This is our last review for today. We are so very highly tired and just crazy about our 8 hour sleep. However: we are two different sandwiches 🥪 from breads bakery. They were nice. Good job, keep on going, make us proud.

Hello, for the past 2 times I’ve gone to New York City, I’ve stopped by this place, and gotten a festive challah and a hot chocolate. The challah is probably the best challah I’ve ever had, and both times I’ve gotten the hot chocolate, it was the perfect temperature, not scalding, but not cold. I could drink it right away. I went both times in the winter, so it warmed me up. It is perfect for a little snack to carry around and nosh on. Very good.

Google
The service is spectacular - smiling faces even during rush hour with tons of locals and tourists all hungry in line. The food is pre-prepared (no surprise) but even heated up, the breakfast sandwich was cold. The latte was standard. If you’re in a hurry for ok breakfast near Bryant Park, this is a sure bet.

Google
The best chocolate babka I’ve ever had. It is so addictive. Always get the full loaf, you won’t regret it!! Worth every dollar 😍 Go in the morning and get the freshest one. The location’s cute!

Google
If I could give the service a zero star I would. Last week a couple of friends and I stopped by this Breads to pick up a chocolate babka. When we ordered the girl ran up for 2 loaves when we ordered one. She was polite enough to correct the error, and we paid. We waited on the side for about 10 minutes and went back to the window to inquire how much longer it would take for our order, that’s when one of the workers grabbed a loaf from the cart with and tossed it at us with an attitude. We were stunned that such action was taken when we were just patiently waiting for our order. I wouldn’t recommend going to the breads kiosk in Bryant park, if you want better service and warm chocolate babka go to the one in 30 Rock.

Google
Not everything advertised is available as breakfast, so look out. This seems to frustrate the staff members a lot, so might be a good idea to better signal this. Croissant and Pain au chocolates were decent but not more than that. Bureka and Babka are nice elements on the menu.

Google
This is a bakery at the North west corner of the Bryant Park, Manhattan. The location is convenient, next to the orange line of subway. The staff is friendly and the bakery is delicious. I like the almond croissant 🥐. It would be enjoyable to have a coffee with pastry in the park under the sunshine.

Google
Got real nasty food poisoning from their eggsalad sandwich. That was the only vegetarian option in the afternoon unfortunately - everything was out. I purchased it in the afternoon, and it probably hasn't been properly chilled, a dangerous proposition when it comes to eggs. Person at the counter was condescending and unfriendly too. This chain's glory days are unfortunately too far behind it, although some of the items in the other locations are still better than typical NYC fair.

Yelp
I went to their Bryant Park location while looking for breakfast one day. It's a small store at the corner of one their parks. I didn't know what to get so the staff were help and recommended the chocolate babka and spinach feta bureka. Upon tasting them, I was instantly a fan. I immediately finished the bureka on my walk back and upon getting to toast the chocolate babka, that was quickly devoured too. It was so good, I came back the next day to get another bureka and babka. The potato bureka I ordered came with black sesame in case anyone else has an allergy like me, so I also got a spinach feta bureka and again. I also got the bureka toasted at the counter which made it taste even better on the walk back. Unfortunately no pictures because I ate them too quickly. I can't wait to go back again.

Serious S.

Yelp
Excellent chocolate babka. Enjoyed their feta and feta spinach bureka as well. Short wait.

Tiffany C.

Yelp
The chocolate babka was decadent and overly sweet. But overall, decent! Breads bakery's pastries were great like the cinnamon roll pin wheel, plain croissant and a chocolate croissant.

Kaela M.

Yelp
Stopped here on the way to St Patrick's to get some coffee and a bite to eat. Husband and I shared a croissant and their cheesy bread, both of which were delicious! I recommend.

Brooke D.

Yelp
Stopped here to grab some breakfast and coffee and ended up loving the pastries I got. I forgot to take a picture but I got the spinach and feta burek which was so so yummy (I do wish it was warmed up though), a slice of chocolate babka which was delicious, and an iced latte which was pretty decent. The staff was super nice and we got our food very fast. I love the location of this spot since it is in the park and there is are so many spots to sit and enjoy your food. I would be a regular here if I lived in the area

Mark M.

Yelp
A tiny place in Bryant Park but excellent quality from this place. We had the almond croissant and it was delicious. Nice almost almond filling. The cinnamon bun has a croissant type texture and was really good as well.

Ling X.

Yelp
Some consider theirs the best babka in NYC. They aren't wrong. The last babkas I got from a couple of well known spots have been somewhat dry. Breads' is moist and rich. More of a line and less selection of baked goods than other locations because this is a kiosk at Bryant Park, but I didn't wait too long. They even had a seasonal apple babka for Rosh Hashanah and I was able to get both chocolate and apple without issue

April L.

Yelp
The location is on the corner of Bryant Park and it is a little kiosk/stand store so not much ambience to comment on but even though it is tiny, service is efficient and fast. I got some plain croissants and they were oh so buttery, crispy and flaky! Perfect to eat while sitting in the park. This little kiosk store may not have as much selections as a bigger Breads Bakery store, though they do have all the yummy basics and most loved items!

Jonathan K.

Yelp
Babka bread was sweet, and almost too sweet. A slice actually comes as a big chunk, which is slightly hard to split with others, but it is quite a dense piece that will satisfy one person. They include lots of chocolate inside the babka, and it melted quickly on the warm summer day. Overall, babka was good, kinda too sweet for me, and I probably wouldn't get it again. Maybe other people with a sweet tooth would like it more.

Gunjan ..

Yelp
World's BEST CHOCOLATE BABKA! This babka strikes the ideal balance: it's moist, fluffy, and oozing with chocolate goodness. The friendly staff is a cherry on top. This dessert easily tops my city favorites list. When I don't want to commit to a full Babka, I opt for the Rugelach. It's not an exact match but hits the right spot for those cravings.

Marianne W.

Yelp
Breads Bakery Bryant Park Kiosk is the least favorite of my Breads locations. I always see a line. I was in Bryant Park recently with friends and remembered I hadn't been here since the holidays. When I'm here during the holidays I just grab a coffee and sit on a bench enjoying the park. If you enjoy their baked goods, or you are a tourist and want to try them out, this is a good place. I prefer to sit to eat at the full size neighborhood locations uptown.

Olga G.

Yelp
I've been a patron of this bakery for 2 years now. I love their babkas. I just have to say that it makes more sense now to buy a full loaf versus a slice as I'm used to. Portions has become unbearably small and 2 inch slice doesn't match a $5.50 price point. Service usually is quick but it's sometimes strange they have 3 people working or just 1 at the time. Who makes their schedule lol Long story short I will recommend eating here but not if you are on a budget or a person with american standards for portions.

Lor G.

Yelp
Great location! Very delicious bakery and lovely ambiance with the park next door. Service was fast since there were few people working.

Anthony G.

Yelp
Had the opportunity to grab a quick breakfast to-go from Breads Bakery kiosk in Bryant Park and was generally pleased with my experience. Their baked goods are undeniably high quality - fresh, flavorful, and perfectly baked. The latte I ordered was well executed. However, I was a tad disappointed with the breakfast egg sandwich. It seemed like it was re-heated, which took away from the freshness and appeal a bit. That being said, I'd still highly recommend Breads Bakery for their other offerings. While the egg sandwich didn't hit the mark for me, their bakery items and beverages are definitely worth a try.

Lisa C.

Yelp
This is my favorite location of Breads. It's a small kiosk right outside the Bryant Park train station. They're known for their chocolate babkas, which albeit is tasty, I actually love their burekas. They're puff pastries filled with some savory filling. I'm partial to the potato filling but their feta spinach one is good too. Their croissants are nice and fluffy and their almond croissant has a great crunch. Highly recommend

Yarn Y.

Yelp
We are quite familiar w their pastries from back home , so decided to give the little booth they have in Bryant park a chance We had the almond croissant and we were not disappointed - belongs in the top 5 of all time almond croissant - the dough is crusty, crunchy and just excellent and the filling is rich and super tasty . They lived up to their expectations ! Next time we'll try some of their sour pastries (eg the feta bourekas) that also looked amazing . Recommended !!

Lorna F.

Yelp
Delicious baguettes and chocolate croissants. Hard to pass up when so close. Hard to get just 1.

Avani V.

Yelp
Great little bakery kiosk in the middle of Bryant Park. The burekas are sooo tasty and perfect if you're craving a buttery, flaky, savory treat.

Francine C.

Yelp
Fabulous pastries! Cheesecake, brownies, cookies, sandwiches, loaves. Great hot cocoa!!!!

Liz L.

Yelp
If you have ever lived in Europe or a LatinX country, you know how much you appreciated being able to go to the corner every morning (what corner? any corner!) and get a fresh loaf of bread, right out of the oven. If you were really fortunate, you got a steaming hot coffee with hot milk there as well. And you also know, if you are a born NYer like I am, that the City (The City!) has every kind of bakery and lunch spot that anyone could possibly dream up. So, why go to Breads above all the others? Because it is simply the best, hands down, for the things it serves. Just look at the range in their menu -- challahs (a wide and inventive range of flavors), babkas, tarts, quiches, baguettes, cookies -- all freshly made on the premises (there are three -- I chose the 6th Avenue/Lincoln center store). And that is not even to start to mention all the breakfast choices, pizza, and sandwiches. We were heading out of the city to an event in Connecticut the first time I tried Breads. Even though I was dressed in a black and white Armani outfit that I had just gotten back pristinely pressed and spotless from the cleaners, I could not resist getting the Tunisian sandwich. Huh? When I was going to NYU, there was a nearby kiosk that offered, among other delicacies, a divine dreamwich called "Tunisian falafel". Ever since then, I have tried to find, or duplicate myself, that mysterious, elusive combination that transports one to the Maghreb instantly. Never found it, until ... Breads! Check out the ingredients they list: chunk Italian Tuna, hard boiled eggs, potatoes, kalamata olives, tomatoes and spicy harissa on focaccia. Ah! There it is, the secret sauce, the harissa. Every good cook from the region has their own version. I have a dozen of my own in my kitchen, this very day. The one at that ancient kiosk and the one they sprinkle on their Tunisian Tuna sandwich at Breads are the stuff legends are made of. You simply must try it. And yes, crumbs dotted my beautiful Armani but -- and this says it all, if you knew me -- I didn't care. That sandwich is out of this world. I literally inhaled the whole thing. Another member of our group ordered the Smoked Salmon on a Jerusalem Baguette. We put a huge bag of challahs in the back of the car, to smuggle home in our carry-on's, to Los Angeles. We all had cookies, and carried rugelach, olive and cheese sticks, and egg salad to the hotel (thank heaven there was a small refrigerator in the room) to have the next day. Take a look at the vast menu. You will not be disappointed if you order any of those. But, make sure you try a variety. Now, please, Breads, come to the West Coast! (Please note: the pictures were from a visit to Breads before the covid pandemic, hence the lack of masks. Rest assured they are all masked and gloved now.)

Stephanie Z.

Yelp
I ordered ahead and when I got there i told them about my order and they worked on it so whats the point of ordering ahead

Wendy L.

Yelp
We were staying close to Madison Square Park and, after seeing the reviews on Yelp, I wanted to give the babka at Breads Bakery a try. I ordered ahead because I wanted to avoid a line and also wanted to secure my order. I had contemplated getting the cinnamon babka....but they were already sold out by 9:30 am, so I got the chocolate babka instead (which I had been leaning towards anyway). The chocolate babka did not disappoint - it was tasty with a soft, chocolatey interior. The babka is ~$20 per loaf which should easily feed 4-5 people. There is a small convenience fee for the online order.

Hsin-Yi W.

Yelp
We visited Breads Bakery randomly and the kiosk-looking shop serves limited styles. Due to the narrow space, the food wasn't served warm which was kind of disappointing. We had their famous and signature Babka and mini croissant with 1 cup of latte & 1 cup of mocha. The pastries were not the best but decent with reasonable portion. The texture of Babka wasn't our type because we preferred a more chewy and soft texture.

Abida H.

Yelp
Hands down THEE BEST chocolate nutella babka can be found at Breads Bakery!! It's complete perfection- chocolatey, flaky, buttery. So good that I'm always flying loaves home with me to the fam and it never lasts us more than a day! Don't even question this indulgence, just get it, and thank me later!!!

Alyssa G.

Yelp
I stopped by this little stand location when I was going ice skating last weekend. I ordered my tea and the two girls were friendly. They asked me what milk I wanted and if I wanted it steamed and etc. They mad it quick and it was good. A great location, also I appreciated them being open at 7:50 am ahhah because most of the places in the park were closed. So thank you guys!

Elaine C.

Yelp
Came to try the black and white cookies but unfortunately they sold out at 11 and we got there at 2:30. We bought the famed chocolate babka and it was very rich, moist, chocolatey without being overly sweet. It also kept well for a day before we devoured it all up. What I like a lot about this place is that they also have a bathroom, a coffee bar, and a large area of covered outdoor seating. You can actually come here, buy some pastry and hang out. Note, currently no indoor seating.

Zella W.

Yelp
Stopped by for a quick bite while hanging out in Bryant Park. Potato bureka was small and lacking flavor, you can get much better at Matto for half the price. The chocolate babka was good, although it wasn't worth waiting in line for. Their egg and cheese on a roll costs over eight dollars, which is just too much in my opinion.

James F.

Yelp
Consistently wonderful. lovely staff. The prepared foods are great. The bread - well the bread is the best in the city. Sourdough, challah, Jerusalem bagels, cinnamon pastry, all excellent. A great place.

Monica W.

Yelp
I was recommended to get a babka here, and it was so worth it. I didn't get to try it fresh but looking at it when I first got it, it didn't change much after being in my fridge. I cut little slices off for breakfast and as a snack and reheated it in the toaster oven. It was so good, there was no line when I went and it was definitely in a prime location. I loved it and as a tourist it was a nice snack to leave with, or to give to another foodie friend as a souvenir.

Bernard W.

Yelp
This location overcharged me. I didn't realize it until I looked at the receipt they sent me via email the next day. So, I mentioned it to my friend who was a regular customer of Breads Bakery. She shopped at the Bryant Park location, too, a couple of weeks before me, but checked her paper receipt right then. She got overcharged also, and had to fight with them about it. It's just not worth going to a business that treats it's customers this way.

Denise T.

Yelp
Solid coffee shop but the croissants were amazing. We got a chocolate croissant and it was so incredibly flaky. We also got the highly recommended almond croissant and that didn't disappoint either. Great spot for a quick breakfast.

Vesna S.

Yelp
Calvin who made my latte is my favorite barista IN NYC. I was so happy when I saw him at the Lincoln Center location. He is a wonderful person. The latte, chocolate babka and rugelach are my favorites!

Karen H.

Yelp
I found Breads bakery years ago when I was looking for NYC chocolate babka (yes, Seinfeld!) and I actually fell head over heels for the almond croissant. Through the years, I've found it's best fresh that very day. It's one of my favorite things to eat ever!

Hannah D.

Yelp
I absolutely loved the pastry I got. It was amazing and near perfect, which I feel is especially saying something for this being a little stand in the park. it's perfect to grab a pastry here and sit at Bryant park. The three stars were more because the person helping me was unfortunately pretty rude to me in a way that really put me off, I almost turned around and told her I didn't want anything. I know that isn't how everyone is, but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

Sally H.

Yelp
So happy my friend recommended this (busy) breakfast place. I enjoyed two excellent pastries, a pain au chocolate and an almond croissant. Both were tasty to the very last bite. Only a few seats on the backside of their booth but you can usually find a chair (with or without table) in Bryant Park itself. Will return!

Maria S.

Yelp
I was browsing Yelp to get some pastries and this place popped up. This location is a small kiosk at the entrance of Bryant Park. I got some pastries and everything was tasty. My favorite was their Rugelach and Spinach & Feta Bureka. The staff was nice and friendly. I will come back!

Stephanie L.

Yelp
sososoooo gooood :)) we grabbed breakfast here before we caught our trains since it's so close to Grand Central Terminal! We got the pain au chocolat and the egg sandwich. The pain au chocolat was nice and airy and fluffy. It was also pretty large :) The egg sandwich had the best bun ever! I'll definitely be back for their buns (very soft and delicious) Eggs we're nice and fluffy as well and it comes with cheese! Finally, we also got a babka! It looks gorgeous so far, but we haven't tried it yet haha

Alfredo N.

Yelp
The chocolate babka was good and flavorful! Came in early to make sure it wasn't sold out!

Cassidy L.

Yelp
This place is great! Although this isn't the original location and there is no seating, the products are still the same. Chocolate rugelach was very good and the babka was to die for. Very sweet and very chocolatey. A little over priced but not too bad.

Joseph C.

Yelp
Such GREAT food at this place, very well done. On the other hand, staff sometimes not the best. They aren't lazy but rather negligent to their customers orders. They just take a bunch of orders but don't correlate them to a customer. It's happened MULTIPLE times (specifically in the back) that I'll order a sandwich and coffee and I receive one or the other and have to remind the cashier. Today specifically got on my nerves when I ordered 1 coffee and 2 Latkes because I was late and figured that'd be quick. Instead of names the barista just yells out what the coffee is , 3 different people ordered the same so we all went for the same coffee. After I got my coffee I waited for 10 minutes for my latkes, after reminding the girl about my order she said they'd be right out. (They're premade) after another 5 minutes I pointed to the latkes and asked if she could please give me my order, which took 2 seconds to put in a bag. It's annoying bcus it's always the staff in the back by the coffee and breakfast foods. They're so unorganized and annoyed to even be there

Mayu H.

Yelp
Love their chocolate babka. They open 8a winter time. I went to 7a because of yelp info. It's a small kiosk in front of Bryant park. I enjoyed their breads and the girls there were very nice. When I went there they didn't have slices of chocolate babka so I decided to buy a big one. I asked the girl if she can cut one slice and warm up the slice for me and she didn't even hesitate to do that for me. We stayed at hotel so it was very helpful. I wish I lived in nyc so I can come here often.

Anirudh K.

Yelp
When you hear Babka Bread, this is the bakery that comes to mind. The chocolate babka bread is absolutely delicious, soft and perfect with coffee, as a snack or even as a dessert. I'm pretty sure the rest of the stuff they offer is amazing too but I'd surely recommend trying the babka bread. This is one of my favorite spots in NYC and will continue visiting!

Elizabeth K.

Yelp
I love this place!! I've been wanting to try Breads for a while since seeing some of their items on instagram and finally found myself in the same neighborhood as one of their locations and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did! Everything was great, there was plenty of seating, and everyone was so nice and helpful! Their food really is a can't miss, I'm obsessed with the challah rolls and chocolate babka but they have a ton of great stuff on the menu. Also a fan of the cheese straw and egg and cheese sandwich. If it's in season- you should definitely try their strawberry green tea lemonade, I'm in love with it!

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
I picked up a quick iced coffee here- really smooth tasting! For less than the price of Starbucks, $3.25 for a small, I'd definitely recommend it. Nice baristas and quick service! I resisted this morning, but the chocolate babka is definitely one of the best in nyc. So decadent and gooey. You can grab a slice here, $5,or a whole loaf, $15. It's a great treat to bring to the office or bring back as an NY souvenir.

Soo P.

Yelp
Its open june 19, 2020. I bought chocolate babka and it was delicious. Employee was really nice and kind. He asked if I wanted my bread to be cut. And he said he could cut it up to 16 pieces. Chocolate babka bread was crispy on the top and it was very moise inside and right amount of sweetness. I liked it.

Joy H.

Yelp
I came here for the chocolate babka that I've heard people talk about and it did not disappoint. The bakery has a nice selection of various breads and pastries and a few places to sit and enjoy. We got the chocolate babka, feta bureka, and pain au chocolat. The chocolate babka was worth the trip here. The bread has a nice bouncy and yeasty texture. The babka comes at room temperature with a crisp top layer and moist inners. It's packed full of chocolate and tastes heavenly when you warm it up. The pain au chocolat was lovely. It was buttery and flakey with a phyllo-type pastry. The chocolate was spread evenly through out the bread--so you don't end up with a glob of chocolate in the center. The feta bureka was also delicious and flakey. It wasn't dry (considering we actually saved this for the next day) and the sesame on top complemented it nicely. The feta itself was very good and the salt levels were just right for the pastry. The only issue I had with this place was the cashier--and it was more of an annoyance. When the cashier asked us what we got, she seemed to have a hard time understanding what we were saying--as if she didn't know what the shop actually sells. The only thing clear to her was the babka, we had to repeat the other two items multiple times and with different translations and/or descriptions for her to understand. Overall, this is a great bakery with amazing breads and pastries! Would definitely recommend coming here for a bite and walking over to Union Square Park to eat--a perfect way to spend a lazy Sunday!

Monica L.

Yelp
Small little kiosk at the entrance of Bryant Park - perfect for a quick bite. There are seats right outside, so it's a great spot for either breakfast or lunch. Even though this is much smaller than the Union Square location, they have all of the essential items: Chocolate Babka (by slice or loaf), Ruglach, Cheese Sticks, Feta Furekas!!! Make sure to buy the 5 for $11.00 cheesesticks and have them warm it up for you!!

Azam K.

Yelp
Breads bakery is a gem not enough folks know about, in my opinion. The chocolate babka is their staple and it really does live up to the hype. BUT their tunisian sandwich is what surprised me. I read about it online and had to try it out for myself. The tuna mixed with the flavors of the egg and tomatoes made for a surprisingly great sandwich that had a variety of flavors. If you're in the mood for a tuna sandwich or something sweet, I'd highly recommend the tunisian and the chocolate babka at Breads bakery.

Michael W.

Yelp
I saw the sign for what looked like a special, a Tunisian sandwich. So I though oh something different, and ordered that. It was a rather thin sandich, wrapped in plastic. When you open it most of the fillings of tuna and more just fall out all over the place. Tunisian sauces can be quite spicy and hot but this was toned down so low it was suitable for mid America. Dont get it. It was close to $10 and no way worth it.
