This place comes off as a nice neighborhood breakfast establishment. The restaurant is kind of small, so tables are close together. When my friend and I first entered close.to the time they opened all the workers just stared at us as we waited to be seated. One young lady finally came over to sit us with a not so friendly look. I said hi, perhaps she didn't hear me but she didn't respond. On a brighter note they do sell alcohol in the morning! My friend asked for bananas on her pancake and she personally felt they could've put an entire banana on it. I had the chorizo hash and although the flavor was there the dish itself barely had any chorizo in it. I had to ask for extra to add to it and when I received the extra it was not hot.

What a lovely neighborhood joint! The dining room is cozy, bright, and filled with people's conversations. We tried several breakfast dishes and they were all yummy and filling. When we left the restaurant around noon, the line was long outside. So be there early to enjoy a nice Sunday breakfast!

Google
Professionally organized team and delightful food & beverage bar selections. Breakfast House is a wonderful experience of vibrant community and deliciously prepared and presented foods by a highly skilled chef and kitchen staff. The coffee, latte, and juice were great. Even the served water was so fresh and clean tasting. It's amongst the best waters experienced in a restaurant! There's a teamwork service atmosphere that fosters a stress-free indoor/outdoor dining experience.

Google
been living around the area for a while and finally had a chance to try this place. I am glad I did. Food was all delicious ! it is more like American/mexican fusion breakfast. Churizo has was sooo delicious !

Google
A local Chicago mini-chain with 7 Chicago locations. A perfect example of what a diner is - a huge selection of menu options, fun holiday-themed items (was there during St. Patrick’s), and strong Intelligensia coffee. The atmosphere was lively, yet there was no wait for a two top on a Saturday at 10am. Service was prompt and fast. Fast to coffee, fast to food. I always like to try house signature dishes and was not disappointed with the corn meal cakes. The roasted red pepper sauce is probably meant to go with the cakes but I put it on everything on my plate because it was that delicious. The side of fruit was very small so I might order a different side next time instead. They’ve been doing their thing since 2012 and their slogan is ‘Amor is nuestro sazón’ - love is our seasoning. A lovely brunch spot.

Google
I went here on a Saturday morning and got the chorizo egg dish. It was pretty good and the service was pretty quick for it being a Saturday. The prices were reasonable for Chicago. Would go again.

Google
1st time visiting and the food was very good, we ordered and the food was out to our table so fast! The servers Ameil and Miguel were AMAZING!! They were very attentive, polite, fast, and so professional. We asked if we could stay longer after we finished eating because we could not check-in and they had no problem with that. They continued to check in with us and refilled our waters. Definitely recommend...Thank you so much!!

Google
So lively on a Sunday morning. More indoor seating than expected and lots of covered outdoor seating. Friendly staff, interesting decor. The food was well portioned and reasonably priced for the neighborhood. The mango iced tea wasn't too sweet which worked great for me. Definitely a place I would come back to.

Yelp
Great spot with locations all around the city. They have a good variety of options but it's not too overwhelming, which I appreciate. Quality of ingredients is definitely top of mind here without being too expensive-I think they found a good balance. I always get the vegan chorizo hash but the pancakes, omelettes etc always look good. Service is lovely-they're efficient here but still warm. Ambiance is great-clean, but comforting. Outdoor seating in the summer is the move!

Yelp
Great neighborhood brunch spot. The House Hash is always fresh and tasty. Big winner for me is the underrated Fried Chicken, honestly some of the best in the city.

Yelp
Everything was great my wife and I stopped by for brunch. I had the salmon cake Benedict my wife had chillequillas. Both were amazing second time here second time everything was amazing.. service is always great.

Yelp
The Chilaquiles were fantastic and the serving was massive. The service was quick and friendly.

Yelp
My friend and I came during lunch and it was packed. You wait to be seated, but it was pretty quick. The tables have a QR code for the menu stuck on them although they have physical menus at the tables to list their weekly specials. Note that it is stated on the physical menu that there is a 3% credit surcharge. If you ask to remove it, then you need to pay instead with cash or debit card. We ordered the house signature, Supreme Chorizo Hash with a buttermilk pancake, and the weekly special, Dieguito's Benedict with roasted potatoes. The hash was super yummy, well seasoned, and filling. All the flavors worked well together. The pancake was good and also very fluffy as advertised on their menu. Dieguito's Benedict with roasted potatoes was good. For some reason the Benedict sandwich itself reminded me of the taste of a McChicken from McDonalds. Make no mistake that that this place is operating on a different level from them! They have a bathroom for customers in the back and the interior decor is quirky, but cute. Not sure how Thor fits in, but I approve! I believe they drew representations of the staff to surround Thor on the chalkboard decor. There is a decent amount of seating available and you don't feel super packed in. The entrance is on the corner of the intersection. Overall, this is a cute spot with good food. I wouldn't minds coming back to visit again if I'm in the area.

Yelp
Always good food and strong coffee. Kids love the happy face pancake and waffles. The crunch of the chilaquiles is contrasted by the velvety black beans, gooey cheese and smoky salsa. One of my fave chilaquiles in the city! Pretty quick and efficient servers. I find that sitting inside means service is a little more attentive than being seated outdoors.

Yelp
Food: We got the chorizo hashbrowns and chilaquiles which were both delicious. The guacamole was fresh clean and had just the right amount of seasoning. Chilaquiles had an amazing sauce on top of it with sour cream, although I prefer my chips, more crispy, this dish requires them to be a little soggy. Hasbrowns were more like finally chopped cute potatoes rather than your typical shredded potato flats, but it was crispy with a soft touch. The potatoes absorb the juices from the chirizo, which added a really nice touch. Service: the service was rather quick, and they made sure that our waters would constantly filled. Ambiance: it's a family standard restaurant filled with Latin culture and influences. Location accommodation: they do not have reservations so if you're walking in on a weekend, you might have to wait about 20 minutes for a table. The parking is on the street, but it's somewhat relatively easy to find.

Yelp
This is our favorite breakfast spot in the lakeview/roscoe area (and we've tried a lot)! The food is always fresh. There is usually a minimal wait, even on the weekends. Their patio is huge and dog friendly! We love their famous chorizo hash with fresh homemade guacamole on top. For something sweet, we order the buttermilk pancakes. In my opinion, they have the best pancakes because they are light and fluffy.
google avatar

Noah L.

Yelp
Really quite delicious but simple brunch. We liked everything we had here from the French toast to the chilaqiiles. Well, in particular the chilaqiiles. Good simple diner vibe and good service. The coffee was basic diner coffee, not bad at all but that could have been a bit better. Prices were reasonable but this isn't a cheap place. Overall will be back if I'm near one!
google avatar

Taylor O.

Yelp
Our server, Santiago, was charming and attentive. We came on a rainy Saturday and were sat immediately. We got the recommended chilaquiles and corn hash. The chilaquiles had an amazing red sauce, and the fresh corn in the hash really brought out the fresh flavors. The decor was very kitschy-cute, and they have little illustrations of all their employees on the wall. GLUTEN FREE: Secret gf pancake
google avatar

Yelp
Really fast service! Very nice staff too. It is really busy and hectic in here on the weekends but they get you in and out quick! The food was mostly Mexican influenced which was really good, a little pricey for some breakfast items but expected in Chicago. It has a homey diner feel.
google avatar

Yelp
HOLY COW!!!! AMAZING! I have never had such a delicious vegan meal. This place is top notch for vegans! Chefs kiss! I can't rent enough about this dish! Upon arrival we were seated quickly and service was instant! No waiting! The setting isn't really trendy or hip, it's just like a regular breakfast spot, but who care the food is amazing! Love love love. I will come back in the future!

Yelp
My group of friends and I decided to stop by on a busy Saturday afternoon, nervous about walking in, we were surprisingly seated in less than 10 minutes. I ordered a BLT Benedict and potatoes were cooked to perfection. I also got to taste the fluffy buttermilk pancakes and they were so good! Reminded me of grandmas cooking. Another plus is that they also have steak and margaritas! My friends steak was cooked to a beautiful medium rare, just looking at it, my mouth started to drool! I would definitely recommend to anyone looking to grab a bite with friends. Just know that they can get really busy & you might have a possible wait. Cozy home feeling inside, but can get a bit loud once the tables get packed.

Ryne M.

Yelp
I love diners; food, atmosphere, everything. But even my high expectations were blown away. The chorizo hash was special. I was really impressed.
google avatar

Regina M.

Yelp
I walk past this breakfast place all the time and finally had the chance to try it recently - I will definitely be back! The service was great - very friendly and they were able to seat us right away despite being busy. They have a great variety of food and drink options. I ordered the chef special grilled cheese breakfast sandwich and my partner got the breakfast burrito - both were delicious and good portions. The house potatoes are amazing! The ambiance was bright and sunny, with outdoor seating available for warmer months. Definitely give Breakfast House a try!
google avatar

Jeanne U.

Yelp
Very cute breakfast place with excellent food. There is a cute outdoor side patio for nice weather days. Good tea selection for me and my daughter enjoyed her latte. I had the BLT Benedict and it was delicious with a generous amount of bacon and avocado. My daughter had the chorizo hash and really enjoyed it. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly. I would definitely recommend eating here ! Easy street parking.

Yelp
Love coming here after my morning runs for a good casual brunch! The staff here is super friendly and the restaurant has a strong family owned atmosphere. The service is friendly and the portions are generous for the price

Yelp
Hostess & staff were nice. Noisy place. Egg White Frittata was good, Pancakes were also good but could've been hotter. Chilaquiles was disappointing and not worth $14. It too should've been served hot, chorizo was overcook and dry, barely any eggs and sauce wasn't authentic.
google avatar

Alan M.

Yelp
Delicious eggs Benedict (the BLT, leaving out the avocado). Well cooked and seasoned breakfast potatoes. Service was fast and attentive. My only suggestions are (1) turn up the heat in the room; and (2) the potatoes could have been served a little hotter. But these are minor quibbles. Overall a wonderful breakfast experience!
google avatar

Araceli C.

Yelp
Sunday brunch I really love the sour cream pancakes, so stop by today with the side of andoulie sausage and exspresso martini so good the place was oacked and the service was exelent see you soon again
google avatar

Rachel D.

Yelp
The house hash was pretty good- better than it looks! The egg was a little more cooked than I would have liked. I like mine a little runny, but this one was almost thoroughly cooked. The sauce was to die for. It really made the flavors meld together. The chorizo hash was equally as good! NOW FOR THE SIDES - I forgot to take a picture, but the pancake was the best pancake I've ever had. PERIOD. I would have had 3 of those pancakes instead of the hash. It was fluffy and not too sweet. Paired with their maple syrup, I would definitely come back.

Yelp
Came here a couple times while in Chicago on a weekend trip with our friends! Wanted to try a cute local brunch spot and this place had such a divine and delicious sounding menu we all came again the next day to try other options ! First morning I got the massive croissant bfast sandwich, was so warm, gooey with cheese and the croissant was so fresh! With a side of their yummy breakfast potatoes . Morning #2 I got the Benedict BLT, another delicious option, veggies, eggs and sauce all in a muffin with a side of potatoes again, so worth it! My friends tried the hash, Benedict, French toast and we all also had several mimosas . This place has a very lively, Hip and fun vibe. More in the noisy side being so small and on a city corner but overall a nice atmosphere, the food is spectacular and the staff is friendly and attentive. Check 'em out!!

Yelp
Great breakfast serving tasty food in a cozy atmosphere! We went on a Saturday morning and were seated right away. I started with a decaf oat milk caramel latte which was nice. I had the Mexican omelette (added broccoli) with potatoes and a pancake. The omelette was great! It had a nice kick from the jalapeños and the ranchero sauce made it unique. Loved the flavorful potatoes and the fluffy pancake. My friend had the chorizo hash and loved it. We will definitely be back to try more at this cute neighborhood spot!

Yelp
The people are so damned nice and food was good. Split "Nutella crepes" for the sweet tooth, can't lie, underwhelming, but not enough to kill my like of my experience.

Joanne M.

Yelp
Outstanding breakfast/lunch restaurant! Generous portions, great staff who are very attentive and quick. Bright and airy atmosphere.
google avatar

Ella W.

Yelp
In my opinion the breakfast house is a staple of Lakeview. From the classic farm house decor to the familial vibe of the staff it feels very comfortable and cozy for weekend brunch/breakfast. We usually get the chorizo hash and a Benedict and split it. They have great coffee as well. This place is not just quintessential and "trendy" this place has actually great food which I feel like is hard to find some times. We often go to a place for a vibe but sacrifice qualify of food and I think breakfast house hits the mark in both cases. 100% would bring those from out of town here just for an overall great experience.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Great service. No long wait bc they are super fast. Extensive menu. We had a hard time choosing but couldn't have been happier with our choices. We'll be back.
google avatar

Brian T.

Yelp
Fast paced, Poppin, 'n bussin'. They move quick in this honey, and rustic environment. Exposed brick walls and a wooden outdoor patio, pet friendly, for those pleasant summer mornings. Came here during a Saturday in the fall with my wife and we were fortunate enough to get a seat quickly. The host jokingly said it would be a 45 minute wait but shortly led us to a table. Service is friendly and despite being busy they checked up on us often. Music reminded us of our wedding on the beaches of Mexico. Food was great. We recommend the chorizo hash. Come check them out if you're in the area. Street parking only.

JoAnna G.

Yelp
Very accommodating Comfortable cheerful ambiance great service and attitude They recently changed the portion of sauerkraut on the sandwich Long story but it was not a positive. Perhaps it's a temporary mistake.

Alec S.

Yelp
The Steak and Eggs are absolutely amazing. Seasoned so nicely, so flavorful. Great service as well. Will be coming back
google avatar

Dorothy S.

Yelp
I've been to the other location and they don't have the chilaquiles. I will forever be a customer at this lakeview location solely bc of the chilaquiles, they're my absolute favorite bfast dish in the city. I get the chilaquiles without chorizo and they are amazing. I tend to eat quite slow, but somehow these chips never get soggy and stay super crunchy. Ugh the flavas in this dish are just so perfect. I love it too much. The yogurt parfait was fresh and tasty, however too much apple I think? The frittata was also fresh and tasty. Coffee and freshly squeezed oj are excellent (they serve intelligentsia coffee) and service is always good. Oh yeah they also have pretty ample outdoor seating, I usually don't enjoy eating al fresco, but I've eating outside here several times, it's lovely! Parking in this neighborhood is never an issue.

Yelp
Great breakfast place in the lake view area. I had been to one of their other locations and menu appeared the same. While this restaurant was jammed packed with a crowd , their efficient waiting list system made it a no stress way to wait. Once you put in your name you are texted a link that allows you to see exactly where you are in comparison to others. They also text you when your table is ready which is great ( I took a short walk with a friend while waiting ). Service is good, food is excellent. I stuck with my typical order of an egg white frittata with veggies and feta and it was great. My friend loved her vanilla waffle with fresh fruit on top. If you are looking for a breakfast or brunch spot in the area this is an excellent choice.

Kyle G.

Yelp
Hands down best breakfast spot I have ever been to. Ordered the Chilaquiles the first time I went there, and the Chorizo Hash today, both are absolutely incredible. My only complaint is from now on I'm going to have to make the tough decision between the two every time I go there. Highly recommend!
google avatar

Ro L.

Yelp
The best. Service, great attitude from experienced and well-trained staff. Covid careful. Egg white frittata with spinach, onions and mushrooms. A heaven sent pancake on the side straight out of Mexico!! Intelligentsia cafes. Huevos rancheros. Homemade Bloody Mary mix. Look and see. Ask Blanca and Milton to help you. the best. Ro and Curt

Yelp
I was in the mood for a Thursday brunch and in the area so decided to give Breakfast House a try. They have outdoor tents set up along Wellington, with a heater. Yesterday was sunny but quite windy out, so the tent sides were flapping about and letting in plenty of air circulation. They have the QR code menu on each table and bring silverware that's individually packaged in plastic. The menu has tons of options, but I'm always drawn to a handful of items: hashes, chilaquiles, and huevos rancheros. Lucky for me, all 3 items are on the menu AND there are 2 hash options. We started with 2 coffees, which were very necessary to keep us warm. For brunch we ordered the Supreme Chorizo Hash with a side of toast and Chilaquiles to share. Portions are big and so filling! Loved the chipotle aioli on the hash, and the crispy not greasy tortillas in the chilaquiles. I think some fresh jalapeños and more cilantro would have been a nice add, but not everyone is about that heat or cilantro taste. Looking forward for indoor dining to resume because I'll happily enjoy more brunch favorites here!
google avatar

Jordan C.

Yelp
Wow! Breakfast house hits the spot. We ordered a variety of things from the menu and everything was amazing. Came for a late lunch and we were seated immediately. The service was great and we will be back!
google avatar

Mar L.

Yelp
Is this a full size Caesar salad? Sorry, I expected a bit more. Your whole order is more on the petit size
google avatar

Mag T.

Yelp
Food here is delicious!! Order the chorizo hash!! The passion fruit mimosa tasted so good. We sat outside in the covered tent and it was perfect weather to be outside. Service is fast and friendly. Will be back to try some other items on the menu. ** This location does NOT use the yelp waitlist **
google avatar

Jeremy B.

Yelp
Such a great place for....breakfast! Were you surprised? I hear they're also great at brunch, although that's not their namesake. Everything at our recent weekday visit was perfect: the staff is awesome, and their sidewalk seating is cozy and comfy and you don't even realize you're just off busy Ashland Ave. But the star of our visit was the food. Everything was delicious! And lastly they seem to be taking great Covid precautions. Will certainly be back. Plus I hear they are adding another location in Lakeview near the Sheridan El stop. Bonus!
google avatar

Mark B.

Yelp
Breakfast House is one of those places you can't not like. If for nothing else, the menu is stacked with amazing choices that deliver on taste and portion size. We had an earlier breakfast on a Sunday morning and were able to be seated immediately. The host is a kind, older gentleman who seems pleased people are coming to eat. The same goes for the wait staff, friendly and inviting. We honestly had a tough time deciding on what to have because the menu covers all the bases and so many things sound delicious. Ultimately we had to choose so we went with omelets (pretty standard, but good), a yogurt parfait (DELICIOUS!), eggs and pancakes (standard, good), chilaquiles (yum!), and the chicken sandwich (wow!). The only hiccup was the food delivery, it came out a few plates at a time and caused only a tiny bit of awkward waiting for our table of six. After digging in we were checked on often and never went without anything that we needed. We also never felt like we were being rushed out the door (despite it getting BUSY by the time we left). All that and the price-per-portion size gave us a feeling of having received great value! We chose Breakfast House on a recommendation (and a bit of a whim) and were very pleased with the whole experience. I will certainly remember this spot for the future, if in the area again.

Yael M S.

Yelp
The food is good. They added outdoor seating for the summer with covered tents. It's cute inside
google avatar

Felicia K.

Yelp
Service and mimosas were on point. Love the small feel of the dinning area. It was a comforting feel. The French toast was perfect.
google avatar

Laura Q.

Yelp
Love this family owned breakfast spot in my neighborhood! Great service, reliably good and interesting food. Good salads!
google avatar

Andrea L.

Yelp
Very good classic breakfast place. Great for toddlers especially in the summer when you can sit outside. Only complaint is that we arrived after they opened on a Sunday and the patio wasn't available for seating until about 15 minutes later. I think the staff was simply running late.
google avatar

LeMonica G.

Yelp
YES! YES! YES! Idk who idea it was to put salmon croquettes on English muffins but it was genius this is sooooo good. I have to get it at least once a week.
google avatar

Ann Marie A.

Yelp
Ladies and gentlemen!! The crepes are moist pancakes! It was still pretty yummy though.
google avatar

Olivia H.

Yelp
everything here was fanTASTIC!! We came here after being told there was an hour wait at Berries and Batter, and I could not be more happy we did. Tons of mimosa options, brunch drinks, and the pancakes are the best! Also loved the breakfast burrito!

Joshua M.

Yelp
The food was fairly good. Good portion and taste. The mimosa was also good, but a little pricey. The service was good- Jerry was attentive.
