Bready Delights Review - Brighton - London - The Infatuation

"We’ll set the scene. Your train back to Central line hell is in half an hour, you spent approximately four million pounds in the arcade trying to win that stuffed Sid the Sloth toy, and you’ve self-diagnosed yourself with hypothermia after a six-minute swim in the sea. Time to hit up Bready Delights. A great little street food van selling Jamaican classics like jerk chicken, patties, and plantain from The Avenue, it’s the perfect option if you need a speedy but oh-so tasty meal. It’ll also work for a quickfire dinner before cocktails if you got so distracted looking for the perfect distressed denim jacket in the Lanes’ vintage shops that you missed your dinner reservation. Plus, it’s a great back-pocket option if it turns out the entirety of London has descended on Brighton and you need a 10-minute time out on a patch of grass with some ginger cake for company." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

This is hands down the best food i’ve ever had. Such quick delivery and still so hot and amazing! Defo will be eating this again if not making this my regular. So glad there are vegetarian options and the coconut calloo was so tasty. Definitely recommend this place it’s a gem!!

Can't believe I haven't left a review before when I eat here once a week! And there's a reason for that - quality, consistency, friendly warm service and for me truly nourishing food. I always have oxtail with rice and peas, coleslaw and plantain, but I've tried everything and its all equally as good. I've even bumped into people, who I've recommended it to, bringing other people here to recommend it to them!

Good food, nice staff! Highly recommend. I had the curry Chicken, with that I can extrapolate that the remaining might taste like.👌

Unbelievably tasty food! Been wanting to try this place for a while after hearing so many good things about it and it does not disappoint. Stew chicken was delicious and the portion was super generous! Couldn’t recommend enough

Worst Jamaican food I’ve ever had. I ordered two jerk chicken meals (one small, one regular) and was extremely disappointed. The chicken was soggy and completely fell apart—bones included—as if it was stewed and then lightly grilled. It lacked any of that essential smoky, charred flavour you'd expect from authentic jerk. The rice was bland and completely tasteless. To make matters worse, the chicken had an off-putting smell that made me question its freshness. We were only given one small tub of coleslaw for both meals, and even that was inedible—watery, sour, and clearly gone bad. It tasted fermented. The "jerk sauce" was more like sweet and sour sauce—nothing like real jerk seasoning. I’ve tried Jamaican food at over 7 different places in Brighton, and this was by far the worst. For £25, this was a complete waste of money. If I could give 0 stars, I would. Avoid.

I went to this take away after reading the review and Omg , what a mistake I made , the oxtail was so salty , plantain (1piece only) hard as stone. I also got jerk chicken and there were a hair found in it . I put £ 63 pounds down the drain . I am not local otherwise I would have go back to get my money , please look elsewhere. To the owner customer deserve respect. If the food is salty you can’t sell it , period . Please avoid if you dnt want to be seriously disappointed

Very very bad restaurant food is not great and the patties are dry and flaky! And not even tasty… I’ve complained but nothing has been done. There’s no sugar cane machine and could have so much potential. The boss is arrogant and does not treat and pay his staff well. Don’t eat there waste of money! And very dirty shop to eat in.
