I don’t usually leave negative reviews for local hotels, but I do try to be fair and honest in my assessments. The staff at check‑in and in the restaurants were excellent—warm, welcoming, and professional.
The rooms, however, could use some much‑needed TLC. The age shows, especially in the bathroom tiles and finish work. I didn’t get to enjoy the grounds as much as I would have liked since I was in and out for meetings, but I did spend a few hours at the pool table with the boys. The poolside food and drinks were great, though service at the daiquiri stand was disappointing. One staff member continued socializing with other guests who arrived after me, leaving me waiting while her back was turned, which didn’t feel appropriate.
My biggest concern came from the room itself. While searching for an outlet near the bed—which there wasn’t—I pulled the bureau away from the wall and discovered an old folded paper plate and a very large conch fritter behind it. It startled me at first because I genuinely thought it was something else. I left the bureau pulled out the next morning so housekeeping could address it, but when I returned later that day, the bureau had been pushed back and the plate and fritter were still there. I reported it to the front desk, and by the following night it was finally removed.
Overall, the staff were pleasant and the food at the buffet restaurant was excellent with lots of choices and well prepared and seasoned, but the room maintenance and housekeeping oversight definitely need some improvement.
