Break Away has become my absolute favorite coffee shop in Dover, and for good reason. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted by an old school, classy vibe that feels like a breath of fresh air in today’s world of cookie-cutter cafés. There’s something special about a place that honors tradition while delivering exceptional quality. Let’s talk about the food – it’s outstanding. Everything I’ve tried has been fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. But the real star for me? The matcha lattes. They’re perfectly balanced, smooth, and made with quality matcha that you can actually taste. It’s become my regular order, and they nail it every single time. The service here sets Break Away apart from anywhere else. The team is attentive, friendly, and genuinely seems to care about your experience. Special shoutout to Dan, the manager, who exemplifies what hospitality should be. He’s incredibly generous with his time, remembers regulars, and pays careful attention to every detail. You can tell he takes real pride in running an exceptional establishment. Whether you’re looking for a quiet spot to work, a place to catch up with friends, or just want the best matcha latte in the area, Break Away delivers. This is what a neighborhood coffee shop should be. Highly recommend – you won’t be disappointed!

We stopped on the way from New Hampshire to Boston and I'm so glad we did! The coffee is GREAT, the staff was very patient and welcoming, even though the line was long! We only took coffee and a pumpkin cake and they were both great! Other foods looked great too, hope to stop by and check them at another time. Regarding parking - we arrived on Sunday when apparently parking on the street is free.

What an amazing spot! The staff was super friendly, there was plenty of places to sit and enjoy your coffee. I very much enjoyed the hot apple cider they had. Will definitely be venturing here again soon!

Very busy cafe with cool decor and atmosphere. Coffee was tasty, good food though my hummus toast included pickled veggies even though I asked for them to not be included. After ordering, customers find a seat and wait to hear their name for their order. Difficult to hear names being called because of noise level in the cafe. Food order seemed to take a long time and hubby went up to the counter to inquire as to the delay... No reason given...

Felt crowded and a little unfriendly, mostly because I was there alone with my toddler. Not many cozy seating spots. It was hard to find a seat because it was the weekend. The food and drinks are fantastic but it felt a little like maybe I wasn't "cool enough" to hang out there. The counter person was really nice. I also found the chalkboard menu confusing and overly complex. Particularly how to order a "normal" coffee drink. They have a detailed laminated food menu but I didn't see one for beverages. That being said, I got a really delicious premium latte served with poured cream art. I also had an egg and bacon sandwich that was wonderful. My child got a vegan gluten-free donut (she just liked the look of it) and I was expecting it to be horrible and stale and bland but it was surprisingly good!

Only in the area for the day, and so happy I found the Breakaway Cafe! Best hummus toast I’ve even had, delicious hummus made even better with pickled veg, roasted veg, and something zippy. Freshly brewed MEM tea, huge selection, including my favorite. Lots of seating, available street metered parking, funky and friendly vibe! Great service from lively and attentive staff. And reasonable prices. I’d be a regular, if I only lived here! Wah

Overall good experience visiting Breakaway while touring NH. Delicious breakfast sandwiches, great cold brew with house-made syrup! Counter staff were generally helpful, though swamped. We were offered a jalapeno cheddar bagel, but then told it was unavailable as someone else had ordered it. Busy on a Monday mid-morning-- a good sign for sure, though the space echoes making it feel extra noisy inside. The Mt. Jackson sandwich with sausage , cheddar, and chipotle aioli on a rosemary bagel was sooo good! My husband enjoyed the Made in the Shade on an everything bagel with pickled onion as well. On my way down the stairs to the bathrooms, I enjoyed the dope wall art but almost tripped over a crate that was left on the floor. Would definitely go here again if in the Dover area.

Breakaway is my favorite coffee shop in NH! Great Flat White, perfect balanced and their bagels are delicious as well. Such a nice, cozy and friendly place. Love it.

This is a nice little coffeehouse serving up great coffee and great food. it can get a tad crowded but it's a great place to set up your computer or iPad and get some work done over a nice cappuccino. enjoy!

I found this gem a few minutes before meeting a potential new client in Dover. "Flight Coffee and more," it should be called. If you know me, you know I am a sucker for Coffee. Today was a low-fat Chai, and it was delicious. It must have done something right, because they are now a definite new client. I get to come back more :) There is a nice mix of customers and repeat customere/workers as I see a bunch of folks working away while sipping their drinks and snacks. Breakfast, lunch and many drink options, make a point to stop in and check them out. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

It's amazing! From the ambience to the bagels and coffee. It can't be beat. I've been in a lot of coffee shops in the world and this is the best of the best! Go!

A great local coffee shop with a cozy vibe with plenty of space. The coffee itself was very good, and the food selection is not lacking either. I would love to stop by here again if i'm in the area and try a breakfast or lunch item :)

Flight is a cozy spot for coffee and food, with good wifi for the worker bees. My boyfriend and I came by on a rainy morning instead of working from home. It was crowded but thankfully a table cleared up soon after we got there. The coconut pineapple coffee cake was divine, we went back for seconds and thirds. The breakfast sandwich hit the spot, and I've had the grilled cheese there before too, it's also scrumptious.

I'm blown away by how good their coffee is- I was a major skeptic but now I'm a loyal believer lol! Their breakfast sandwiches are also delicious and so fresh. And the staff is incredibly nice, friendly, and welcoming! For dog people: I messaged them on instagram and they said only service dogs are allowed inside, but they operate on the honor system and will only ask a dog to leave if they are being disruptive to patrons. I was able to order online, run in with my German shepherd, grab my to-go order, and leave no problem at aDo with that what you will, and don't abuse it with loud, excitable pups who'd rather not be there anyway

We were in town for Thanksgiving last November and ended up coming here twice for breakfast. They have fantastic coffee and tea options with baristas who know what they're doing. The food options are great, very fresh and carefully made. Despite having a smaller kitchen, they still get your food out to you quickly. The space itself is really homey and inviting; a true community space. It's exactly what you want in a local coffeeshop. If we lived nearby, we'd be there multiple times a week. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town!

Tasty coffee, trendy vibes. A lot of vegetarian/vegan options here, but they also have options for meat-eaters. The bagel breakfast sandwich is bomb, but the other sandwiches felt a little too lettuce-heavy and not enough protein. This place is perfect for a coffee date or a light lunch, and the service is very fast.

Awesome food and coffee! Good location, might take a while to get a parking spot though. The breakfast sandwiches are always good and the bagels are delicious.

This is formally Flight Coffee. The new menu was excellent! One of my daughters got the avocado toast topped with an egg. My other daughter got this veggie scramble. I highly recommend both as well as the coffee. The seating was also perfect for a relaxing morning.

A legit coffee hangout with a pour over bar and top notch coffee drinks. Busy but relaxed atmosphere. Always great service, particularly hit it off with Jess! But everyone is super nice. If you want an outlet, the couches are your best bet!

Still discovering new places as I explore the area. Usually in Dover at night. So this was a nice change. The space is awesome to hang alone or with friends. Heck, even if you are alone you can share a table with a friendly stranger. Coffee sections are plentiful and great bakery items. We met up with friends and then went exploring of Dover afterwards. Greet way to start the day.

Flight--now called Breakaway Cafe--has, for years, offered the best coffee and tea (including organic) drinks in Dover and the whole seacoast region. They have managed to keep the most talented baristas around. It also offers good breakfast and brunch dishes from scrambled egg dishes to bagels and breakfast sandwiches, along with some sweet treats. Its pleasant dining room is well lit by big windows. The owner/manager changed about 3 years ago but, except changing the name to Breakaway Cafe, he has maintained the quality of coffee, tea, food and atmosphere that made Flight great.

Love the vibes and environment. A bit pricey and would benefit from more drink options. HOWEVER, this is my fav coffee shop in Dover because it's such a cool environment. Hand crafted drinks too!! (4.5/5)

I stopped here after an appointment down the road. I was only looking for a breakfast sandwich (my aesthetician recommended it to me), so that is all I ordered. But I definitely need to stop by here to take a closer look at the menu and really experience the ambiance of this space. I ordered online (convenient for those who are interested), and the process was super easy. The breakfast sandwiches are made on their homemade bagels, which are delightfully yummy, and any of the tons of toppings they offer will yield a yummy result. I do wish I had ordered a coffee from here but I had already promised myself to Adele's, so I didn't want to cheat on my main girl when I'm in Dover. I will definitely try another sandwich and coffee next time! I did notice they had a few outdoor spots for seating, and there was PLENTY of space indoors, including comfy couches and tables for people to sit, mingle, and work. Customer service was great too! Looking forward to checking more things out at this space.

Excellent variety of bagels that are fresh and just the right texture!! Rosemary is my absolute favorite! And sesame is a close second! Tons of vegan and vegetarian options as well as gluten free. The vegan cashew cream cheese is delicious and the poptarts that are sometimes available are so yummy and flaky!! Everything is well labeled on the menu inside the restaurant and online. The atmosphere here is awesome. I love the decor. Staff is always so friendly. Prices are great! The coffee guys work fast and efficiently and always make a mean cup of coffee!!

Fantastic coffee, nice people, and the vibes were just good. This may have something to do with the fact that they were roasting cardamom when I was in there, so the smell was AMAZING, but even after that faded away, I enjoyed being in a warm, friendly place and sipping on my delicious pourover coffee. Short walk from the train station and lots of other shops and restaurants.

The coffee beans from Flight are THEEEE best- perfectly roasted & toasted. I was amazed but not surprised by how bold and flavorful the coffee was went I ground the beans- Kovachii to be exact! I paired the fresh brewed coffee with my new favorite granola- Vegan and soy-free. If you get a chance to check this amazing gem out- make sure you scope out their merch- solid coffee mugs & very cool stickers- I'm a huge fan!!! Thanks Flight for helping me lift off my morning with a smile!

I love this space and the dry cappuccino is excellent. Not one person (besides me) is wearing a mask-- which is weird and not optimal. The yogurt with sweet potatoes is actually fantastic. (I know that sounds wrong but I swear.) I would come here all the time if I lived in Dover. But get your booster shot!

Really nice, rustic coffee shop. Located right in town, Flight looks like a stereotypical coffee shop with lots of wood paneling. My main gripe was limited seating. Lots of people hogging the seats inside, which were probably scaled back for Covid, but also outside. This included a sing person with an empty cup taking up a table for 4-6. Not the most courtesy perhaps, but hey that's why I usually get coffee to go. Got a cold brew and the Bacon Me Crazy (egg, bacon, cheddar, bacon, maple, tomato). Cold brew was really well made, and washed my palette clean of the shitty Panera cold brew I had the day before. Got the sandwich on sourdough as I wasn't in a bagel mood, and it was great. Not overloaded with any ingredients, and the addition of tomato and a little maple syrup really hit the spot. Usually I practically drown these sandwiches in hot sauce, and I did not need to do that here. Was just around for a wedding, but would come here again in a sec. Wish I had this place nearby home!

I'm a big fan of Flight's pour over coffees. We tried the Hario Syphon 14oz hot coffee and Flash Brew over ice (both Colombian) and were blown away at how smooth they were--truly quality coffee! Where Flight lost a star, for me, was the selection of milk and sweeteners on the counter--which was located right above the recycle/compost/trash bins that were absolutely teeming with fruit flies and gnats! It was very gross feeling to be doctoring our coffees in such an unsanitary area. And this area is just feet away from where the counter where Flight serves hot (uncovered) plates of food. For a place that takes their coffee so seriously, I feel like this was poor planning and execution. And someone needs to empty those bins more frequently. The restroom was also in need of some tlc. These are details that show an establishment cares about their customers' experience, not just the quality of their products.

Great staff, delicious coffee, my favorite cold brew in town, and awesome vegetarian food options too. You can't go wrong here.

Definitely recommend this place if you're in the mood for a PERFECT cup of coffee! Hubby and I thoroughly enjoyed this coffee shop today in downtown Dover, NH. He had a latte (with beautiful latte art) and I had a Chemex pour-over coffee (black), and both were made perfectly! The ambiance at this shop is great (awesome music vibes and great decor), and they have a fair bit of seating inside and out (as well spaced for social distancing as possible). They also serve food, though we didn't have any this visit. We will definitely be back, though! Just be prepared to pay metered street parking (minus Sundays and holidays) and potentially wait for a table if you chose to dine-in (we waited all of 2 minutes during our visit on a weekday - late morning / early lunch timing).

Per of having a great coffee shop is not only the coffee but the atmosphere and the staff! The staff were very engaging with new and old customers. The vibe and feel of the place is fantastic! I could come here every day and enjoy a top notch cup of coffee and work. We ordered up an espresso and a Cortado. Both were made perfectly. Ordered a pour-over before leaving and even bought a bag to take home and cup. If we are ever in the area again, we will be stopping by!

What a great spot! Delicious, mouth watering and flavorful breakfast. The kids got a muffin. The adults dominated an AVO toast on sour dough and BECT on a rosemary bagel. It is less than an hour away from our home so I hope we revisit during our travels to and from the white mountains. The service was impeccable, patient (with our kiddos in tow) and have solid recommendations for us newbies. Apparently they have live music and a welcoming inclusive representation of the community advertising all the ins and outs and what have yous. As we were exiting we QR coded an Octopus painting that may find a permanent spot in our home. All in all we stumbled across a fabulous establishment and thoroughly enjoyed our to go experience from start to finish. Well done to the folks behind this fantastic coffeehouse. Cheers!

It's obviously a well thought out coffee house with our music activities food for everybody I do wish they had more description of what certain drinks were so it would make it easier for me to be adventurous but otherwise top notch can't really complain also I'm sure if I'd done a little research I would know it was in the purple Haze tea that I was considering getting instead I went with the juice which I was grateful they had so that means even space for kids and I did see some enjoying themselves but I'd say come prepared bring some chalk for their chalkboard space for the kids to use or have them some activities so that they don't become bored and I'm sure if you look around enough there books that you can borrow while you're hanging out and using up their space but all over I'd say this is definitely the Dover coffee house for me

Super cute and chic little breakfast spot! I always get an oatmilk latte with whatever flavor comes to mind that morning. Their breakfast sandwiches are to die for. Definitely need to try this place at least once!

I love their various vegetarian menu options. The food is fresh, nutritious and delicious. I'm not a coffee person so my favorite drink is the Mint Matcha. Favorite entree is the Packed Bowl. I wish they didn't close their kitchen at 2pm when their hours are till 4pm.

First off the smell when you enter is mouth watering. I did not have any food here but the bagels looked awesome and my kids loved the chocolate muffins. The coffee was great as well. I will go here again when I am in the area.

So cozy inside!! Comfortable morning work space and brunch!! Loved the vibe. I ran in and grabbed a chocolate chip banana bread slice and a Blueberry muffin!! Great prices here. I will recommend and return :D

Came in for the first time to try a hot chai, and it had almost no flavor at all! Tasted like hot milk. The only flavor was the little shake of cinnamon they added on the top. Really disappointed since it's a nice walk from work at lunch.

t's a beautiful coffeehouse. I loved the decor. My latte was absolutely beautiful and delicious. I had the classic sandwich. I liked it but bread needs a little butter. I would definitely go back. Barista did an amazing job.

Update: Came back a few more times after my last review three years ago, and how much this place has changed! This time I got a frappe (which is a little watery, but still good!), and the vanilla latte. Both great and will be coming more often.

Been going to flight for a hot min now, always happy with the joint. Real hipster tho, the dover that I grew up with has changed and this is a landmark of the change.

The mocha decaf was amazing! Flight gets very busy and crowded on a Sunday at midday.

Fast and friendly. Great single source espresso, as well as blends. Menu is packed with options for vegetarians and vegans (not my jam but if it's yours, you're welcome). Food is solid, lots of space and nice semi-upscale atmosphere.

Love this place. People here are so nice and it's a great place to sit do some work have breakfast and great drink. Definitely will be back.
