Breakfast Republic Begins Providing Meals in Mission Valley | Eater San Diego

"I learned that the Breakfast Republic location in Mission Valley at 1570 Camino De La Reina is now offering dinner in the form of pre-made, pre-packaged comfort meals prepared for laid-off hospitality industry members. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. unemployed workers can come pick up a daily changing featured dish—examples include meatloaf, roasted chicken, lasagna, or shepherd’s pie. The program is expected to continue for the foreseeable future; a $10 contribution is suggested but the food will be free for those who can’t afford to pay, and patrons can also “pass it forward” by buying an extra meal for another customer." - Candice Woo

Breakfast Republic Rises Anew in Mission Valley | Eater San Diego

"In Mission Valley's Park Valley Center on Camino de la Reina, Breakfast Republic has opened a 2,436-square-foot outpost that replaces a Panda Express and marks the ninth location for the concept; it's also the fourteenth opening for Johan Engman and his Rise & Shine Restaurant Group. Slinging daily brunch from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., the menu — which has been drawing crowds since the concept debuted in 2015 — ranges from churro pancakes and s’mores French toast to bacon-wrapped breakfast hot dogs and crab and crawfish eggs Benedict. The space leans into a playful, signature design with egg-shaped waiting room chairs and whisk-shaped light fixtures, and the bar offers beer plus variations on Bloody Marys and mimosas." - Candice Woo

Google
Breakfast Republic was such a pleasant surprise and easily one of my favorite spots in San Diego! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was a 10/10… warm, lively, and full of personality. It has that perfect mix of cozy and trendy that makes you want to sit back, relax, and stay a while. The decor is fun and creative, and the energy in the restaurant just feels good. The service was also top-notch. Every staff member we interacted with was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. They made us feel right at home, which is something I really value when dining out. It’s rare to find a place that delivers great food and great vibes so effortlessly. Another thing I really appreciated about Breakfast Republic is that it felt like one of the few places in San Diego with some true diversity… both in the people and the atmosphere. It made the experience even more enjoyable and gave it a sense of community and inclusiveness that stood out. Overall, it’s a must-visit breakfast spot. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the overall experience made me want to come back. The only reason I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is that the food, while tasty, didn’t completely blow me away, but everything else absolutely did. A wonderful place to start your day!

Came here with my girlfriend on a Friday morning for breakfast around 10:00. Indoor seating was about 15 minutes for us, but we decided to sit on the patio which was open. We were given menus as we were seated and a short moment to look at the menu before we had our order taken. We ordered the Breakfast Jambalaya and the Yogurt Bowl. While we waited, we were given water and we asked for an umbrella to be setup for shade from the sun. They quickly setup the umbrella and got the sun out of our eyes. Our wait for the food was maybe 10 minutes. The food was good. The Breakfast Jambalaya was had little spice and some flavor. The Yogurt Bowl was better. The yogurt had a whipped texture (soft and light). The atmosphere was light noise on the patio. I would consider coming back to try more if in the area.

Arrived around lunch time for a late Sunday brunch. Wait time was quoted around 35 minutes but we got our text and were seated closer to 20. Our server, Juan, was very welcoming and attentive and brought us drinks right away. Coffee was strong and delicious. For food we ordered the Oreo Cookie pancakes with a side of eggs and bacon, Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata, and a breakfast burrito with Jurassic Pork upgrade. The Oreo Cookie pancakes were honestly the best thing we ordered. They were cooked perfectly, fluffy and flavorful with crunchy cookie topping on each layer. To be completely honest, I was not a fan of the Shrimp and Ricotta Frittata. It was soggy which was slightly unpleasant to consume. It also needed a lot of seasoning. The shrimp was cooked well, but the overall flavor was lacking. I probably won’t order that again. The house potatoes that came with the frittata were perfect, lots of crispy potato skins, probably the best house potatoes I’ve had in a while. Breakfast Burrito was good, but my husband said he wasn’t sure he’d pay to add Jurassic Pork next time. Overall, he wasn’t wowed by it. Next time we come back we plan on exploring more of their menu and give some other dishes a try. Definitely recommend pancakes and house potatoes!

Breakfast Republic is my favorite spot when I’m visiting California! This location is really nice and spacious, great service. I love the huge mugs of coffee! We had Regular Egg Benedict, Banana split French toast, jalapeño omelette and regular French toast! Super yummy!

Google
The menu had some uniquely named options like jurassic pork and cluck madame benedict. We were passed up by the hostess for two other couples and the service was slow. Prices were average.

Google
The combination of flavors in the breakfast burrito sounds delightful, offering a satisfying start to the day. A seven-score rating suggests it is a well-received dish that many people enjoy. The jambalaya for breakfast introduces a bold and unique culinary experience. The ten-score rating indicates it's exceptionally delicious, exceeding expectations. Such a meal promises to be both flavorful and memorable.

Google
It was a open air hustle and bustle, they looked to be a bit understaffed which kinda cuts my stars down as it took asking thrice and the twenty minutes to try and pay the bill. When I went to pay the bill for my part of a six person party we were told they could only take three cards per table which we were not made aware of when they sat us down. Tldr- decent food, sluggish/forgetful service and if you have a large party ask beforehand about how to split the bill

Orders the Benedict’s and another dish. Everything was good. The lychee mimosa was great!

Yelp
Food was great! Service was awesome! They checked on us regularly and took my allergies seriously. We got strawberry mascarpone french toast, the hot chick, a side of bacon, and the ube latte. Strawberry mascarpone french toast was solid. Not too sweet, fresh strawberries, and came with a side of maple syrup (that I didn't use). The hot chick was also so good. I usually don't like coleslaw but I thought it worked well in this case. Not super spicy, more like a hint in my opinion, but great flavor. Crispy chicken, good ratio to the english muffin. But the best part was the egg! Nice and golden on the inside, to my knowledge means happy chickens? Will definitely order this again. Side of bacon was pretty basic, came with 4 slices. I unfortunately wasn't able to drink the ube latte because I have a nut allergy and they were unable to accommodate that. However, she made sure in the back to see if there was anything they could do, so that was nice. Bathroom was pretty basic, single room, and had a urinal as well because it was unisex. Not super fancy but had a cool mirror. Busy for a Monday morning! Outdoor seating and inside seating. (not pictured because I felt weird lol). Cute salt shakers and cute plates. Far prices for San Diego.

Yelp
Surprisingly, one of the better vegan breakfasts in San Diego I've had. Had a work pow wow function and we decided on this local spot near work. We were not disappointed. Location/Ambiance/Overall Vibe: Heart of Mission Valley in the shopping plaza with plenty of parking. Seating available indoor, outdoor, or at the bar. BR is lively, stylish, and a perfect spot for groups. Great energy, cute interior, and a great stress-free experience. Vegan Options FTW: Got to love that the menu caters to whatever you are craving: vegan or not, healthy or not, sweet or savory, they got it! Check their menu. They have a vegan section that stands out like the Jammin' Bennie, vegan Benedict, harvest omelet, avocado toast, and vegan tres leches pancakes. Got some of my co-workers to even try their vegan items and they were impressed! Order: Jammin' Bennie - Yummy in my tummy! It's Italian vegan sausage, plant-based eggs which I believe is made of mung beans, and creamy vegan hollandaise with a bold jalapeno blackberry jam. Side of house potatoes. Could have fooled me! A bit salty for my liking. A tad more hollandaise would be great and the muffin could have been less soggy, but overall it's a filling and flavorful meal. 4/5 For something sweet, I suggest the vegan Tres Leches pancakes! This is if you want to be naughty. It's dangerously good. Fluffy, soaked in syrup, topped with strawberries and pistachio brittle. All my favs in one! Beats any regular pancake. A delightful treat! 5/5 Finished it off with in-house fresh squeezed OJ! Service and Portions: Service is friendly, attentive, and kind even during a rush. Portions are big so come hungry and leave stuffed! Final Take: They are not full vegan, but fully impressive! You can tell they are really trying to appeal to everyone so KUDOS for that! I recommend this spot for your taste buds and your tummy will thank you.

Yelp
American brunch with creative menu offerings and options for those on a high protein or vegan diet. This restaurant does not take reservations, only walk-ins, so for large parties plan accordingly. They are quite a small restaurant in a strip mall. The staff are friendly but casual, and we had no trouble ordering. There was a mix up in which one person did not get their food for quite a long time, which was unfortunate, but accidents do happen. I ordered the California Breakfast Burrito, which I think is a Cali burrito because it has potatoes. It came with a side of rice and beans. The rice was rather dry and beans not very flavorful. The burrito was good, lots of big chunks of creamy egg and a hit of salty fattiness from the bacon. I enjoyed it most with their signature hot sauce on the table. I also got the ube iced latte, which was tasty, but more just generically sweet than any strong ube flavor. Just a heads up but it will also stain your lips and teeth a little. We also ordered a pancake flight and french toast sampler for the table. Some are smaller than others, for example the pineapple is just one pancake with pretty light toppings whereas the oreo one is two pancakes stacked with cream inside. The french toast was a hit with the table. The pancakes less so. The oreo was very crumbly, did not stay together at all, but the flavor was nice. The tres leches pancake is SO sweet. Even with a huge sweet tooth I could not handle it. Next time I would stick to the french toast, seemingly their better item, as at least the pancakes we chose were a miss. Overall it was a decent dining experience, but their food was not standout and even lacking in some areas. I think it stands somewhere between 3 and 4 stars, but for having a great vegan menu I will round up.

Yelp
I made a return trip to Breakfast Republic and forgot that I should not order their Shrimp and Grits. Eggs Benedict might have been a better choice for me. My shrimp and corn were properly cooked but they would have greatly benefited from being grilled or pan-seared. Also, I really prefer really cheesy grits. So, my suggestion is that you should come here for something else but not the shrimp and grits.

Yelp
Brunch at Breakfast Republic in Mission Valley was a great start to the day. We ordered the Breakfast Tostada and the Veggie Breakfast Burrito, and both were delicious and super filling. The tostada was flavorful and well-balanced, and the veggie burrito was hearty without feeling heavy. Fun vibe, solid portions, and exactly what you want from a brunch spot. Would definitely come back!

Yelp
This place is around the corner from where we live so we wanted to give it a shot. Food was very good! Highly recommended anything with egg in it, they have really good quality eggs! Service was great, friendly and welcoming and got the food out quickly. Family friendly place, is nice mostly outdoor seating with heaters. Highly recommend! The only critique is the Ube Latte has almonds in it.. would love if in the future they can make a nut free option with it.

Yelp
I have some crazy food allergies and breakfast republic saves me every time! You guys are always so careful and so wonderful! I placed an order right before closing (I apologized and asked if they were still taking orders and they said of course and they had a busy restaurant still and it wasn't a problem!) I picked up my food as soon as it was ready and it was perfect! I love the breakfast Sammie with potatoes! Always delish saved me from starving thank you closing crew!!!

Yelp
My husband and I had the pleasure of dining at Breakfast Republic in Mission Valley, and I have to say--five stars all the way! From the moment we were seated on the shaded patio (with outdoor fans keeping things perfectly comfortable), everything was smooth, relaxing, and absolutely delicious. Jazmine, our waitress, was a gem! So friendly, attentive, and on point the entire time. She made sure our drinks stayed filled without us even needing to ask, and her warm attitude added to the overall positive experience. She alone deserves 5 stars for her service! Now let's talk about the food--phenomenal is an understatement. The presentation was beautiful, and the flavors? Out of this world. We requested to swap out the pork in our omelettes for turkey bacon, and they accommodated us with no extra charge, which we really appreciated. For the pancakes--WOW. My husband had the pineapple upside-down pancakes, and they literally tasted like the cake version--sweet, warm, and full of flavor. I ordered the strawberry cheesecake pancake sandwich--layers of fluffy buttermilk pancakes with cream cheese icing and graham cracker crumbles in between, topped with fresh strawberries and a side of syrup. The pancakes can be subbed out in replacement of the potatoes or bread options for $4 dollars more and you can pick any type of pancakes. It was hands-down one of the best breakfasts I've had in a long time. The kitchen staff deserves their flowers too--the food came out fresh, hot, and perfectly cooked despite the restaurant being busy. If you're ever in Mission Valley, do yourself a favor and check out Breakfast Republic in the shopping plaza (lots of parking, by the way). You won't be sorry you came!

Yelp
The servers here are so sweet and amazing! Very attentive and made sure everything was tasting well. I really love their hot sauce and whenever the wait time isn't too crazy, this is my go to spot for brunch! I always love their interior aesthetic and I love this location since there's a lot of things to do during the wait time.

Yelp
Super huge portions! But they gave small plates for sharing. Patio seating option if you happen to have your fur babies. Pretty casual and open. There wasn't much of a complaint with anything we ate, maybe just the rice & beans that came with the burrito. It was kinda dry &hard.. the other thing was the Mac&cheese, for some reason it was sweet. Not sure what it was because I only had a couple bites.. other than that it's a yummy brunch option if you want to meet up with friends.

Yelp
Breakfast time! We scoured Yelp ahead of our trip for a decent breakfast place since we were taking a red-eye flight. Thanks to the Yelp app, we were able to locate this Breakfast Republic location. LOCATION / PARKING The restaurant is located within a shopping mall/center. Lots of parking available. NOTES 1. Seating available indoor, outdoor, or at the bar. We arrived to find crowds of people waiting for a seat. We checked in with the hostess, who kindly informed us that it would be a 30 minute wait or there were bar seats available (no wait). We chose the bar. And really, though the bar seating was a slightly cramped, we were brought menus almost immediately. We looked over the menu, and in the end I chose the Jurassic Pork Benedict, while my dining companion ordred the Chilaquiles. I absolutely loved the Jurassic Pork! The bacon slices were of Tyrannosaurs proportions, and were served with a decent side of cubed potatoes. The entire portion was quite filling for me. Recommended. Though my partner finished most of his food, he lamented afterwards that he should have chose a dish that had more protein. Nonetheless, we still left satisfied. SERVICE The bartender/staff member that helped us was friendly, polite, and very efficient. I appreciated he didn't skimp on the coffee refills. BOTTOM LINE A decent breakfast option in San Diego.

Yelp
Service okay, ambiance cool, food okay! I ordered the ricotta omelette 1st and my eggs was burnt!! When a customer ask for well cooked DO NOT MEAN BURNT!!! I re-ordered the American breakfast again asked my eggs are well Cooked and bacon well cooked not burnt, food come out egg okay bacon BURNT TO CRISP!! The thing I dislike is when the waiters attitude change when you ask them to remake your food your paying for. At this point I just picked through my food cause I was hungry just left gym and 1st meal of day. You don't get mad you make sure the customer order is right as requested. Wasn't even busy!! They should have ask or told chef not to burn my food!!! I like breakfast republic but mission valley location need to step it up!! When people say well that don't mean burn!! Angie was cool but I wish she had acknowledged my food being burnt!! Fixed the issue!! But NO. they just talk and stare at you like you did something wrong because you want your food in particular way. If I was a waiter, I would've took that bacon back to the chef and told him to remake it. If you look at the picture, my bacon is clearly burnt to a crisp. And I asked twice for them not to burn my food.

Yelp
We came down for my wife's corporate Christmas party and spent the night in San Diego and woke up looking for a great breakfast place. Well, we found it! Breakfast Republic was a phenomenal experience. Jackie was our server and she made sure our coffee was refilled, even giving us a to go cup excellent server! My wife and I both had the jambalaya breakfast plate and it was amazing. We will be back! Thank you

Stephanie G.

Yelp
We went to breakfast republic for Christmas morning breakfast and everything was amazing. Our server Clemente was amazing. Attentive and super nice. The food was so good, and the price wasn't bad at all. They were busy, but not super full and there was no wait we got right in. It wasn't too loud which was a plus. I will definitely come back to this location every time. Crème brûlée French toast was the best friend toast I've had Fried rice Benedict was my husbands favorite Benedict S'mores waffle was really good my son loved it

Yelp
I almost never go to Breakfast Republic because of the huge lines it draws on the weekends, but it was the perfect spot for a mid week brunch. I forget how much different these hot spots can be during the week! No wait for a table and the option to eat either inside or on their covered patio outside. Easy parking and quick service. We had a nice table outside and were greeted by a friendly server! I ended up ordering the breakfast burrito but asked to sub the vegan meat for carne asada as I'm not a big steak fan. The burrito was huge and I only ended up eating about half of it. The reality is that this place is more quantity than quality. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything special. It was more about the giant portions. Although I will say, although my plate was huge and my friend's chilaquiles were massive, my friend got a benedict that looked so sad. Check the pictures and you can see just how different our plates look! The benefit is that they have great gluten free options and are allergen friendly for those who need it.

Dave S.

Yelp
Another great experience at Breakfast Republic, as always. Austin was an outstanding server, and the food was incredible. Honestly, it doesn't matter what we order--we've tried just about everything on the menu, and it's all consistently excellent. The ambiance here is amazing. I love the vibe and the music--it just adds to the overall experience. We've eaten at Breakfast Republic locations up and down the coast, and the quality never disappoints. This is truly an exceptional restaurant and one that everyone should try at least once.
google avatar

Carolyn H.

Yelp
Very popular spot for breakfast so be prepared to wait which with indoor and outdoor seating not too bad and they don't take reservations! The staff was super friendly and helpful, nice atmosphere and music guests were all enjoying themselves. The portions are very generous and everything was presented nicely with great flavors and served in a reasonable amount of time. Yogurt bowl was a nice thick Greek style that was delicious . Perfection on the breakfast burger, as well with California eggs Benedict and traditional breakfast. Pancakes were nice and fluffy, we definitely enjoyed all our meals and the cocktails! When in San Diego make this a must for a great breakfast and experience.
google avatar

Lu T.

Yelp
Good food, good service, and open decently early. This is the second time we stopped by the same location. We always get good service. If you show up mid morning, there's going to be awake because it's a popular location.. They ordered the chicken fennel omelette that came with potatoes and wheat toast. This was one of the best omelettes. The chicken foul sausage was fantastic. The eggs were cooked properly and the potatoes were crispy. We also ordered the coffee which was decently good. All the condiments or tasty especially the hot sauce. However, they recommend to stop by if you're in the area
google avatar

Sarah G.

Yelp
My husband and I had such an amazing breakfast here! I ordered the Power Jowl with steak and he got the Breakfast Burrito and Pineapple upside pancake --everything was absolutely delicious. I also tried one of their mimosas --Chamango mimosa, it had a Tajín rim with mango-banana liqueur) and it was hands down the best mimosa I've ever had! So unique and flavorful. On top of the great food and drinks, our server Jeremy was fantastic--super friendly, helpful, and quick with our order. He made the whole experience even better. If you're in San Diego and want a spot with delicious food, creative drinks, and great service, Breakfast Republican is a must-try!
google avatar

Sierra S.

Yelp
Amazing vegan options and great service! Best vegan breakfast ever. Got the vegan Bloody Mary, ube latte, eggs Benedict

Yu G.

Yelp
I've been going to a nearby salon, and every weekend I would see how busy this place was, so I had been wanting to try it for a while. I finally got the chance to visit and came for brunch on a weekday with my two kids. We ordered the steak plate and the California eggs benedict. The steak was very delicious, and it was beautifully presented--I was very satisfied with it. The eggs benedict was good as well. There are many other items on the menu that I'd love to try next time.
google avatar

Yelp
EVERY thing was delicious. Burritos were SO good. Bloody Mary was one of the best I have had. Will be back.
google avatar

Quynh N.

Yelp
We went here for brunch and we love it. The waiter was really nice and friendly. Please are clean. Food was good. I got breakfast Sammie and it is great. The sunny side up eggs go perfectly inside toasted bread with the bacon. It's a very delicious bacon. Chilaquiles is also great. We add carne asada with it and it is a bomb. Will definitely come back here.
google avatar

Vernon Van R.

Yelp
A busy restaurant but quality is still there. We were seated right away but the wait time became longer as time goes on. The environment is amazing, we were seated in the patio but asked to be moved as the sun was hitting us and blinding us at the same time. Luckily, they were able to accommodate us. We ordered smores french toast and chilaquiles. Both were delicious. Who knew that adding smores to a french toast would work, but it does. Chilaquiles is good too, add a bit of hot sauce and it's wonderful. Add their coffee with your breakfast and you're good to go for the day. Plenty of parking. Great service. Fast service. Great food. Will go back again and try other food.
google avatar

Yelp
Food: back in town so we're back for breakfast. American breakfast, avocado toast (no hemp seeds), and traditional eggs Benedict. Avocado toast - on the vegan menu. I really like the added touches of pomegranate seeds and strawberries. I haven't seen that in other places and it really adds a nice sweet dimension. Hubby liked the Benedict and DD likes the American with overheard eggs and bacon. Service: the place was packed but after a short wait we were able to get a table inside. Our service was quick and friendly. Ambiance: fun upbeat music and I loved the holiday decorations!
google avatar

Rebeca A.

Yelp
Great service, good atmosphere and delicious fresh food, you can't ask for anything more. The coffee was their house blend, orange juice was freshly squeezed. I ordered their Breakfast Sammie, it was delicious it had a sauce that was sweet and savory, the house potatoes were cooked perfectly crispy outside soft inside. My husband had their Breakfast Tostadas they were equally delicious, fresh, and seasoned well. If you're in the San Diego area check them out for some great breakfast.

Yelp
Good and efficient. I always go there for breakfast. Good choice of eggs Benedict. Love the atmosphere

Yelp
Decided to try it again and it was a very nice experience. Had the shrimp and grits and pancakes with bacon. Both were really good and we definitely cleaned off our plates. No leftovers. Our server was attentive and was very nice. We sat outside in the front and it was nice. The hostess and the person who sat us was very nice too. It was a nice experience during a busy holiday weekend.
google avatar

Yelp
I actually think this place is pretty good and their food is decent but it's definitely something I could make at home myself. It's also always crowded. Def not good enough to wait more than 10 mins for.

Yelp
I need some good breakfast food while I was in SD and decided to take a gamble on Breakfast Republic! I honestly didn't realize it was a chain until I got there. Parking: There is enough parking because it is in a shopping center Ambience: Basically I came here because pics of the venue were cute. It gave me brunch vibes even though it was a weekday! I love the chicken theme Service: Our waiter was great, he was the bartender as well. I commend him for trying to stay in top of things! He gave good recommendations. There were some issues with our order but they tried to make things right Food: I enjoyed my omelette but the brussel sprouts breakfast potatoes took the cake! I heard weekends are super crowded so if you want to just try the food, i suggest a weekday visit!
google avatar

Deanna P.

Yelp
Used to be the place to go. Today our service was mid, waitress with a long scraggly ponytail waving over my table while she helped the table next to us. Eggs were old and cold, cold potatoes Minimal service at best. Won't be back here when there are so many better options
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Party of 14 and we were accommodated outside! I was so happy. I didn't get the waiter name but he took good care of us. The food is always great!

Kelly H.

Yelp
The service was excellent except the lady that brought us to our seat. She wasn't that friendly and maybe she was a little distracted. Our waiter, Eric gave us exceptional service. He was so polite and friendly to my husband and I. He even cracked jokes with my daughter. The person that brought out our foods was a gentleman with excellent personality. You would think they just come out with your food and put it on the table and not say much. He was very well mannered!! The food was delicious. We tried their ube latte and I can really taste the ube flavor.
google avatar

Starla N.

Yelp
Nice Friday breakfast downtown! The food was delicious! I had the turkey meatloaf hash and it was so good! I wasn't sure if meatloaf, pesto and eggs would be a good mix but paired with sourdough bread yum! The service was great we were in and out in about 30-35 mins. The inside of the restaurant is interesting, the decor is pretty cool.

Yelp
I went for the first time ever, excited to celebrate my first meal here together with my partner. We were approached by the sweetest kiddos selling chocolates and we were more than happy to help out. Unfortunately, when my table got called, the same kiddos were being berated by a white manager in a red top and black fan earrings. She could've said no solicitation was allowed and left it at that but she dragged on the conversation, putting them down, threatening to call security, and rolling her eyes. Her behavior was disgusting and I told the kiddos to drop it and know that they had already won: an adult going back and forth with children? Seriously? When they left, she and her sisters commented on their race and that was the last straw. I waited for my partner and we left immediately.
google avatar

Rosalie G.

Yelp
miller was exceptionally pleasant, efficient, cordial, thank y very much, I will come back just for the service

Eric S.

Yelp
I was very impressed with this place. I ordered the crab cake eggs benedict. I will admit that I didn't actually love the crab cake itself, and yet despite that, the dish was fantastic. I liked the blackberry jalapeño jam, the English muffin underneath, and the poached egg was cooked perfectly. And the potatoes that it came with were the best breakfast potatoes I have ever had anywhere, anytime. Home run. I wish I could get back there to try some of the amazing sounding sweet dishes - pancakes and French toast.

Suzi H.

Yelp
Great place for a perfect breakfast! We come to this location often because service, food and cleanliness of the whole restaurant the vibe is fun too! I ordered a mushroom and pesto Benedict and a mimosa and it was delicious and Abraham was outstanding Thank you very much. 5 Stars!

Yelp
I really enjoyed my breakfast this morning. Pretty good size menu with a lot of twists on classics. I would definitely come here again to try a few other items. Pretty busy for a Monday morning too.

Yelp
Such a lovely hostess, great server, the food was on point, and a lovely space with catchy tunes and all over a great vibe! I highly recommend coming! Suggested by our friend who lives in the area. We beat the rush which was perfect!

Service was quick and friendly! We arrived at a busy time on a busy weekend (SDSU grad weekend) and had a party of 3. We were sat within 20 mins even though we were given an estimate of 45 mins. Our server was also friendly and gave good service! Food was amazing! I had steak and eggs, cooked medium well and over medium, respectively, Everything was cooked perfectly! I will say, my steak was a bit on the fattier side which I don't mind, but I know for some that's a deal breaker. The chimichurri was the icing on top, as it brought in all of the flavors together! Restaurant was busy, but our server was attentive and professional. It does get a bit crowded, especially during peak weekend brunch times, but overall, never had a bad experience here!

Yelp
The food was very very good. Shrimp and grits and Fennel Chicken Omelet. Service time was good too!

Yelp
Great food, service, and vibes! Efficient wait with the text message. Food exceeded our expectations with my whole family happy with their order. Good options for kids and they were able to color during the short wait for their food. A variety of drinks for all in party. Thanks Lucia!

Yelp
Out in SanDiego for the Holiday Bowl and now on our way to SeaWorld but before we need to fuel up!! Came to the perfect spot Breakfast Republic! Great looking menu. We started with 2 Sweetie Cocky 12 (cold brew) which were eye openers! My wife then ordered the Chilaquiles with carne asada and avocado, absolutely amazing and delicious! The sauce on the chilaquiles was amazing perfect over easy eggs and the steak seasoned and cooked to perfection! I ordered the Mushroom and Pesto Benedict with chicken fennel sausage! Everything tasted so fresh! Great breakfast good service now let's go to SeaWorld!!!

Yelp
Definitely won't return here, the chilaquiles were dry and the prices to high for what you get. The pancakes was decent, but my reason to not return are the following, service was real bad we had to request our drinks several times, waiter never returned after taking our order we had to ask random staff for items we needed, and there is no kids menu.

Yelp
I came here with my mom and sister on a Friday morning. There was about a 20-25 minute wait. Not too bad. They call and text you when your table is ready. The service was great! Our server was very friendly and helpful. We were seated outside and it's a covered patio seating. Pretty cute. We tried the traditional eggs Benedict, shrimp and grits, and steak and eggs. All the dishes were delicious! My fav was the shrimp and grits and eggs Benedict. Must try!

Yelp
Love breakfast spots like this. Solid food. Great offerings. Huge portions. Unpretentious, efficient service, good with kids and groups. Server handled our party like it was his 10000th with multiple split checks. No problem. Yet he was attentive and gave us everything we needed all in good time. Even the food runners were friendly. Will 100% hit this spot up again.

Yelp
Lucia was amazing! We are only in town for a couple of days and we are so thankful that we came to breakfast republic and experienced her service! Next time we are in town we will be back to try the chilaquiles
