatown) Glad i don't have to drive to Chinatown for an awesome sub. I got the geary sandwich; which is Truffied Mousse Pate, Prosciutto (Hard to bite on since it doesnt tear), Peppadews, Cucumber, Spicy Mayo, Cilantro Kind of wish the bread was toasted, but that's probably not the intent. Sando itself is pretty packed with ingredients.
