I once made a mistake of coming in and leaving without eating cuz I got an urgent call to be somewhere. I had no idea I would miss out on so much! And so, I came back and oh man, what an amazing treat! When they say you first eat with your eyes, it's so true! From the first site of my plate I was in love and got hungrier. Taking a bite of my veggie tostada, I was in love! The food was hot, fresh and deeeeeeelicious! The server was super kind and he offered us a cupper to go when we where leaving. If you come in full, hungry or with just a little bit to munch, you will leave fuller, happier and will plan your next visit, guaranteed! They have outdoor, indoor, bar, low and high top sitting. Perfect for all group sizes!

Came here for brunch on. Sunday. No wait. Nice atmosphere. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Great menu selection. Unfortunately the steak in my steak n eggs order was very tough even at medium rare. Maybe I just got a bad one. Server was friendly and attentive. Above average over all.

I really liked the service. It took about 15 minutes to pass. The waiters are all super attentive. The eggs Benedict are the tastiest I've tried in other restaurants. 😋 Highly recommended to go with your family or friends to have a delicious breakfast. They are also pet friendly.

Absolutely phenomenal breakfast experience. Every dish we ordered was next level! We started with the Chilaquiles with steak, which were perfectly balanced, flavorful, and hearty without feeling heavy. The Bae Mac was pure comfort food done right, rich, savory, and incredibly satisfying. The Shrimp & Ricotta Frittata was light yet indulgent, beautifully cooked, and packed with fresh flavor. For something fun and shareable, we ordered the Rooster Flight, a trio of French toasts including the Mr. Presley, Banana Split, and the limited time Golden Harvest French Toast. Each one was creative, unique, and honestly hard to choose a favorite. The textures and flavors were spot on across all three. And then there were the Milk & Cereal Pancakes… omg. Easily one of the most memorable pancakes I’ve ever had! Fun, nostalgic, and insanely delicious. Everything came out fresh, hot, and plated so thoughtfully. You can tell there’s real care put into both presentation and execution. Coffee was hot and freshly brewed, and the iced ube latte deserves a special shoutout, hands down the best ube latte I’ve had anywhere! On top of the food, the service was excellent. The staff was incredibly accommodating, friendly, and efficient without ever feeling rushed. The space itself is cozy, welcoming, and has such a great vibe. Breakfast Republic is a truly unique spot in Costa Mesa and works for all kinds of diners, whether you’re there for a classic breakfast or something more creative. Highly recommend and already looking forward to coming back.

First time here, the food is good, the service is fast, and staff is friendly. This place is good for breakfast, lunch, or late lunch. Indoor and outdoor seating area, good for small or big groups I loved the chilaquiles, will come back to try the rest of the menu items. And anyone who knows to Alec Baldwin is, his doppelgänger works here

Had brunch here this morning. Food was amazing! Had the protein scramble and it hit the spot. One of my daughters had eggs Benedict and it was delish. My other daughter had the oreo pancakes and they were delish! 10/10 recommend!

This was our first ever visit to this restaurant. If you decide to eat here, be prepared to fight for parking spots because there are a limited few available. Also, it isn't a big place, so it can feel crowded while eating here. The service was good. We had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table to become available, which isn't bad. We were actually offered drinks of our choice while we waited to be seated. I thought that was cool. The atmosphere wasn't anything fancy. Just your typical mom and pop style breakfast place. The food was okay. We had the Protein Pancakes, which were good, but had a little too much chai pudding on top. We also had the Brioche French toast, which was good. And the Frittata, which my wife did not like. Apparently, it just wasn't prepared properly. Overall, it was just an okay experience, and we will probably look at another option to have breakfast the next time we are in the Costa Mesa area.

What a great place and an unexpected surprise. I was here in town getting my motorcycle serviced at the local dealer and I asked for a breakfast recommendation. Quickly he said to come to breakfast Republic. The atmosphere was great the decor very nice, and everything was light and friendly. The bloody Mary’s were great. Alejandra was our server and she greeted us with a smile, even made a great recommendation on the Chilaquiles. Would definitely come again.

Jakhori, Arthur, and Lauren provided amazing service and the food was incredible. My friend and I were looking for cute brunch spot in Costa Mesa and happened to stop by. We must come back!

If you haven't been to Breakfast Republic yet, you're missing out. This place is hands down one of the best breakfast spots in town, and trust me, I've tried them all! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is welcoming and chill. The decor is cute and quirky, and the staff is super friendly especially Lauren. She helped give me the best experience possible and I enjoyed every minute of it. The portions are huge, so you definitely get your money's worth. The flavors are spot on, and every dish is beautifully presented. I highly recommend the "Oreo Pancakes" or the "Breakfast Burrito"--both are absolute winners! Can't wait for my next visit!

Ah, Breakfast Republic, how much I love thee! We were first introduced to BR down in San Diego. Since that introduction four years ago, we have stopped at one during every trip we make to So-Cal. The atmosphere here is fun (Walkens Only), (go to the bathroom and pay attention to the stereo). We always have friendly staff, but sometimes they are just so busy that you have to stop someone to get drink refills. As a heavy drinker (of iced tea and coffee), this takes a star away for me. But the food is great! I haven't had any food here that I didn't like. Mexican Mochas are delicious! The only thing that I don't like here (please don't cancel me) is the house ketchup. I'm not a fan. Other than that, I have no complaints!

My family and I went to Breakfast Republic for the first time this morning, and I have to say, the experience was great--largely thanks to our server, Holland! From the moment we sat down, Holland was warm, welcoming, and attentive. She had great menu recommendations, kept our coffee topped off. Even though the restaurant was busy and understaffed(recommend coming in early unless you are fine with a long wait) , Holland handled everything with a smile and a great attitude. The food was great too. (I recommend the chilaquiles) It's rare to find service this good, and it made our meal that much better. We'll definitely be back!

The breakfast place of champions! Morning are for more than basic so come here for the ambiance and the egg-cellent food. Make sure to order the hot chocolate! Or a mimosa. Service is great and quick. Long lines are to be expected so call ahead to get a wait time. Try the burritos!

This location has amazing and kind servers! We came in with a large party and we were seated immediately. We tried a bunch if pancakes and they were all amazing. I got the power bowl and i thought the cook on the steak was perfect! MY FAVORITE WAS THE OREO PANCAKE!

Food and service is amazing. Delicious food and big selections on the menu. Ambiance is clean and friendly. Waitress very attentive with drinks . I would recommend restaurant to friends and family. Definitely coming back with my family. Manager is amazing too.

Hi, This morning we ate at Breakfast Republic in Costa Mesa. This is a "interesting" breakfast place, kind of quaint, with excellent service! Unfortunately the excellent part ends with the service. We ordered and shared the pineapple upside down pancakes and the brioche French toast. Photos of each attached. I have to begin with both orders we barely luke warm when they arrive at the table. Add to that, cold syrup, and both breakfasts were cold from the first bite! The least they could do would be to warm the syrup! We ordered the pineapple upside down pancakes because of the clever, appetizing, description on the menu. Basically it was three pancakes, a very small portion of crushed pineapple and some whipped butter. A huge disappointment! The French toast was even more uninspiring! Four half pieces of French toast on a plate and a very small container of syrup. Nothing else. No butter. Nothing! Every Denny's does better than this! Basically I am giving this restaurant 2 stars. Five stars for the service. 1 star for the food. Since I come to a restaurant to eat food, and I can't average at 2.5 stars, I rounded down. Very disappointing Breakfast Republic! Jim

Our waiter Jakhori 100% made our experience amazing. He was so attentive and he made my friends experience amazing. They did not have chocolate chip pancakes on the menu. He went to the store across the street and came back with chocolate chips so that the chef could put them in my friends pancakes. That's crazy! Jaws dropped. Wallets open. I recommend due to the outstanding service Jakhori provided. They've got a great team if they let a waiter go and do this. Everyone seems super chill and works together happily. Thank you BR for a great experience. I like your egg chairs outside too.

I was delighted to see a dedicated vegan section on the menu! I decided to try the vegan frittata and it was huge, flavorful, and delicious. My one note is that their ketchup is not that good. It's a little spicy and a little watery. I'd much prefer regular ketchup. But overall, our waiter was very nice and I enjoyed our experience. I will be back!

tl,dr: ok place for American breakfast. Likes: + The Shrimp Frittata was delicious and interesting. You got your fried shrimp and omelette blanketed with bacon. + You got your vegetables and hash brown cubes and toast too for a well-rounded meal. Good blend of tastes and textures. + Ample seating. + Polite staff. + Inspiring interior decor. Neutral: - Speed of service was okay. Non-likes: - Dry and salty food. The tea comes in a small cup, so it ran out fast. I was athirst before finishing my meal, but thankfully I brought my own water. - Non-attentive staff. The waiter didn't check up on me and was mostly standing far away. - Only one restroom per gender. - And the restrooms don't have sinks. After using the toilet, you have to leave the restroom to wash your hands. That makes the doorknob disgusting. And I prefer some privacy when washing my hands after doing my business. - The tea was worth around $1. They overpriced it. - Weird unannounced 4% surcharge on top of my slightly overpriced subtotal. The morning ambience of this restaurant seems to be for two manager-type people to meet here to discuss business over breakfast. I was the only non-party-of-2 diner there. I had: $17 Shrimp Frittata + $3.25 Hot Tea + 4% surcharge + tax = $22.69

Only negative thing I have to say about this location is that they only have one table to accommodate large parties of 8 or more and unfortunately there's no time limit on how long a party can take during busy business hours. We were tired of waiting over 40 minutes (after being quoted 30 minutes for the party to leave even though that whole time they had been done with their meals and just talking so we ended up splitting our party so we could eat. The servers were apologetic about the situation and were great during our whole meal. Everyone tried something different on the menu and was very satisfied with their meal. The pancakes were good, even the sweet pancake options weren't overly sweet. Loved the oreo Latte, more on the sweet side but could still taste some caffeine. In a large group, especially with someone in your party is vegan, it can be a challenge to find places that have options for them. Love the fact that Breakfast Republic has specific vegan options which is great and they actually taste good too. Overall good spot for breakfast.

Sooo we normally go to the BR in either San Diego or Irvine. And we normally LOVE the shrimp n grits. This time not so much. It just wasn't as good as the other locations and the pancakes were kinda cold. Also the maple bacon was limp but that could be our fault because side we didn't ask for crispy. But the service was top notch. Our server Jakhori was amazing!! Personable,attentive, and on point. Thank you for being so wonderful with answering questions and offering suggestions and great service. Because of him I'm giving 4 stars. Otherwise I'd give a two star rating.

I'm a regular here for 5 years and the food and service never disappoints! Shout out to Jay to Jack and Lauren this morning! It was super busy but they were on point and brought my food out so quick ! I absolutely love coming here!

Came here to meet up with a friend on a Saturday morning. It was very busy which we both saw as a good sign of good food. Unfortunately that wasn't the case that day. It must not be the norm as people seemed to be packing in this place. I had a dirty chai and the protein lover scramble. The dirty chai was good overall- lots of cinnamon, it's good that I like cinnamon because there was a good layer of it. Sadly it was mildly warm. My neighbors potatoes looked so good - I thought they looked crispy and seasoned so I was super excited. They were cold, not crispy and not seasoned. The whole plate was pretty cold unfortunately. My friend who is a vegetarian was excited about the vegan and vegetarian options. But her plate was super cold too. Neither of us finished even half of our food. She did love the cafe olla!

Today was my first time trying breakfast Republic and I loved it! The food and service were great. I specifically came here because they offer a handful of vegan-as-is options and the menu is clearly marked with what is plant-based. Everything sounded good but I opted for the vegan pesto frittata which comes with thinly sliced sourdough bread and house potatoes, but I substituted hashbrowns in place of them. The frittata is topped with pesto and tomato jam and it was so delicious mixed with the hashbrowns. I also tried the lychee mimosa, bloody Mary, and their seasonal pumpkin spice cocktail. I personally wouldn't get the mimosa again because it wasn't anything special. The pumpkin spice cocktail was so good and had pumpkin purée, pumpkin spice, vodka, and cream. When I ordered it, I substituted coconut milk in place of the cream but when we ordered a second, I found out that the cream is actually nondairy! I loved this drink with the coconut milk. We did not like the bloody Mary at all and it ended up getting left on the table. I will definitely be back to try the other vegan options!

Last meal on my visit to OC. Quick service but the music was a bit loud. My dad ordered scrambled eggs and maple sausage. He said the coffee was really good. A great assortment of vegan options. The Jammin Bene was light and had a nice kick to it‐ and did not set off digestive traumas like regular benedicts to. I picked up a piece of cinnamon ginger coffee cake to enjoy sitting in the airport.

Love this place! Been to multiple locations and this is one of my favorites. Jakhori is an awesome human being and made me feel welcomed on a day that was tough, as I had a celebration of life to head to afterwards. We got some awesome vegan breakfast burritos, as my wife is vegan and I can't eat egg whites. They have one of the best vegan Bloody Mary's around but you don't have to keep it vegan because you can add jurassic bacon. Cold brew is great and the ice cubes are even made with the coffee, so it is not even get watered down and adding a little vanilla was a nice touch but no need for any milk product of some kind because it is a very smooth cold brew. We will be back again for sure!

We had lunch on Saturday. There is much parking, though the entrance is technically off 17th Street, a tough turn on a busy day. (I wrote "technically" because we drove in from the exit. We had to back into a parking space.) The food was good. My son had the shrimp and grits, which was pricier ($18) but smaller than my sausage scramble ($13), which was tasty and filling. Service was great. Ambiance was interesting, with many sexual innuendos. (See pics.) The cup of coffee was interesting. It was large cup of steaming hot coffee that didn't seem ever to get cool enough to enjoy with my food. I even poured creamer in. I had only one cup of coffee, and never finished it.

MMMMM... once in a while, the genre of Cajun always hits the spot in ways you don't appreciate often. There is a little spot in the soul that needs to be filled with something different; something that is not part of a routine. this is exactly what breakfast republic offers. The yummy... 5/5 the family and I had a great time indulging and leaving not a single crumb. ____________ The quality... 5/5 texture, and taste, didn't have to high-five the toilet with my cheeks. ____________ The quantity... 5/5 an adequate amount of food. This is a nice little breakfast spot! My understanding is that it's part of a chain, in which case this location is doing its part in holding up the brand identity. Very cheeky messaging, very kitsch look, very beachy vibes. There's a lot to choose from on the menu, with a heaping handful of customizable items to make something gluten free or vegetarian/vegan. Their drip coffee is nice, too. Our server was a nice guy who made us feel welcome, including my parents' dog. Lots of parking behind the building - though structured in such a fashion as to be one-way-ish, precipitating a turn farther back, but still mighty accessible.

Had a fantastic brunch! Dalton H, our waiter, was very friendly and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed and gave us great suggestions! (Thanks Dalton!) The food was delicious, I really liked my Republic latte. The bloody marry was a bit spicy so make sure you don't drink it all on an empty stomach! the atmosphere was cozy and clean too.

Food: dry and cold, way too many bell peppers to egg ratio in the scramble. Soggy bacon. Coffee: the black coffee was like water and the latte was all milk. Service: bad. Started to walk away before we were done ordering. Had to chase them down to pay the check. Ambiance: dirty and rundown

The restaurant is a lot bigger than I was expecting. Waitress was friendly. I love trying coffee from every place I go. It was excellent. Wait time for food was a little long, but it was worth the wait! We got Oreo cookie pancakes, vegan frittata and vegan Benedict. Everything was quality and super tasty. Excellent portions for the price. Perfect time to go is mid week afternoon.

Anytime I have been here it has always been a wonderful visit. Finally getting around to writing a review due to my most recent visit. Jakhori was my server & he was THEE BEST! Friendly, attentive (especially with keeping my drink filled), & exceptional when helping me decide what to eat. I have multiple dietary restrictions & he listened to what I needed & came up with the perfect meal for me! Beyond yummy!! Will absolutely be back again & will be requesting him as our server :)

Atmosphere was great! Sever was kind. Menu choices were wonderful. Omlette tasted premade. All ingredients could be shaken right out. Ketchup was runny. Menus were sticky..

This place was a little crowded on a Sunday around noon. I found parking down the neighborhood street and walked because the parking lot was so small and full. The service was alright for the amount of people packed in the place. We ordered right away and got our food in a reasonable time but our server forgot to give us silverware. Sitting with our food in front of us and no silverware is the worst when you're starving! So I asked another server for the silverware and he seemed a little annoyed. The sandwich was so tasty and the potatoes too! When we left and got outside the silence was so blissful and it made me realize how crazy loud it was inside. I'd probably have this order door dashed or for takeout next time because I don't think it was worth all the stress.

Been coming here with my son for about a year and a half. Never had a problem with the food. Waiting for about 25 minutes to get a cup of coffee. I had to wave my hand in front of the waiter when he walked by to get his attention to order a cup of coffee at the same time I ordered my meal since it had been so long. Ordered the breakfast burger today and I don't know what was in it, but it seemed stale cold and there was a nice ball of lint in the middle of my potatoes. The food seemed like it was left over from yesterday and they didn't bother warming it up. I told The waiter and he said sorry and brought me my check and walked away. I won't be back. Coffee was really good though. I gave him two stars because the other meals with my son worked pretty good.

Their food is amazing but, their bacon is UNBELIEVABLY AMAZING!! And a must try experience. If you blink you will pass it.

Came in here for the first time and it was very good. The waitress was so nice and patient, basically went over the menu with me and chose my food. She was correct, everything was great.

A place to share breakfast with everyone. They have a section of the Vegan options. I picked breakfast burrito and mom got the avocado toast ( looked too sad I didn't take photo haha) Mom enjoyed it but it was rather small. The breakfast burrito was crazy- I kept asking if the egg was vegan or not . My little brother who is not a vegan said it taste better than the animal secretion ( he didnt use these words but that is what it is haha) the outside sitting is not the cleanest . For the price you paid for food. you would think it's better than how this is set up! Anyways, I support the delicious vegan burrito tho I did use a lot of hot sauce .. ( the rice not so much )

Delicious little breakfast spot. I love that all of their eggs are locally sourced. A friend and I went to have breakfast on Sunday morning and our server was absolutely amazing.. I'm sure everybody is wonderful but Jakhori went above and beyond to make sure we had the best experience possible! We will definitely be back and request the same server

Heard great things. Place is fun and hipster. Love all the chicken puns, swag and egg merch. Service is very friendly but man, it was slow! For 2 people, it was about an hour from sit down to paying, and what was asking for the check when our food came out. Food is good. Big portions. Very delicious.

First time here. I have to say, I was hesitant at first to get the breakfast Sammie. I'm not much of a bacon fan. I know, I know... I didn't know what Jurassic pork bacon was. But when I bit into it, it was very good. Not too stiff. The house potatoes were seasoned well also. But beware of the ketchup style sauce. It's a bit spicy. I didn't expect that. The service was exceptional especially for being early in the morning. Definitely will come back next time I'm in the area.

Walking by looking for a place for breakfast while Big O tires was fixing a flat tire. Waiter recommended the turkey meatloaf hash and it didn't disappoint

The breakfast jambalaya was amazing and i was pleased with it. They got some good juices in the morning. I will be giving it another go and try something different. They have lots of sitting!

I would give them a five star because the food is exceptionally good, but the service was terrible. It wasn't for a lack of trying, they were quite friendly, but extremely disorganized. I had said to myself I was not going to go back after the previous times because it was the same type of experience, but I wanted to give them one last chance and was sadly disappointed. The food is quite good, some of the best breakfast food in the area. It seems like for a place that size it is understaffed and the poor servers cannot balance all of the tasks they have assigned to them. They were not rude or disrespectful in any way, but any time you needed to get their attention took substantially longer than elsewhere. I don't know if I will give them yet another try. I have given them several.

This place is okay for breakfast. The only reason I give two stars is for the ketchup that stuff is really good haha! I have been about three times all times the service was the same not super friendly or inviting. The food is pretty plain sometimes my potatoes are not even hot when they come and thats a bummer everyone loves good breakfast potatoes!

Highly recommend this restaurant directs their focus to better customer service, and higher quality food. Not in any way worth the money, but the restaurant itself is neat. The bacon was simply icing on the cake for our party of 6's lackluster visit. But addressing that issue, I did not ask for thick cut bacon. I said I want the applewood smoked bacon as long as it's not thick cut. Your employee responded with saying something that's clearly on the menu, is not a product of your restaurant. To get further into detail, our service was pretty poor all around. Having asked multiple times for condiments, our waitress never came back for refills or any of the tables needs, the restaurant was out of orange juice (seems avoidable?). It got to the point where we started asking random employees for anything we might need. I will give credit where credit is due. Good location, good Atmosphere, and in its entirety, the restaurant has potential. Although we were not pleased with the food itself, that is entirely subjective so I don't feel the need to comment on things as far as taste. The service on the other hand...

Literally everything about this place was great. From the bottom less cafe de olla, to the taste, serving size, and prices of their menu options. Service was also exceptional all around. Definitely looking forward to eating here again!

Came here with 2 others on a Sunday around 12:15 and there wasn't much of a wait so we got seated right away. I got the vegan breakfast burrito (without fakon) and a vanilla latte. We also got the French toast sampler to share. The portions are huge so we probably could have done with just one order of one French toast to share (we just wanted something sweet to share). The vegan breakfast burrito was really tasty and came with a generous amount of vegan steak and egg. I would definitely come back and recommend this place to others in the area for a weekend brunch!

Best pancakes I have ever had. Super light & fluffy. We got the pancake flight with churro, Oreo, and pineapple flavors. Jurassic bacon was also very tasty. Service was great, very attentive. Fun ambiance with good music. Funny merchandise and decor. Will come back next time I am in the area.

My first time here and I absolutely loved it!! Everything was phenomenal, the lemon coconut pancakes were delectable and the shrimp and grits were so flavorful. The service was wonderful, our server Jack was on top of his game and showed what a worthy server should be. I'll definitely be back!!
