This is the most great and amazing place. The owner is an awesome guy. The service is good. The food is beyond immaculate. And they even have free board and card games to borrow. 10/10 will always come again

Google
Ordered from here a couple of days ago, I got the cheese plate. So I might be a bit of a snob because I've worked in three places that *specialize* in cheese and charcuterie, but the cheese plate was um underwhelming. It was slices of cheese cute in half, like the kind you get in a grocery store and they just cut the pieces in half. Not really a nice cheese plate. Seemed to be swiss. Sharp sged cheddar doesn't slice that cleanly. The pepper jack was fine. There appeared to muenster as well. Might as well take me to the sandwich shop! The goat cheese was supposed to be herbed, it was plain chevre and served in awkward clumps. No blue cheese was included. I'm really familiar with Maytag, if this was supposed to be Maytag, heads up tasted and looked just like the chevre. Also both were oddly served in clumps? "Fruit garnish," was a few slices of cucumber lol. I've never had or made a cheese board at the places I've worked with cukes. Cornichon yes. But this was just a few slices of plain fat cucumber. Sandwich sliced cheese and cukes... I think they wanted me to make a deli sandwich! FYI guys, try grapes, a thing of fig spread, dried apricots, or olives. The baguette though was delicious. I've ordered from, "bakeries," in DC and been giving baguette that was so hard you could hurt someone with it. They sliced it which made it easier because that's how I would've wanted it, and it was nice and warm. Definitely was buttered, which they probably should mention for people watching cholesterol and such, I am not so it was okay but it is very rich.

Google
Great place for a quick bite to eat with some great conversation or billiards. They have pool tables, shuffle board, and a small selection of board games. I recommend bringing some playing cards and going for their happy hour, which includes $4 cocktails and a food item (depends on the day). Ordered the Chicken Parm sandwich and the BBQ sandwich and highly recommend both. Great for an inexpensive date night, though be aware this is near Georgetown University so there will likely be a number of college students.

Google
We used Uber Eats and were surprised by what arrived. The cheese and meat plates weren’t charcuterie style. They are literally sliced deli cheeses and meats with a blob of goat cheese and a blob of blue cheese. They came with some borderline stale bread. The sandwich was mediocre but palatable. Do not go here for the cheese or meats plates. If you’re looking for a good sandwich there are many other way better places in the district.

Didn’t expect the bar food tasted so good! Music was a little loud, but tolerable.

I initially came in during Trivia night and promptly left. I came back later and ate. The food and service was great!

Great atmosphere and taps. Right price and good people.

Google
This was my neighborhood watering hole and gathering spot. Tons of great memories were made here. Glad its still around. Would recommend to anyone looking for great food, atmosphere, and/or billiards.

Yelp
Outstanding, friendly staff, great beer and seltzer collection, cool vibe and so many fun bar games. The dart board is the classic style and totally legit. Love this place and will definitely be back!

Yelp
Fun neighborhood place. Their food is very underrated in my opinion. I had a Reuben that was one of the better ones I've ever had (and I've eaten a lot of them, good and bad). The only knock is say is their hours. They used to be open for lunch some days and it was a great place to go.

Yelp
Absolutely infuriating experience at Breadsoda. I'm 22 years old, used my real ID, and was still denied entry for no valid reason. I get that bars have the right to refuse service, but this was just straight-up rude and dismissive. I was respectful, followed all the rules, and was still treated like I didn't belong. What's the point of being of legal drinking age if you're still going to be kicked out and talked down to like a teenager? The staff clearly had zero interest in customer service and made no effort to explain anything. Just a cold "you need to leave" and that was it. Honestly, there are plenty of bars in DC that treat paying adults with basic decency. This isn't one of them. Won't be back, and I'll be letting my friends know to avoid it too. I wish I could give -5 stars!

Yelp
The food was very average but the trivia night was spectacular!!! Sooo much fun!! And the service was amazing! We had a young female server and I wish I could remember her name. She was so attentive and professional and helpful. I will definitely come back!!!!

Yelp
Came here one random weekday after I had seen they have pool here. So glad I did!! Drinks and food are priced super well, and they have a good variety. They have so many fun activities to do w a group of friends or a date - board games, darts, pool. We didn't end up playing any games when we were there, but I'm excited to go back to try them out!
google avatar

Yelp
Nice place to go with a group of friends for a chill night. I went to one of their trivia nights and had a good time! Their drinks are reasonably priced, food is decent, and overall vibes are good.

Yelp
horrible and overpriced sandwiches. warm turkey and wamr roast beef that are supposed to be cold. very disappointed and can't believe i didnt just order from Jettie's that would have been cheaper and fresher.

Valerie B.

Yelp
While visiting DC for the first time, some locals recommended Bread Soda, and I'm so glad they did! It's the perfect dive bar with a fun and welcoming vibe. The atmosphere was relaxed, the pool tables were plentiful, and the competition was friendly. Claire, the bartender, was fantastic--super friendly and attentive. Definitely a spot I'd come back to next time I'm in town!

Amanda M.

Yelp
All night happy hour on Wednesday until close (midnight, last call at 11:30). Emily was our server and was pleasant, helpful, and super attentive. Will be back next Wednesday.

Madison T.

Yelp
Nice vibe, good food, excellent service. Thanks to our server, Leila, for taking care of us (: will be back

Yelp
Love this local spot. Since moving to the Nation's Capitol six months ago, we've visited this place 3 times. This spot is solid. Very chill, no nonsense. It is a place where an adult can enjoy themselves. Bartenders are on point and take good care of you. Pool is $11 for 2 people for an hour. Play some pool, drink some decent beer, maybe grab a snack. Cheese platter is plentiful, but no surprises there. Slices of provolone, cheddar and pepper jack. Soft cheeses include feta, garlic chevre, and blue cheese. Cucumbers were great. Hummus yummy. Strawberry super sweet. Slices of small toast great for the chevre spread. Great chill spot to hang out. Really like it.

Yelp
Enjoyed playing games. Food was a step above what I'd expect for a bar where I'd go to play games. Staff were all very friendly. I usually add remarks about accessibility. I didn't see any way for someone in a wheelchair to get into this place. If you need such access, call them and ask. As for other issues, more lighting in the otherwise clean bathroom would be nice.
google avatar

Maddie B.

Yelp
Went here with a friend after class and our bar tender/ waitress Clare was fantastic. My friend got the nachos (only on Wednesdays) and I got the mixed plate. Both super yummy and went perfectly with my frozen pain killer. The pain killer basically is a piña colada. Lots of fun activities here like shuffle board, darts and pool. Definitely coming again to hang out with friends!

Yelp
Good beer list, attentive staff, fun atmosphere, Monday trivia. Decent food at a good price

Yelp
Go at your own risk. I've observed and the three times coming here service being very bad. Whether it's how you look could be a factor but will say if your an e.t you might get better treatment. But laughs aside I can see this place closing in the near future if they keep up with the rude behavior so blatenly and drink price changes when a person gets a usual set of drinks. THATS stealing no matter how you try to spin it. Bartendars are rude mainly owners and blonde short glasses bartendar. Guess when they get to comfortable with your service and feel your tip isn't good they can be verbally rude.Well word gets far so keep it up. As a bar hopper I've seen many places not last due to bad treatment of people that just wanna have good time so.DEFINITly won't be returning. You never know what you get here so take notice.USE cash ONLY Not card.

Yelp
Great time tonight! Ben was our server and he was super attentive and friendly to our group, He managed different checks, dietary restrictions, and personalities with humor and kindness. Love going to spot where servers care and have personality again! We'll be back.

Yelp
No complaints. I ordered a Reuben from door dash and thought that the sandwich was great. Bread was evenly toasted, the sandwich had a good weight on it and had an ample amount of meat and toppings. Great alternative to subway If you want a hot or cold sandwich.

Amanda L.

Yelp
Didn't expect much but came in for a quick bite on a Tuesday and the tacos were incredible!

Bella J.

Yelp
The waitstaff here is unfriendly, unhelpful and rude. I will not be returning here for SURE.

Yelp
great dive bar with games and a patio, drinks and food were amazing but the shining star of our experience here was our bartender Clare! Highly recommend stopping by to get a drink from Clare

Yelp
I came here with my sister, my hubby and my friend. We wanted a place where we could chill with some drinks past midnight. This is the perfect spot to go to when you need a place to relax, wine and play board games! When you enter you will find three or four Bullard tables and one large shuffle board. Then on their chalkboard you will find games ranging from clue to cards against humility. You can rent the games for free. You just need to give the bartender a credit card in order to borrow their games. Don't worry though, they don't charge you a dime to borrow any of their games. A must----They have the most moist and delicious brownies. I am so in love with it. The chocolate taste is intense and the nuts make the brownie much more flavorful while adding great texture. Also try their alcoholic infused cupcake!! They have such cute drink names. The perfect late night drink that is not too heavy or too sweet is the suffering bastard. It's a pretty strong drink so one of these babies will last you through a few rounds of cards against humanity.

Yelp
Great place, nice service and amazing stuff members! I wish billiard tables would be open, but not yet. Tho we had a great time playing dominos (they had about 10 different board games). Steve, the owner, seemed to be very friendly and was following the CDC requirements with no exception, for what we were grateful. I wish this place to grow and to progress, they definitely deserved it. BTW: amazing non-alcoholic cocktails for me and my husband said a few good words about their whiskey!
google avatar

Jane P.

Yelp
I love the ambiance of this place and it was a super chill place to go and hang out with friends after a long day of fun/ drinking. They have board games and card games that you can borrow as you sip on a drink. Also, they have a billiard where you can pay to play pool. Seriously, we stayed here for a long chunk of our night playing cards against humanity. We just ordered a couple of drinks and some desserts and we sat and hung out all night. I would definitely recommend this place if your looking for something fun to do.

Yelp
Hot chocolate with -real- whipped cream (apparently whipped up by one of the owners himself that night!) and Kahlua and Bailey's? Now that's a friggin' kick-ass start to a good night at Breadsoda! Plus, there was really no better way to ward off the frosty biting wind whipping down Wisconsin. I wasn't feeling hungry enough for an actual sandwich, which appears to be the bulk of the menu here. There's also a smattering of soups and salads. Instead, I went with a bowl of chili and in retrospect, that was probably the most perfect option I could have picked. A super filling bowl of this ideally spicy stuff topped with some melty cheese was just the thing to warm me up and get my nose beading up with sweat! We happened in on a Tuesday and got to watch as the staff converted the pool tables into ping pong tables. I think it'd be fun to watch that go on, too, although the prices are a bit too rich for my blood. Hey, it's Glover Park. Folks who live there can afford it, right?
google avatar

Megan J.

Yelp
This is an Irish place, but oddly I am writing about my experience on Taco Tuesday... and giving this place 5 stars. This is a really cool spot in Glover Park. Despite it being Tuesday, the place was pretty packed. They have pool tables, ping pong, shuffleboard and other bar games like darts. Its a great atmosphere. I ordered 3 tacos as did my friend. He ordered all beef ones and devoured them. He enjoyed them completely. I ordered 3- one beef, one chicken, and one pork. The beef was good, the chicken was great, and the pork was out of this world amazing. I have been thinking about that darn taco ever since. The drinks were strong and they had good prices. Attentive bartenders. Chill spot overall- check it out!

Yelp
Our favorite neighborhood bar in Georgetown/Glover Park. Darts, billiards and shuffle boards make for a good night of fun. Decent selection of beers on tap (could be better), cocktails and snacks. The vibe and atmosphere is great and the old school look of posters etc. is great.

Yelp
When is the best places that I've ever been in my entire life the staff is extremely helpful, especially Claire Erin, one of the most considerate staffing people of that I have ever allowed in my entire life

Yelp
For anyone looking for a place to relax, play games, eat quality food, and enjoy some local brews, Breadsoda is pretty much the perfect spot. My most recent trip here involved grabbing lunch and playing some shuffleboard with a friend from college. The food is pretty solid considering it's more of a bar than a restaurant - I have been getting the grilled cheese for years and it never disappoints. Additionally, the shuffleboard can be free depending on when you're there, which I feel like is a rarity in DC. Besides shuffleboard, they also have pool tables, darts, and a few board games. Breadsoda has a notably more quiet vibe than the other bars in Glover Park - even on a Friday or Saturday night there typically aren't more than 20-30 people there - making it great for chilling with friends and playing some games. The last things I wanted to mention are the staff and the drink options, which are both stellar. Every time I've been here customer service has been excellent, and the beer list always includes seasonal beers from local breweries like Three Star, Atlas, and the like. Can't honestly think of anything negative about this place haha. If you're ever in the Glover Park neighborhood, check it out!

Yelp
My cousin laughed at me when I was craving a bloody mary at 10 p.m. on a Saturday night but I followed my gut instinct - luckily for me, the bartender was ALL about it. The one word that really sold me? "HORSERADISH." The not-so-secret word to get me on board with your bloody is always "horseradish." The bonus word in this case was "bacon." Garnishes of celery and olives don't typically make me jump out of my pants but when you tell me your version is topped with two thick slabs of perfected bacon. I'm all yours. --The verdict is in - I had three and they were all equally delicious. On to the bar, it's underground, sexy dark basement-ish with wall washing lights and a large bar. The highlight of our visit was playing ski ball (rent the "table?" for $16/hour - wowzers, time flies when you're having fun. I reserve the 5th star because as we were heading up the stairs to exit, one of the bartenders chased after us aggressively accusing my mum of not tipping. It appears someone took the cash tip out of the book within the few seconds of us walking out the door? Or a waitress/bartender mix up? Yikes either way.
google avatar

Victoria L.

Yelp
I love Breadsoda, their food, and their staff! The bartenders are super friendly and attentive -- Dio is the best! Drinks are always delicious, and the food tastes wonderful. Out of all the sandwiches, the Fresh Water Mozzarella is my absolute favourite, and there are a variety of options for vegetarians. Games such as pool, darts and shuffleboard are available, and I've only had great experiences at Breadsoda!
google avatar

Tiffany Y.

Yelp
This is a fun, happy hour type of place to relax and enjoy on a summer evening. They have an extensive outdoor seating area, great happy hour specials, and overall good food. It's a very relaxed vibe and great for a get together with family/friends.

Nick W.

Yelp
Breadsoda is a Glover Park institution! If you're looking to explore the city and want a taste of Northwest DC, or are just looking for a solid local haunt, you have to go to Breadsoda. Locals already know all about this place, but the food is good and the drinks are cheap, get there early to play pool or shuffleboard and really get the entire Breadsoda experience. You will not leave disappointed!
google avatar

Yelp
A friend told me about free billiards on Wednesday nights so decided to try it out. My wife loves going to places that have pool and games so this place was ideal! We arrived around 6:15 pm and although the place was a bit hard to find there was ample parking available on the street. We were greeted by a server who told us to sit anywhere we'd like and brought water and menus. We decided to only order an app and ordered the Charcuterie Plate (piccolo prosciutto, capicola hot, genoa salami, black forest ham, olives, parmesan toasted, french baguette slices, oil and vinegar). WOW! What a delicious appetizer! We were not disappointed. My wife ordered a Guiness which she enjoyed and was reasonably priced. We played 3 games of pool and although we could have played some board games or darts we decided to play those next time! We will definitely be coming back! This place is awesome. :)

Yelp
This is a great place. My favorite bartenders are Jeremy and Dio. Real stand up guys. Solid food, solid crowd, energetic vibe. Overall, 5/5.

Yelp
Nice and funny place . Staff very helpful Food delicious Service super Atmosphere overall so good to refresh your day

Yelp
Came here yesterday after seeing the umbrellas and thinking what a cute spot! I had the veggie burger, which was delish, and we played billiards and made friends with some nice French folks. The real star of the evening however was our server, Lily, who was amazing. She took great care of us and was so fun! Thanks again for making our time in DC so special Lily!

Yelp
Hit up Breadsoda for trivia on a Monday night. Shout out to my team Drink-182! Fun trivia with a good mix of questions. I've been to other trivia nights with far too many retro questions that a millennial like me have no clue about. Food was average. I got the Italian meatball sub with a side of chips and it got the job done. My diet coke was a bit too watered down and I had way too much after taste of DC tap water.
google avatar

Tara L.

Yelp
Just like Digable Planets' 1993 hit single, Rebirth of Slick, Breadsoda is cool like that. Laid back, diverse and hip without effort, I dig the vibe here. The space is dimly lit, with pool tables, dart boards and friendly bartenders. I was excited to see that they had a female DJ throwing down the beats, mostly mellow hip hop and funk. She was totally feelin' it. I was starving when I arrived, so I quickly made my way over to the bar to order some grub. I've eaten here before and knew they have some awesome sandwiches. I ordered the the soup and sandwich combo with half of the Breadsoda Sandwich (lightly toasted pumpernickel, turkey, swiss, coleslaw, lettuce, tomato w/dijon mustard) and a bowl of chili. The sandwich was awesome. Every bite was moan worthy and I was impressed to see half a sandwich that was almost the size of a full sandwich. The chili was pretty good as well, but nothing exceptional. Will definitely come back again to make a night of it!

Yelp
So I'm in DC on business and I check in to my hotel on a brutally hot and humid day. I'm tired and I definitely don't want to walk far in the killer heat. I pull out my trusty Yelp Mobile App and zero in on this place. Am I ever glad I did because this is a super little bar with some excellent food. I waked down a few steps and across the small patio to the icy cool and somewhat dark interior. I immediately loved the atmosphere with the darts, pool, shuffleboard and ping pong. I sat at the bar and was greeted by friendly bartender Jake. His customer service skills were great throughout my visit. At one point he noticed that my order was a little slow in coming out. He apologized, checked with the kitchen and gave me a free drink. Nice! I was there on Taco Tuesday and three tacos were going for $7. Lots of folks were enjoying them and they looked great. I perused the menu and the SAUSAGE PLATE for $11.95 caught my eye. It included spicy Italian, spicy chicken, lemon & basil chicken, andouille and half smoke sausage and was served with onions, bell peppers and a side of deli mustard. When this came out it was beautifully plated on a wooden lazy susan. It looked so good that several strangers commented on it. Three folks actually got up from their tables and came over to gaze at it and inhale the spicy aromas. The good news was it tasted as good as it looked. Often plates like this are served cold but in this case everything was hot and delicious. I'd order it again in a heartbeat! My visit was a true pleasure and was definitely a four star experience.

Yelp
Service was great as our water glasses were constantly refilled on a hot Fall day in September. The homemade half smoke was okay. It came with a side of potato chips. We started off with chips and guacamole as well. It's a cool spot that I'd check out again to play games.

Yelp
My favorite bar in town, conveniently located in my neighborhood. This is a great spot for both tasty sandwiches and delicious beers on tap. Although I usually come here for the latter, on the occasion of lunch I have had the best Egg Salad sandwich I have ever tasted. The bartenders here are funny, nice, and will serve you tasty beers you may not find on tap anywhere else. Their beer distributor comes to drink here all the time; you WILL want to try a BEER you have NEVER tried before. This is a fine bar to come to with a group of friends or by yourself. Play pool, shuffleboard, Ping-Pong on Tuesdays, Wii, or just grab a comfortable spot. The jukebox exudes one of the better basement parties you went to, and the dress is casual. You will need to look downstairs of sidewalk level to enter, so keep your eyes peeled walking down Wisconsin. The bar is owned by the same proprietor that runs Bourbon, another neighborhood mainstay. I come here a few times every week. This is a very comfortable place to hang out, much less eat and drink.

Mischita H.

Yelp
Thanks to a UYE posted by a fellow Yelper, I worked up the nerve to visit this place some time ago. I liked it enough to return last week -- this trip was confirmation that I like the place...or at least playing table tennis. :P It wasn't very crowded either time which is good. The tacos served on tuesdays are ok -- I've tried the beef but hear that the chorizo is very good. The warm apple cider with rum is good. In general I like the atmosphere; it is a cool place to hang out with friends and play table tennis or pool.

Frida J.

Yelp
It's well known that Breadsoda is the best bar in DC. The Best. The bartenders, managers, owners, security, servers, cooks and others are truly awesome. Somehow they are are always innovating, but seem to stay the same in the way you need a bar to be reliable. So many things make Breadsoda the best, but just think about this: Next door is a hardware store, and there's a pho joint, strip club, and pharmacy (for after the strip club) just up the block. Of course, a funeral home is just across the street. So really, you can live and love your entire life within a 50ft radius and Breadsoda is your anchor. It's certainly mine. Look, Glover Park isn't for everyone, but BreadSoda is. Please check it out.

Yelp
Breadsoda was the ideal party venue! Compared with most other DC venues l checked out, Breadsoda do not charge for room hire. That saved $500 up front! The only hiring costs were for the private use of billiard tables and dart board throughout the party. There was certainly enough room for our 70 strong crew to generate a great party atmosphere. Steve and the team were highly accommodating. I was able to connect my iPhone to Breadsoda's stereo system to play a personalised Spotify playlist for the birthday girl. There was a microphone available for speeches also. I organised this event from my home base in Australia so clear and responsive communication was both needed and provided. The selection of food and beers was great and prices were reasonable. The only reason that 5 stars weren't awarded is because of the inconsistent delivery of food throughout the event. A number of plates came out at the end after most people had left. Closer attention could have avoided this oversight; however it did not diminish our experience overall. The fact that Breadsoda is located at the site of an old GoGo club gives it extra cred! I would highly recommend using Breadsoda for a party or fun night out in downtown D.C.!

Maddie A.

Yelp
my boyfriend, roommate and i came on a tuesday night at 9 o'clock, we were told that there were no tables available but we could sit on the concrete stairs. Even though my roommate was wearing a dress, this was the only option to get served. It seemed as though they were done serving for the night, but after we sat on the concrete and ordered to go drinks other people sitting on the concrete, some pretty girls had a table brought out of the woodworks ! People were served who showed up after us...It definitely seemed like there were favorites ? We were excited to try the drinks and enjoy the atmosphere so I guess i would say ... be pretty before you come here ?

Yelp
My favorite neighborhood outside "beer garden"! They have "Weihenstefan" Hefeweizen, which qualifies them for 5 stars already! Nice pool bar inside. Friendly service. Just a good place to hang out in our hood!

Yelp
I live right in Glover Park and Breadsoda is a fun bar in the area. It's great for happy hour and has a very chill vibe on weekend nights. They have pool and darts as well. Overall I'd recommend it but some of their bartenders are rude so it depends on who you get.

Yelp
Was here last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed the people and atmosphere. Waited for some friends to arrive and was there about an hour early. This was a great place to enjoy a few of the numerous beers they have on a warm sunny day. There were plenty of people sitting at the tables but I managed to find one on the upper level by the street. Just about everyone had their dog and every dog was brought a bowl of water along with the owners drinks. Its a nice place to hang out and people watch, plus they have board games available to keep you entertained. Didn't have any food but did hang out with friends for about 4 hours. The service was good, the atmosphere was inviting and I would go back again.

Yelp
This place is different, and a good kind of different I think. Besides the decent bar, it's got a menu of sandwiches and cheese boards, etc... definitely not your usual onion rings and chicken wings sorta joint. Although I did just want some bar food last night. Want some activity to supplement your drinking/eating? They have sports on the big screens but also 3 pool tables, Wii, and shuffleboard. And I think some board games. Which is perfect because if I just wanted to drink, I could do that at home and not pay egregious amounts of money for a beer.
